USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestselling author Janie Crouch writes what she loves to read: passionate romantic suspense.
After a lifetime on the East Coast—and a six-year stint in Germany due to her husband's job as support for the U.S. Military—Janie has settled into her dream home in Front Range of the Colorado Rockies. She loves engaging in all sorts of adventures (triathlons! 200-mile relay races! mountain treks!), traveling, and surviving life with four kids.
Heroes exist. Let a Janie Crouch book prove it to you.

The county found him one but it’s his ex girlfriend that married another man. Charlotte Devereux has a major in special education but can only get tutoring jobs because of her ex in-law’s. Charlie is homeless, works three jobs and just learned her ex, the love of her life, won’t let her tutor his little boy. When Charlie gets caught up in some shady stuff, Finn and his buddies must find her before it’s too late. This is the best one I’ve read so far. I loved Charlie and Finn. Charlie is strong and independent. Finn is protective and forgiving. Action. Sex. Second chance for love. I can’t wait to read the others.

I am really enjoying this series. Janie Crouch has me on the edge of my seat with suspense and my heart filling with love. Finn is an amazing dad, and that is so attractive. He is protective and loving and it’s easy to see why Charley fell I love with him. Charley is incredible. She is smart, intuitive and loyal to the end. The twists and turns make this ride so exciting and fun and I am looking forward to the next in the series.
Tom Campbell is a new narrator for me, and I really enjoyed his performance. He narrates with expertise and precision. I love his voice, easily fits the story and he finds a rhythm making the listen an enjoyable experience. Good pacing and great voices make his portrayal emotional and exciting.
Cyclone This was my first book by Janie Crouch and I really enjoyed it. It is a fast moving and action packed story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Zac and Anne had a history, don’t anticipate seeing one another again but unexpectedly come back into each others lives. There’s some baggage, misunderstandings but they both have held onto feelings for one another. Will they be able to work through them?
This is a fantastic story with strong characters full of intense emotions. It has the perfect amount of romance, suspense and gotta love the protective military men!!
Eagle Another fantastic, action packed book in the Linear Tactical series.
Charlie/Charlie is a bit down on her luck but she is determined to make something for herself…she’s back in tow, has several people that wish she was t back and just wants someone to give her a chance.
Finn is a single dad who wants the best for his son. His reaction to seeing Charlie is not the best but his son Ethan is smitten with her.
As they work through their feelings, help Ethan they also realize they are in danger. Characters from the precious book have cameos and help them with the dangerous situation.
I’m looking forward to other books in the series.
This is also my first listen to Tom Campbell as a narrator. He does a fantastic job being each character to live with the perfect inflection, emotion and delivery. I enjoy audiobooks as they being a whole new experience to enjoying a book!
Two for one review here! CYCLONE Review: Annie and Zac are one of my favorite book couples. I love how Zac notices her anxiety and tries to help her. I also love how Zac realized what he did to Annie years ago and how he says he will never be able to make it up to her enough. Annie finds herself in a situation that isn't ideal, and Zac can't be there for her as quickly as she needs him to, but the ending of that is sweet.
EAGLE Review: I love how the beginning of this book begins at an event in the first first book. I liked seeing a different viewpoint on that event and what happened there. In this book, Charlie (Charlotte) and Finn get their second chance. I liked how we learned about what happened to Charlie while she was away from Oak Creek and how things have completely changed for her. You usually don't get a lot of that side of the story in other books.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Overall, both books are great. If I had to pick one over the other, I would pick Cyclone. I think this is a great series for someone who is wanting to get into romantic suspense. Both books are fairly light on spice and don't have a lot of graphic details of some suspense books. Tom Campbell narrated these books and he is new to me. I can see why a suspense author would use him. I would have preferred this book in dual or duet narration, but that would be difficult with how the book was written.
I was sent a free audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review. Cyclone Review: This is was my first time listening to a book by this author. If I’m being honest, I really struggled through this book. The conflict between Zac and Anne completely fell flat for me. Zac and Anne have a bad past together. Anne was Zac’s wife’s best friend. Basically, he was terrible to Anne in the past, and she just completely forgave him and then boom they were in love. I just didn’t feel that wonderful hero/heroine push pull that keeps the reader engaged in the story. The writing was okay. I just had trouble caring about these characters. Eagle Review This book was pretty good. I really liked Finn and Charlie, and I found myself rooting for their happily ever after. The conflict was strong and kept me reading until the end. I finished this book in one day. I loved how Charlie’s life isn’t easy but she just keeps on fighting. She’s strong and independent. Finn is just all around a good guy. Charlie hurt him in the past but eventually he’s able to look past that hurt and forgive her.
Both books had the same narrator. His narration took a little time to get used to but I thought he did a good job.
This is books 1 and 2 in Crouch's new series Linear Tactical. A well written suspense romance that is beautifully narrated and completely captivating. I loved getting both the first and second installments in this series to listen back-to-back as we get both Cyclone and Eagle. Cyclone is Zac and Anne’s story which is a second chance romance with these two main characters having history dating back to high school when a misunderstanding breaks them apart but now, they've met back up and the chemistry between them is still just as strong as it always has been. Still with a suspense element that keeps the reader enthralled in this exciting storyline. Eagle is Finn and Charlie’s story. More contemporary romance with Charlie being Finn's knight in shining armor type romance but again with a suspense element that is exciting. Again, loved the narration and the storylines for both are captivating with a great level of steamy chemistry. Can't wait for more!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review. *this review is based on the audio version of this book.
Former military Love after loss Second chance Romantic Suspense
Annie was Zac’s late wife’s best friend and has always loved him since they were kids, but he was always with her best friend so she respected that. But 2 weeks after Zac’s wife’s tragic death, he and Annie have a horrible drunken one night stand that Zac doesn’t remember and Annie cannot ever forget.
It’s now 6 years later, they are different people back in the same home town and ‘That Night’ is still between them. Throw in some high school mean girls, lots of town gossips and a serial rapist hunting in the surrounding counties and there is a lot going on while Zac tries to win Annie over.
Book 2 - Eagle
Former Military Second Chance Single Dad Romantic Suspense
Finn will do anything and everything to make sure his son will thrive. Even work with the woman that broke his heart.
Charlie is working anywhere she can to make the money she needs to keep herself afloat. She married someone else, when all she wanted was Finn and now that everything is gone, she’s doing whatever she can to hold onto what little happiness she has left.
Can Finn get Charlie to accept his help, to breakdown her walls and trust him enough to find happiness together again?
Both books were narrated by Tom Campbell. He has good tone and is pleasant to the ears, but the narration falls a little flat. I enjoyed the stories enough that I didn’t want to stop listening, but I wasn’t completely engrossed and didn’t feel the highs, lows and emotional spikes the way I would have liked.
I requested and was provided with a copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.
Janie Crouch is a new author to me and I wasn't disappointed! The Linear Tactical series is off to a great start with Cyclone and Eagle. I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of these men!
Cyclone is the story of Zack and Annie. Zack lost his wife and unborn child years ago and doesn't see love again in his future. Annie is the new ER doctor back in her hometown where no one remembers her. But Zack and Annie have a past, a one night past, that haunts them both. Healing old wounds and hearts may not be so easy for this second chance romance.
Eagle is the story of Finn and Charley. Finn is a local golden boy and single dad. Charley is the girl who broke his heart years ago and married another man. Now she's back, single, and the best hope for his son's education. Their chemistry is still smoking' hot, but secrets and deception may ruin their second chance at happiness.
I had a gifted audiobook version for my review. Tom Campbell is a new narrator to me. I just loved his performance. I hope to see many more books from him!
This is the first time I’ve read books by this author and I have to admit It won’t be the last now that I have a taste… Both stories follow fellow brothers in arms from a small town who run their company Linear Tactical and the special women who bring about second chances at love.. CYCLONE: Zac and Anne’s story… both have history going through high school together but when a tragic accident and misunderstanding separates them, but over time they come home but the attraction between them is still strong.. EAGLE: Finn and Charlie’s story…Charlie is back in town but she left years ago breaking Finns heart and marrying another man but now she back with the scars of the past still raw, but Charlie is a survivor and Finn is her shining knight… Both stories carry it own brand of intrigue, suspense and adventure with a little spicy moments that add to the thrill of the books…
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Tom Campbell. I read the stories about 4 years ago, but I enjoyed them more in audio. It adds more dimension to the story.
Cyclone - I'm not usually a big fan of 2nd chance romance stories, so I appreciated that Cyclone was more about the suspense and less about relationship drama. The main characters weren't in a relationship in the past, so it's a little less about second chance.
Eagle - This was more of the traditional chance, but I did really like the suspense portions of the book. I also liked the story better when I listened to it. There was some set up for the next book in the series, Shamrock. I liked the characters and I'm looking forward to listening to more of the Linear Tactical series.
I received a copy of this audiobook at my request, and the opinions here are my own.
Love the suspense, danger and drama! I enjoyed how the author put the action in with the main story. While I loved the romance this had the suspensefulness mixed right in making sure it held my attention. In Cyclone these two have a horrid regretful past to overcome and then learn each other again. In Eagle they also have a past to overcome. I really loved learning all the backgrounds of these characters. It really made them who they are today.
This is a great beginning to a new series. It is filled with wonderful characters! I love meeting the Tatical team. I can not wait for more stories.
I listened to this on audio. Tom Campbell did the narration for both books. He is easy on the ears which makes this a good listen. Between the story, the characters and the narrative this is a keeper! I look forward to more in this series!
This boxed set includes Cyclone & Eagle the two first books in The Linear Tactical Series, a military romantic suspense. Cyclone/Zac and Anne's story is filled with mystery, and suspense. Zac is handsome. His past is heartbreaking. Anne is beautiful, smart, and determined. They are perfect together. The characters are great, and the storyline is filled with misunderstanding, secrets, suspense, and twists and turns. Eagle/Finn and Charlotte's second chance to love is entertaining, and suspenseful. Eagle, a military and single dad, is handsome, and protective. Charlotte is beautiful, caring, and supportive. Their story is well written, and engaging. Great narration from Tom Campbell. Looking forward to more in the series. #HomeCookedBooks
Cyclone (Linear Tactical 1) Cyclone is a friendship to love, flawed characters, suspenseful romance. The first book in the Linear Tactical series by Janie Crouch is off to a promising start. I enjoyed this story, the character dynamics and the overall interaction will definitely have me coming back for book 2.
Eagle (Linear Tactical 2) I just loved this story Finn and Charlie are great characters, the story is compelling and the support cast engaging. Overall, a fabulous romantic suspense and one I would recommend you read.
Two strong and capable men. Brother in arms. Linear tactical is their life. Zac and Anne had history but now they are working together in order to catch a dangerous men who has targeted Anne as a prey. Finn’s priority is his son, even if he has to work with Charlotte, the woman that shattered his life. Strong heros, lot of action and emotions and better as audiobooks. Tom Campbell does a great job with all the characters
It is a two in one book where we can meet the guys of Linear Tactical. Both story are real romantic suspense with everything needed in it. With every page I got more invested in the Linear Tactical family, the boys are alpha protectors who does everything for the ones they love but there is no damsel in distress, just strong girls who can keep up with them.
This is my first read from this author and i am hooked!! This is an amazing series, I love the plots, characters and storylines!! I am definitely reading the entire series!!
Action & Romance with Second Chance Love!💥❤️🔥💘 Cyclone & Eagle: Linear Tactical Series
I enjoyed the narrator. He needs some work on female voices, though.😉 He brought a good amount of tension, angst, and flirtation to the audiobook.👍
Both storylines kept my interest. Ex Military falling back in love with past entanglements. Of course the ladies come into danger. They do all they can to save themselves and their men help along the way.
