The book is a historical account of India’s Armed Freedom Movement. The book documents major events carried against the British Empire starting from 1900 through 1947 by the members of Armed Struggle. The book further documents and gives an alternative view of how Indian Armed Struggle freed India from the clutches of British rule as opposed to the common view that India’s freedom was achieved mainly through the Non-Violence Struggle.

"Death is knocking at my door. My mind is flying away towards eternity. At such a pleasant, at such a grave, at such a solemn moment, what shall I leave behind you? Only one thing, that is my dream, a golden dream the dream of free India."
-from the Last letter of Surya Sen,
Such emotional, uprising, goosebump causing final words right ? Something that should have been written or at least scribbled in the pages of our freedom fight ! But ironically we are unaware of many such to be celebrated martyrs who didn't even make it to the pages of history.
Try to see if any of the names ring any bells.
1)Vinayak D Savarkar 2)Aurobindo Ghose 3)Madam Cama 4)Rash Behari Bose 5)Sachindra Nath Sanal Sanyal 6)Chandra Sekra Azad 7)Bhagat Singh 8)Subhash Chandra bose
May be few has an "ah I know them" effect but the rest were point blank from our memory and so from our history too and many died as early as 18 years old,For what? To be forgotten? and their sacrifice gone in vain? May be!
How we were only taught that our freedom was won through Nonviolence!!
But the reason cited by the British Prime Minister Clement Atlee in an interview for the reason to leave India , "is erosion of loyalty to the British crown among the Indian army and Navy personnel as a result of the military activities of Netaji" and the extent of Gandhi's influence upon the British decision to quit India, was met with a sarcastic smile and answered "minimal" !!!
Our history failed to celebrate many others who sowed the seed for freedom through their rebellious acts and those who wrote history conveniently forgot them too.
This book is a wonderful eye opener for me to get to know the unsung heroes behind our Indian Independence and is totally unputdownable read, that I finished reading it in a single sitting. Taking Few minutes to respect all those souls who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the freedom, which they didn't even get to witness but was hopeful that we get to rejoice it someday.
Supporting the evidences of the book is many newspaper clippings from the pre independent era and Government file references taken by the author with the intent to give justice to the sacrifices made by the members of Armed Struggle and I respect it immensely!
“Armed Struggle: The Alternative History of Indian Freedom Struggle” by Aman Choudhary sheds light on the more obscure details of the struggle for Indian independence from the British Rule. Whenever we think about the fight for Independence, we immediately think about Mahatma Gandhi, the non-violence movement, or Bhagat Singh and his fellow martyrs. But there are many lesser-known details about the Freedom struggle. The biggest hole in my knowledge about the freedom movement is the chronological order of several events. And I am not simply stating about infamous events.
As I delved further into the book, my lack of facts about my country’s history became apparent to me. That made me read the book in a heated frenzy trying to take in as much information as I could. The best point about the book is that the author has included an even summary of each of the 5 periods that the book has been divided into. The author must have done tremendous research to even pen down 1 % of the book. From V. Savarkar and Sri Aurobindo to Surya Sen of the Bengal Volunteers, there is a flow of lucid and irrefutable de facto that explains in detail the actual rundown of the events. The fact that the author has not tarnished the events by inserting philosophical analysis is a huge plus for me. Thus the readers can get the naked truth of this part of Indian History and draw their own inference.
The main purpose of writing the book is to highlight the fact that India did not win independence because people were shouting slogans in non-violence, but there was a bigger struggle, an armed struggle that was going on behind the scenes. What has been portrayed in our commonplace history books are only what has been posed as the crème de la crème of the Independence struggle. There is a huge chunk of history that has been omitted from the textbooks. Indian independence was never gained on the strength of a one-man struggle. Rather it was the consolidated efforts and sacrifices of several. The extensive planning that went behind the curtains had been obscure to me until now. Recommended to every Indian and not just the readers. Use this book to broaden your knowledge beyond your textbooks. My rating is 5 stars.
The armed struggle by Aman Choudhary is a book dedicated to Armed revolutionary movements occurred in India between 1900 to 1947 which were the main reasons behind the freedom of India. These movements weren't random acts of bravery but well organised and well-planned actions which were not only limited to India but spanned over the various continent for many decades. The book is divided into 5 parts according to the significance of the events that happened during this period and every part is summarised properly at its end. The author has done a good amount of research in finding facts and putting them in the book along with the images related to them. This book was very informative and it helped me to understand the Indian freedom struggle in a better way. The writing style of the book is simple but doesn't raise any interest or enthusiasm in the reader. It could have been more intriguing if it was written in a more engaging way. Also, I felt that the book touches only the surface facts and doesn't give in-depth knowledge. Overall it's a good book which had done a good job in documenting forgotten events related to forgotten heroes of our nation and proving that the armed struggles were very well integrated efforts of different revolutionary groups.
Armed struggle by Aman choudhary talks about how even armed struggle helped in India's independence and explains the roles of the forgotten heroes like Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad, Veer Savarkar, Aurobindo Ghosh etc.
The cover of the book is simple yet eye-catching and the title matches the story perfectly.
The narration is smooth and lucid. The language is also easy to understand.
The book is divided into 5 parts which are - 1. The Ignition 2. The Ghadar movement 3. The reignition 4 4. Sayonara 5. Aftermath
These 5 parts starts with introduction and are further divided into more sub parts.
The book is formatted in a very systematic way which I really liked.
This book includes a lot of pictures, map and at the end of each chapter there is summary which really helps in understanding everything and does not make the story boring.
Would definitely recommend this book to every history lovers / anyone who is interested in Indian history.
This book is useful to learn the broad sweep of armed revolutionary movements for Bharat's independence spread across geographies and decades, as well as the links between the revolutionaries leading these movements. It's also useful to disabuse the reader of the notion that the non-violent Gandhian movement was responsible for the British leaving. However, the book is replete with grammatical errors and typos (e.g. dates), and the figures were amateurish. The book is a missed opportunity and hence no higher than 3/5.
It's a book about armed struggle and situated in pre independence era. It gives a brief about various freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to free our country. This is also a book about the Jallianwala Bagh incident and how it led to the INA by Subhash Chandra Bose. Very informative book. Well narrated. Written in simple english and easily understandable. A must read for everyone!!
*Recieved as a review copy* . ▫️Most of the younger generations are not much of a history buff when it comes down to do our own research about certain historical events. Growing up most of us formed our opinions and concepts about Indian's Freedom Struggle based on only school textbooks. The problem with these history text books were that they did not cover all the angles of Indian Freedom Struggle. And it is such a vast subject. ▫️The non-violent movement led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi Ji is discussed widely most of the times and most of the emphasis is given to only this side of history. The Revolutionary movement or the Armed Struggle is often portrayed as very random and scattered and how it has played very little or no major role to help India achieve her freedom. ▫️This book on the other hand breaks all these myths and stereotypes and shows how we often forget to acknowledge the fact that the Armed Violent Freedom was not only limited in India but it spanned several Continents over several Decades. It presents how the movement was well organized and played a major role in helping India achieve her freedom with facts and figures.
▫️The book covers the events from 1900 to 1947 and is divided into five parts: 🔸Part 1 – The Ignition (1900 to 1915) 🔸Part 2 – The Ghadar Movement (1913 to 1920) 🔸Part 3 – The Re-Ignition (1920 to 1932) 🔸Part 4 – Sayonara (1932 to 1946) 🔸Part 5 – The Aftermath Post 1946 ▫️ It's systematically arranged and each of these chapters cover major historical events It talks about leaders like Veer Savarkar, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh and Aurobindo Ghosh and how they have played a very integral part. At the end of each chapter flow charts, newspaper cuttings and bibliography are provided which enriches your reading experience more.

“Armed Struggle: The Alternative History of Indian Freedom Struggle” Written by Aman Choudhary tells the other unknown side of the struggle.
The book has documented important events by members of the Armed Struggle against the British Empire from 1900 to 1947 and is split up into five parts: ☘ Part 1 – The Ignition (1900 to 1915) ☘ Part 2 – The Ghadar Movement (1913 to 1920) ☘ Part 3 – The Re-Ignition (1920 to 1932) ☘ Part 4 – Sayonara (1932 to 1946) ☘ Part 5 – The Aftermath Post 1946
One reason why the British were reluctant to leave India was that they feared India would erupt into a civil war between Muslims and Hindus. Britain hoped that a self-governing India would remain part of the imperial defense. Britishers were forced to leave India. Many people will say that Gandhiji's mass movements triggered it, some will say world war 2 triggered it but the actual reason was something else.
Well, Gandhiji's movements brought people together and that was needed to unite everyone for forming a free nation. But the movements didn't force Britishers to leave India. As I thought, it was because of Nethaji. Most Indian textbooks about depicts freedom struggle are dominated by Gandhiji's non-violent movements but very little is mentioned about Nethaji's and INA's contribution.
This book is a courteous wile by the author, Aman Choudhary. The language is lucid. The cover is in beautiful red color indicating the struggle and blood otherwise. The title is well inclined to the subject. The photos added more strength to the content. I must appreciate the author for not only bringing out the unknown facts of our history but also giving an account of the Indian Armed Struggle. This is a must-read book. And I recommend everyone to read this book. My hearty wishes to the author. And it's heartwarming to know that all author earnings towards the sale of this book will be donated to charity. I read this on kindle, but I'm gonna get a paperback now. Huge respect for him! Great research! Astonished work!

What do you guys think what is the reason behind British left India? 1. Non-violence movement 2. Revolutionary movement. You will have an answer in hand at, end of the book.
What we were doing when we were at the age of 18? Enjoying life with father money, flirting and parties with friends, etc. Here we have a great hero of our country who sacrificed their life at age of 18 for the motherland and who are the real reason for the freedom of India. And it is a misfortune that we don't remember their names and even we don't find their name in our history textbook.” ARMED STRUGGLE” by Aman Choudhary is a collection of true incidents with evidence. The book is full of Goosebumps events. The author tried to uplift our forgotten hero’s name where we have don’t have their name anywhere in our history book or very minimal. Every story is well explained in such a way that I can imagine every scene.
It introduces the character and points out their plan and struggle to make India free from the British. It has a picture of freedom fighters in their memorandum. These are the stories to tell everyone. You will meet the all legendary freedom fighters in the book. For the salvation of the homeland, millions of patriots sacrifice their family, charity, and fight for freedom, regardless of their lives. We are living a comfortable life with their sacrifice. But in the country, there has been a lot of talk about libertarians, mocking and criticizing some freedom fighters. The author tried to make clear revolutionary actions and try to remember their scarifies. I bow from my bottom of heart to all freedom fighters.
I appreciate the author's research and work on book and collection of evidence and photo.
Thank you author for making us remember our heros.

Book Armed Struggle : The Alternative History of Indian Freedom Struggle Author: Aman Choudhary Genre: International & World Politics Format: Kindle Pages: 254 Rating: 5/5
This is a covering which covers India’s Freedom struggle in detail. My Perspective about India’s freedom struggle changed upside down after reading this book. I have come to know about many such Great Personalities who made a huge contribution in this struggle. I have learned more about the freedom fighters I already knew. I donot know why our history books in school did not cover these great freedom fighters. All Since our childhood, we were given a false impression that it was only Gandhi’s peace movement that led to India’s freedom. My joy had no bounderies when I read about Subhash Chandra Bose. It is said that if British Government feared someone a lot it was Bose. It was such a proud moment for me. There were also insights about why some places are named as they are today. Language is really easy to understand. Various Pictures are given related to content. The writing style of the author is so good that one would like to read it for hours. The way systematically book is drafted is really appreciated. There are world maps, summaries , time sheet ,references of other books and sites. Seems like Author has really put in lot of efforts to gather the information.
The book is one of its kind. Cover page is so beautiful. The way author has designed the title of book , it does justice to the content of the book. The Reader prime facia reading the title questions himself ‘ Was our freedom really unarmed?’
If you have always wondered what India’s freedom struggle was like, this book will give you the actual insights. Must Read.
I am someone who loves to read History and was once among the top scorer in this subject in school. And I love to read books which enhance my knowledge in this field.
~BOOK REVIEW~
Armed Struggle is a book which deals with the Independence of India, but with a twist. The unsung tales and heroes are all talked about in this book and I am really obliged to have got a chance to read it, all thanks to @earnest.aspirant
I was very closely able to relate myself to this book because I have read a few things about Vinayak D. Savarkar, the hero who has been unknown to half of the world. The book @armedstruggle.in has dealt with a lot of facts about him. I do not want to disclose a lot of facts told in the book here, but anyone who has an interest in History or wants to prepare for an exam can go for this. The book has chapters: 1. The Ignition 2. The Ghadhar Movement 3. The Re-Ignition 4. Sayonara 5. Aftermath
They are all divided in sub-parts and a lot of maps, pictures, and details of different movements like the Kakori Train Robbery, which happens to be a place in Uttar Pradesh state in India, near my home. Also, I have visited Port Blair where we have the Jail Museum. So overall it was a great experience reading this book. And I forgot to mention that the author @aman.author has mentioned the references from where one can add to his or her knowledge.
If you notice i have been reading a lot lately, and i am actually so glad to get back into what in doing what i love. A lot of you have not seen a side of me, but to let you know i am a book addict. There was time where i used to hide from my mom and read books, i could finish a book in 2-3 hours, i had books stacked at my bed table and i could finish them all in a day, but all these years i have only read books that were of my interested genre.
Today for the first time i have taken a step to read a book a genre that i am absolutely disinterested in. HISTORY!
#ArmedStruggle is a novel written by author Aman Choudhary. A lot of important incidents and events from the british times has been wonderfully expressed in this book. It is divided into five parts starting right from 1900!
To let you all also know, this book is has real events of history and its is not fictional. Our unsung heros of nation are thrown light on their role of supporting and standing for the country.
I was very surprised while i was reading this book. Initially i didnt have my interest to be honest because i was giving my first shot but a few pages later i was glued. Every character, every event, the whole story could be visualised as you read it.
It felt really great to know more about my country, and gain knowledge of all these historic experiences. It is their struggle that has got us peaceful days today.
Whether you are interested in the history genre or not, i would surely suggest you all to give a read to this book! :")
Indian history has always been a matter of interest for me and when it comes to our freedom struggle it creates a new spirit in us. Most of us have read about it in our text books where the main emphasis is on the nom violence movements of our father of the nation and normally avoids the struggle that led to loss of lives of our beloved freedom fighters. But this book by Aman Choudhary gives a more different perspective of the Indian freedom struggle. Story about Veer Sawarkar and other freedom fighters like Shaheed Bhagat singh and their contribution in getting India free from British empire is interesting. The book covers the events from 1900 to 1947 and is divided into five parts: 🔸Part 1 – The Ignition (1900 to 1915) 🔸Part 2 – The Ghadar Movement (1913 to 1920) 🔸Part 3 – The Re-Ignition (1920 to 1932) 🔸Part 4 – Sayonara (1932 to 1946) 🔸Part 5 – The Aftermath Post 1946
Each period is supported with images, flowcharts and newspaper cuttings to elaborate on the things. After reading this book you will get to know the importance of the other things that remain hidden and never told in the text books to us. Our view gets formed by the things told to us so read the book with an open mind. Language used by the author is simple and lucid. Cover of the book is good. The chapters are interesting that urges a reader to finish it and keeps motivated. Getting to know more about the unheard history is always a great motivation so go ahead and get a copy of it.
If not, lets get into a roller coaster ride about India's freedom and its struggle to get this freedom with this book. It's very easy to read about India's struggle, the events and people who have contributed to give India, the freedom it deserves but this book is a one place to read and learn everything about India's freedom.
Many of us are not aware about so many things and you will get a lot more knowledge here in this book like I was not aware about how California played a major role in Indian Freedom Struggle and this book covered that too.
Whenever topic of freedom comes up, we always recall our political leaders who played an important role in India's freedom. This story talks about S. Bose, Savarkar, Mahatma Gandhi and many others. We will get to know about these Heroes and what role they played in this armed struggle and their contribution towards our freedom today. This book will take you back in time starting from 1900 to 1947.
There is nothing I disliked about this book. From the research to the content, everything is appreciable, its not at all easy to mention things which happened when we were not born. The author mentioned everything in a sequence which i really liked and its really interesting to know about "Our India". One should not miss this book because its about us, our freedom and our struggle. Once you finish reading this book, don't forget to share this with your friends and family.

Armed Struggle: The Alternative History Of Indian Freedom Struggle
by Aman Choudhary
"If you don't know history, then you don't know anything. You are a leaf that doesn't know it is part of a tree."
The book talks about Indian struggle for independence in the most dominant of ways with a perspective on violence, hardwork, ideologies and most importantly history - history of a pride nation with its spellbound indomitable courage and strength.
The narration is creatively enhancing given the fact that a fact based theory of things is hard to research and then preserve as a book. It is a page turner even if it's the past that lurks around future if not taken care of.
The quality of triggers coats this book with a glaze of soothe and calm. The text, while reading, makes you visualize the interplay of events unfolding before your eyes. You see it all: war clouds, calamity, liberation, enlightenment and realities of life.
This is a kind of book every serious reader should pick up. It was an exciting journey reading this, and who doesn’t love insightful stories of patriotism. Much more important than reading the book, are the values that you carry with you henceforth. These are ordinary tales of extraordinary acts of bravery, wisdom and loss which definitely deserves a read.
One such book due to which I felt so glad to read during the last days of 2020. This the book that raised a voice against the unheard and suppressed motion of our great unsung, forgotten freedom fighters' efforts, hardships.
Knowing the hard quoted facts of almost 100 years back and the struggle for freedom in different modes and various operands is a nostalgic and goosebumps experience.
There were many issues, unknown facts, and buried truth is unveiled such as the hardcore fact about the brother of Swami Vivekananda, About the famous Indian Curry in Japan Tokyo, and a lot more. The pictographic representation of every event and the things used by our freedom fighters such as a photo of Pistol used by Bhagat Singh gives a nostalgic and thrilling experience. Who is first Free India’s first Prime Minister on Indian Soil? S. Bose Disappearance and Plane Crash Theory and for many more, this book gave a clear picture so that one can reassure about the facts hidden from us.
This book restores the legacy of the Armed Struggle and its members. And also brings up a change in your understanding levels among the freedom struggle and its allies.
The best book I read in 2021 and a great start, to begin with, this year. Thankful to the Author for presenting such a great cherishable manuscript.
💫The Armed Struggle, written by Aman Choudhary, is a book about the armed nationalist movements that took place in India between 1900 and1947, and which were the key reasons for India's independence. These movements were not spontaneous acts of courage, but well-organized and well-planned actions that spanned not only India but many continents for decades.
💫The book is divided into five sections based on the importance of the events that occurred during this time period, and each section is properly summarised at the end. The author has done a lot of research to find evidence and include them in the book, along with photographs that go along with them. This book was highly insightful, and it helped me gain a deeper understanding of the Indian freedom struggle. The book's writing style is straightforward, but it fails to pique the reader's curiosity or excitement. If it had been written in a more entertaining manner, it would have been more intriguing.
💫In addition, I felt that the book just touched on the surface details and did not include in-depth information. Overall, it's a good book that does a good job of recording forgotten incidents involving forgotten heroes of our country and demonstrating that armed protests were well-coordinated attempts by various revolutionary organisations.
🇮🇳Aman Choudhary “Armed struggle” addressed the role of the forgotten heroes, such as the Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, the Chandrasekhar Azad, Veer Savarkar, Aurobindo Ghosh, and many more in the Indian liberation of the armed strugger.
🇮🇳The book is divided into 5 parts which are - 🔸Part 1 – The Ignition (1900 to 1915) 🔸Part 2 – The Ghadar Movement (1913 to 1920) 🔸Part 3 – The Re-Ignition (1920 to 1932) 🔸Part 4 – Sayonara (1932 to 1946) 🔸Part 5 – The Aftermath Post 1946
🇮🇳The photographs, flowchart and newspaper text to expand on the subjects are provided in each period. You will understand the value of other things after reading this work, which remain secret and never explained to us in the text books. The words we are taught form our opinion, so you read the book with an open mind.
🇮🇳The poet, Aman Choudhary, is kind to this novel. The voice is obvious. The cover is stunning crimson, which otherwise reveals the fight and gore. The heading is inclined towards the subject. The pictures gave the material more power. I would appreciate that the author does not only address the unknown facts of our history, but also the Indian Armed Struggle. It's a novel that needs to be read. And I propose that everyone read this novel.
History has always been what we have read in our history books and which is boring for most people.
What if I tell you there is an amazing, interesting book which is very unlike our history text books in school.
I found it so knowledgeable to read this interesting book and the different stories or sides of history. There is so much more to history than what we have learnt as children.
This book is divided into 5 parts 1) The ignition ( 1900- 1915) 2) The Ghadar Movement (1913 -1920) 3) The re ignition (1920 - 1932) 4) Sayonara ( 1932- 1946) 5) Aftermath ( Post 1946)
Every part is again divided into sub categories and explained in detailed.
Our forgotten heroes like Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad etc have been remembered.
This book shows the other side of the freedom movement which wants non violent. Did only non violence give us independence, definitely not. Do you know the stories, I don't think so. So do read this book and be thankful for their struggle to again us independence.
Every chapter ends with a summary and aslo visual maps or representations.
Independence and freedom we have been listening and reading about this since our childhood to our text books. However, we often came across such intricacies of the freedom fighters which have been explained in this book. The references took into book has been credited. Being an Indian my heart always fill with pride whenever I read about the struggles, sacrifices which are fighters had did to ensure the independent land for us. But I felt the freedom fighters mentioned everywhere are some times repeated thus the premise doesn't left for others. Late. Mr. Savarkar has played such an important role in our independence revolution I came to know after reading this book. I loved the way author took his heart out from writing to reference of previous years. I thoroughly liked alot this book and I would highly recommend this book to everyone. The origin of our indian flag has been beautifully portrayed along wth the image. The language kept simple to convey the actual essence of book which I really appreciate. Must read for everyone if you want to dive down and actually encounter the independence anecdotes.

The book is an account of the pre-independence era where various freedom fighters sacrificed their normal lives to attain freedom for their motherland. Though our education system gives credit to the Ahimsa (nonviolence) movement, led by Mahatma Gandhi, primarily for our independence, we are all aware of the revolutionary freedom fighters like Subash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Khudiram Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad and their movements to free India from British rule.
The author's aim for writing the book is
1. To document the forgotten heroes and events with associated empirical evidence
2. To demonstrate that the armed struggle was a very well-integrated effort by different groups/personalities which had strong links with each other.
This book is about the forgotten link to the Jallianwala Bagh incident and how it led to the INA by Subhash Chandra Bose. A must read for all of us to know about this unknown link in Indian history.I can't recommend this book enough. Loved loved loved it.
A treasure for all history lovers out there. The book talks about the occurrence of a very strong Armed Violent Freedom Movement in India for independence and the people behind it. The book documents major events carried against the British Empire starting from 1900 through 1947 by the members of the Armed Struggle.
The book further documents and gives an alternative view of how the Indian Armed Struggle freed India from the clutches of British rule as opposed to the common view that India’s freedom was achieved mainly through the Non-Violence Struggle.
The book talks about freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad and Veer Savarkar and the major role they played in independence. For ease of understanding the book is divided into five parts. The author has done a good amount of research in finding facts and putting them in the book along with the images related to them. The book is very well written and is surely one of the most intriguing materials that can be found on this topic. It is a must-read for all people fascinated by history.
