I'm Justin Mauler, student of Mazirian Academy, Creation Mage, and now the new owner of a poltergeist named Barry Chillgrave.
Who'd have expected having a deceased buccaneer as your resident dungeon-running poltergeist would lead to trouble?
Yeah, it's pretty much a given.
And now I’ve discovered that my spell list might be limited. Which means only one thing: I have to find a way to break that limit. And if anyone knows about Creation Magic, it’s my dead dad.
Good thing we’ve found a way I can speak with him. But it’s going to require some serious footwork. Maybe even a murder or two. Or three.
This book should been entitled “a funny thing happened on the way to book 5”. Completely worthless to anyone following the series and should only be purchased and read if you have absolutely nothing to do. No freshness or romance or really anything. It got so boring I had to skip pages to keep the story interesting. The character has become a gore loving horn dog and not worthy of read about. His friends forgotten. . . Just skip it!
This series always has me smiling at the funny little quips the MC makes. The characters are interesting and the plot is pretty good as well. The world building continues to well done and very surprising at times.
Learning More About History This story revolves around Justin Mauler learns more about his family history and the history of the world of Avolonia he's found himself in.
He has a new professor who takes a special interest in him, Odette Scaleblade, who is teaching about care of Vectors, but quickly recognizes Justin's vector as containing two souls and one of them is his Dad's, so he can complete a quest and an unknown (to him) ritual and get a small amount of time to talk to his father and learn what he can. Most importantly what the limits are to the unique way he increases his power and spell repertoire.
Some of the funnest parts of the stories are developing to be the partying in the fantasy context with lots of magical and magical drugs and alcohols, set in a fantastical frat house. Now that the frat has a poltergeist, and a particularly powerful one at that, the house is in a constant state of improvement.
Duel with Rival house.
Quest to kill three "known criminals" who have bounties out on them, in order to capture their souls to use in the ritual.
Forms a party from several selected from his growing circle. Madame Xel and Odette are primaries, along with a third Chaosbane brother, Mortimer, who is a bounty hunter by trade.
A little morality but not much regarding hunting down and killing. Various interesting circumstances.
Each quests involves traveling via gate to some interesting new part of Avolonia. Pirate town, the largest market bazaar in the world, etc.
All successes of course, a few answers but not enough from Dad.
The mage game qualifiers are only a few days away.
Entertaining sword and sorcery + amorous sexy babes
The references to pop culture movies, music, people and sayings has become very entertaining and humorous. Im glad that the main character isnt the only man in that gets to have amorous adventures. All said, its been an entertaining read. Im also glad that Justin Malory is no longer rushing headlong into every situation without thought or plan (after drinking heavily.... that's just stupid to me), but seems to be at least wiling to learn how to be more effective rather than just trusting everything to come up roses (until it doesnt). Looking forward to reading book 5 to see what twists and turns occur in the Mage Games.
A great 4th installment with a tiny cliffhanger ending
Lots of twists and turns in this installment. We meet another member of the Chaosbane family and more adventures. It is really 3/adventures in one book as they all fit together. It picks up at the very end of book 3 and the first fight scene is epic and had me in tears of laughter. The great of the book just continued along on the same vein. Looking forward to book 5
As much as we all wished an owl had given us a letter to attend a magical school in England, I tell you that I would rather a Chaosbane whisk me to Justin’s academy and frat. It would be the most entertaining time of anyone’s life. Dante, you have created a fantastic universe and the storyline up to now is amazing. I can’t wait for book 5.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I read it in record time. I was unable to put it down. Justin has to collect three powerful souls to use in a spell to speak with his father. The story and characters continue to be engaging and intriguing. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading. On to the next one...
By now, in the third book, you know if you like the general premise of the series or not. This is a good to great installment in this series. The stakes rise a little bit, we are introduced to more people, and more adventures ensue. The general tone is unchanged. There's a bit more action and a bit less sex. The main character is still the same attitude and ability. In summary, if you liked the other books, you'll likely like this one as well.
This series is getting beyond good, it’s ramping up quite nicely! The world building is continuously getting bigger and bolder. Justin is getting stronger and I swear somehow the jokes are getting funnier. 🤣. His harem is growing quite nicely as well. The mystery is also quite good and the action is paced and timed right as well. King is doing a splendid job with this series so far. I can’t wait until I start the next book! Onward lads!
If you had a magical staff and find out that one of the most powerful mages of all time was your father and his soul is within this same staff, would you try all you can do to find out a way to talk to him? Then that's what our MC does. This was another fun read cover to cover and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Justin has been improving as a mage but is reaching his limits, but with the help of his friends and teachers is on a quest to unlock his father's staff. Sharp dialogue, with fast paced action and hot sex! What more could you want? Seriously this is an excellent series and I'm anxious for the next installment
Well Dante Does it again. He continues to write great books in the Creation Mage Series. I love the characters in this series. Justin, his girlfriends, ans female teachers. Are a riot to read about. Both hilarious and exciting to read and learn more about.
This author I find to really good at storytelling. Books seem to have good humer and we'll written with the right amount of story, combat and adult content.
A fantastic adult fantasy storyline!!! You will laugh and be enthralled throughout this series!!! Exceptional characters and a MC is who isn't over done!!!
The story continues in the adventures in a magical University in another dimension. With a little bit of horror adventure and sexy times in college magical college that is.
One of Dante King’s most successful series, he added some twists on this episode. Quite the cliffhanger too - the next book will have some sweet answers I can hardly wait for!
Another great tale I hope continue this tale beyond book 5 you keep writing ill keep reading I do wish though you harem fantasy writers made long books single day reads barley satisfy my needs
A whirlwind trip along this exciting adventure. Only downfall is that the passage of time is super short for each book. Only a few days to a week. Makes it feel like the author will keep us dangling for years for the completed story. Still it’s definitely worth reading
The evolution of a mage is begun. Collecting magic and girlfriends as he goes, and preparing for the mage qualifying games, our hero embarks on a quest to commune with his dead father. A fun read.
Justin has finally met his long lost father. He has also found the Dragon spirit that was his first staff that was absorbed by the black crystal staff he now carries. On to book five!
The story continues to increase in pace but not overwhelming so, just a nice solid push. The humor and quips continue to be excellent and humorous. The characters are bold and an enormous amount of fun to be around.
This is a good book. You shouldy read it. I like the story. The characters are fun. The book is a good read. i enjoyed it alot.. Download or buy it today. why not?
