They have it all...except the one thing that matters most.
Justin Travers is having a rough year. His company is in trouble, forcing him to lay off the majority of his staff just to keep things afloat. When he meets Brooke Alexander, she gives him a much-needed wake-up call. Not only is his company in danger of extinction, but his own reputation also needs some work.
Brooke barely survives the mass layoffs for one reason: she's the lowest-paid member of the marketing team. But she sees the opportunity to help Justin improve his reputation and, as a result, help his company return to the good days.
As they work together to rebuild things, Brooke and Justin feel an attraction they can't fight. When Justin's reputation suffers yet another blow, their budding relationship faces a challenge they may not be able to overcome.
The Silicon Valley Billionaires series is a sweet, clean contemporary billionaire series filled with swoon-worthy heroes and plenty of romantic moments.

Actual rating 3.5: I really thought this was sweet! Warning: it is VERY short. I read it in record time of 30 minutes. It’s 68 pages. This book gets a 3.5 star because I would have loved it to be longer, even like 100 pages longer. There’s this whole thing about this tech company stealing the main tech company’s idea for the app that the main character owns. This book is so short that it talks so much about how it’s struggling because of it. Then a reporter wants to come in do a story on it. That’s the end of the matter and there’s one sentence about it at the end. The company is doing better. Like where’s the rest of the plot?!
This was a good short novella; but I would have loved for it to be a 180-250 page book. The main conflict is so complex and yet, it feels like they don’t address the solution or the fix. The main characters kissed once, started dating immediately and then in 2 weeks decided to meet the parents and professed their love for one another. Brooke and Justin were cute and pretty well developed characters, much more than I was expecting. The writing was pretty good which saved this book for me, but it also made me sad because I wanted MORE book. It felt unfinished.
Storyline: 5/10 (general good but given that it was so short not well built up) Boy: 5/10 Girl: 5/10 Lovestory: 3/10 Comments: When I downloaded it, I didn’t know it was a short story, but it’s pretty short and an easy read. Brooke thinks she is getting fired but actually she is the only one from the marketing team staying because the start up she works in, isn’t performing well. She tells the guy talking to her that she thinks the founder is wasting money and what a surprise she is talking to the owner. (Why would she work in Marketing and in general in the company without knowing the face representing it??). She takes over and wants to reinvent his image. They go on a fair together and kiss and go on a date- which doesn’t get described further. Back at the office Brooke sees Justin hugging another colleague and thinks he is together with that women so she tries to get out of his way. Until he confronts her, tells her he is in love with her and the End
This book was a nice short read. I just don’t really like the ‘we’ve kissed once so now we are in a relationship’ kind of books. I really enjoyed the first half when the book seemed focussed on the plot and on the business. But then when it shifted more to the relationship, it seemed like in the space of 20 pages, she was mad at him to then being whisked off and telling him she loved him?! Idk it just gave me whiplash. Also ‘he remembered my favourite water’ really I’d what put this from 3 stars to 2. It made me cringe and water is water?? Also there where some he/ she grammar errors at the start and it always annoys me when that happens! But I understand that it happens sometimes!
All in all a cute read but I just didn’t get that into it.
This is a novella length story of the Silicon Valley Billionaires. It is specifically about Justin and Brooke, Justin being the elusive billionaire while Brooke is preparing herself to be laid off. However, things don't pan out that way and the reader is taken on an easy to read and enjoyable story about a tech company that has financial problems. Great length for quick afternoon reading. Clean and sweet.
The idea of this book SOUNDS great in theory but there is absolutely nothing enemies to lovers about this. It’s only 11 chapters long and truly could’ve been longer and more drawn out, with more detail given to add to the story. It felt very juvenile and lacked a lot. I read the whole thing in about an hour and it felt very Wattpad to me. The timeline is so fast paced and they fall in love within what seems to be two weeks
Trusting the Billionaire by Macie St. James This book was good. I snagged it during stuff your kindle day. This was a cute sweet billionaire romance. This was such a quick read. This would be a really good reading slump read. It was good but not amazing. Would recommend it if you want a quick, fun cute read. I loved how sweet this romance was. The only romance was a kiss.
Well it wasn’t enemies to lovers as the blurb may have said, it was misunderstanding to being in love, not lovers as the story is clean, completely clean! Having said that it was a nice short read that outlined that people can be attracted to another person not based solely on looks or bank account balances.
Trusting the Billionaire is a good short story that tells the story of Justin and Brooke. These two appear throughout the Silicon Valley Billionaires series.
I really like this book. It did take me a while to read it but only because I’ve been in a stupid, terrible, reading slump. It was really good tho. I kinda liked the instant love and mmc is just super cute. Definitely recommend
This is a VERY short book, under 70 pages. Was a little too short for me. I really think it would have been stronger with just maybe 50-100 more pages.
I liked the idea and the characters but it was just so rushed.
Cute story. Short so would potentially read again. However, I would in no way say this is an enemy to lovers situation. She tells him off once and then suddenly they are “in love”.
First time I've read something from Macie St. James. This was a good short story - easy to read, interesting characters and plot. A nice break between longer books on my TBR list.
2.5 The kindle cover of this book is much cuter. I know it’s a novella but I fill like the author tried to pack a lot into this little story and it didn’t always land.
