"In fairy tales there is always a Prince Charming and a bad guy. In real life Prince Charming is the bad guy."

From debuting English author Harley Reid comes an opposites attract romance about love, loss, finding yourself, and getting lost in the right person.

ETHAN

Widower.
Single father.
Notorious womaniser.

Ethan Brooks is one of the most violent men I have ever laid eyes on.

When I accepted the job to look after his daughter, the last thing I expected was to fall in love with everything I despise.

My heart belongs to the hottest guy in MMA and that can only mean one thing...

I'm going to get my heart broken (again).

MIA

Timid.
Niaive.
Hopeless Romantic.

Mia Cooper is kind, caring and everything that I am not.

When I invited her into my home, I didn't realise that she would be the best thing to happen to this family since my wife.

I can't get her out of my head and I'd do anything to protect her.

But as much as it kills me, there is no way we can ever be together.

Harley Reid writes steamy contemporary romance. When she's not busy writing about British small towns and cinnamon roll heroes she spends her time binge watching Sweet Magnolias and watching reruns of Hart of Dixie, walking her dog, or singing. Her love of writing is second only to her love of reading. If you like her books, she highly recommends you check out Devney Perry and Corinne Michaels. They're kind of her idols.

I received a ARC and it was a honour to read it.
Fight Like A Girl is a cracker of a debut novel for Harley Reid.
Mia - pretty, kind and sweet has just come out of a relationship when she gets a Nanny job with Ethan's daughter.
Ethan - MMA star, gorgeous and grieving over his ex wife.
The attraction between them is angsty and hot, Reid leaves you feeling hot with the slow burn, DAMN!!!
Alpha male, sports and forbidden love tropes.
I don't do spoilers so trust me go and read it.

5 triangle choke hold stars for Harley Reid's debut novel

I am truly blown away that this is a debut novel, the writing is top notch. Character and plot development flowed perfectly through the whole story. It was so easy to read.

Mia is shy and sweet. Ethan is not ;-), well not to the outsider-but you'll need to read this to see what I mean- When Mia interviews to be the nanny to Ethan's 7 year old daughter her day couldn't go any worse but he knows from the second he sees her that she is right for the job. After accepting the job the three fall into a routine, but can they keep it professional when the tension is so high?

You can feel the connection between the characters pretty quickly but you can also understand their resistance to each other. The situation is forbidden and they couldn't be more different. You are guaranteed some humor, some tears, some love and what we are all really looking for, some STEAM. The use of supporting characters was perfect as well, they played just enough into the story without being overwhelmed by them. I was so mind-blown by the twists and revelations in this story-you will never see it coming and it was perfection.

Amazing job Harley! I can't recommend this more.

I was lucky enough to be an Advance Reader for Harley and this book gave me all the feels. This book follows an MMA fighter who has loved and lost his wife, leaving him alone with their daughter. He is looking for a nanny and finds Mia, a down on her luck just got cheated on and broken up with kind of a hot mess. Normally Mia likes to be prepared but her life has recently fallen apart and she is looking at this job as a new start. This unlikely couple falls into like but they are both denying the attraction, trying to keep things professional. When that fails they admit their feelings but unfortunately a friend betrays one of them and then a family member betrays the other. Thankfully these two come together for a very happy ending.

Fantastic Debut Novel from Harley Reid!!!

You guys ... This book is SO GOOD. Sweet and Steamy and filled with one amazing hero. I feel so honored to have received an ARC copy.

Mia is a down on her luck 20-something just out of a long term relationship. She takes a job as a nanny for Ethan, a MMA fighter.

Even though Mia is sweet and shy, she is not a pushover and knows her worth. She was a breath of fresh air and the attraction between her and Ethan was very real. And Ethan, oh Ethan! He is strong and a little bit jaded but a big old cinnamon roll on the inside. Fun side characters round out this quick and steamy read.

Fight Like A Girl is a very good debut novel by Harley Reid. Ethan and Mia make quite an interesting pair, both of them very different individuals. Ethan has gone through a terrible loss and is now raising his daughter on his own. Mia went through a heartbreak and is looking for sort of a new start. The book is focused on these two getting to know each other after Ethan hires Mia as his daughter's nanny while he trains to go back to ring. There are various side characters that help frame the story, Mia's sister being my absolute favorite! Mia quickly builds a cute relationship with Ethan's daughter and of course affection for the, ehm, daddy. While I have to say that nanny romance is not my usual thing, I didn't mind it one bit in this one. What I was missing a bit was a build up in their chemistry at the start. Personally, I didn't feel much of a chemistry between those two until first illicit interactions. The book is relatively on the shorter side, so at times the story was a bit rushed.

Nevertheless, Fight Like A Girl is a very solid debut release for Harley! She demonstrated her talent with this book, showed that she has knack for plotting out interesting reads. I'm certainly here for her next books!

WHAT A FABULOUS DEBUT BOOK!!

FIGHT LIKE A GIRL
BY HARLEY REID
RELEASING MARCH 31ST

This has to be one of the quickest reads I've ever done, once I started well let’s just say I finished it in record time it was such a fantastic story.

Ethan Brooks is a strong, sexy hot as hell professional fighter who is focused on being highly disciplined in his work and private life which leaves no room for relationships.
When double tragedy struck him a few years earlier he decided that commitment wasn't for him and adopted a no strings approach to protect his heart after all happy ever afters don't exist.

When he decides he needs some help with his day to day life he can look no further than the delightful, apprehensive, gorgeous, drenched to the bone Amelia Cooper who applies for the job and quickly becomes his number one choice. Sarah Ethan’s sister doesn't agree with his decision, she believes Mia isn’t the person for the job.

Amelia (Mia) is at the time in life where she is ready to put the past behind her even though she has to deal with the manipulating ways from her mother and ex-boyfriend. However having decided to continue the search for her happy ever after the fairy tale wedding just like all those Disney princesses she loves so much, and also better living arrangements she is delighted to accept the offer of a job from Ethan Brooks.

There is instant attraction that is just flies off the scale! Alongside some very hot moments this book not only brings heaps of romance and heartfelt emotional moments it also brings lots of suspense and some heart stopping moments.

It’s definitely a book you won’t be able to put down once you’ve started.

I'm now wait impatiently for more from Harley Reid!

Thank you for trusting your debut novel in my hands.

Fight Like A Girl is Harley Reid’s debut book. And, if this is the quality we get now, she’s going to blow our minds, the more she grows as an author. I am really excited to be included in the ARC group. You could easily read this book in one sitting. It will catch your attention from the beginning and have you turning the pages wanting to know all the answers.

Ethan Brooks, aka The Sandman, is a MMA star who took two years off after the sudden death of his wife. He has a reputation that precedes him, both professionally and personally.

Amelia Cooper is starting over after her four year relationship implodes and she finds herself sleeping on her sister’s couch. In need of a job she applies to nanny Ethan’s daughter, Madison despite her personal feelings towards him.

As they settle into a routine and become more comfortable around one another they open up about their lives. A single kiss has the potential to change everything. But, losing his wife and the state of his marriage when she died, has Ethan’a feelings closed off. And, Mia wants all the romance and commitment.

When Ethan steps up to accompany Mia to a charity ball her ex will be attending, everything changes. Unable to deny their intense chemistry and their deepening feelings towards one another, they decide to move forward. Insert some very hot sexy times 😉

They begin to make plans and Ethan prepares to fight for the title. However, the past and family interference puts their future in jeopardy.

Kudos Harley- this is an amazingly sweet, sexy, interesting and attention grabbing read. A second chance at love for Ethan and Mia and the epilogue... gah, Give me more daddy Ethan.

This debut book by Harley Reid provides all the feels! Loved seeing the love bloom between Ethan and Mia, and watching the character growth for Ethan. He began hesitant to take a chance on love again. Mia started out afraid of Ethan's size and strength, especially given his MMA fighting career. She has also been burned and is just out of that relationship.

There is a slow burn at the outset, which ignites fairly quickly. The friendship that forms between Mia and Ethan's 7 year old daughter, Madison, is an added bonus in this book. Ethan is a great dad!

There were a few characters I really hated, which is due to the brilliance of Harley Reid's writing skills. These include Harley's mother (a complete Beast!), Ethan's friend, and Mia's ex.

I am anxiously waiting to read the other books in this series. The next one is due at the end of June!!

Take a chance on this new author! You will be happy you did.

Steamy and sweet

Ethan, was a strong broken hero, with so much love in his heart! Mia was a sweet girl, with heartbreak in her heart but always dreaming of prince charming. The two of them have chemistry from the very first moment they met and the steam just gets hotter and hotter! Harley Reid did such an amazing job of developing her story, it was so easy to place yourself in Mia's shoes and relate to her. But guys, the mma, fighting, could definitely see that too. You should not hesitate, read away!

** sneak peek **

A giant stands in front of me, filling the entire doorway with his muscular physique. Then without warning he disappears into the darkness.

Following him into the dimly lit study, my heart pounds against my ribs and a thick layer of sweat seeps through my pores as I finally meet him in person.

The Devil, also known as Ethan The Sandman Brooks.

Widower.

Single father.

Notorious womaniser.

And one of the most violent men I have ever laid eyes on.

He is wearing a pair of jeans, t-shirt, and loosely tied combat boots that self-consciously make me question my frumpy trouser suit. At 5 foot 4 inches, I know I am somewhat vertically challenged but still don’t normally worry about my height. Here in this moment, with him towering over me. I feel smaller and more vulnerable than ever.

“Take a seat.” Ethan orders intensely.

Not knowing whether to run for the hills or stay, I follow his instructions and slowly ease myself down into the chair as I gulp hard. He watches my every move, smiling curiously.

“So, let’s just cut to the chase shall we…” His tone is cold. “Why should I hire you to take care of my daughter?”

Straight to the point, no pleasantries at all. Can you believe this guy!

“Well, I don’t have a lot of on-the-job experience, but I have a degree in early childcare development as well as a valid first aid certificate.” My throat is closing in on me and I can’t get enough air in. “Sorry, could I trouble you for a glass of water please?”

“Wait here.” Without giving me time to respond, he leaves the room.

I twirl my hair around my finger, something I always do whenever my nerves are out of hand. I wish more than anything that I could channel Lexi’s confidence. I would give anything to escape the timid, insecure little girl inside me right now.

My body shudders as he enters the room again moments later. I take a much-needed sip of water from the glass he placed on the table in front of me and continue rambling on about my inexperience and love of children until the interview is brought to an abrupt end.

“Thank you for your time. That will be all.” Ethan orders as he continues staring at me through narrow eyes.

I frown at him, trying to figure out what it is about him that makes women succumb to his every desire.

His narcissistic, bad boy fighter appeal is the complete opposite of everything I stand for. And yet, there is something about him that I can’t walk away from. Physically, he is the perfect specimen of a man.

Even in this low light, his thick dark brown hair is trimmed into a perfectly styled comb-over with faded sides. He has the brightest, emotionless steel blue eyes, and tanned skin with a hint of tattoo just peeking out from under his collar. His nose veers off slightly to the right and his ears are deformed and lumpy but there is no denying that he is handsome. Tall as a tree and wide as a house with a chiselled jaw and cheekbones that could cut glass.

I heave myself up from the chair and move towards the entrance, ready to leave.

He follows, taking a step closer to me as I reach the door, forcing my back to press against the wall.

Leaning in, he reaches around me, his lips inches away from my mouth and a breath catches in my throat. My body paralysed with anticipation.

A solid debut from Harley Reid. It’s nice to read a book set in the U.K. 🇬🇧
Ethan is a widower who’s young daughter needs a nanny to enable him to restart his MMA career.
Amelia is the shy, heartbroken young woman who takes the job.
This opposites attract romance has plenty of will they/won’t they and Mia makes for a heroine with layers.
Ethan’s daughter Maddie steals the show with her Disney obsession and badly timed interruptions.

Okay so i feel like I'm in the minority here, since in the beginning of this book I freaking flew through the pages loved the single dad aspect loved Seeing Ethan and Madison together he really loves his baby girl. Didn't expect Ethan to be so sweet, espically when he does something for Mia in the beginning of the book(i won't spoil it) the smexy scenes were hott but towards the second half of the book things became rushed and at least for me fell flat. The plot points didn't make sense and the dialogue felt out of character the miscommunication and apologies had no real angst to them. 😭💔

I really enjoyed this storyline and Ethan and Mia are very sweet together.

I will admit to wanting to shake Mia a couple of times and tell her to get over her Disney princess dreams, but she developed nicely and I enjoyed her growth by the end....and the end...OH My, I never saw the twist coming...so if you think this is just a sweet little love story that floats along to the HEA, keep reading!

The sprinkling of British jargon and terms were fun too and reminded they were in Britain so I could read in a British accent!

NOTE: I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a great debut this book is! Harley Reid did an amazing job, I am incredibly proud of her, and so excited for what is yet to come.

This book is about second chances, love and most importantly: fighting for what matters the most! Love, family, friends and whatever makes you tick.
The action of the story is well written and structured. Another aspect that I liked, was how the characters were build: their stories and development, each of them unique in their own way. I definitely did no see that plot twist coming, but I liked the way the story unfolded.

It is said that first impressions are everything; well, for sure Mia did one for the books. She came in Ethan’s life with a BANG: soaking wet, coffee stains on her blouse and a “doe in the headlights” look.
Ethan Brooks, the big bad wolf, the womanizer has only two goals: to get his career back and be the best father for his daughter.
After losing his wife, he takes a step back from his career as an MMA fighter, to dedicate all of his time to his little one. But now, it is time for him to return to the cage.

The relation father-daughter between Ethan and Maddie was so beautiful, that little girl stole my heart seconds after meeting her with her innocence and energy. Despise his tough exterior, Ethan is a great father and stops at nothing for his little girl.

Mia Cooper, this good girl, innocent, naive and hopeless romantic was exactly what Ethan needed in his life, even though he didn’t knew this when they first met. She came at the perfect moment into Ethan’s life: she was the calm and the light he was missing.

After a bad breakup, all that Mia wants is to get her life back under control, so she decides to get up from her sister’s couch and look for a job.
One of the things that I liked about Mia, was that she acted very grown up, she was rational. When the situation asked for it, she took a step back, think it over and realized what she wanted and what she deserved, and so she stood her ground and didn’t settle for less.
I liked the trust, the friendship and the bond that formed instantly between Mia and Maddie, these two make a great duo with their energy and their love for all that is Disney.

The chemistry and attraction between Mia and Ethan was undeniable from the very first moment when they met, I loved how their connection developed and the amazing relationship they have. The scenes with them as a family were completely adorable.

And the ending is the perfect one. Especially for all the Mia’s out there, for the hopeless romantic, those who still believe in true love, it just warm your heart and all your insides.

The only thing I would have liked even more, was is the book would have been a bit longer, because I really loved the characters, and also because I felt that the action towards the end was a bit rushed. I would have liked if there were more chapters with the aftermath of the plot twist.
But other than that, I loved this book and I am so happy I had come across it. And also I am so excited for the following books in this series.

I had the amazing opportunity to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A beautiful debut novel that I devoured in a heartbeat!

Ethan is an MMA champion who needs a nanny for his 7 year old daughter. He’s coming back to the octagon after a few years of mourning the tragic loss of his wife. He doesn’t want any relationship, his heart is way too damaged. Mia is recovering from a terrible breakup and trying to rebuild her heart with a new life. She wants romance, a prince charming who will make her swoon and make her heart fly and she knows Ethan is absolutely not that guy... But Ethan can’t resist her beauty and kind spirit and Mia discovers the broken and loving man that’s behind that tough facade.

This book gave me so many Jane Eyre vibes since the very first killer page. Mia and Ethan’s story was intriguing, romantic and super hot!

Ethan’s story is heartbreaking, I was able to empathize with him and understand why he was so protective of his heart and didn’t want to risk it. I loved to see him coming out of his shell and let the love he developed for Mia heal his wounds. He was so protective of Mia and it was beautiful to see him realizing how much he really loved her.

Mia was such a strong and beautiful person. I loved how determined she was to get what she really wanted and didn’t allow anyone to decide for her. I loved how close she was with her sister and how much they relied on each other for everything.

The chemistry between these two was absolute fire! It was the perfect complement for all the emotions floating around them.

This book had all the steam, angst, romance and the perfect amount of suspense to make it unforgettable!

Thank you, Harely Reid for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After Mia Cooper discovers her long time boyfriend cheating on her, she knows what she wants in a life partner. Taking inspiration from Disney, she wishes for the perfect gentleman, someone sweet and kind who will sweep her off her feet and offer her forever. Desperate to get off her sister’s couch, Mia applies for a live in nanny job, taking care of the seven year old daughter of professional MMA fighter Ethan Brooks. When Mia moves into the Brooks mansion, the last thing she expects is to catch feelings for her boss. Ethan doesn’t meet any of her perfect fairytale requirements, but Mia soon finds that the more time she spends with Ethan, the more she falls for him.

Ethan Brooks is still devastated by the loss of his wife, even two years after her death. He knows he will never be able to move on, and his daughter Maddie is the only thing that brings him joy. What he doesn’t realize that by hiring awkward but sweet Mia Cooper to be his daughter’s nanny, he is inviting laughter and joy back into his life. Mia is his employee, and he knows what she needs in a boyfriend, and that he can’t give it. But the truth is, Mia is never far from Ethan’s mind.

Sparks collide in this heartfelt opposites attract romance by debut novelist Harley Reid! This book does have steamy moments, but I wouldn’t consider it a high steam level. I loved Mia and Ethan’s story. This book took twists and turns I didn’t expect, and I read it all in one sitting because once I started, I couldn’t put it down! I absolutely recommend this book, and I can’t wait to see more from Harley in the future.

2 years ago MMA fighter Ethans world was torn apart with the horrific death of his wife, leaving him to raise his young daughter Madison alone he decided to leave the Octagon, but now as he plans his return he must find someone to take care of Madison. Mia believed in prince charming till he ripped her heart out, now refusing to let life go by she picks herself up and gets her self a job as a nanny, even if the fathers choice of job disgust her the man himself draws her in with intrigue. Ethan is instantly drawn to Mia, but knew he shouldn't act on his feelings, shes his employee, hes trying to get his career back on track and he doesnt know if he can open up to another relationship, whilst Mia is still looking for the one. Will the lines get blurred, as the bond they form grows? Will others accept a romance between them?
This is a well written heartwarming read, thats well paced and the story is intriguing, relatable and kept my attention through out. The characters draw you in with a range of emotions that burst to life in the page. With desires, hot scenes, drama, twist and more! my first by this new author and ill be sure to be back for more!

I was lucky enough to get sent an ARC copy of Harley Reid’s debut book Fight Like A Girl. In the story, we meet Ethan and Amelia (Mia).

Ethan is a single father and a professional MMA fighter who was hit with two tragedies twice in his life. After two years of being gone from the ring, it's time for his return. But due to his training schedule, he needs a nanny. In walks Amelia “Mia” for the job. Mia is suffering from a broken heart when she applies to be Madison, Ethan’s daughter's nanny. The last thing she was doing was looking for a relationship with Ethan Brooks. He was far from her type. But we all know when it comes to the heart ❤️ anything can happen.

I also really loved Mia and her sister Lexi’s relationship how they were able to rely on one another.

I enjoyed reading Ethan's and Mia’s story. I couldn't put the book down. Oh, that twist that was thrown into it, I didn't even expect that. What a great debut book from Harley Reid. I can't wait for more of her work.

Was given an ARC for an honest review.

I was lucky enough to get sent an ARC copy of this book yesterday. I thought I would read a few chapters with my morning coffee, however a few chapters soon turned into the entire book! It was impossible to put down once I had started.

Mia and Ethan may seem like an unlikely couple. She is a timid nanny, who is easily led especially by her mother and ex. Ethan is a professional fighter, training to get back innthe ring following a tragedy a couple of years previously.

Ethan has his rules about relationships and Mia has her dreams for her happy ever after, just like the Disney princesses that she loves. The two don't mix, but they can't deny their attraction for each other.

It's a fast pace book and there is enough drama to keep it exciting to the end.

I cant wait to read more from Harley Reid!

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of Fight Like A Girl, the debut novel by Harley Reid to review, and boy am I pleased I did!
First things first.. as if this is Harley's DEBUT novel!!
If you didn't already know this was her first novel, there was no way you would of guessed that whilst reading.
Anyway, the story.
Mia and Ethan are worlds apart in their lives, and in what they think they want in their love lives too.
Each of them has a very firm idea of what they want, and the other is the opposite of that.
Needless to say they turn out to be exactly what each other needs. Their blossoming romance and character growth is lovely to see.
A twist I definitely didn't see coming had me reeling a bit... but Harley settled my anxiety with a beautiful and well deserved happily ever after.
Absolutely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ worthy!

5⭐️ for Harley Reid’s debut book!! This is an awesome story.

Ethan is in need of a nanny, after deciding to go back to MMA fighting. Mia is in need of a job, and interviews for the nanny position. Mia and Ethan are opposites in every way. She’s shy and a hopeless romantic. He’s rough around the edges and a womanizer. They have an instant connection the moment they meet. The tension between the two is thick. Will they give into their feelings or will they be able to keep things professional?

I loved this book and the characters. You can’t help but root for Ethan and Mia. Maddie was adorable. It has a wonderful HEA and I can’t wait to see what Harley Reid comes out with next.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I think that this is a great debut novel by Harley. Mia and Ethan have a sweet love story. She is hired as a nanny for his daughter so that he may train for MMA training. They get to know each other and find that they like each other more and more. They each have reasons for not wanting anything serious. Those reasons go out the window before long. This was a sweet love story that I really enjoyed. It is well written and the characters were great

I was lucky enough to receive a ARC copy, thank you Harley. After finishing a heavy thriller, I was looking for something easy to read. I started this book last night with the intention of reading the first few chapters to see if I was going to get along with it, before I knew it I'd read half the book. This book was easy to read, a good amount of suspense & romance. I wanted to know what was going to happen, definitely a page turner. I liked that it tells the story from both sides, so you understand the main characters & how they both feel.
A great romance with a good amount of steam.

Another debut novel that was awesome. This book held my full attention from first page to the last.

A twist that I wasn’t expecting AT ALL.

Mia and Ethan are everything and add in little Mads, its even more!
A timid girl, wanting her perfect Prince Charming, and a MMA fighter trying not to lose everything again.

Soon Mia realizes the perfect Prince Charming is worse than the bad boy fighter, and the bad boy becomes the Prince Charming she never saw coming.

This book left me feeling happy throughout it all.

Fight Like A Girl is a great read! This is Harley Reid's debut book but you couldn't tell by the talent she brings. Ethan and Mia were such strong characters who complimented each other well. I love the tug of war that they seemed to play. Mia knew what she wanted and wasn't going to settle for anything less. Ethan thought he didn't need forever but Mia made him question what he believed was right for him and his daughter. What obstacles did they tackle? Buy it today and find out!

Debut book

This was an great debut novel. The story starts of with the main female having a single minded and judgmental point of view about her employer but as the book moves along she realizes that there is more to his story then what is online. Ethan and Mia’s story has a lot of them fighting their feelings until they finally give in to each other. For that point on everything is very fast paced.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are easy to like and follow. Ethan and Mia are perfect for eachother in that opposites attract kinda way.

The way that they come together is easy and great to read. Throw in some drama and you have a great story. The twist you get thrown at you is a nice bonus.

I enjoyed the secondary characters just as much as the main ones.
This is a sweet story and an great HEA!!

Lexi and Sarah, the sisters are amazing with the way they are.
