It's uncommon for me to finish a book by Emilia and not love it completely, so I'm kinda sad that in general I didn't like Cam and Jamie romantically speaking.

I know that ~when a Kincaid knows, they know~, but this was stretching it a bit too much with them spending only a week together, barely knowing each other and four years apart, I really didn't feel that chemistry that other couples have. Also, Cam was SO annoying for most of the book... I know her circumstances, but girly didn't use her critical thinking skills for most of the book and I don't know how Jamie put up with her.

So Cam and Jamie are a two star to me. The other one is for Soph, my only queen and best character in all these series, who definitely stole the show and for the crumbs of the other characters as well.

Omfg!!!! I just cant!! This book hell this whole world Emilia has created with every single character has been amazing!! I can never put down her books but this was just omg!! She has a way of making you feel for these characters and the things they go through and falling in love with all of them.. hell even the giant dogs haha! But there are not enough stars or things i can say to tell you how amazing these books and this author are and how much i VERY HIGHLY recommend all of them! I cant wait to see whats coming next because it just keeps getting better and i love the escape every books gives me and know someday it has to stop but i hope it isn’t anytime soon!

While I will admit that I will continue to read EF books about this crazy town I can say that this one is the worst.
Again stack deck is a let down, while some have been ok so far this is the worst series she has written. Maybe she’s running out of material. She rushes them out, they get shorter and shorter and most of the story is rehashing stuff we already know about, explaining characters and things we know.
This is the 3rd or 4th time it’s revolved around a club...said woman goes to club...works in club....family/partner doesn’t like it....woman gets involved with said clubs owner!! I mean come on!!!
First of all why the hell would they go back to the place the crime was committed?? And live there and Will still works at the docks? Come on the police would have recognised him.
And then why would Cam/tori/Quinn work in a club and get close to the owner when she’s been sheltered all her life by her brother.
Would have been better if she actually was pregnant and run away with a baby etc and was maybe selling herself to feed the baby!
Jamie was so lovable and deserved such a better story in my opinion. I loved Sophia in this book and found I was looking forward to her bits instead of Quinn’s.
Also it ends too bluntly when nothings even happened.....they get together in the last bloody page!
Also found it annoying that she says she’s on the pill.....she’s just been kidnapped and didn’t pack but has taken her pill everyday? Yeah right cause she hasn’t been sexually actively for 4 years wouldn’t her overprotective brother wonder why she’s on the pill? And I’m sure he didn’t pack it for her!
Author doesn’t take criticism well either. She gives to much of the books away before they are released so I’ve stopped reading the blurb. Already ruined the fact that we know Will has a book with Liv also so we know he must return.

FINN IS GOAT!

Emilia has done it again! Every book I tell myself I’m not going to let it hurt me. And for some unknown reason I always end the book with tears in my eyes (sometimes happy, sometimes sad), but my heart is full. Oh, let’s not forget all the full blown laughter! She tells a story in such a way that these characters sneak into your heart when you aren’t paying attention. Much love and appreciation to her and all her hard work <3

Amazing

Every time I read a book by Emilia, I'm constantly checking how much I've read and get sad when I'm close to finishing. Her world has a way of pulling you in and then you never want to leave. I can't recommend her books enough. She is very talented and has created this amazing world that I wished was real. Crazy Eights is just another masterpiece that deserves all the stars!

Just as a feared this one was a Meg and Marc situation for me. I loved Jamie and his heart. He carried this whole book and even then I wanted tell him he was dumb and move on so many times. Cam/Tori/Quinn annoyed me to no end and I am beyond sad she is Jamie's one. I wanted better for him.

Shouldn’t they be 22 instead of 23… 4 years has past, they were 18 so that would make them 22. “Get out of my life, Jamie Kincaid. I never invited you into it five years ago” They were 17 when they met + 5 = 22…

I thought the first book was so cute but this book was a bit boring. For some reason I didn’t really like Cam/Quinn in this book. I get the reason why she became a stripper to get information from her boss because he’s powerful and has the resources to possibly prove her brother’s innocence but she straight up knew he was sketchy and got bad vibes from him.

And I’m a little in love with Jamie myself so I don’t think he deserved all of the heart ache she caused him. Her telling him she’s been around the block. Ugh, my heart. “And I’m not really interested in yearning for a guy I once loved. There are a billion more in the world, and they all come with less emotional baggage.” Even if she did lie, it still hurt me as much as it hurt Jamie when she talked about other men.

And I HATE that she told whoever she could that he was kidnapping her or abusing her. Things got out of hand QUICK. Like wtf did she think was going to happen when she was going off telling people those things?? That he was only going to spend ONE night in jail for kidnapping?? Kidnapping is a serious offense and you can be put away for YEARS. Did she think those people in the bar/restaurant was going to let an abusive man go free? He could have gotten knocked out or killed or something during the bar fight and some bad stuff could have happened to her too. I get she was trying to get away to get back to her brother but still that was just.. messed up, she took it too far.

“My crime was loving you! For wanting you like I want air. I’ve done nothing wrong, Q! In all these years, I was good to you, I was loyal, I was honest. I loved you, and showed you how forever could be, if only you’d give it a chance.”

“And in payment, you’ve lied, stolen, had me beat to shit every chance you get, and the first time I see you after four of the longest years of my fucking life, you have some other asshole touching you. Kissing you. Kissing, Q!”

“I’m going outside for a bit.” I stop with my hand on the doorknob, and look back over my shoulder. “You’re probably gonna escape through the bathroom while I’m not looking, and I’m gonna chase you because my job is to make sure you keep living. But maybe give me ten minutes to rest first.” I pull the door open and sigh. “I’ve never been so fucking exhausted in my life.”

“My entire body aches. My feet, my knees, my stomach and chest. My arms sing, and not just the one with the bad shoulder. My head rings, and my back is in turns tingly and furiously ablaze beneath my skin. I’m bruised from head to toe, and yet, my heart still manages to shout above all the rest and remind me that there is a pain worse than a strike to the head.”

And here's Sophie speaking some truth.
“Get out of my studio,” she orders. “I wasn’t at your homecoming last night, but I got word of Jamie’s condition once you arrived. He came home in bad shape, and it was because of you. Your big mouth causes damage to others, and your inability to control your attitude is unattractive to me."

*Sigh* That bar fight really got to me and I couldn’t enjoy the rest of the book as much. Even with all of the cutesy stuff and Jamie being Jamie. Idk, this book didn’t do Jamie justice and he deserved better.

A terrific series

4 1/2 stars

This story was a bit different from the others in this series, which included an enormous amount of secrets, lies, betrayals, and heartbreak. It's ironic that everyone seems to think that this family has been, and continues to be, handed everything on a golden platter. When in reality, most of them have been through unimaginable horrors, tragedies, as well as the fact that they have all worked extremely hard to get where they are. This second generation may not have had to work as hard as their parents or grandparents did, but they're not spoiled rich kids either.
When Jamie finds his One, he had to fight for her from the moment they met. Nothing is as it seems, and unfortunately, it only gets progressively worse. Will he finally be reunited with his love, or will he be the first in his family to not get his forever love? It's certainly not a story to be missed!
I have to admit that I wasn't fond of Cam/Quinn/or whatever you want to call her. I have absolutely no problem with independent, strong, self-reliant women. In fact, I would love to see more. However, the brash, mean (boarding on cruel most of the time), lying, thieving, selfish woman is possibly the last person I would have paired with Jamie. JMO!!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

The Crazy Eights book is book eight of the Stacked Deck Series, a spinoff of the Rollin On series. This series focuses on the second generation of the characters in The Rollin On series. All by the same author Emilia Finn. Please start with the Rollin On Series, PLEASE. I cannot stress that enough. It is not required, but it makes these so much better. You need all the background from the first series.

I can honestly say that this book was one of the worst that I read by this author. This book part two of the Jamie Kincaid and Quinn story. I understand that he has his heart set on her, but she is nothing but trouble; she lies, steals, and is abusive to Jamie. If the roles were reversed, no one would be standing up for him if he acted this way. She tried to get him killed on more than one occasion. I was more turned off by this book than anything I have read by her before. Granted, I am invested in the family by this point and want to read the series, but this Quinn character is awful and immature.
The character development was good and well thought out; it built on the reader's knowledge from previous books.

Frustration on Wheels

Jamie Kincaid was left in the dust when Cam and Will shot out of the parking lot days after Stacked Deck. Four years later, he's still certain she's the one.

Cam, or is it Tori? Quinn? has run again, standing by her brothers side to love, support, and protect him. And to find out who is setting him up for murder. She's got a couple of new jobs and a potential way to find out more information... but things aren't always what they seem.

There are a few books I've read over the years that either make me put it down and walk away or find someone to vent to about how frustrated I am. This is one of those books.

Both Jamie and Cam/Tori/Quinn have stayed true to who they are deep down. Jamie, ever thr sweet and caring romantic, and Quinn, the family-first pessimist. It's these qualities that really drove this book.

There are parts of the plot that I would have liked to have seen, however they were outside the purview of the main storyline. It started out strong and still got me my HEA.

Jamie gets his HEA

I read this via my ku subscription and am leaving my review voluntarily.  This is part 2 of a duet that started with book 7, Seven Card Stud. The series itself is a spin-off from the Rollin On Series, which is worth reading. This author has a gift for story telling.

Triggers: some violence/memories of child neglect

**spoilers**
Jamie has waited for Cam/Quinn for 4 years. He still loves her and misses her. He decides to work with Sophia to try to find her.
Cam aka Quinn (and aka as Tori) misses Jamie but her ties with her brother Will keep her away. She is constantly putting herself in harms way which is ridiculous for someone who is supposed to be street smart.
Jamie finds her. He gets Sophia to help Will and then Cam, going by Tori now but Jamie calls Quinn is bratty, rude, ungrateful and all around hard to like.
Eventually things get resolved. Jamie is very likeable, Quinn redeems herself. HEA

What a roller coaster of emotions that was 😩

Okkaayyyy. I’m going to be honest, i love this book but...it was so hard to like Quinn in this one. She was my least favorite person in this book. My heart kept breaking for Jamie to the point where I literally thought to myself, that he deserves better & would be best if he’d just move on without her 😆 I know, I know. Sue me lol but man, it was one thing after another and Jamie’s always in the cross fire. He has such a big heart & of course a Kincaid through & through. And you know what they say, when a Kincaid knows, he knows. Now on to the next... btw Emilia, please take it easy on my poor heart 😅

I can’t get enough

I think Jaimie might be my favorite Roller. (Sigh). What can I say, “when ya know, you know” 😉. Who wouldn’t want a man to hold on and fight for you that long?? He would literally do anything for Q. These books just keep getting better and better. I wish the series could go on forever, but eventually it will come to an end and I will be heartbroken. Until then, I plan on eating them up and daydreaming about sexy man muscle and kick ass women who always put family and loyalty first.

Words cannot do justice

Laughs, tears, smiles, heartbreak - you get all of this over and over again as you sail through this book. And yes, you sail through it because you won’t want to put it down. This series proves to be attention stealing and unstoppable in the most awesome way, and Crazy Eights is another fantastic addition to the series. As always, you will be immersed in the story and find yourself in the car and be right there in the action and emotions because the writing is that good!

I am loving the stacked deck series and I really thought book 7/8 duet was going to be my favorite. Loved book 7. But book 8 not so much. I did not care for the FMC -whatever name we are going with. Absolutely loved Jaime. But Quinn was horrible. She was horrible to him. She was horrible to others. She was horrible for 90% of the book. No connection with her. She needed sone redemption. I could have dealt with her dumbness if the reader was able to experience happy times with the couple together and committed but that doesn’t happen until the end.

When you know, you know!!

When we last left off, Cam was speeding away with her brother and left Jamie wondering if he lost the love he just found. Do they find each other again? Do we find out why Cam & Will are running? I loved getting more of the Rollin’ and Checkmate families. I fall in love with them more and more in every book. Emilia once again shows that a families love always wins.

Making The Right Choice

These books really need to be read in order to know what is going on. This book is the second part to go with book seven. After spending four years apart, Jamie Kinkaid is ready to have his women back. Always having to be on the lookout, when Jamie goes on National TV and tells people there is a half million dollar reward to help find her, she panics. And calls him. Leading to her being traced. It all explodes from there.

Nope-Spoiler Alert! First no for E.Finn..breaks my heart.

I love E. Finn but Quinn is just annoying. Jaime deserves better. Caring for your brother, yup, I have 2 and would go to the mat for both. I'll fight and maime for them but to physically hurt/emotionally hurt someone over and over again. Possibly send them to prison to get away from them? That's not love, I don't know what that is. None of the feels with this one...no crying. She just crap!

Inconceivable!

Once more Emilia Finn has drawn us into the love and loyalty that lives in Roller Town. She continues being a sneaky author in how she interweaves the past and present of her characters. Stories within the stories. She draws the reader in and makes us to become part of Roller Town.

Amazing read!!!

I have no idea how she does it, but this is another million star read from Ms. Finn! I absolutely love Jamie, he's this great mix of sweet and alpha that is pretty perfect. Quinn keeps him on his toes for sure! I can't help but like her and her thieving ways and the spinning thing. If you haven't read Emilia Finn books yet, you should. You will thank me.

I can’t ever put these books down!

The only bad part of these books is when they are over and I miss these characters that I have come to love over the years. Another book that made me laugh, cry, and swoon! I love watching how the Rolling on and Checkmate crews connect and the glimpse into the lives of all my favorite people! Well done Emilia, another winner!

Absolutely dumbfounded

Just when I think I know where the story is going, sucker punch and twist. This book is brilliant. I love Jamie to pieces. I love Quinn's loyalty. I really want to read about the 2nd dance Quinn is choreographing! Almost as much as I want to know who won the fight. Emilia is quickly ruining me for all other authors, especially sports books.

Five stars

I’ve read every book of this series and the ones leading to this one. I have the next one marked on my calendar. I love the family dynamic that has literally come from the beginning of the family and watching(reading)these individuals’ stories of how their lives turned out in their future. Can’t wait for Elusius to be released 12/4!

Crazy Eights is crazy amazing

Emilia Finn creates such a detailed world for her readers to escape into. This book has a bit of a Checkmate feel to it and I love it! Jamie Kincaid is picture-perfect book boyfriend material. Funny, protective, hot as sin, and just the right amount of commanding. This book from start to the very last word had my heart racing and wanting more!
