I'm on Prillon Prime for a surprise party. Me, the unmated Earth girl, a guest of the queen! I want to dress up and have fun. Not trip over my own two feet and fall into the arms of two of the hottest alien warriors I've ever seen. Ever.
What happens on Prillon Prime stays on Prillon Prime. Before they touch me I make it clear that I'm not looking for a mate. Or two. I have to go back to The Colony. My life is there.
But Prillon warriors are notorious for fighting for what they want. Apparently, what these two want... is me.
Oh, my how the best laid plans often go awry. Just ask Lucy...
Or maybe don’t because she’s a bit busy. Busy with her denial that she’s mated to two, tall dark and handsome Prillon warriors.
Just looking for a night of fun, Lucy never expected to fall hard and fast for her two mates—Nikal and Sambor. But she has, and they’re not going to let her go easily back to The Colony. And does she really want to leave?
I loved this excellent addition to the Interstellar Brides Program series. Surprise Mates was smart, fun, sexy, and original—something that should be difficult after 21 books, but apparently not to Ms. Goodwin and I can’t wait for the next one! ~ Missy, 5 stars
Surprise Mates is another fantastic story to add to the collection! Loved this story! I am going to be honest. I love Grace Goodwin and 21 books in, I still enjoy the fresh and unique take on the Interstellar Brides Program storyline. ****** Overall Rating: 5 stars Kindle Unlimited: No Standalone: Yes-ish Steam: 4 steamy alien flames Triggers: IMO, No ****** We met Lucy in Bachelor Beast, she was Olivia's best friend and instrumental in helping Wulf and Olivia find their way together. Now Lucy is on the Colony and the only unmated female, and she didn't participate in the Brides program, so she has no match. But that doesn't mean she hasn't had suitors...but they are all chased away by Wulf and the rest of her "big brother" protectors. Lucy is getting a little lonely. Thankfully, it is Queen Jessica's surprise birthday party on Prillion Prime and in Lucy's opinion "What happens on Prillion Prime, stays on Prillion Prime." Lucy is on the prowl for some hot alien love and a two-night stand. Has anyone met these aliens? Overprotective, dominant, amazing in bed, single minded focus on their women, and when they find their mate...game set match. I have a feeling that things are not going to turn out the way Lucy expects/wants them too. I don't think these aliens are one and done type of guys. Lucy has her plan, find one, two or three hot aliens to rock her world. So, as she's dancing and bumps into Ambassador Nikal and his second Sambor, she feels instant chemistry and they are two hot Prillion Prime warriors... SCORE! She propositions them and takes them back to her room for the night of her life. But things can't be that easy, can they? You will just have to read the book because there will be no spoilers here... This story was great, it brought back so many of our favorite characters and just upped the ante. I was on the edge of my seat, giggled, teared up, cheered, shouted, and almost PM'd Ms. Goodwin with a WTH message (seriously Ms. Goodwin, I CRIED). All in all, in the end my heart was full and I had a great time reading this book. Another win for the Interstellar Brides Series! I definitely recommend! Bachelor Beast and Surprise Mates have both been unique, original, amazing and fresh and I can't wait for more!
WHAT HAPPENS ON PRILLON PRIME—STAYS ON PRILLON PRIME!
As with the other Interstellar Bride book, they read great as a continuing saga, but each book will read well as a stand-alone. The story of Lucy Vandermark is different in that she is a single human female not mated via the Interstellar Brides program; she is a good friend of Olivia and her mate, Warlord Wulf. On The Colony, Wulf is her big-brother protector, and no one will defy him and his directives—she may be unmated, but she is also off-limits.
The story will have all the Earth females and their mates traveling to Prillon Prime for a surprise birthday party for Queen Jessica, Mate to Prime Nial, and his second, Lord Anders. As part of the celebration, other ambassadors and dignitaries are included, including Ambassador Lord Niklas Lorvar, and his second, Captain Sambor Treval.
“Turning down an invitation to their mate’s private celebration was not an option—no matter what pressing matters awaited mine and Sambor’s attention.”
The plot will have Earth music and dancing as part of the first night of celebration, and during the Electric Slide, Lucy will be bumped into and rescued by Niklas. When he carries her off the floor to check if she is okay, Sambor follows, and Lucy propositions both of them, and they accept.
“I am here to enjoy myself. To have some fun. Are you two together? You know, like a warrior and his second?”
Lucy lets them know in no uncertain terms she only wants a fling, and while these two Prillon men hadn’t been looking, they are willing—but will they be content with a one-night stand and able to walk away?
“You want to use us for your pleasure and walk away? I allow you to set the pace, but your pleasure is mine.”
“Dreaming was one thing; reality quite another. Overwhelmed. I had no words. No thought. Nothing of me was left. I was theirs. The pleasure was already so intense; I wasn’t sure I would survive more.”
The story is so refreshing in that it was very different from previous tales in this series. All three were just going to have a good time, no-strings-attached, hot and heavy sex, and then go back to their everyday lives. But that is not going to happen. After one night, both Niklas and Sambor agree she is theirs, forever, their mate. And Niklas has his collars bright to make it complete. What happens with the collars makes the experience so much more intense. The chemistry between Lucy, Nik, and Sam sizzles off the pages—and together, they find what they didn’t even know they needed.
“It’s real. It’s us. Feel it. Know us.”
When a special and security IC meeting with Dr. Hellion, Ander, along with Niklas and Sambor, and two rogue guests will go wrong, and before Nilas and Sambor can transport, the ship is attacked—and they are presumed dead. What will Lucy do now that she has loved and lost her mates?
The story had me on the edge of my seat and in tears; as the story unfolds, the despair, depression, and feeling of loss were intense. It has mystery, suspense, passion, secrets, and angst. Not everything is as it seems, and things don’t always work out as planned. Lucy can return to Earth, and she doesn’t want to; what she wants, she fears she has lost. Will love be so powerful that it will win in the end? If two Prillon mates have anything to do with it, it will.
The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was well done, though a reader new to the series would probably be pretty lost. The characterization was competent, with both heroes and the heroine all being sympathetic individuals if not especially nuanced. The development of the romantic relationship was organic and hot. The heat level was four to five chili peppers. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning that I read this novel in one sitting. There was low angst and high stakes in this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Insta-Love trope and the Just One Night trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization was three stars. The development of the romantic relationship was four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy action, adventure, and dominant alpha heroes in their sci-fi romances. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Even after 20+ books in this series, the stories are still unique, sexy, romantic and full of drama and adventure. Grace Goodwin does a fantastic job of making the characters seem so realistic that you can’t help but immerse yourself into the story and cheer for their happily ever after. The world building is vivid, the danger is stark and sometimes unsettling, and the whole story is so engaging you can’t put the book down until the end (and then you just can’t wait for the next book!). I am addicted to reverse harem books (and menage romances), and this book is hot, hot, hot! You get two males for the price of one - and both are devoted, strong, loving alpha males. Just the way we love them! This story has all the feels: so much laughter, tears, happiness, insecurity, jealousy, and pain. Although each story is a standalone erotic romance, many of the characters from previous books play an important part of the storyline. It was so great to have all of the human Interstellar Brides come together for a celebration, and you kind of get a bonus epilogue for each of them. I also love that Grace Goodwin has a sort of life lesson, or food for thought which might apply to you. In this book, it is about accepting what you perceive as flaws and being comfortable in your own skin. The very things that make you feel different are also the things that make you unique! So many of us women struggle with body issues, so it’s nice to have a relatable character that isn’t “perfect”. Or not. This book can also just be a very enjoyable and entertaining break from reality. I cannot recommend Grace Goodwin books enough! They are always so well written, have well developed characters, and the attention to detail is amazing.
I received this book from the author at Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Since I rely heavily on reviews to make decisions about purchases, I will never lie or over exaggerate my opinion. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!
Surprise Mates is the twenty-first book in the Interstellar Brides Program series, but could be read as a stand alone. There are other couples from previous books, though. Lucy is headed to Prillon Prime to celebrate the queen’s birthday and she’s looking for a good time, not for a relationship. Niklas and Sambor run into her on the dance floor, literally, and while they agree to one night together, they definitely want more. But will interference with the Hive destroy their future before it can even begin?
Oh my goodness, this might be the best book by Ms. Goodwin I’ve read, but then again, I think I say that with every book released! Lucy, Niklas, and Sambor were so captivating and delicious and I loved that she went into the relationship with such a human intention, yet her men were determined to prove otherwise. It was just a fun twist to this series! Lucy was loyal and bold and knew what she wanted, but didn’t always know how to face her own emotions. Niklas and Sambor were perfect for her because they were so brave, putting others ahead of their own selves, and I loved that Nik was essentially the face and smooth words while Sam was more of the protector. They made a great team on their diplomatic missions but also when it came to winning Lucy. I loved the three of them together! I loved that they needed to overcome hardships and heartache before they found true happiness and I swooned over their passionate connection. I love this series, I adored this book, and I know that I will reread it often!
A simply captivating, sexy and sensual read I thoroughly enjoyed Jessica and the other human females are all gathered together as a surprise for the “Birthing Day Celebrations” of Queen Jessica Deston, a surprise that her two mates have arranged. The females were all excited and had party ideas well in hand and when it came to introducing all of the mates and warriors to the “Electric Slide” a line dancing favourite you just knew it was an accident waiting to happen? Jessica had decided that she was going to have some fun whilst she was away from her usual job of helping to care for the children of the warriors and their mates, she loved them all dearly and was known as Autnty Woocy. The two Prillion warriors were Sam and Nik and they were more than willing to ensure that Lucy would have a night she’d never forget. Then within twenty-four hours they all realised that they were involved in something far more importantly than a simple one-night stand, soon she was wearing their collar and feeling everything, they were, it was so intense and she knew that she had fallen in love with them both. Then they are sent on a mission and suddenly her whole life is thrown into turmoil and there is nothing anyone can say or do to help Who would have believed that a weekend could change her life so devastatingly, there was nothing anyone could say or do to help? I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Surprise Mates features a heroine, Lucy, that we have met in another book and currently lives on The Colony with her friend and the friend's family. She is wanting to have some fun, but that is not an easy thing to do in space with possessive alien warriors. Prillons are one of my favorite Heroes in this universe and I was happy to have another book featuring their brand of mating protocols. I liked the different twist on the usual pathway to love in this story. These authors keep coming up with different ways to make the stories remain fresh.
I have become very invested in this world and the war that is continuing on throughout the series. There are some suspenseful moments that kept me turning the pages wanting to know more and where things were going to lead to. I enjoyed the suspense and the typical banter among the primary characters as well as the supporting friends. I’m having difficulty deciding how much of a stand-alone this installment is since I have read them all. There are a lot of recurring characters and couples in Surprise Mates that make me feel like it may be more enjoyable if you have read some of the previous books.
I wholeheartedly recommend this entire series if you are a fan of sexy sci-fi stories centered around fated mates between aliens and Earth brides.
AL Niklas Lorvar & Sambor Treval was present to guard the queen. They knew nothing of an Earth custom called a Birthday Party. All the men knew nothing of it. They envied the males with their mates never expecting to meet one unmated. Lucy loved Olivia and Warlord Wulf along with the twins. Her life was so different from before. But she wanted a little fun. She wasn’t looking for a mate or mates. What happens on Prillian Prime…… The story starts off funny. Lucy was just looking for a fling, no commitment. But Jess’s birthday party becomes so much more. With Nik and Sam she can have it all but her fears about her not measuring up holds her back. Nik and Sam are strong Prillian’s that do their duty. But they see Lucy for the beauty she is. Of course there is always an issue and with the Hive looking for human women. The party was fun till something happened to end it all. These three are hot and steamy and at times sad and heartbreaking. Plus we know have something special being added to Prillion Prime, a spa. Everyone woman needs to be pampered. I can’t wait for Braun being the next bachelor.
I was so excited to see another Interstellar Mates book by Grace Goodwin and she did not let me down! This book is full of dynamic characters, clear world building, fab intensity with both danger and sizzling chemistry and there was humour to round things out. This was a one-sit read for me, pulling me to the edge of my seat, giggling away at Lucy's expectations of her booty call and yeah, grabbing a fan for the heat. Loved the guys, they were perfect foils for her and, together, they made my heart happy. I also loved visiting with previous characters - this always adds a wonderful depth to a story, showing how everything is interconnected. Well done, Ms. Grace with another fun read for my re-read list!
I love this series. It never disappoints. This is a fantastic story. Lucy has been staying with her BFF on the colony. She goes to Prillion Prime with other couples for Queen Jessica's surprise birthday party. She plans to find a guy or two to have a two night stand with and then leave. She's not looking for a mate just a good time. She meets and propositions Lord Niklas Lorvar and his second Sambor. The guys are up to whatever she wants as they don't plan to let her go. When the guys go to a meeting and their ship is blown up, Lucy wishes she had taken them up on the mate offer. She misses them badly. She goes back to the colony and is miserable. What will happen now? Will she go back to Earth?

You do not have to read the previous books to understand what is going on, although it is recommended as you will be seeing characters from previous books within the story. This book is intense, absorbing, creative, and brilliantly written! Miss Goodwin knows her readers and she delivers EVERY SINGLE TIME! Interstellar Brides Program is a series that you want lining your shelfs! Gripping from the first chapter on I could not put it down nor did I want to! It had me hook line and of course the sinker of it was the banter between the characters and the fact that not one but two aliens wanted to mate with her and she is in no way wanting mates just a romp that will be satisfying and temporary. I loved how Grace developed these characters and the visuals she provides for us is spectacular! If you have not read any of these books I implore you to just get one, any one, try it out and see that not only are you getting an author who knows what her readers want but a supremely wonderful story!

I have been a fan of Grace Goodwin's Interstellar Brides universe since the very beginning and "regular" Prillons are my favorites. So expectations were high with this one. I loved the angle of this being just a one night stand for the h but obviously Prillons being Prillons, they were not having it. All the H in these books are the perfect mix of JP and respectful and caring. Strong and protective. No wonder this is sci-fi (j/k honey).
Aside from the story it was also nice to see so many familiar faces again, especially Nial who is my favorite H from this series ;)
I have been a fan of this series for several years now. I loved this latest story by Grace Goodwin. I didn't want this story to end. I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I loved reading about Lucy and her mates, Niklas and Sambor. Lucy has traveled to Prillon Prime to celebrate the Queen's birthday. She also is hoping to have a fling as well. She lives on The Colony with her best friend and her best friend's family. Niklas is the Ambassador for Prillion who is invited to go to the party with his second and bodyguard, Sambor. They meet Lucy at the party and they become instantly intrigued by her. They have some important work that will take them away from her. They want Lucy for more than one night. Will the three have a chance at happiness?

Lucy has been living on the Colony with Olivia and Wulf along with their children, Tanner and Emily...but because she was "family" and was unmated, Wulf warned off potential suitors unless she showed an interest in someone...so when she was invited to surprise birthday party for Prime Neil's human mate, she went thinking, "what happens on Prillon Prime says on Prillon Prime"... so Lucy was thinking about a wild weekend, with a sexy alien or two...meeting Lord Niklas and his second Sambor, who looked like just what she needed...but would they be interested in her and one wild night??? You will need to read this "Surprising" story to see what happens..I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review..
Please stick with this series. Each book is different and an interesting page turner. In this one lonely sweet Lucy is looking for a good time. Nik and Sam are all about duty until a party. There is plenty of hot spicy sex between the trio and lots of other elements to hold the readers interest. I enjoyed the development of their relationship. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I very highly recommend it. This is a very enjoyable addition to this wonderful series. Please write lots more!
I really enjoy reading this series. I like all the different alien races and I love reading all of the different customs for mating and how they differ. I also really like how they fall for their mates. This book was really good. I like the different approach the author took. Since Lucy was an unmated female from the colony. And she ends up finding 2 prillians for "a one night stand". And they decide to keep her. I really liked Nik and Sam. They ended up being perfect for Lucy!
The life of the party This has to be one of my favorite books from the series. The author put a brand-new spin to the tale keeping me intrigued until the very end, well and who doesn’t want to get rescued by two handsome alpha males. I love how Lucy was in such hard denial about her new circumstances and how the guys worked so hard to help her see the light. Each new book in this series is fresh and new and a joy to read. After every one I feel like a kid, impatiently waiting for the next installment, hopefully we will not have to wait too long.
Lucy is the only unmatched woman from a Earth on Prillon Prime. She is there to attend a party with her friends and have a good time. She thinks that she's not ready to have mates and she just wants a good time with some alien hunks. Her wish soon comes true when she falls into the arms of Niklas. He, along with his second, Sambor show Lucy how good it is to be with them. She thinks it's one night, but little does she know that they want more. This book was so good! As usual with an Interstellar Brides book, there is so much great action happening in the quest to defeat the Hive. There are plenty of hot and steamy times too, but I love the fact that there is always a good story to back it up. These books are always entertaining and keep me interested from start to finish. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Surprise Mates: Interstellar Brides Program Series book 21. Each of these books can be read as a standalone.
I love the world that Grace Goodwin has created and I always look forward to reading books from her and especially the Interstellar Brides Program!
This is Lucy Vandermark, Ambassador Lord Niklas Lorvar & Captain Sambor Treval’s story or just Nik and Sam to earth girl Lucy!
Lucy is on Prillon Prime for a wedding and she is the only unmatched female. Now she is ready for some no holds barred sex. She doesn’t want a relationship, just sex. Well these 2 alien hunks have a different idea! Loved the story and I can’t wait for the next one.
This a fast pace romance following the war against the Hive this is Lucy hairdresser unmated living in the Colony with her best friend and Wulf from the Bachelor Beast, she goes to Prilon Prime to celebrate the queen birthday and to have a one night stand, but she found Nik and Sam the Ambassador and his protector which is his second and they accepted Lucy proposition for a night stand but they want her as their mate. There are hot scenes, and action when a meeting in deep space goes wrong...loved the story ..hope to here soon Helion story and the Atlan Bran story too after all they deserve a very sassy and wonderful human female. This is a voluntary review of an ARC copy.
Grace has a whole universe of happy people who have found true love fighting a foe who endangers all sentient beings within it. If you are addicted to Grace's Dickensian serial, you will want to read this offering to find out how everybody is doing. Lucy the human hairdresser is visiting Prillon Prime for the Queen's birthday when she bumps into a pair of Prillon males during an electric slide line dance. Her best friend found true love. The question is will Lucy?
Lucy just want a fling. She picks two Prillons at a party and makes her wishes clear; two nights then she's going home. As if. Nik and Sam are not going to play that game. Although this is in the Interstellar Brides series Lucy is not a bride. She is mated without testing but it's definitely a true mating. Very enjoyable twist to the usual plot and Prillons are so hot.
Lucy is the best friend of Olivia who became the mate of Wulf. She is the only human that has been allowed off Earth that is not in the forces. She meets Niklas and Sambor at Queen Jessica's surprise birthday party and decides that she wants a one night stand with them. The problem is that they want to mate with her. I enjoyed this look at some of the previous couples lives. It's nice to check in and see how they are doing and how Lucy fits in with them. The three of them do not have an easy time, but they do get their HEA.
I received an advance copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love this series! In each book, an human woman leave Earth searching for hapiness. Lucy is a little bit different - she is is space, but not an bride and not an fighter. How she could find her hapiness? Without testing, how she could know?
A fun story, with some drama and a lot of steam!

Surprise Ms is part of The Interstellar Bride Series and tells Niklas, Sambor and Lucy's story. Lucy doesn't look for a hea, she's just looking for a henow. Nik and Sam are so sure they found their match, it takes them just a moment to know it. Surprise Ms is a beautiful story, action packed, fast paced, scorching. A great read,5 stars.
Sci-fi romance read about Lucy, who's the only unmated female besides fighters outside of earth. Niklas and Sambor are Prillon's, he's an ambassador, and Sam his second. The story was compelling, it wasn't hard to grasp, and steamy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The h was not for me and I would have liked to see more of a development between the three people in the couple than all the women from the previous books. Then this comes from a reader who has not read all the books in the series and has little sentimental value from seeing them again. A reader who loved the entire series would probably feel very different about it.
Hmm.. also, I'm allergic to makeup and have little interest in that or putting up my hair. Not into line-dancing and I am more of a " outdoorsy, practical stuff rather than pretty" and then group of girls was not my crowd. Had I personally been present at that birthday party would have been found standing a bit away hopefully with something nice to nibble on, snack not a man, but I wouldn't feel any compulsion to join in. Nice for a one-time read for my part, it is nice seeing a group of girls having fun together however. Friends who are there for you, that you have invested time and feeling in are important and should be celebrated. Even if the girls were not my crowd I liked seeing that they were important to each other and it wasn't just " enter the H and everything else fades away".
Never get tired of Interstellar brides. The story was engaging and it's great to have a story where it's not damsel in distress. Love the diversity of brides and aliens. My one thing I keep asking is if there are bride centers in every country, why do they still refer to a handful of human brides, as if they are only ones. There should by now be few thousand or more and while we cant get all their stories(I wish), they have to exist. I love this series and author and impatiently awaiting Egara and Brauns stories. But, I also think we need a human Male with a different female alien bride, because, then we would have new perspective. Cant go wrong, buy the series and enter amazing love
