Ever since the fun-loving Howard sisters turned their childhood home into one of the finest inns in Acorn Hill, Pennsylvania, they have been blessed with many memorable guests and heartwarming experiences. Now, they share their favorite never-before told recollections about the visitors who made Christmas at the inn especially unforgettable. Their list — a grumpy old man, a heartbroken newlywed and an ill-behaved child — may surprise you, until you witness how the hope, love and joy, that permeates the inn, especially at Christmas, changes hearts for the better.
Three uplifting novellas about Christmas miracles at the inn that will warm your heart.
Melody Carlson is the award-winning author of over two hundred books, several of them Christmas novellas from Revell, including her much-loved and bestselling book, The Christmas Bus.
She also writes many teen books, including the Diary of a Teenage Girl series, the TrueColors series, and the Carter House Girls series.
Melody was nominated for a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award in the inspirational market for her books, including the Notes from a Spinning Planet series and Finding Alice, which is in production as a Lifetime Television movie. Three sisters, Alice, Louise and Jane own a Bed and Breakfast called Grace Chapel Inn. This book is their recollections of the visitors who stayed with them at Christmas. Alice remembers is written by Melody Carlson and is about a widower, Mr. Grover who has come to stay with them. At first glance he looks like a homeless person and is not very friendly. But as time goes by he warms up to Alice and the other guests and you find out the reason for his grumpiness.
Louis Remembers is written by Beth Adams. It is about newlyweds Lauren and Jordan who are in town to celebrate Christmas with Jordan's Aunt Viola. Also, Louise's daughter Cynthia has come home for the holidays. You find out that all those wonderful Christmas traditions you celebrate that bring so much joy to you may not bring joy to everaneyone.
Jane Remembers is written by Anne Marie Rodgers and is about a mother and young daughter who came to celebrate their Christmas at the Inn without reservations. As luck would have it there had been a cancellation. Chris and Calla Rosdahl. Calla-when most children are on their best behavior before Christmas, Calla is the most miserable child around. But she had good reason and Jane manages to bring back her happiness.
Three Christmas stories within one book is an added benefit to any book. Melody Carlson, Beth Adams, and Anne Marie Rodgers have certainly written a book that brings the true spirit and meaning of Christmas to life.
Grace Chapel Inn is a place that I would like to visit at Christmas time as the ladies that run the inn are all such interesting characters and would make it a very special time. The Howard Sisters are more than just inn keepers to their guests they become family and help the guests with problems in their lives that will make their holidays even more special.
Sisters Alice, Louise and Jane run the Grace Chapel Inn together, each of them contributing their talents to create a pleasant place for guests to stay. There are many reasons to spend Christmas away from one's home. As the holiday approaches the three women share recollections about their most memorable visitors and how the people changed from the time they checked in until their departure after Christmas was over. Three stories, each written by a different author will warm your heart and make you crave hot cocoa with gingerbread cookies no matter what time of year you read them.
This book was great. These three authors, Melody Carlson, Beth Adams and Anne Marie Rodgers, have a knack for bringing the reader into the story. They make you feel as if you are in the story. You can feel what the characters are feeling, the joy, the pain and the memories. I loved that the settings of each story was Christmas and that they revolved around the 3 Howard sisters and their memories.
It was wonderful to be back at Grace Chapel Inn with Louise, Alice and Jane. I loved their series and this book was just what I needed to bring it all back and start the Christmas season. Thank you to my sister for sharing her copy (and the series) with me. This read was awesome.
I am in the process of reading this entire series and have found it delightful. Zero drama, no swearing, no sex, just 3 sisters running a bed-and-breakfast with grace, love, and faith.
It was nice to re-visit the sisters of Grace Chapel Inn. Each one told the story of a Christmas guest that visited over Christmas. It was nice to read the stories again. The Sisters always make each visitor feel welcome and 9 times out of ten guest leaves with a changed attitude and wonderful memories.
