A collection of speeches made by presidents. Some of the speeches mark era-defining events, such as the announcement of the withdrawal of American troops from the Vietnam war by Gerald Ford. Others are more informal in tone, yet often greatly telling about the man behind the words and the challenges of the office he occupied.
OK book. Some interesting speeches & perspectives. I wish there was more info on when & where some of the speeches were made. I did like the explanation that is listed just before the speech. It does help one to understand the purpose of the speech if it wasn't already evident.
Interesting book, compiled by Brits. The order of presentation could have been better. There were also notable speeches included, Kennedy at Berlin, The Gettysburg address, which would be expected. One that I was surprised not to read was Reagan’s “Shining City”. It changed a generation.
Nice collection of speeches in no particular order which was annoying, would of loved for more information about the exigency of them but overall a nice read
