Life is about to change for Brian Henderson, now that he knows the secrets of Beach Drive.Unbeknownst to Brian and the others, they have brought something else home with them after their misadventure in the forest. The spirit of a mountain man has followed them to Frederickport with a secret of his own.
How are there still books in this series? Will it ever end? I can’t just stop when I know there’s more. It’s torture. I voluntarily torture myself with these.
When the mountain man they encountered on their last harrowing experience shows up at Marlow House demanding vengeance against Walt's father, Walt is determined to get to the bottom of this and prove his Dad was not a murderer!
Not my favourite. It’s a bit much when five people are mentioned in one sentence. This was a bit too timey-wimey. But I enjoyed the other characters’ stories which I love following.
This is by far my favorite adult series. The characters are as real as my family. It is a bit coincidental that so many mediums live on one street but this is fiction. Anyway, I'm highly entertained by this series and carefully ration them so I don't run out long before the next one.
In this book we learn more about Walt Marlow's parents and their time in life. Now that Officer Brian has been brought aboard and understands the odd things that happen when ghosts are involved, it's better. There's still Officer Joe, who does not know about the ghosts, and his annoying fiance, Kelly. So why does the new ghost Bud, a mountain man, insist that Walt's father, Alex, murdered him? Alex's parents died in a house fire when Walt was 5 years old- well over 100 years ago. Danielle and the Beach Drive mediums must unravel the mystery in bits and pieces before they can help Bud be on his heavenly way.
I have listened to every one of the books in this series and Romy Nordlinger as narrator is fabulous!! She makes the characters absolutely so memorable and no two sound alike. Of course she has a wonderful books to work with and this one was no different.
I did miss Millie and Eva as they didn’t have very prominent rolls in this one, but I guess you have to share the love as Heather and Brian kept center stage with Walt and Danielle again.
I just have to wonder if Kelley is going to keep up with the annoying crap! Then maybe she just bothers me so much because Romy has hit the nail with voicing her character.
Love this series and the characters so much. It is a great and fun and silly story. Just what is needed from time to time. So short I read all the books in a month and was sad I had to wait until March 30 until this one was released. Now I have to wait until August for the next book! Lol and I am so thrilled that the series is continuing. I wasn’t sure with Walt returning to the land of the living it would be as interesting but they proved me wrong and now with the end of this book I am interested where it is going to take it next. I also love the new romance with Heather and Brian. I always picture her as Pauley Perrette in my mind movie and Jeffery Dean Morgan as Brian. I know Pauley is much older than Heather’s character but she looks very young lol. I am a big nerd I know.
As always, a fun read. A lot to take in, but since I know the characters, it is easier to process. Uncle Bud is the mountain man. He wants to be re-buried in Frederickport next to his sister. He holds Walt and Danny “hostage” to make that happen. Walt wants to know why Uncle Bud thinks his father Alex killed him. Uncle Bud says he will tell them if they get him reburied. We learned that Teddy killed Walt’s parents, because they were rescuing Teddy’s wife, Mattie. Uncle August is leaving his money to Teddy because he is very fond of Mattie. If he were to find out that Teddy was cheating on Mattie, he would cut Teddy out of the will. Teddy killed Bud after killing Walt's parents because Bud had seen Teddy with his mistress. Bud told Alex, but Teddy wanted to make sure he didn't tell anyone else.

I didn't even write a review of the last two "Danielle" books because they're pretty much the same. Somebody dies. Their ghost shows up. Etc., Etc. However, in the last one, Brian is FINALLY told about the mediums on Beach Wood Drive, so that's an addition to the story line. Next will be Joe and Kelly. I really don't like Kelly much. I hope she and Joe break up. She's too much of a meddling busybody. Not as bad as the "Mrs. Kravitz" next door, but still.
The reason I gave this book a lower rating than usual is that there were WAYYYY too many characters to keep straight, all of them relations of Walt and a newcomer to Frederickport (I listen to audio, so no idea how things are spelled). Just TOO MANY to keep them all straight.
I love these books, they are easy reads and I love all the ghost mysteries Danielle and the Beach Drive gang solve. But my goodness is Kelly the single most annoying character to have ever been written. I wanted to find real life Kelly and give her a piece of my mind during certain points of this book. And while Joe seems to be getting better, she remains annoying, condescending, snobby, and a giant gossip. She made me like this book a little less - and it makes me worried about her mother being in the next book. Fingers crossed she's less annoying than her daughter!
The Ghost and the Mountain Man (Haunting Danielle book 27
This was one of my favorite books in this series. You all will love this book too if you have read all the other books in this series. Wow I am so happy Walt got to see his parents. I highly recommend these Authors and epically this series. Once you start you cannot put them down. They have wonderful storylines and great imaginations. Diana Romano
Fantastic story line and great characters! This one had me up until the wee hours of the morning. Each book in this series is an adventure within itself. I absolutely love each and every one. I love following the lives and adventures if each character. Max is a lovable kitty character and I love how he and Walt interact. Can't wait for the next book!!!!!
Kelly (and Joe too, for that matter) can be quite annoying, even though she means well. There are times when I can't believe a grown woman would behave the way she does with her grown brother (who is married and has a child). Let's hope that some of Marie's antics will mean she might eventually learn to at least accept that she doesn't always have all the answers, even if she never knows the complete truth.
It was interesting to learn more about Walt's parents.
I'll probably listen to this series to the end - not sure why, but I probably will. I just find some of these characters to be quite annoying. Plus, it's just a bit too "formula" for my liking. But, they are easy books to listen to and, when the books I really want to listen to aren't available, I can usually download one pretty quickly from the library. These are mainly just space fillers for me.
Love this series. A lot of paranormal activity. Walt, Danielle, Chris, Heather and the rest of the bunch solved mysteries with the help of ghosts. These are not standalone books. You must read at least one or two books before the most recent book. Best to read the whole series to really understand the relationships between all the characters. You will be hooked like I am.
A shame how three such close friends while growing up could end up on such different paths. Brian and Heather should be interesting. Will the gold ever be discovered? Will we find out in the next book if Walt and Danielle have a boy or girl or will we have to wait longer?
As always, Bobbi Holmes has a hit on her hands. I totally enjoyed losing myself in this latest Marlowe House adventure. I am waiting to see what will happen to Pearl...will she ever realize how lonely she is? And I was very excited about the ending of the book. Thanks for the great read, Bobbi!!!
It all came together nicely in the end, and Yay for Walt and Danielle. I find the lore of this universe absolutely fascinating, and I can't wait to find out what it all means, why Eva is sticking around, and all of the stuff about angels and Santa. Hopefully in the upcoming books, the author will delve a bit deeper into it all.
Some interesting back story on Walt's family that ties in with the last book's kidnapping makes this a good addition to the series. Unfortunately a part of the book also deals with Kelly who is, as usual, a royal pain. Heather's introduction to sourdough starter is amusing. The ending has a long awaited reveal.

Ghost and more ghost, loved it. I'm disliking Kelly more and more though, she needs to be locked in a room with a ghost she can see. I enjoyed knowing thinks about Walt's past, it answers questions. Great storyline, thank you for the surprises Bobbi. I added the audio narration which was excellent. I highly recommend this series.
Kelly is nosey and Heather made ridiculous mistakes. For instance, how are you going to go to someone’s house, a person you never met before, to get rid of a ghost with no back up?
She never says “i don’t want your treasure!”to that ghost.
I mean, just silly. Kelly is still the most annoying though.
I do love the Brian and Heather thing.

I definitely enjoyed this book. I was not expecting a jump scare in a cozy mystery but I enjoyed it! I really wished that Uncle Bud had remembered where the treasure was, as I feel it would have added another “happy ending” aspect to the book. However, chapter 40 was my favorite. I’m so glad Walt got the dream hope he has deserved for so long!

I realized I'm nearly caught up to the author and am going to have to wait for the books to be written to continue. I have just a handful of books left to catch up with her. For now, I will enjoy the books I can get. This book did not disappoint! I loved learning more about the backstory of Walt Marlow in this book.
As great as every book before. Not possible to not love Walt and Danielle, like all of their friends, and applaud their strength, energy, and determination to do the right thing!
An excellent read. Ghosts of long ago appear and send Danielle, Walt and their friends a trip down memory lane. An old murder and a young ghost need to figure out what happened to them. Another brilliant story from Bobbi Holmes.
Love this series!!!! Was a bit confusing on who was related to who by who....but as always an awesome read!!! I love all the characters....everyone is so unique in their own way . Can not wait till the next book!!!!! Happy Reading :) 💜
