Unveiling "The Secret Gospel of Jesus - AD 0-78"
An Interview with Author Anton Sammut by Literary Critic Patrick Sammut

Your book comprises a story that runs parallel to the narratives found in the New Testament Gospels but which contains many details which are not to be found in the latter. What do you have to say about this?

As you are perfectly aware, every novel needs to adopt a particular literary style and this is crucial if it is to be a reflection of the theme of the book. In the case of The Secret Gospel of Jesus, I needed to maintain the identical style used in the Gospels so that the reader would be able to relate to the text more easily. As for the many details that you are referring to, I would like to emphasise the fact that I did not just make up these specific details using my imagination. They are all based on, and in some cases actually copied verbatim from Gnostic Gospels and other historical, Christian and ancient documents which for political and theological reasons were put aside or almost completely destroyed by those who did not wish to have certain facts revealed. Proof of this can be found in the fact that the 27 books of the New Testament represent but an extremely minute fraction of the Christian literature that was produced in the first three centuries after Jesus's time. These Gospels are known as Apocrypha: sacred texts that were highly revered by the earliest of communities and for this reason, many of these details are included in this novel too so that the reader could thoroughly comprehend Jesus's humanity just as he realistically was. I say this because in reality, in the New Testament Gospels we come across Jesus as a rather psychologically incomplete person, in the sense that in these texts he never smiles, laughs or jokes with his friends - how could this be possible? In addition, we are not told anything about what he did in his free time and whether he did any travelling in his life and if so, where to. It is only logical to ask, did Jesus's life consist only of what is written in the New Testament?...

Through profound research, the exceptionally talented author and researcher Anton Sammut has managed to bring back to life the secret Wisdom that through millennia was ostensibly censured by powerful 'individuals' to gain influence and control over their followers. This manipulation and suppression of truth deprived generations of the opportunity to be aware of the true teachings told by Jesus and Mary Magdalene that would have led them to elevate their level of Consciousness.

With every page, the author has not only managed to bring back to life previously 'unknown' secret esoteric teachings but will also carefully guide the readers to discover meticulously researched and very important historical documents that will challenge their innermost beliefs.

In The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78, Anton Sammut managed to accomplish the ultimate feat - that is systematically piecing back together and restoring the true story of Jesus and Mary of Magdalene. These revelations will pave the way for mankind to be set free from the blind servitude of religion.....and spiritually prosper in this newfound liberation.

I read: “The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78” and although I had already read it in the Maltese version, I was looking forward to the English version since it is longer and contains notes and references. And by the way, even the book cover is very original and full of energy 😊

I am not new to Anton Sammut’s works and it always fascinates me how he is able to write on a complicated topic but succeeds to make it accessible and easy to understand for the reader. This book is no exception! In fact, through his meticulous research he was able to provide a very interesting historical story on the origin and life of Jesus and those close to him. In both books I was fascinated by the information provided on Mary Magdalene, on her origins and the traditions she lived in. I must admit that I had various misconceptions on this character which I am happy I was able to rectify through this author. The book also shows a description of Jesus who is much realistic and positive of Jesus and his teachings. Case in point I was impressed by Jesus’s behaviour in relation to animals which goes very much in line with Jesus’s teachings.

Once again a big well done to the author Anton Sammut for this interesting book. You always succeed to impress us with your superb work 😊. Keep up the great work.

The book's title immediately grabs your attention and every chapter leaves you pondering with thoughts. In fact, I believe that this book will shape generations to come! Generations that will no longer blindly believe unsubstantiated religious dogmas but will challenge them in order to truly understand the teachings of Jesus. This book manages to recount the life of Jesus in its entirety, filling in gaps left blank for centuries and that no one dared to question or explore.

Mary Magdalene's true identity is presented, taken out of the shadows and away from patriarchal suppression and deceit. There is no space for fiction in this novel. The author accompanies the reader through both a historic and spiritual journey. Anton Sammut's in-depth research was not only acquired through books (as abundantly referenced in the novel itself) but also thru his high level of consciousness.

I thank him for sharing with us such profound knowledge with the hopes of ameliorating and strengthening our spirituality by making us delve deeper into our own consciousness.

This book immediately intrigued me with its mysterious cover, and I have to say, judging a book by its cover, for once, was spot on.

Undoubtedly, The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 proved to be a significant discovery for numerous reasons, one being the encounter with an author of such extensive learning.

The narrative presented within this book is remarkable – so much so that I felt as though I was immersing myself in history, present with Jesus and Mary Magdalene, sensing their powerful presence while observing their remarkable lives unfold before my eyes.

Rooted in the familiar events of Jesus and Mary's experiences found in the four Canonical Gospels, the researcher's erudite approach provides deeper insight into the enduring narratives that have captivated readers for centuries. Upon reviewing this book, I discerned that the events conventionally known to us possessed numerous interpretive gaps, particularly concerning their correct interpretation. However, Anton Sammut addressed these lacunae from diverse academic perspectives, dispelling any ambiguity, and the ultimate result is a notable scholarly achievement that bestows significant credibility upon him in the field of biblical studies.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this book is its portrayal of Jesus as a physical, mental, and spiritual healer, which is a central aspect of Jesus's ministry. While the four Canonical Gospels offer varying accounts of Jesus performing miraculous healings and expelling evil spirits, the true nature of these events has often been a veritable theological conundrum.

I've long been fascinated by the extraordinary abilities Jesus possessed, leading me to explore numerous books attempting to provide explanations and comprehend the underlying mechanisms of these phenomenological events. Unfortunately, I consistently found the explanations lacking in clarity and sometimes entirely implausible or, worse, utterly ridiculous.

However, the theme of healing presented in this work provides conclusive explanations in an academically lucid manner. The researcher's examination of Jesus's healings encompasses a wide range of academic disciplines including psychology, neuropsychology, and metaphysics which Sammut expertly engages with these academic domains, and the outcomes seamlessly converge, yielding insights that harmonize with the various disciplinary perspectives.

Through this in-depth inquiry, I gained insight into how Jesus performed these remarkable feats, not solely through divine intervention but through a complex interplay of natural and supernatural factors that only an illuminated being like Jesus could conduct with mastery. This brilliant assessment enhanced my understanding of the intricacies of Jesus's ministry and the implications it holds for our comprehension of human potential.

Fascinatingly, the researcher also investigates the proposition that Jesus may have acquired these healing techniques during his travels to the Indian Subcontinent, presenting unprecedented documented evidence for this thesis, which, upon rigorous examination, I must assert is irrefutable. This thorough academic inquiry highlights the cultural context of the era and the perceptions surrounding these events, providing an impartial understanding of Jesus's exceptional abilities.

Equally compelling is the portrayal of Mary Magdalene as more than merely a disciple but as a trusted confidante, the sole individual among all the disciples entrusted with propagating his teachings. I was also particularly struck by the scholar's academical professionalism especially in this field, which allowed me to witness not only the 'miracles' performed by Jesus but also the humanity behind the divine, as both figures navigated the challenges of their shared mission amidst widespread ignorance, misunderstanding, and persecution, which the people of that era could scarcely comprehend. The scholar's proficiency in providing precise interpretations of numerous conventional narratives – insights that were previously misunderstood or obscured – is extraordinary.

Whether one approaches The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 with curiosity or scholarly inquiry, it presents a rare opportunity to challenge preconceived notions. For the open-minded reader, I recommend exploring it, as unexpected answers to lingering questions may indeed be uncovered along the way.

The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 contains unique Spiritual teachings that will definitely help the reader to understand the true meaning of life. The erudite author has an innate ability to explain complicated subjects clearly so that everyone can fully understand the themes being proposed.

Through investigative research, he has managed to remove once and for all the misinterpretations that from time immemorial obfuscated the true teachings of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. I believe that Anton Sammut has completely revolutionized the way we understand The Gospels.

Originally, I had read this book in the Maltese version. The amount of research involved had intrigued me from start to finish, not to mention that this book portrays an alternative, yet factual interpretation of the Gospel with a view that is in sharp contrast to the Church`s "official" version of the events (mainly based on "blind faith").
I was thus drawn to read the English version once it also contains hundreds of historical notes.
A must-read for the open minded.
Amen.

I must admit that the author Anton Sammut pleasantly surprised me with this historical novel. In my eyes, it is extremely well researched, and honest in its content. To further enrich this masterpiece there are a whopping 636 historical notes and the fulcrum of the whole research is based on unique ancient sacred texts.

In the beginning, I met a very young and already spiritually mature Jesus, as I kept reading, I saw him growing up stronger - wiser, and full of compassion towards all creatures. Then, I was completely awestruck to discover that Jesus had learned from the Therapeutae and traveled to India and Egypt to master certain secret teachings from some of the greatest mystics, yogis, and brahmins of those times! Anton Sammut diligently explained why these uncomfortable truths were selectively hidden by the authors of the sacred scriptures.

Additionally, he presented an impeccable portrayal of the beautiful relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. Given this unique bond, Mary Magdalene had to contend with the confrontational approach of most of the disciples because they were jealous of the fact that Jesus was besotted by her altruism and love for wisdom. Another interesting fact was that thanks to Jesus's encouragement, Mary Magdalene founded her own community of female disciples, which helped other marginalized women to realize themselves.

This book is phenomenal, and I will treasure it deeply in my heart. I heartily recommend it to everyone who wants to explore who Jesus and Mary Magdalene really were and get out of the obscure clouds that shadowed us through the ages! Thanks, Anton Sammut for this revelatory Gospel!

A book that makes you think twice, at times more... on what we take for granted and simply a given fact. Religion is not history but a living experience.... and this book fundamentally challenges the reader to delve deeper into the meaning of believing! A must for readers who enjoy discerning spiritual challenges and admire writers who explore systematically into such matter. Highly recommended! Although author derives from a small country in the Mediterranean (Malta) this definitely did not hinder his ability to delve deep and challenge the traditional status quo and impact of centuries of traditional believes. A must for mature readers who seek to be challenged!

Over the last 2000 years, small communities of spiritually elevated people like the followers of Mary Magdalene, the Cathars, and various gnostic movements have always questioned the distorted versions of Jesus's and Mary Magdalene's teachings that were being proposed by those who built a money-making religious structure from their illuminative precepts. These genuine people lived a spiritually harmonious existence according to Jesus's and Mary Magdalene's original teachings about THE WAY - reincarnation - the true meaning of the kingdom of heaven - gender equality - the immutable law of karma and other enlightening teachings that gave a spiritual identity to those who wanted to follow that path. Ironically, these communities were systematically massacred for the very reason that they never wanted to become like those wolves in sheep's clothing that sermonized (and then did the complete opposite of what they preached) from their pulpits and lived decadent lifestyles in their opulent palaces.

The incredible news is that after hundreds of years, these genuine followers of Jesus and Mary Magdalene were ultimately vindicated. Finally, thanks to the visionary author and philosopher Anton Sammut and his acclaimed The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 we will get to know what Mary Magdalene and Jesus professed and who were the imposters who took advantage of their teaching for their gains. This unique Gospel contains an unbelievable 636 historical notes from which one can research further in-depth into other related topics.

The front cover of The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 has a distinctive glowing esoteric emblem that is quite spellbinding. It symbolizes the Divine masculine and feminine represented by the outlines of Jesus and Mary Magdalene's faces perfectly united as ONE cohesive entity. As I see it, the emblem on The Secret Gospel has the same powerful esoteric as well metaphysical attributes as the millenary Yin and Yang symbol.

I have to commend Anton Sammut for the elaborate prelude. It takes us back to the year 1235 BC when we find that the Hebrews were living in the Land of Canaan. After a comprehensive analysis of the tumultuous history preceding the birth of Jesus, we arrive at the year zero of the Current Era (circa) when in the land of Palestine, Jesus of Nazareth was born. This prelude is an essential tool for the reader and researchers alike, because it is a detailed historical resume that gives a clear understanding of the anthropological, geopolitical, and sociological dynamics that for hundreds of years shaped the volatile middle eastern territory and eventually the society in which Jesus will find himself living in.

In the first chapter, the author introduces us to Jesus's parents Maryām (Mary), and Ioséph's (Joseph). A thought-provoking fact that arises right from the beginning of this historical novel, is that Joseph's profession was that of a master stone mason and not a carpenter as we were erroneously thought to believe. For this misinterpretation, there is a very ingenious explanation that will leave the reader stupefied as to why Joseph was a stone mason and not a carpenter! Throughout the entire narrative, the reader will encounter a multitude of other fascinating facts like the aforementioned one.

As I progressed with my reading, I came across the controversial topic that has always divided the academic community: the lost years of Jesus. Mr. Sammut gives an astonishingly detailed account (always backed up by his spot-on research) of the extraordinary experiences that Jesus had gone through during these 'lost' years. One of the many revealing facts from the lost years is that The three Magi that came to visit Jesus were far more fascinating figures than one could have ever expected them to be.

Another two very contentious themes that I never expected that any Master historian of the middle east would have the ability to analyze correctly were: Jesus' travels outside Palestine and Mary Magdalene's ministry.

In both cases, Mr. Sammut excelled in his research and remarkably managed to correctly decipher these two disputable themes that from days beyond recall puzzled many people's minds. Incredibly, Jesus traveled to Egypt and India to continue to learn more about certain secret wisdom and esoteric practices that were thought and revealed to him by the enlightened Egyptian teachers and Indian Yogis. In this part of the Secret Gospel, there are many previously unknown aspects of Jesus' life that the reader will find quite surprising.

The second theme that the author formidably tackled was the emblematic figure of Mary Magdalene which was thoroughly examined and put in a completely new light from what we are accustomed to believing. The outcome that emerges from Mr. Sammut's research is that Jesus himself chose Mary Magdalene to be the only disciple to carry forward his ministry and not the other disciples as we were always (falsely) led to believe.

Another very significant revelation was that Mary Magdalene founded various philosophical schools that thought the original teachings of Jesus, and also small communities where people lived serenely, until, St. Paul and his fanatic adherents after him, amongst them, Saints, corrupt Popes, and power-hungry high-ranking ecclesiastical officials systematically erased these philosophical schools and all the other peaceful gnostic communities from the face of the earth so that they could firmly establish their misogynist religion based on blatant lies (that is the complete opposite of what Jesus and Mary Magdalene wanted) that still stands to this day.

I wholeheartedly thank Anton Sammut for The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 because, after centuries of cover-ups, it exposed the imposters and vindicated those genuine followers of Jesus and Mary Magdalene who comprehended perfectly well their teachings but were silenced, ironically because they followed Jesus and Mary Magdalene's way of life.

Today I finished reading once again The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0 -78 by Anton Sammut. The prelude gives an accurate analysis of the major historical events that occurred in the middle eastern region long before Jesus was born and their dramatic impact on the society of his time.

The story is exceptionally well crafted - it centers around the unique Spiritual bond that Jesus and Mary Magdalene experienced together but also on the true meanings behind the elevated teachings that Jesus imparted to his disciples and followers. The author diligently researched hundreds of historical documents and incredibly (and lucky for us!) was also able to bring back from obscurity an incredible amount of previously unknown secret teachings.

It is a Book I recommend and support and I am very glad to discover such an outstanding author Anton Sammut

Rediscovering the real Mary Magdalene

The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 opened a whole new universe of unique discoveries for all the readers that are interested in the enigmatic life of Mary Magdalene. Before reading this Gospel I never really understood why the most prominent patriarchal institution ever, went to incredible lengths to systematically obscure her image in every possible way.

Ironically, now that I know the whole story, the answer is quite simple: MARY MAGDALENE was chosen by Jesus himself to be the SOLE DISCIPLE to channel his enlightened teachings to the spiritually adept because only SHE possessed the Transcendental level of Consciousness to understand his teachings! Simply put, all the other male disciples had a very low level of consciousness so they could never really fathom the true weight and extraordinary significance of Jesus' precepts, let alone teach them correctly to others!

The intrepid author tore apart the shroud of mystery that has always obscured Mary Magdalene and now we have this unique opportunity to discern facts from fiction! To say the least, it was stunning to find out her true origins and learn about the millenary culture of this ancient heroine graced with a powerful and magnetic personality. She was also endowed with great intellect and was never afraid to speak her mind especially when the other disciples tried but never succeeded to belittle her! Mary Magdalene's selfless nature was put to the ultimate test when practically alone and defenseless stayed beside Jesus when he was facing the most critical moment of his entire life - in stark contrast, the other disciples' attitude was to run away trembling with fear!

Anton Sammut's incredible masterstroke was to reveal for the first time ever that Mary Magdalene WROTE of a very prominent Sacred Book that is central to the Christian faith and still in use to this day - incredibly this unimaginable secret is hidden in plain sight!!!! As I was reading the last few chapters of The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 I realized that all the frivolous misconceptions that have been circulating around for hundreds of years have been completely eradicated and finally, we got to know the REAL Mary Magdalene! I wholeheartedly thank the visionary author Anton Sammut for this unparalleled revelatory Gospel.

This book is extremely powerful. It managed to surpass my highest expectations. It is definitely a must-read. Isn't it just so great when you find a book that captivates you and completely drags you in and demands your full attention - this is definitely one of those books!! To be honest, Anton Sammut all your books have had this impact on me. You are a very talented author who impressively researches his work to the highest level. The references with historical notes is also a huge plus for me because when most of the evidence the author gives us is anecdotal, this is my favorite kind of read as it shows the depth in which the author has delved in to give the reader correctness and this is what you have achieved in doing.
I honestly do not think there is anyone who would not benefit from reading THIS book or any other book of yours. Thank you for all the knowledge you are sharing which is surely appreciated by many.

It was a unique experience reading The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0 - 78. Not in a thousand years could I have ever dreamt that the conundrum surrounding Jesus and Mary Magdalene's lives would be clarified! The most intriguing part of the narrative was the so-called unknown years of Jesus.

Mr. Sammut is inspiring because he had the nerve to reveal all the hidden historical documents related to the cover-up of the true significance of the unknown years of Jesus, then he brilliantly elucidated their importance so that everyone can understand who was the real historical Jesus! In the future, the hierarchy will have a lot of explaining to do to the faithful - for example, it has to clarify why over the centuries the most significant aspects of Jesus' and Mary Magdalene's lives were heavily distorted to accommodate their agendas!!!!

Mr. Sammut created a completely new spiritual paradigm shift that will radically affect the fundamental nature of how we understand the teachings of Mary Magdalene and Jesus.

The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 is specifically conceived by the author Anton Sammut so that the reader can clearly understand every aspect of this unique Gospel. As an introduction to the main story, a detailed explanatory prelude examines the most fateful historical events that took place ages before Jesus was even born and the negative effects that these events will have on society and on his upbringing later on.

In the timeless story of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, Anton Sammut distinguished himself as a very sensitive author that has the faculty to touch the heart and soul of the reader and also as a natural-born storyteller. With utmost respect, he recounts the indissoluble - Spiritual bond that connected Mary Magdalene and Jesus (I could not but really admire the poetic way he described their first extraordinary encounter!)

After the timeless narrative, the author concludes this Gospel with a thematic analysis divided into 4 distinct themes each reflecting major elements brought out from the book and beyond! These are of crucial importance because they contain previously unknown secret writings that give unequivocal historical proof and explore in-depth what really happened to Jesus and Mary Magdalene during and especially after the crucifixion of Jesus.

Reading through The Secret Gospel, I couldn't help but admire the fact that Mr. Sammut's top priority was to offer the readers a comprehensive historical analysis of previously unexplored but essential elements of Jesus and Mari's lives, even if this meant venturing into uncharted (academic) territory. An unequivocal case in point is the brilliant way in which Mr. Sammut conscientiously analysed the innermost mystical dimension of these two central figures of the Judeo-Christian religion!

Another equally important priority for Mr. Sammut was to bring to light Jesus and Mari's illuminative teachings that up until now have never seen the light of day. In this most impactful Gospel, innumerable salient passages cleared my mind from various erroneous beliefs that I had vis-à-vis Jesus and especially Mari. A significant passage about Mari that is particularly relevant to me is this one:

“Mari [Mary Magdalene] possessed a remarkably coherent understanding of what following The Way [Rahasya] meant. She believed that this spiritual philosophy taught that the world represented Man's mystic school from whence each person ultimately graduated by reaching the Enlightened State. Therefore, according to this spiritual discipline, human suffering is very subjective and manifested itself according to every person's personal karma or attitude to life. This meant that every life a person experienced imparted a certain number of spiritual lessons that may not have been experienced before in other lives. Ultimately, every experience could be relived and bring about spiritual growth, assisting the individual to move continually closer to the Enlightened State.”

The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0 - 78 was an invaluable companion to rediscovering Jesus and Mari in a whole new light.

This Gospel will definitely leave its mark! I was stupefied by Anton Sammut's investigative acumen regarding his in-depth research of The Gospels. In addition, the sheer amount of insightful facts backed up by the fascinating historical notes about Mary Magdalene and Jesus's lives is simply bewildering, to say the least.

While reading this Gospel I felt really happy and in tune with myself because finally, I had the opportunity to be able to learn and understand all about Jesus's illuminating level of Consciousness and the actual meaning of all his precepts which are way deeper and ironically much easier to understand now, thanks to the crystal - clear explanations.

The author had the audacity and the not-so-enviable task to reveal the most inconvenient of truths, that is that Jesus's sole purpose was to show 'The Way' for an individual spiritual regeneration and not to create a rigid and structured collectivist religion in his name! The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 is an indelible testament to Anton Sammut's academic rigor and inexhaustible devotion toward TRUTH!

The academic author Anton Sammut dared to take on the insurmountable challenge of writing this one-of-a-kind GOSPEL! The result: He completely rewrote the millenary history of The Gospels!

With profound insight, he researched into Jesus' charismatic personality and his enlightening esoteric teachings. These special teachings contain the true meaning of spiritual emancipation that Jesus wanted humanity to comprehend so as not to be fooled by any form of dogmatic religion.

As some readers have correctly pointed out, Anton Sammut has a very distinctive writing style. He can write on very technical and elaborate themes and still retain the clarity of his message thus making the reading experience for the reader a very enjoyable one.....I fully agree!

In the foreseeable future, The Secret Gospel of Jesus AD 0-78 will be extensively studied and will become the subject of ardent debates by many readers and also by professionals in the fields of Biblical and Gospels studies.
