Augh! I knew it, that priest was freaking suspicious in the earliest volumes!! Damn. I knew that face couldn't be trusted!
I remembered something I thought about the previous volume, nothing special or significant though. Just that, the whole premise of this series reminds me of Arabian literature I had read before. That curiosity will lead you to danger, and I thought, that perfectly summarizes the theme of this story.

Few action in this volume but lots of very interesting information. The final pages end on a suspenseful and scary cliffhanger.
The quality in art is still lower than in the previous volumes but the story is so good that I’ll pretend I didn’t notice.

Yes, I keep on reading, haha, this is now the final parts and I just NEED TO KNOW! In this one we get some ominous stuff featuring a shadow of the island's teacher along with the kids. We get information from Sou's dad and there were a few moments that had me go OMG. I felt for Sou's mom at this point. That poor woman. There are tons of revelations and we also get some more backstory most importantly on Haine! And then also a big big twist that I just didn't saw coming and had me shocked! That is definitely a twist, love love it!
And I am so happy that everyone is still alive. A lot of the loops someone inevitably died because of everything, but here I am happy. But I am very sus of Nezu. Either the mangaka forgot or Nezu isn't Nezu. In several chapters he had that patch on his ear because he was hit, but in the chapter after he went home he has a healed ear/no patch.
And chapter 90 had me both in OMG NO and AWWW *cries* mode.
And I am so happy that everyone is still alive. A lot of the loops someone inevitably died because of everything, but here I am happy. But I am very sus of Nezu. Ha........ as smart as Shinpei and the gang are sometimes, the villains too are also on top of their game. I feel like I got whiplash reading this volume. It's like my heart was hyperventilating watching everything unfold but I didn't even want to stop to take a breather.
Although i'd guessed who he was, Shide's reveal was so good. What a mindfuck of a character!
Shinpei and his objectivity. It such an interesting character trait but in the most critical moment, he still falters and Ushio has to take the reins. It's disappointing but at the same time, I understand he's just human so I can't fault him for it.
On to 10!

Nov 22, 2021: Woooooooah. Okay, I wasn't prepared for that at ALL. This series has the plot twist cliffhangers down pat. I'm in a certain kind of mood, gang. I think I'm gonna try and read the last four volumes right now. This is getting REALLY good!
Oct 25, 2022: This volume has a bit of a slower pace to it, but it hits a crescendo HARD at the end there. The big reveal of Shide's identify is one of the coolest moments in the series.

Im bliżej końca serii tym fabuła i klimat mangi coraz bardziej się zagęszcza. Doskonałym przykładem tego jest właśnie tomik dziewiąty. Gdzie autor mistrzowsko buduje napięcie, stopniowo odkrywając coraz więcej szczegółów na temat mrocznej tajemnicy cieni i ich powiązania z rodziną Aoshimy. Z każdą kolejną przeczytaną stroną pojawiają się nowe tropy i teorie, które nie tylko napędzają naszą ciekawość, ale również skłaniają nas do rozważań nad tym, co wydarzy się dalej.
Shinpei i jego towarzysze ciągle prowadzą walkę z Heinym i jego cieniami. Chłopak zdaje sobie sprawę z tego, że zbliża się do nieprzekraczalnej granicy, dlatego jest mocno zdeterminowany, aby odnieść sukces. Duża uwaga zostaje tu także poświęcona rodzinie Hishigata, która mocno powiązana jest z wyspą i dziejącymi się na niej wydarzeniami. Sekrety tego miejsca częściowo odkrywa doktor Seidou, dzięki czemu możemy poznać prawdziwy cel Haine.
Odkrywanie fabularnych sekretów jest tu ponadto całkiem dobrze połączone z wartką akcją. Dynamicznych momentów może nie ma tu zbyt wiele, ale jeśli się już pojawiają, to są naprawdę bardzo dobrze zaprezentowane. Scenom tym nie brakuje adrenaliny, a także mocnych emocji towarzyszących bohaterom....
