Still really enjoying this series. Interesting ending that I didn't see coming! (Although, in hindsight, I should have)

Absolutely LOVED this book, Selina is not only an amazing artist but outstanding author as well. Giving her characters life in soo much detail, you can picture everything they go through and how they feel.
We are back, fighting to keeping Rylan alive as well as trying to discover what Everly is, seeing as her powers are only getting stronger.
In this installment, the team are faced with a new monster to try and beat but find its MUCH harder than they thought. With the Darkfrey estate breathing down their neck, can they find the answers that everyone has on their mind or will they run out of time to save Rylan for permanent death instead of alive in Everly's dreams. Safe, but for how long?

I realise that this is actually YA, the first two books were for me at least, it gave early 2000s paranormal urban fantasy, teen wolf vibes. and I really enjoyed it and also excuse me, what the heck was that ending?!!!!!! now I need to read the next one asap

Blood Bound, book two of the Beshadowed series, is as awesome as the first one. Totally gripping and suspenseful, with wonderful characters, terrifying villains, a little more of the mysterious creatures and world revealed, and its fast pace swooping between laugh-out-loud hilarious then deeply serious and back again. There’s a touch of horror, but I’m a total wuss and I coped. Like the first book, there are many wonderful – but subtle – messages of equality and diversity, but it’s just part of the rich, imaginative world the author has created. The characters are fully formed, complex, funny, flawed, brave and vulnerable, and its beautifully written, magical and intriguing – with enough of a cliff-hanger to make me (and my hubby!) eager for book three.

I’ve decided to review these four books as a complete series as I think it does them more justice as a whole, plus I was too busy getting them read to stop and review each one, and now I wouldn’t really remember where one finished and the next one started. 🤦

We start with Everly returning to her hometown of Shroudhaven after her mother’s death, with her larger-than-life social media star and best friend Tammy. Everly is full of anxieties and fear as she is returning to a house that was never really a home, bringing up memories of her family that she never felt love by but also another family that was never hers, but where she felt more loved until it all fell apart.

Everly and Tammy soon get themselves caught up in events that they could never have prepared themselves for, finding out that there is a whole other world that they have been totally oblivious to, threatening not only their very existence, but the lives of everyone they hold dear.

Along the journey there are a host of other characters that you will come to love, and of course those you’d like to see karma take a massive chunk out of. There’s the gorgeous best friend from her childhood (constantly in her dreams), his heroic brother, the warrior mother, the smut writing house matriarch, brooding teenager (what fantasy could be without one of those), cheerful friend and then there’s Denny…definitely a one of a kind….thankfully. Of course, there are monsters and enemies, even a zombie animal or two, and as you can imagine, things are not always as they seem.

Books one through to three (I rated four stars each) are entertaining, enthralling and will have you wanting to know what happens next, and I found them well written and enjoyable, then I got to book four. Well, book four picked up the pace dramatically and I found it extremely difficult to put down as there was just so many exciting things happening. I think this is why Everdark Cursed was my favourite (I rated five stars) of the series….fast-paced and action-packed. Yes, there were favourites lost during the battles and through heart aching betrayal, but there were also many moments of humour and a few additions as well.

Overall, I would recommend the Beshadowed series as I did enjoy the stories, adventures and finding out how it all ended.

Everly's childhood friend (and crush) Rylan still hasn't woken up, she wants him to get up and so she knows he is ok. Things are indicating she might not just be a normal human, she always thought she was. What is she? Can they break Rylan out of his coma like sleep? The Howell team is willing to help, but what will the risks be? I enjoyed this intriguing monster/supernatural tale, Everly is a nice strong woman, who cares for her friends, even though she had a troubled upbringing.

This series just keeps getting better

Such a great series, I was torn between devouring the book I'm one sitting or taking it slow to make it last longer. In the end I started slow and then devoured.
Everly is working hard with the others to not only keep Ryan alive but free him from the condition that he's stuck in. While battling monsters more is revealed about Ryan and his family's past.but also what the Dragon that's Everly's been battling.with her wholelife really is.
I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Book one in the series was great! Book two is even better! Everly and the Howell team are trying to save Rylan. Will she ever talk to him IRL? Why did Rylan push Everly away? And what about her growing powers? All these questions are nicely wrapped up in a compelling story with a great heroine, great dialog, packed with action, making you want to read on and on. While battling the monsters answers to these questions arise, and new questions too.

A fun read! recommended.

Even though I received an ARC copy, I still bought the book!
I enjoyed book 1 in the series, and book 2 just carried straight on from there.
The best thing is that this is not your standard magic world build. The monsters aren’t the standard trope, our heroine is refreshingly different. Everyone has flaws, no one is perfect.
Looking forward to book 3!

We have mystery, some action, and forbidden love. Everly was to leave for home, but now with Ryland inside her dreams and laying in a coma on her bed, she can't. Can they figure out what is inside her? Will she be able to protect Harper her best friend? Now that secrets are out how can she help, or will she cause more mayhem?.

Loving this series so far. Everly and the crew are trying to save Rylan. They run into some missing artefacts and another shadyr group from Gorhanmere. So much I want to tell you, but can't/won't because of spoilers. Go read this, you will enjoy it!! I can't wait to see what happens with Everly, Harper, Rylan and the others. I have questions and need to get some answers! LOL

I enjoyed this installment of the Beshadowed series as much as the first, maybe even a little more. The author has created a dark world with scary good characters and awesome monsters. Her story line is interesting and has enough twists to keep me engaged (and waiting for the next installment). I would definitely recommend to all those who want to know what actually goes bump in the night!

This book was a great second in series. I loved how I was able to learn so many more things about the original characters, and that additional characters were added. The adventures in Everly's hometown of Shroudhaven were enlightening, suspenseful, mysterious and had multiple plot twists and loads of action. I am looking forward to the 3rd book in the series.

A Great Follow-up From the First Book!

Again, A tale is well told, continuing the supernatural adventures of Everly and her friends. The book became increasingly more difficult to put down. The characters are very likeable, the plot advances to keep interest active, and the flow is natural and easy to follow. I look to the next book.

Continuing the story, there were many twists and turns. Secrets revealed and more questions asked! Excellent character development and spooky themes with new ghasts and ghouls to be fought. I am hooked!

Although this is YA it feels quite juvenile and written for a younger audience. It was a different magic system which could have been explained much better. I read the entire series and because of that I will give a generous 3 stars.

This was an incredibly cool universe. It expanded upon the first book a lot, and from page 1 I was hooked on the action. The monsters that Selina imagines are so unique. There are aspects of cosmic horror in this that I haven't seen her use before. Loved it, won't forget it.
