K. L. Brady is a D.C. native but spent a number of her formative years in the Ohio Valley. She’s an alumnus of the University of the District of Columbia and University of Maryland University College, earning a B.A. in Economics and M.B.A., respectively. A lifelong Washington football fan, she's a professed nerd-girl who loves all things Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Big Bang Theory. She's a member of Romance Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, the Maryland Writers Association, and Sisters in Crime and lives to write novels, especially those involving hilarious quirky characters looking for love. She is hard at work on her next several projects including the sequels to HER PERFECT CATCH (part of the Valentine's Pets and Kisses box set) because girls love football, too!
A fast moving story of love beginning in the past and embers were never extinguished just waiting for the right fuel to ignite. All of her books flow well and, Will entertain your mind. Enjoy. A great read.
Really good marketing to sell the other books, but not very good at being a "collection" of Christmas novels. The stories to me didn't give closure and I was hoping for more. Very disappointing.
Plot: 1. A Christmas in the Cards by K.L. Brady - this was my favorite of the collection. The banter between the two main characters (Mia and Nixon) was adorable. They met at a mutual friends' holiday party, where they were the singletons. This is a play on the enemies-to-lovers trope, and the one from the collection that I'd like to read the whole story.
2. Coconutty Christmas by Ann Omasta - cute, but in this novella it was difficult to tell if she (Kalea) was going to end up with the nerdy tourist, or if there was something going on with one of the two friends. There was nobody else's POV, and it was a very short story.
Bad Girl under the Mistletoe by Carmen Falcone - Lucy is visiting to help her aunt in her recovery (from something?), and Derek is the local veterinarian. They had a one-night thing (before the start of the story) and he decides to go cold-shoulder so that he isn't hurt later when she goes back home. Hilarity ensues. Lol, not really. It's not funny. In fact, it's a little annoying - the first misunderstanding was him being a scared jerk (which, understandable, aren't we all?), and the second misunderstanding was her being a little too quick to judge? Expect an answer? I'm not sure, but it all worked out in the end.
A Secret for Christmas by Michele De Winton - Gabby and Nicolas have a history (and as becomes apparent, a kid). He hates her because he thinks she did something that she didn't, and she left to get away from all the people mad at her because of this thing she didn't do. I feel like I needed to have already read a book or two to understand what was going on here. They worked it out though. I think this would probably be a pretty good full book.
Scottish New Year by Victoria Pinder (did not read)
Character development: varied
Part of a series: no
Grammar/formatting: no major issues
Would I read more from this author/in this series:
This was a collection of several Christmas stories/ Like most collections, this was average (you like some, you don't like others). It was a quick read, confusing at times, but a relatively pleasant way to pass the time.
May be a short story, but it's long enough to have everything a sexy love story needs. We have a great little town, filled with warmth; enough to want to live away from the rat race of a big city like New York. A family member to live with and care for, and oh, one more thing, a sexy veterinarian. Moving here is looking better by the second, but why is the sexy Dr. ghosting her after a glorious sexy night. She thought there was something amazing there, but his attitude beats something else. Take a seat, read it and find out if it's meant to be.
