About the author

Hi, I'm Paul Teague (writing as Paul J. Teague), the author of the Don't Tell Meg trilogy, the Morecambe Bay series of books as well as several other standalone psychological thrillers such as Dead of Night, So Many Lies and Now You See Her.

I'm a former broadcaster and journalist with the BBC, but I have also worked as a primary school teacher, a disc jockey, a shopkeeper, a waiter and a sales rep.

I've read thrillers all my life, starting with Enid Blyton's Famous Five series, then graduating to James Hadley Chase, Harlan Coben, Linwood Barclay and Mark Edwards.

If you love those authors then you’ll like my thrillers too.

I started off writing thrillers with the Don’t Tell Meg Trilogy which draws upon my 18 year career in radio journalism.

It’s fast-moving, high action and a bit racy in places, but it was great fun writing the story and I hope to re-visit the characters one day.

My standalones are ‘can’t-put-down’ stories where normal people find themselves in extradordinary situations.

I also write sci-fi and dystopian novels as Paul Teague and these stories are set in dark and sinister future-worlds.

I have written The Secret Bunker Trilogy, The Grid Trilogy and the stanadlone story, Phase 6.

The mystery continues, Charlotte is still on the case and now it is personal!!!

DCI Kate Summers has made many mistakes but losing her brother was the worst. Now she is on the run and fighting for her career and family. The only person that is still behind her and fighting for her innocence, is her friend Charlotte, Kate had once saved her life. Charlotte is doing this even at the cost of her own life.

As Charlotte continues to search for the truth, she falls into a trap and nearly loses her life. Now she needs to protect her family. She sends her children to the safety of a friend. Hopefully, that will be enough.

Notice to all: This ends in a CLIFFHANGER, but it will all be finished in part three of this second trilogy.

What did I like? This just keeps getting more involved and the mystery goes even deeper. The excitement is thrilling and has all of my attention. I love the characters, both Kate and Charlotte are amazing. Both strong women that just don’t give up. Kate has been fighting for twenty years and now her friend Charlotte is standing beside her. The interesting thing is that no matter what happens to her, it just makes Charlotte dig deeper, trying to fit all the parts of the puzzle together. This is an amazing read that I can’t wait for the final curtain.

What will you like? Dang, look out the action and mystery goes even deeper! The two main characters are fighting for their lives and the protection of their respective families. The intrigue has kicked up more and Charlotte is trusting her own instincts more. I love the descriptions and details that Paul has used in this series. They pick you up and take you right along with the action, you can feel the wind on your face and hear the angry sounds of the surf. The research is amazing, keeping you fully aware of each step of the battle to find the answers to the mysteries of the past while using the technology of the future. A great read that has surely captured me and will find you too! An excellent read to add to your Library.

This book picks right up where book one left off, and it is a heart pounder, to say the least. A well-written thriller that keeps you swiping the pages of your Kindle so you can try and find out, what could possibly happen next. Characters are intertwined by seemingly unrelated events from the past that start in 1999 and extend the danger and intrigue to current day. The book goes back and forth from the past to now with action and intrigue that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The biggest question here is who is trustworthy? Charlotte, a reporter, is caught up in a seemingly forgotten mystery which is clearly not forgotten by the dangerous and corrupt characters who clearly want Charlotte to give up everything she's learned up until now. Putting her family in danger never crossed her mind as she deepens her attachment and her alliance with a police inspector that has been forced into hiding; this seems to have EVERYTHING to do with the super awful people hot on her trail. Characters you both love to love and love to hate draw you into this riveting tale of lies, deceit, and of course, the root of all evil, money! Easy to read, best enjoyed in order, I am looking forward to the third book to tie up everything and put closure to all the questions yet to be answered. I received a BETA copy of this book and am leaving my evaluation freely. All opinions expressed here are solely mine! If you haven't read the first book, get it now, if you have, pick up this one now. You won't regret it!

Mr. Teague has written a very intriguing tale with strong, deeply developed characters and well researched locale details that pulled me in and made me feel like I walked the streets with the characters.  Charlotte and Kate have developed a close bond and trust each other with their lives, which are being threatened by violent criminals.  Kate must remain in hiding to keep her freedom, and relies on Charlotte, who is learning to trust her unrealized strengths to uncover the full background behind Kate’s youthful mistake and clear her name.  The story contains a seemingly endless stream of twists and turns that should make her give up – can Charlotte persevere and overcome these relentless set-backs?  I thoroughly enjoyed this lead-up to the coming finale in the next book of this trilogy.  I am on the writer’s BETA/ARC team and was given a copy of this book – this review is my honest opinion.  I am looking forward to reading more of Mr. Teague’s writing.

Another brilliant book!
The Morecambe Bay trilogy continues.
So many intertwining elements that keep you hooked on this book, which is full of suspense and shout out loud moments.
Lots of actions from the past need covering up by some corrupt and dangerous people. Will Charlotte ever learn? She takes too many risks and someone always ends up in danger, usually a family member or Charlotte herself!
I like the chapters going from the past to present day, it lets the background story unfold naturally, without giving too much away too soon.
I'm completely hooked on this series and can't wait for the next book! I highly recommend both of the Morecambe Bay trilogies, read in order.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.  The saga continues.  A 20 year old mystery is now back in the limelight.  Charlotte is in the thick of it.  DCI Kate Summers is on the run.  Will her past be her downfall or is there more to the story we have to be told?  Charlotte owes Kate her life and it is now time to return the favour.  Can she do it?  I cant wait for the next installment to find out what is next and how it will end.  I highly recommend this trilogy.

This is a really well written british story! Great characters, brilliant setting, good plot! what more could you want! I do strongly recommend this & all of the writers other works!
