This was a failure for me. I give it one star for my enjoyment. But I'll grant it s a second for being competently written, even if it was a competently written story that I did not at all enjoy. For one, it's written in the first-person PRESENT tense. No judgment to those who might enjoy this, but I HATE it. Honestly, I read this book as part of an author alphabet challenge and needed a Q. I might have DNFed very early otherwise.
But outside of the first-person present tense issue, I also make a concerted effort to avoid rape in the books I read for enjoyment. And while there is no on-page rape here, the WHOLE BOOK is basically just having to read the disgusting comments of rapists about the women they are going to rape (the game of it), the groping and torment of the women, the women's fear of being raped, and the complete discord of an author trying to convince readers that some of these men are honorable while allowing this to happen around them. That's it. That's the plot...all of it. There is NOTHING in that for me to enjoy, sadly, not even the romance.
Jex is complicit in the whole rape situation and would have remained so, except that he found his fated mate among the victims. But he makes it VERY CLEAR over and over again that he only cares about protecting her (not the other women) because she's his mate. This leaves the reader painfully aware that, if not for this mystical connection, he'd leave her to be raped and bred, just like every other woman. There is nothing romantic about that! There's also no build-up or getting to know one another. So, the whole thing hinges solely on the instant mate bond. Again, nothing to go "aww" about. But there also is very little sex (and only at the end), so there's also nothing satisfyingly steamy either.
All in all, I pretty much hated this. Do you know what it felt like? It felt like it was written by a man. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean. It was 100% the wrong book for my taste.
On a side note: The cover says book 1, and I read it as such. But according to GR and Amazon (and the fact that we meet the previous couple in this book), this is actually book 2 in the Fated Star Mates series. This annoys me because I apparently even have the previous book, but being labeled book 1, I didn't even search my shelves to check if I had a previous book. So, now I've read it out of order.

The only one for me
I can’t remember if I read the first book in this series, but I am so glad I read this one. The author may have taken these ladies from Earth by force, but she didn’t leave them alone. She built in their perfect mates to find them and save them before they reach the end of their story. This couple is just one of those examples. She was abducted and he’s meant to guard her, among other objectives, but a chance locking of their stare shifts their perspective and their goals. It takes them a while to reach their HEA with a couple of exciting side quests, meeting new friends, danger, action, and betrayal, but eventually they connect and learn that they are meant to be. The author did an amazing job of building the world and filling it with characters that I feel connected to. I am hoping they each get their own story and that we may even see some spin off series as a result. Because I can’t wait to read each and every one.

In questo secondo libro sui Vraxen, abbiamo uno scorcio dei centri di detenzione e selezione per la riproduzione. Lo so, sembra brutto dirlo in questo modo ma è così. Lauren si risveglia in una bara di plexiglas e sfido chiunque a non soffrire di claustrofobia, anche lei è stata rapita nel sonno e quello era il modo per trasportare il “bestiame”.
Viene portata in questo centro dove ci sono altre donne con cui ovviamente fa amicizia perché si sa che nei momenti tragici e difficili ci si dà forza a vicenda.
Jex è un assassino che si è infiltrato tra le guardie della ‘prigione’ per assassinare il medico Kalec che fa parte del Regime. Jex era nel Primo Battaglione e anche lui beh, ha il Sol con Lauren.
Dovrà lottare contro il tempo per salvarla, per uccidere il dottore, per aiutare l’aiuto dottore e scappare da tutta quella pazzia.
Durante la fuga di lui con le donne prigioniere, incontrano gli abitanti delle Terre Desolate che dopo un attento esame da parte del loro capo, li accolgono. Mi è piaciuto anche il fatto che i personaggi del libro precedente siano messi in questo come una sorta di unione tra il primo e il secondo romanzo. Dev che fa scuola a Jex su come trattare le donne umane non ha prezzo!
Jex è diverso da Dev, molto più capoccione del primo ma anche Lauren non scherza, ovviamente nessuno dei due vuole cedere sulle decisioni, per i Vraxen sono i maschi a decidere senza che le donne abbiano voce in capitolo.
Anche questo libro scorre via senza intoppi, conosciamo altre donne che sono state rapite durante il sonno e che penso in futuro possano diventare le protagoniste dei prossimi della serie. Una tra tutte mi ha colpita di più: Trinity, la tatuatrice tosta che non si fa mettere i piedi in testa. L’autrice ha creato donne forti, che lottano in tutti i modi per quanto a loro possibile dato che i Vraxen sembrano l’apoteosi del testosterone che gli esce da ogni poro.
Libro consigliato, come sempre, se come me amate gli alieni sexy a cui bisogna mettere un po’ di buon senso nella loro testolina da maschio dominante.

It was okay.
Needed an edit; there were spelling mistakes, additional/repeated words, grammatical issues etc
It’s marked as a HEA and not ending on a cliffhanger but like… I wouldn’t say that it’s a HEA haha. Nothing is resolved. I wouldn’t say either of the MCs are “happy” right now.
It felt as if it was just the first half of a book. But considering it’s a standalone… I’m a little baffled lol
I did enjoy the horror aspect of aliens kidnapping other races for breeding. I enjoyed the mystery around what the Regime DID to make their population die out in the first place. I thought the use of sol and fated mates being pieces of a star returning together was a sweet idea.
What I didn’t like was that every time the FMC felt scared or tried to express concern, or just have her own fucking opinion, the MMC had a hissy fit and guilt tripped her or just did something to make her bits tingle so she entirely forgot she was even upset.
They literally know nothing about each other. And don’t like anything about the other, except for the sex is just really good. Lol okay that’s healthy.
It was also pretty gross feeling to know that the MMC allowed his colleagues to rape and abuse women for YEARS (if I understand the terms that the author uses for time). It’s not till he thinks one is his sol that he decides her life (and only her life) is worth saving. He saves the other women purely because FMC won’t fuck him otherwise. And even then, he ditched them the moment he can and FMC follows blindly.
The vibrating cockring-esque anatomy was a hilarious touch that I’m not sure really added anything but making me think it was ridiculous.
Plot wise… Nothing really… happened. It would feel like we are about to get some serious big bad, but then it ends. Builds up again. But ends.
And one particular scenario was solved simply by swapping POVs, to the FMC that was unconscious. The whole thing happened while she was out and she wakes up to it already being over. So author didn’t have to explain how they got out of this sticky situation. It’s literally never explained...
So the book ends with FMC still feeling uneasy, the MMC annoyed that he doesn’t have a completely submissive sol that won’t follow him blindly and do everything he says. How’s that a HEA?
Also. Also hahaha… the alien calling it a pussy when I’m fairly sure he hadn’t heard another human refer to it like that, seemed so out of place. Considering he’s never even seen breasts or ass before.

Great series

Idk this book just didn’t feel finished. I loved the first part of it. Seeing the breeding facility and getting to see that part of the world was interesting. Seeing them interact with one sided language understanding was entertaining as well. But then they don’t really seem to like each other even though they’re fated mates and supposedly feel this need for each other. I figured it was just added conflict and an enemies to lovers kind of vibe, but when it ended nothing was actually resolved. They’re “happy together” but they still never addressed the fact that they don’t really seem to like each other and don’t actually agree on anything. None of their arguments were actually solved to say just shoved it under the rug and had sex to pretend there wasn’t a problem.

This had good bare bones, but didn’t fully hit every note for me. Pretty sure I like my alien romances with a bit more respect for women than what came through here.
It had the fated mates, abduction stories, alien and human pairing, alien societal rebellion plus mixed with breeding programs and males with sharp teeth and tails. Definitely intriguing just came off a bit abrupt with the storytelling.

It was mediocre at best. it had all the good elements for a fated-mates, forbidden romance story but it was handled messily. I mourn the potential this had.
It lacked just a little bit of angst and romance to make me enjoy it more.

I think this one must have been necessary to get more of the background in and set up for other stories. Didn’t love it though and I hated Jex the whole time. He did not get any better and was basically a dick the entire time. Hard pass.

They aren't treating her or the other women well, and if they can't fulfil their function as hybrid alien baby makers, they'll be disposed of. Jex is a former soldier from the First Battalion. Genetically engineered as a killing machine. He's at the base to provide security but has a secret mission - to kill the chief scientist running the experimental breeding problem. Because the Vraxen also have a big problem. They've used tech to manipulate their citizens and their world and now very few females can carry 'tyks', and those that are born are always males. 'The Regime' - the controlling elite of Vraxen society have even enslaved their own female citizens to try and get them to breed. But when that failed, they looked to the stars for other species to experiment on.
When Jex meets Lauren, the 'sol' bond is awakened in both of them. Jex knows this means they are bonded for life, and that he will do everything to keep her safe. But what can he do in a heavily armoured facility when he's one alien amongst many, and Lauren is about to be shipped offsite?
This book is a wild ride. Be prepared for fights to the death, intrigue, adventure, and of course a healthy dose of alien loving. In an alien romance series like Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarian series, you've got one location and the physical environment is fairly fixed. In Bonded to the Alien Warrior you've got space-ships, scientific facilities, wastelands, cities, abandoned settlements and more. You've also got a cast of fabulous characters at odds with each other and trying to navigate life or death and romantic situations that are completely beyond their imagining. There is also the fabulous concept of 'sol' which is beautiful and a fabulous way of explaining why a human and an alien from opposites sides of the universe can be bonded together.
I absolutely loved Bonded to the Alien Warrior. Quinn has set up a fabulous world with seemingly unlimited possibilities for future stories. If you love fated mates, action and adventure, and seven foot blue aliens with extremely versatile tails then you'll adore this book.

I was in a reading slump. I actually stopped in a middle of series I really loved and for a month I couldn't start reading. So, I decided I need an alien trash love story to kick-start my reading. But as they say- be careful what you wish for, you might just get it. Looked for a trash read and got one as trashy as they come. And not in a good way.
So. Lets break down what I disliked and liked about this book.
First and one of the integral parts of any story is world building. Here author employs a style of lengthy descriptions of main heroines family story that have no meaning whatsoever and then barely any description of the world and society she is currently in. Wham bam, here is an alien race who looks so and so and they are evil, but not all, and good or bad motivations and two suns in a sky. Here, world building done. Was it enough for me? Hell no! I still have no idea how this alien planet differs from earth apart from dual suns and green water. I still have no understanding of this alien society or history that led to current events. Quick telling in a sentence here and there does not do a job. So, we can cross an existing world building from out list of things this book had.
Next. Love story. Was there a love story? There is the fated mates part that infects the brain and reproductive organs and gives a shiny tattoo as a souvenir. There is a lot of crass talk, some sexy times and nearly zero communication or even willingness to find a common ground. Neither of them are interested in other as a person, their wants, plans for future, expectations or even a conversation not involving spilling seed. I am crossing love story from the list as well.
Rebellion part. There is mentions of one and we meet a couple aliens talking of one. That's about it . So, none of that as well.
Clear understanding of what is happening to human captives is missing too.
Now, lets look at things we DO have in this book.
A very weak story, not very likable or relatable main characters and very vague idea of what this story is about. I can only guess that introduction to other captive women is purely for options to give them each their own shitty book.
On to the good part! It looks like it may have served the purpose of getting me out of my slump, because now I crave a decent alien love story. So this is my reason for awarding this book 3 stars instead of 2. It did a job i picked it up for. BUT! If you are looking at this book as a potential read, be warned to have really low expectations. Have fun.

Neither of them are interested in other as a person, their wants, plans for future, expectations or even a conversation not involving spilling seed. I am crossing love story from the list as well.
Rebellion part. There is mentions of one and we meet a couple aliens talking of one. That's about it . So, none of that as well.
Clear understanding of what is happening to human captives is missing too.
Now, lets look at things we DO have in this book.
A very weak story, not very likable or relatable main characters and very vague idea of what this story is about. I can only guess that introduction to other captive women is purely for options to give them each their own shitty book.
On to the good part! It looks like it may have served the purpose of getting me out of my slump, because now I crave a decent alien love story. So this is my reason for awarding this book 3 stars instead of 2. It did a job i picked it up for. BUT! If you are looking at this book as a potential read, be warned to have really low expectations. Have fun.

DNF. Rating it because I’m frustrated with the author for writing Jex and being so callous about the horrors of this world she created.
I read book 1 and really liked Lilly and Dev. I liked Dev more than Lilly. I liked the world building. I liked that he stopped everything when he discovered his co-pirates had a captive and he fought for Lilly. He was a good man.
Jex is not that. I liked Lauren. This world is dark and harrowing and frightening, and I think the author has done well showing us the terrors there. I’m on edge. I don’t want to be here. It works. Lauren seems smart. She keeps her mouth shut. She learns from her failed escape. I wanted Jex to see her, and get her and all the other women out. But what I didn’t want was the internal monologue of a selfish asshole while he stares at the wall and fakes enthusiasm for his fellow guards r*ping these women. Trading them like Pokémon cards. Betting on them like horses at the track.
From Jex’s first POV I hated him. I thought here’s a guy who is quietly systemically taking down this regime from the inside. He’s doing what he can. A quiet hero. Nope. He’s saving money for HIMSELF to get HIMSELF out. Who cares about all the women he’s trafficked to this horrid place? Who cares that they’re r*ped, impregnated against their will, killed in the process? Not Jex. We get a couple acknowledgments that he is in fact complicit and facilitating the abduction, assault, r*pe, and eventual murder of innocent females, but there is no guilt behind them. No internal torment. He thinks them callously, apathetically, like this is just fact. It gave me the ick. He just stares at the wall, pretending he’s not there so he’s not culpable. Oh he’s disgusted, but not enough to do anything about it. Only once he touches Lauren and realizes they’re mates does he feel anything about the situation. And what does he feel?
“Already the desire to protect and mate with the female itches beneath my skin, impossible to scratch. If she’s my sol, she’s my mate, but I won’t assault her like Dru plans to…. … This changes Dru’s game. Only I can f*ck my sol, which means the *yertza* needs to keep his filthy hands and cock away from this female.”
Yeah,.. so he’s upset about the betting game fellow guards play about choosing a woman, r*ping her, and seeing who survives (among other things). And this gem of a thought was when I DNF. Because it’s gross. Selfish. R*pey all on its own. I’ll check out the other in the series because I like the world building and I liked the first couple, but I’m out on Jex.

This was an okay book. It could use more editing, and maybe some Alpha or Beta readers. I felt like there was a lot of things missing from this story that would have made it more interesting that what it was.
Very little world building in this story. Just a basic description of the planet.. well not even a basic description. It has 2 suns, green water, and its hot on the planet.. that is about all we know about it. The ruling party of the planet is called the Regime and apparently they are corrupt. We never really get a good picture about how or why they are corrupt other then they used tech to much and the people believe they have killed off all or most of their own women. And are now abducting other species (humans among them) and experimenting on them to try to save their now doomed race.
There really isn't much to the love story either. No real communication between the MMC and FMC in this story. No hopes and dreams of either is talked about with each other. Just some kind of instant connection that draws them to each other. Which in some stories is okay. But this one was just lacking. No understanding between the couple as to their wants and needs to be happy people. Just lots of mistrust and lack of understanding the differences between them. With no real trying to understand the differences. It just doesn't feel like a complete story. Huge parts of it are missing that would have made it a much better book.

Lauren is abducted along with a group of women and wakes in a breeding facility off world. The choice they will be faced with is to breed with giant blue aliens or be sold at auction. Lauren catches the eye of Jex, one of the guards and as the story unfold we find that they are sol mates. Jex has his hands full trying to get Lauren and the women out of the facility. In the process we are dealt a smorgasbord of blood, treachery, emotion, corruption, adventure, hurdles, and in among all this there is love. Not just for Lauren and Jex but for at least one other couple.
We meet up with Dev and Lilly from a previous book as well as some of the other characters such as Finbar, who are living in the Wastelands.
Kyla Quinn writes a darn good story with strong story line and characters and very easy to read.
Highly recommend this story.

This was a decent read though not a book I'd want to re-read. The world building sort of started badly, I was a bit confused in the first 1/4 of the book, but it improved enough to grasp what's going on to a degree after that. I think part of the problem, after checking to do this review, I noticed another book that I hadn't read- "Taken by the Alien Pirate" (it's not labeled as book 1 but book 0.5), but is Dev & Lily's story (secondary characters in this book. So I wonder if some of the world building might be in that book as I got the impression that Lily might be the first human captive introduced to this alien planet. I did feel like the end was a bit rushed, overall, it was enough to keep me reading. Though I wasn't impressed enough to want to continue with the series.

Action and Romance
Started with the prequel novella (since this might be considered to be a linear story series) and have finished the first full-length book. The first few chapters move a little more slowly than the remainder of the book, but they do set the stage for the remainder of a fast-paced, action-packed story. The pairing of human women and Vraxen males as “sol mates” makes for an interest study in compromising in relationships and adds elements of love and romance. Looking forward to reading the remainder of the series to learn who is “sol mated” and what adventures they have together.

World building is good, character development is not terrible but the FMC is mid throughout. Spice was good when it finally hits.
The book ended so abruptly that it really pissed me off. All that work and words spent world building and then nothing when it starts to really get good plot-wise? UGH. I was going to read the second book anyway to find out what happens to the other female humans and the over-arching plot. There was honestly no need to cut it off like that. It was actually insulting and cheap AF.
Spice: 3/5 not super descriptive or noteworthy but a fine climax to the angst and tension.

Lauren is abducted along with other women by aliens, the Vraxens. Jex is a disillusioned Vraxen. His culture is dying out and the leaders (Regime) try to fix the problem with their own and other species’ women by kidnapping and breeding them without consent. Jex was part of their military but when they started committing atrocities, he quit. While working as a guard, Jex realizes Lauren is his sol (mate). There’s a lot they need to learn about each other. I felt that their reactions were realistic and can’t wait to see what’s coming next.

In this second book of the Fated Star Mates Series, Lauren wakes up in a cryo-chamber after being flown across the Universe. First, she freaks out because she is claustrophobic, then because of the three blue aliens in front of her. When Lauren wakes up again, she is in a room with 10 or so other women. One of the guards for this new room turns out to be her fated mate. There is plenty of action, a lot of steam, and a HEA. Highly recommended.

Lauren finds herself abducted from her bed in the middle of night and discovers she is to be bred with an alien race. The language barrier makes it interesting to see how little trust is developing between Lauren and Jex. Then Lauren gets a translator implanted and although now she can understand the words she and Jex must learn about each other's species in order to find their HEA. This story is pact full of action and will keep you on your toes. I did not read book one first and I was not lost in the least bit. Very well written.

Big and Blue!
I like the world that was built for this and the following stories. The “men” are big, blue and have horns and tails. And most have a very strong sense of honor. The lead character, Jex, has an even stronger need to protect after finding his soul mate in the abducted woman from Earth, Lauren.
The story moves quickly along, the action at times is intense. Oh, and it does get steamy at times.
This was an nice quick read…and I wouldn’t mind seeing their story continue!

Worth a read
I must admit I enjoyed the first book more. This book wasn't bad by any means, but the characters were harder to love, especially the male lead - who was a little too morally grey for my personal preference. I still love the concept and how the characters struggles are eventually overcome, but I prefer to have that moral line in the sand from the get go and if I was the FMC I wouldn't have put up with even half the MMCs behaviour. That said, all of this is a question of my personal taste only, and I will still be picking up the next book in the series.

Cultural Clashes
I enjoyed this book because it had just enough violence and action to keep it interesting. The alien Jex’s crudeness could have been a turnoff but I understood right away that due to cultural differences there was no way he could have acted ‘human’ and the relationship between he and Lauren click the way it did. Their very differences is what the book was all about. I like this series.

Wow, I loved Jex and Lauren's story so much!
Wow, Mrs. Quinn is a new to me author and this is the second book of hers that I've read. And after reading the first book I found that I needed to know what was going to happen next, the second book didn't disappoint Lauren and Jex's story was great and what they go through to get to a happy place in their relationship was so hard for Lauren, with her being a human on an alien planet. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

Vraxen life
This is a strange society with underlying tones. Some good, some confusing, but Vraxen life at its worst n best. Tech has destroyed the decency n medical knowledge seeks to replace what was lost as few births occur.

Bonded to the Alien Warrior
I enjoyed this book very much. I liked the way that the author gave each of the characters some very serious issues that they had to face and work through. Each character managed in the end to accomplish them and realized that these issues made them stronger in themselves and in there love.

Get out together
Jex & Lauren's story he's on a mission to kill the head of the breeding program and get any information, but when he saw her he knew he mission was to save her. Lauren woke up in a box a she couldn't breathe and when these alien let her out she knew she had to fight cuz she wasn't going back in the box!

Bonded to the alien warrior
It was ok, it wasn't until 60% that i realised I'd read book one. There was great steamy scenes and i loved the whole sol thing, but it waffled on a bit too much about the regime and the tech and that got a bit monotonous and blah. Not sure if I'd read any more, but maybe one day.

these men are too harsh. like yes i’m used to alien warriors who unalive at even the smallest blink towards their mates but these warriors are like ruthless and very rude and condescending to their own mates. i don’t think i’ll continue this series unfortunately. i am very curious about the plot though and want to know what happens…
