I have been reading this author's books about addiction and sobriety for over a year now, and I continue to be impressed with both what he shares of his personal struggles and triumphs as well as his solid takeaways for those with addiction issues as they face recovery and sobriety. If you or someone you love is in this position, this book is the perfect one to have as it combines ideas from his other books, providing information on wide-ranging topics from the physical (nutrition and fitness) to the spiritual (prayer and meditation) to financial and even ways to find gratitude and joy. I like that he is completely honest about what he’s been through and comes across like a good friend who has “been-there, done-that” and is reaching out to the reader to nudge her or him about things to consider along on the sobriety journey—ideas that have personally helped him on his recovery path and insights he's gained along the way. Highly recommended for anyone with addictions as they forge their sober path as well as the loved ones who are supporting them.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
