Strada Stretta: Aktar Dawl Fuq it-Triq Li Darba Xeghlet il-Belt

Rate this book
To the casual viewer, Strait Street, popularly known as Strada Stretta was an irresistible invitation to fly in the of inhibition and give in to the basest desires. But for local residents, who felt they had to confirm to the puritanical expectations of a still stoically Catholic society, it was a different matter altogether.
And here les the appeal of this book, which consists of a series of interviews with people who lived in Strait Street during its "golden age".

A well researched and well compiled book, real people who lived in the best of this infamous street when the Royal navy and later the 6th Nato fleet docked in the maltese ports...bringing money not only to the street but to Valletta as well....the real accounts from its residents about great people who started their musical and theatre career from this street.... For people like me who don't remember it's golden era it's a gem....a must have book....well done to the author!
