A well written story. Since writing Claw, Katie has improved her skills, tightened up her descriptions and removed superfluous elements which tended to drag the story out unnecessarily. She is drawing excellent word pictures with fewer words. I am enjoying these prequel novellas quite a bit...eagerly awaiting more installments.
When I first moved to Florida, I was unaware of Florida's fire ants. I was wearing sandals. I saw a little red ant on the top of my foot. Then it bit me. It hurt and it itched. I had a pimple there for the longest time. It slowly dissipated and left a white scar. For about a year I had that white scar before it disappeared. I cannot fathom a red ant being so large. I wouldn't even want to get near one! Now, add arachnids into the mix, I would be ready to move out! Recommended reading but keep your feet off the floor!!!
Well in this story we find out that Caleb Cantrill survived his adventure in the cavern. However there are some creatures from the cavern also on the loose. I found this story more interesting, because the cast of characters is filled out more. Not much scary things happening, but that is okay as the story has certain charm to it. So it was an enjoyable read for me.
A wonderful novelette from a great writer. The characters were interesting and well-rounded, and the plot was fast and easy to follow. Cannot wait for more writings from this author.
Wonderful additional story in the Claw series. I love these stories. It feels so comfy falling back into the town with the characters no matter what year it is. Looking forward to more in series.
