Full Moon #1

Fallen Wolf

Rate this book
My whole life, all I wished for was a best friend and a boyfriend who treated me like a princess.

Well for me, living in a small community where everyone knows everyone. And everyone knew me as the "annoying" girl, it was hard for me to get even one of those wishes.
But when new girl Lexi Turner strolled into English class and sat next to me. My wish finally came true.
For the first time, in eighteen years. Me. Ada Stephens, had a best friend.

Lexi wasn’t a regular new girl who blended into the background. No, she was turning every male head in the high school, especially the Kiba boys. Ugh… they were so hot and knew it.
But they didn’t hold a flame to Saint Wood. He graduated last year and I never stopped crushing… how could you.
He was Saint-freaking-Wood.

Now I had the bestie, I was just missing the one other thing I wished for.

Only… I think I wished a little too hard.

But not everything is what it seems. The Kiba boys held secrets… ones I shouldn’t have known.

Firstly, make sure you read the New Moon series before you start this spinoff. This book is basically a recap of that series, told from Ada’s perspective, and there isn’t a lot of explanation or information on some events or characters. This book is how Ada experienced everything so it makes sense for the book to be like this.

I love the way the book ended, although it was very similar to the New Moon series, with less in-depth explanations for some of the big events. However, the next books (I’m assuming) will continue where this left off with the overall plot but focus on Ada and her relationships.

I love the POVs, it was interesting to see how each character reacted to one another and the events unfolding. I laughed out loud quite a few times.

This book was very fast paced and a very slow burn, but I think it had to happen this way to build the story of Ada and the other characters. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series, I can’t wait to see what happens with Ada and the events that happened in the previous book.

Ada's point of view from book 1 of Twice Bitten! One of the best shifter books I've ever read.

Then back to Blood moon trust me!

I LOVE the way the series are combined...

I feel like a lot was missing. But what we did get, I loved. I miss wolf books, and I think if the author hadn't been in a rush and maybe gave us some backstory to the packs.

If we had gotten a little background on the new girl Lexi and our chatty but endearing Ada. This story could have been a 5-star for sure.

I need to find out what's going to happen, so of course, I will keep going with the series; I hope, though, for the sake of the readers, we will get more detail.

Alex the narrator was fantastic, Sarah was ok I haven't heard her before I think it will take a little bit to get into her narration.

Didn’t know you had to read the New Moon series first

*SPOILER*

Ok, I liked the book but the storyline was really all over the place. What I didn’t know when I read this was that it was a character’s POV and assumed you knew the story that occurred in the New Moon trilogy. As a stand-alone, this book was really jolty with little explanation. Here’s a new girl. Suddenly they are best friends. Oh she’s an angel. Boom her blood heals vampires... whaaaaaaaaa? I get that the author may not have wanted to re-hash the whole story but I had to re-read so many sections and just accept the lack of explanation.

That being said, I’m off to read the other series and will read the second book of this one as I want to see it all come together and find out what is Saints deal.

First I have to say that I love this author and have been waiting excitedly for this book. I am however disappointed. Though this is from Ada's and her guys POV it just reiterates the events from Lexi's series. Which from the context of that series we knew Ada's POV already so I was bored and just skipped around and dnf. I was expecting this series to pick up where the other one left off and be one of it's own. Sadly that makes me not want to give the next book a try in case it's more of the same.

Fallen Wolf follows The New Wolf series which was Lexi's book. This one was about her friend - Ada (FMC). A loner that finds it hard to make friends but all that changes when Lexi joins her school. Except being human means the Supernatural undercurrent of the school is secret to her until she gets caught up in it. Shes so shy and unsure of herself but all of that makes her really endearing. She wants so much to fit in even with the help of her older sister and her own family but shes so naive about many things including guys and ones that are interested in her. This is a great start to this series and i really liked the sweet, quiet, quirkiness of Ada. A great read and im looking forward to the next book now

Oh wow! I was really looking forward to Ada's story and the author definitely did an awesome job of telling it. It was fun to hear it all from Ada's perspective and the guys. Saint is still a douchebag, but I know well get the reason later in the series, or well I hope we will.

I can't wait for the next book to come out. I really love this world.

To be really honest, I was disappointed. I LOVE the New Moon-series and was excited to see what became of Ada and her wolves..... but this was just a recap of most of the New Moon-series told from Ada (and some from Hux, Noah and Saint’s) perspective, told very fast and very little new information was added to what we already knew from Lexi’s books.

So, as a first book in this new series it was just a recap ofwhat we aleadry knew, as well as a littlemore introduction to her guys. Hopefully the next book will let us see more of this relationship and see how they will work together.

Great book!

I didn't realize I had read this book from Lexi's perspective before until I was well into the book. I enjoyed Ada's story and I can't wait to read more. I enjoyed the multiple pov.

(hoopla) Kind of dumb, but really entertaining. I remember reading the twice bitten set awhile back and thinking the same thing. 😆 I like Ada better than I liked Lexi. But so far Ada's love interests are less interesting than Lexi's were. 🤷‍♀️ I guess it's all about balance!

I need more- it was a very unsatisfactory ending, halfway through the epic conflict and left it completely unresolved. Other than that, it's a nice shifter story.

DNF Too YA for me.

This is for teenagers, not adults!
Really wish the synopsis has said this, and that it was a spin-off requiring previous knowledge.

Hard pass!

The blurb doesn't mention that this a spin off series and if you haven't read the first series you will be completely lost. There is zero explanation about basically everything and the only reason I have half an idea of what was happening was because I read the other series. Ada is a senior in HS and is making her first friend outside of her sister. We get to meet a ton of guys, some are Lexi's and I guess at least 3 will be for Ada.

I was so excited to finally start of Ada's story after reading Lexi's but I was left quite disappointed. This series can be read only if you've read Lexi's, as the story arc and many events mentioned belongs to Lexi's. I felt that by doing it this way a lot of stuff was taken away from Ada's story while I wished that we could see and know more about her, Noah, Huxley and Saint.

This is book one of the Full Moon series and the main character is eighteen year old Ada Stephens, who is in her final year of high school and since her older sister left for college, has been left all alone, not having ever had any friends of her own and not being any good at making any. That is until a new girl starts at the school, Lexi Turner, and ends up sitting next to her in class. Ada has a nervous tic of talking non-stop about everything and anything, but practises a whole load of questions she would love to ask her, like if she wants to sit together at lunch, but is too afraid to ask and continues eating her lunch in her car or the library. Ada had once had a boy she could chat to when first at high school, a boy called Huxley, but he soon faded away and stopped talking to her. Most make fun of her or call her annoying, but Lexi seems to have all the boys suddenly interested in her. There are three main groups, the Kiba boys, the Rawlins and the Kenneally’s, with a weird turf war going on. It was a small community, so all three groups attended the same school, but there is much more to them than meets the eye.

One thing that Ada seems to notice that no one else does, is lots of wolves in the woods around school, but no one takes her seriously when she mentions it. Ada’s current crush is a boy called Saint Wood, who doesn’t know her from Adam and has never even spoken to her, and graduated with her sister last year. The different groups of boys keep separate in the lunch hall, unless they start fighting. If one tries to go out with a girl from the wrong area, it can cause a fight at the drop of a hat. Lexi is a foster kid and has moved here with another foster kid, Rafferty, who she is close to. For the boys in school, all of them are finding themselves immensely attracted to Lexi, as if she is their mate, because the groups are actually packs of wolf shifters and their true identity is a deeply hidden secret. Why Lexi is attracting al the boys, is linked closely to what she is, but she isn’t a shifter as far as her foster family know, but she is going to be a key part of what happens at the end of this book.

Ada now has a best friend and the only other thing she has ever wised for, is a boyfriend who will treat her well. A few of the relationships she knows of, like one of her sister’s best friends, is with two male partners, and that isn’t the only multiple partner relationship happening. Being friends with Lexi soon has her able to join her at her first ever party and getting to know some more of the Kiba boys in particular, like Noah who is almost sixteen, but the biggest of all the boys there. She finds it easy to talk to Noah and he wants to be with her, but she considers him too young to be considered, something he can hear her talking about, due to his wolf hearing! Lexi soon has multiple serious contenders for her attention and one turns out to be a teacher from the school, who is a vampire and works to wipe any accidental sightings of wolves around town and school. But all this attention on Lexi has drawn interest from packs and groups outside of the small community, especially when they hear how special she is! A huge amount of danger and action at the end, leading to a massive cliffhanger of an ending. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens next! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

1 star because I could GAF about Lexi. Again. I was here for Ada, the FMC narrator.
5 Stars for Ada.
3 stars in total.

Not a true first in the series. This is a spin-off of the New Moon series to where it is beyond confusing to listen to the Full Moon series. I was so confused to where I had to check reviews to find out what I was missing, only to discover it was a must to read an entire trilogy beforehand.

I attempted to listen to Twice Bitten several times over in the past, finding the female narrator completely un-listen-able. This OTT seductive ridiculousness, breathy with vocal fry. One of the worst narrators I've encountered to where it was impossible to listen to one short novel let alone the entire trilogy... not that it mattered any.

The female narrator for this novel (and series) is pretty good. Just a few issues here or there, but I appreciate how she sounds close to the age of the character. The male narrator is amazing, to the point I'm going to go check out other novels he narrates. So I could not listen to the New Moon trilogy, but I am breezing my way through the Full Moon series due to the narrators. Had I read these novels, it would have been in reverse. Below I explain why...

There is something addictive to Ada's story, but the biggest issue is how it is truly just a rehash of Lexi's trilogy, to the point that Ada just takes a backseat even when she is narrating. This is basically a retelling of Lexi's story from Ada's POV. It's not about Ada or her mates. It's the same scenes from the first trilogy retold by Ada and her mates but still with Lexi, her mates, and the events that happen the total focal point. This is one of the worst retellings, since it is not fresh info, nor is it info from a differing perspective. It's a rehash, a retelling, as if everything that happened to Lexi was so fascinating that another 4 or 5 narrators just have to regurgitate it.

I am listening for the tiny seeds of what is truly happening to Ada and her mates.

If I were reading these trilogies versus listening, I believe Lexi's trilogy would have been the one to read, as it would have been a comprehensive showing of events by the person they were truly happening to. Whereas this is just a retelling of events from the POV of the person it is NOT happening to. What little crumbs we are given for Ada and her mates is overpowered by the chaotic nuggets barely puzzle-pieced together into a readable (listen-able) story. Even if I had read/listened to Lexi's story, the way this info is delivered would still be incomprehensible.

If I wasn't invested, if I didn't enjoy the narrators, I would 1 star all three novels in this trilogy.

Now that I know the events, I'll give it one more try on the original trilogy, listening at a faster speed and hoping the narrator burns herself out and begins to speak more normally, losing that ridiculous inflection that is at odds with the darker content, instead of some golden age Hollywood siren trying to seduce me in a black and white movie.

I had a few good chuckles of actual quotes, lines, and plot points "borrowed" from popular YA movies and books. I was waiting for a "Hang on, Spider Monkey" to drop. "Guess the wolf is out of the bag" makes an appearance, and I burst out laughing in the middle of the night while listening to the series.

So I had started listening to this series on Scribd before I had read the first trilogy in this shared world and stopped about halfway through once I realized I needed to haha. I fell for Ada right off the bat. She is so endearing, so adorable, so shy and insecure/lacks confident in herself in the beginning of this journey and as I listen to the rest of the series (combined with the Lexi’s trilogy) she has really come full circle and grown into an amazingly strong woman. I couldnt help wanting to hug her when she was so nervous and anxious to make a friend after her sister went away to college. I remember the days of not knowing anyone and wanting to fit it. Again why I instantly fell for her ❤️

I also loved seeing some new perspectives in this one, seeing how Ada and the rest of the characters saw Lexi and her harem. Not seeing the internal battles Ranger was going through and vulnerabilities Maverick had to overcome. But also got to get into some of the guys’ heads too, I appreciated those POVs. I loved how slowburn this was. It made total sense because of how Ada had to really let herself experience things and find herself in this new dynamic/find her people before things could really start happening. I will say I didnt give it 5 stars because there wasn’t a ton of new stuff in book 1, so after just finishing up the trilogy and the novellas I felt some things were repetitive for me. Again that is my only critique of book 1 of Ada’s trilogy.

I love Noah so much, I understand why things are going for him the way they are. Age is hard at that point in your life. I was so happy to see things progress in book 2 though! Huxley didnt seem ready in book 1 after how he had ghosted Ada and was so shifty with her. Saint is the one who can’t make up his mind and it grates on EVERYONE’s nerves haha. I appreciated some of the side characters more in this one, getting to know new ones, cameos from the others. Overall great job!

Narration was good from these two, I don’t know them off the top of my head but I thought they equally did a good job with all the characters and personalities. it must be hard to keep track of with so many packs and all the families haha. I will say I wished the male narrator had differentiated the main three guys a little more. Sometimes Saint sounded like Hux so it was throwing me a bit. Overall, 4-4.5 stars for the narration. Already listening to book 3 because I am super engaged in this series ❤️

Another Perspective . . .

Ada Stephens has always wanted a close friend and a guy who treats her right. Instead, she is more of a loner. But nobody seems interested. So when Lexi Turner sat next to her in English class, she finally had a friend!

When Ada and Lexi attend an infamous Lovell party one night, she will get a chance to see more of the fascinating Pack Kiba boys. Mysterious Saint was the one she has had a crush on. He hadn’t thought he wanted a mate, at least until he scented her! Everyone’s attention was on Lexi’s scent, but showing interest in Ada could give him an “in” to get closer to Lexi. But Ada is still generating interest, as the good-hearted Noah wants Ada. Huxley, scarred from a past battle and fearing rejection by Ada, still wants her. He has always been there for her, despite his insecurities, even though she never recognized that fact. How are these guys going to fit into her life?

We have a story that is both fast-paced since it is a spin-off, yet slow burn since Ada is forming new relationships. It doesn’t delve deeply into things since reading the New Moon trilogy is assumed to have set the foundation of the story (if we read it). But the story line is still a good one with a variety of interesting characters. Grab your copy and be ready to jump into the next book to see what’s next!

My guilty pleasure is wolf stories. I like the story enough that I will probably read the next book in the series but I really disliked the writing. The author would skip around so much. For example, there was a moment when the MFC introduced someone to her BFF. Someone that us as readers were just being introduced to. My issue is the MFC had just met this character the night before and apparently hung out with her and we as readers learn about it as she is explaining how she met this character to her BFF.
This happened quite a bit throughout the story causing it to be a bit chaotic. I will have to see if the writing gets any better in the next book. This book ends in a cliff hanger which isn’t a deal breaker for me but it may be for others.

Update: after reading other reviews, apparently this book is a rehash of another book but in a different persons POV. I still would have liked to have the author go into this book assuming that the readers didn’t know anything about this world.

So do you remember reading the new moon series. Well the full moon series has returning characters however, the main character is Ada. So you remember that Ada had a slight dilemma. So lets dive into this awesome book. Ada is not a werewolf but she finds out about the supernatural. She does not freak out about it but is really excited because it explains a lot for her. She knew that there was more to what was going on around her. Also she is very talkative and does not have any friends. At one point she thought she did have a friend in Huxley but something happened and then she was alone again. That is until Lexi moves into town and she is determined to be her friend. Now there is a lot that goes on with this book and we see a lot of chemistry with Ada and a few guys. So who are the guys that actually see Ada. We have Huxley, Noah and Saint. Huxley has self esteem issues due to some trauma he experienced when he was young. Noah is young, just by a couple of years and Ada is not sure how she feels about that. Then there is Saint who is older, and he has some secret that he thinks Ada is better without him. Now, with this book we learn more about Ada and what is going on in her head as well as the guys. I can say that this is a great follow up to the new moon series and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book of the full moon series.

Could have been better

I feel slightly cheated by this book. It is a spin off of the New Moon series which I really enjoyed and I was really looking forward to reading about Ada, Noah, Huxley and Saint. I was expecting this book to continue where the other series left off but it was basically a recap of all of the New Moon books hastily written and glossed over a lot of moments that had the potential to really lock down the guys feeling for Ada. This book was a bit of a wasted opportunity.
I will give the rest of the series a chance because I am really rooting for Noah and Huxley! Hopefully now that the bad recap is finished the rest of the relationships and story line can grow and have greater attention to detail!

This is A NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Fallen Wolf: A Paranormal Reverse Harem Romance by Belle Harper is the first book in the Full Moon series. This is my first Belle Harper read and I found myself enjoying this read. It starts out a little slow with the character introductions and laying out some background, but quickly begins to pick up the pace. This is what I would call a PG-13 read, but it is so entertaining and the writing evokes such clear visuals that you fall into the read. There are several wolf packs that co-exist somewhat peacefully. The main heroines are Ada and Lexi and here is where all the drama, angst, mystery and more comes into play. I liked that there was a little Twilight vibe (and the characters actually make reference), but in a more focused way. The book does set you up for the second book (that's a nice way of saying there is a cliffhanger!). Looking forward to the next book...

I am absolutely thrilled to finally get Adas POV in the full moon series. I cannot believe how invested I am in her story with her three potential mates, even more so than I was with Lexi's story - and that's saying something because I loved the first three books! I am eagerly anticipating Noah's perspective after he discovers Ada in his room - he's like an adorable puppy that we all want to protect. And what is Saint hiding? That's one secret I'm dying to uncover. Plus, can Ada truly have mates from different packs? This book has me completely hooked and the only downside is the cliffhanger at the end and having to wait until July for the next installment. But trust me, it will be worth the wait!

I listened to the audiobooks for this series. I'm reviewing here for all 3. I was a little disappointed that the first 2 books are really a re-telling of Lexi's books from Ada's perspective with just a few new things added. It was nice to see that but I was kind of disappointed.

Like the New Moon Series (really should be read or listened to prior to this series) it's a slow-burn YA set. As frustrated as I was with the first two being basically a re-telling, I DO actually really like the characters! Well...except Saint is annoying! (Which, I'm sure Belle Harper did that on purpose LOL)

All in all, I still give this 4 stars because I love that we get more of the world we saw in the previous series, I love Ada and the guys (minus Saint, of course) are just super sweet!

I see.
So there is something you’re supposed to read before this.

Still, whether that’ll help or not, if this is supposed to be a recap of sorts, why is it so bloody scattered and confusing??

I did not understand a lick of what I read till chapter 6 (and I noticed). In the first chapter you’re literally thrust in with no explanation whatsoever, no backstory, no nothing. Who was who, who was what and what the hell anyone was talking about, i didn’t know.
It was choppy, abit all over the place and too fast paced. Ada, I sort of liked her but I did not enjoy her narration and the boys were worse: stereotypical & 2 dimensional. No, I take that back, the best-friend was worse.

I liked the new moon series with Lexi as a main character so I figured I’d read this one. This overlaps that series for the first book and a half. It’s really interesting seeing it from another perspective. I’ll be honest, I didn’t care for this one as much. I loved Noah and Huxley but everyone was so immature. I had to keep reminding. Myself that they are in high school and one of the guys is 16. But he was way more mature than Saint, who was a few years older. It was just frustrating. It was good but not my favorite. Note: there’s no spice in this. It’s definitely YA

Fallen Wolf is book one in the series Full Moon by author Belle Harper. Ok so this one is connected to the series New Moon. This one is all Ada’s story- I love that she has her own series. Ada is, well she’s shy, adorable, rambles and ok let’s just say her character is brilliant. She’s besties with Lexi. And she just might have her own harem- if they get their heads straight. Noah is like a huge puppy -he’s adorable. Huxley he’s shy and so damn hot (but he’s from another pack). Saint, well he’s sexy (in all honesty they are drop dead gorgeous)- he’s also an ass.
Enjoy!!

Someone get Belle and editor.... or a proof reader at least!

These are great stories BUT the typos make it annoying to read them. There are so many that it becomes distracting.
I would not complain so much if these were free, or low cost, books, but releasing at over $3 US I would expect sentences to make sense, and words to be where they should be, deapite the occasional spelling error or misuse of homophones.
Have you tried a team.of Beta readers, or even an ARC group who could help you out here?

Annoying but good

I recommend youngest the series about Levi as the mc first as this will make more sense.

This is Adas point of view, and she spent most of the time either complaining about how unfair life is, or whining about how Levi has all the things she wants! It amazes me she wasn't found read in a Dutch due to her complaining alone!!

The difference between the 2 books is amazing as Levi just grits her teeth and gets on with it and Ads complains!
The 5* and the saving Grace of the book is the pov of the guys.

It started so well, I loved the middle part, but for some reason the final part was so tedious, everything was very strange, there were plot twists that were like, okay? WHY, they just didn't make sense. Will I read the second part? I don't think so, maybe I'll change the rating to three stars later but not right now, it's just that as I said at the beginning I really liked the book at first, it was just really giving me Wattpad vibes and I'm a closet fan of those kinds of stories, I'm sorry I really don't feel like continuing with the next one :/
