Carnivore Cure: The Ultimate Elimination Diet to Attain Optimal Health and Heal Your Body

Rate this book
Carnivore Cure  is the first elimination protocol to explain how to adopt a meat-based diet to bring about healing. Get back to optimal health by finding the perfect foods to fuel your individual body.

Most elimination diets work to an extent but fail to consider all the individual, physical symptoms, and food sensitivities. Most elimination diets remove processed foods and additives but fail to remove plant-based toxins that can contribute to disease.

Until now.

Introducing, Carnivore Cure.

You start with meats that have the least number of allergens and sensitivities. Once you reach a baseline of health, then you can incorporate other meats that may have previously caused a sensitivity. As you heal the gut, if you choose to, you can slowly add back plant-based foods.

Carnivore Cure will allow you to figure out what plant-based foods can work for your body in the long term. The Carnivore Cure will support you to find your happy medium by focusing on meat-based diet while incorporating the safest plants with most food intolerances considered.

This book provides you a step by step protocol to optimal health while also providing you extensive nutritional information and support for a meat-based diet, including debunking nutrition misinformation and providing lifestyle support through the lens of holistic health.

YOU CAN HEAL.  Because the right food is medicine.

Eliminate the wrong foods and eat the right foods for you, and you alone. Take your life back with the Carnivore Cure.

Best Nutrition Book I Have Ever Read

I have read most of the diet/nutrition books out there. This book is about so much more than adopting a carnivore lifestyle. Cho does an amazing job of making the case for the carnivore lifestyle by essentially dismantling the argument for eating any other way. Vegans should take notice. So, should carbohydrate lovers. The author’s thorough review of what modern day pesticides and even the natural toxins in or on our food, especially vegetables and fruits, do to our food. She makes a strong case for eliminating them.

Cho goes further by taking a deep dive into metabolism and how it works as well as how toxins affect us and, ultimately, our health. Cho continually builds her case by shining a bright light of knowledge and facts on what our bodies require in the way of nutrition and how to achieve our best health. And, the cure is eating carnivore.

I'm finished, but not finished, as this book is serving more as a "How to" manual for me at the moment. I love that she put so many graphs and charts, because it makes it easier for me to digest the information.

A little too much in the weeds for me. I’m not 100% sure we fully understand how the body works and what vitamins and minerals are needed and at what levels. I listened to it as an audiobook and it was little dry. Especially when reading the numerous charts and graphs. Definitely not for someone just starting a carnivore diet as this has too much data and may prevent someone from actually starting.

What I expected this book to be is a bit different than what it actually is.

I had expected a book with more narrative and cohesiveness. But Carnivore Cure is more like a grab bag of health information.

Topics include how digestion works, the importance of stomach acid, what not to eat (and why), sugars and sweeteners, GMOs, hormones, holistic health advice, etc. Yes, Cho talks about the carnivore diet and her multi-week plan to get started on it. But it's not a huge part of the book.

Sometimes there were some disconnects between a subhead and what followed. An example is the section on "Fiber." This section is really a discussion about butyrate and the best sources of it. The section ends with only one comment about fiber: "While it's too early to say that the body definitively does or doesn't need fiber, if you want some fiber in your diet, [...] have some ham--it's been found to have a bit of fiber." (p. 242)

I disagree with this last statement as I've read research showing that fiber is not necessary and is actually harmful. Maybe she's not seen this research? One study including 63,550 people showed a higher rate of colorectal cancer in vegetarians. And quoting from PEO Solution , "Fiber irritates patients' delicate digestive tracts and colons as confirmed, in 1999 and 2000, by the New England Journal of Medicine and Lancet, which published evidence that patients consuming the most fiber (without regard to solubility) developed the most colon cancer." (p. 128)

Despite my criticisms, I underlined many nuggets of information I found valuable and want to review. For example, Cho provides an excellent 3-page section on the dangers of sunscreen (pp. 350-3). And I learned some new things. That said, I feel like the book could have been much better with some sort of narrative thread to tie together all the information.

FYI - this book has many typos. Also, near the end of the book she says fluoride is good at preventing cavities, which is completely false. She needs to read The Fluoride Deception by Christopher Bryson.

DNF. I met the author and wanted to know some of the science behind her passion. Sadly I realized later that the book was self-published. It could have used some good editing, as the chapters bounced around and sometimes included opinions that seemed completely irrelevant to the rest of the information. I wanted to be convinced to try the carnivore diet and have good scientific reasoning behind the decision, but the information provided wasn't compelling enough in the way that it was presented to keep my attention long enough to convince me. I may pick it up again some day, but after 5 months of it sitting around at half-read status, I'm giving up.

I love this book, it covers so much about health and nutrition, but there are a lot of typos in the book, sometimes it says mg but should say mcg, sometimes she has forgotten a word, on a list it says high calcium foods, but then it says high magnesium foods in the foodlist? How can she has missed these typos? Still a great book. I was mislead tho and thought beef liver contains 57mg of molybdenum, but now i found out it was mcg.

This is a well-researched book with many helpful resources and visual aids. I would recommend this book for anyone struggling with health or mental issues and considering a change in diet. From my own experience the carnivore elimination diet is doable and sustainable. This book gave some backbone to my previous research of the carnivore diet and helped solidify my decision to keep going with this lifestyle.

This is an interesting concept and I found the book to be balanced and well researched. I would recommend the print copy however. Listening to the author rattle her way through all the data in chart after chart was a bit mind numbing.

Fantastic book, brilliantly written

Clear, direct information, well set out and highly insightful, especially regarding emotions around food. I have now listened to Judy’s podcasts and she is a very respectful interviewer and a joy to listen to on the topic of metabolic health.

The best source for learning to heal your body through a ground zero approach for anyone, vegan, veggie or someone on a typical western diet.

This book is one of the best books on the carnivore diet

Judy Cho's work is helping lots of people heal around the world

The Carnivore Diet is literally the best elimination diet to heal your gut (but you may need some additional support from other protocols)

I've tested it for 20+ days and I felt reborn:

- No Bloating

- Laser-Like Focus

- No "post-eating crash"

- No cravings nor hunger (one meal a day easily)

- Reduced Joint Pain

- Drastically reduced acne (works for all skin issues)

- Time-saving (cooking just 10-30m a day)

- Decreased body fat and increased muscle mass

- Money-saving (depends if grass-fed or not)

99.99% of people who try it find similar benefits and some even reverse chronic diseases

It does require some preparation to do it correctly but it's all worth it (organs servings, sourcing quality meats, electrolytes, vitamin C)

I didn't yet found anyone who had bad reactions apart from temporary weakness (ketosis adaptation + electrolytes imbalance) and "constipation" (increase fat + is not bad - it means the body doesn't have waste to dump)

Some people had skin issues with mass-produced meats because they are fed GMOs, toxins and Hormones

Other than that, almost anyone feels better with it.

I certainly won't stop eating this way anytime soon.

PS: I recommend you watch out for bad-quality or infected meats (OGM - hormones - antibiotics - parasites), pick yours very carefully

I've had a very bad experience with one

Judy's book meticulously explains the diet, what to expect, and what lead up to her adopting this way of eating. Felt a bit long at points, but good information, all of it.

I would have preferred a hard copy of this book, either hard or softback. Reading some of the charts was difficult because they appeared so small. So far, I think only the kindle version is available.

Overall there was a lot of content, some of which was very basic so is ideal for someone exploring this way of eating for the first time.

Judy Cho published a well-researched book that was easy to understand and apply. I started the diet before reading her book. It's great to have the reinforcement and background behind the effectiveness of the diet.

This book helped me understand what I was doing and why when my doctor "recommended" I go on the meat-only (or animal products only) diet to see if it made any difference in my mystery symptoms. It especially helped me understand how nutritious animal products are. I appreciate the information I received.
