As the dinner approaches, she grows more and more exasperated by her children’s relentless efforts to set her up on a blind date. But one day, when a kind stranger helps her with car troubles, Dianne decides to take matters into her own hands.

Steve Creighton fits the bill He’s handsome, he’s charming, and he owns a decent suit. This is apart of the Sealed with a Kiss anthology.
This story was super cute but it's hard for me to rate a novella higher than a 3 because its just so quick. In this one, a woman is trying to find a date for a Valentine's Day Party. She's divorced and her 2 tween age kids are trying to help her find a date, but she's not loving anyone they set her up with. However, one day she locks herself out of her car and she spills her whole story to the man who comes to help her. She offers him $30 to come to the dinner with her and the fake dating trope begins. She offers to pay him more to come meet her mom and kids before because she wants to put up the front that they've been talking for awhile. She makes up a story about having met him in the grocery store and when he comes over, he charms her family. When they go to the party she realizes he's actually a super wealthy business owner and she's furious (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me) and they don't talk for awhile but then it all ends happily ever after.

Loved this book. From the funniest first line I've ever read, I was hooked and laughing nonstop throughout the whole short read. I'd consider this more of a novelette than a novel, but that didn't bother me. Fun read that I'll be telling about to all my romcom-loving friends.

Fun read!

This was a quick read by one of my favorite authors. Dianne thinks being divorced and the mother of two children means that Steve couldn’t possibly be interested in her. She hires Steve to attend a Valentines dinner with her to keep her children and mother from setting her up on blind dates. Little does she know that Steve is keeping a secret. Humor, new beginnings, and a HEA.

Such a great love story; although this one was a touch bit unrealistic. Most of Debbie’s stories are realistic love stories and you can put yourself in the shoes of one of the main characters.
This one - not so much. Everything was just too perfect and there wasn’t anything wrong with anyone.
Still great and a super quick read.

Diane needs a date for the annual Valentines dinner at the community center. She meets Steve and he is handsome and nice enough, so she offered to pay him to attend the dinner with her. At the dinner, Diane feels tricked by Steve because he is the owner of a successful trucking company and he never told her. In the end, he has to convince her that he is falling for her.

Cute story. I would have liked to know what Steve was thinking, not just Dianne.

I know the book was a novella, but I wanted more. It did not end right. There should have been some more dating with no secrets, maybe even a proposal.

All in all, a quick fun read.

Maccomber is always an enjoyable read. The female protagonist is a bit too much out of touch for me.
