Book 1 in The New York Series

Explicit material intended for mature audiences only. Read at your own risk. Trigger warnings posted below. Ends with cliffhanger because this is a serial story.

The New York Series is a continuing serial story as follows:

Monopolize Me (Book 1)
Monopolize You (Book 2)
Monopolize Us (Book 3, release date: November 9, 2022)
(Book 4, release date: 2023)

BDSM: Bondage/Discipline * Dominance/Submission * Sadism/Masochism

Dakota Allison thought he could live out his life as a dairy farmer in rural Kentucky; but his father had other plans. Blackmailed and scared, Dakota finds himself lost in the chaotic whirlwind of Manhattan as next in line to run his father's Wall Street company, crushed with pressure to be someone that he never asked to be... At least until he meets Lirio De Luca.

Lirio De Luca’s sole purpose in life has been making his business succeed. Growing up on the streets of Brooklyn left Lirio with the scars, smarts, and cutthroat mentality required to survive and thrive as a CEO on Wall Street. Naïve to how much they are both putting at risk, Dakota craves to be ever more entangled with his star-crossed lover because finding himself in a forbidden lifestyle with extreme tastes pays out better than staying lost in New York.

Both men flirt with total career suicide if their romantic ties are discovered. Lirio struggles to balance his filthy business ways and an honest relationship with Dakota, all while pushing his company to be the global leader. Between publicly humiliating Dakota during the day and dominating him as his submissive behind closed doors; he might just monopolize Dakota in the process. Dakota has to leave more than just past behind if he ever hopes to please both his father and Lirio. As he grows, Dakota finds purpose in his transformation and learns that kind words and a gentle hand can be as effective as a whip and a ball gag.

Evie Noir is proud to present Monopolize Me: Book 1 in The New York Series. Self-identifying as non-binary and with a decade’s experience in professional BDSM as a sub/Dom and slave/Master in dungeons and in her career as a sex worker, Evie Noir’s work centers on love stories for our modern generation—themes of self-identity, friendship, the erotic forces pulling us, and the sense of nature that grounds us. Inspired by life experiences; they write to explore the barriers (so often self-inflicted) we overcome to make our way to happiness, despite how painful the journey may be.

Slow, but worth it

A billionaire dom meets a subby cowboy and teaches him the ropes of bdsm and corporate NYC life–sign me up.
This book is very much character-driven I'd say. There is a plot at hand but it much favors slower character building moments as we follow the main cowboy Dakota on his journey to becoming CEO of his father's company. It's a fish-out-of-water story so to speak, and it heats up when he meets his billionaire Dom, Lirio De Luca.
I wish I knew that this was a very slow burn from the beginning, as it takes a while for things to get going between these two. But once i made it to the halfway mark of the book, it was well worth the wait.
I love these two so much.
It was very satisfying seeing Dakota learn more about bdsm from Lirio, and heal his sexual trauma that he has from his past "relationship" if you can even call it that. Dakota and Lirio are very easy to root for and I adored all their scenes. There's a cute moment where Lirio has to calm him down from a panic attack over the phone and it reveals just how much Lirio cares about him despite Dakota being his wall street rival. The social media banter was a nice touch as well. The ending was a little abrupt but it is a 4 book series–safe to say, I'm buckled in and I'll be reading the next 3.

Spoiler thoughts:

Lets get this one out of the way–Fuck Grady.
Okay. Moving on, I very much love that these arent perfect characters, specifically Lirio. I was angry at him for doing a tense "play scene" with Dakota and not giving proper aftercare. I get it. You had something planned. But then you shouldnt have done that to him before the concert, Dingus.
I mean, Ginger up the bum? Who knew. I sure didnt. It was a learning moment though so that was nice to see the egotistical Lirio finally turn humble. I was totally expecting Dakota to sign the contract in this book, but I guess we'll see in the next one.

I was also impressed with how much this book taught me about corporate life. Charity for tax cuts, yeah I should've figured. I do feel like some of these learning scenes could have been glossed over–not all, just some, as the slow pacing is the reason it took me a while to finish this book. But it was so worth it.

The first true sexual scene Lirio and Dakota have together is that bj against the dining table. Yeah it was hot. And we almost got a good one at the very end of the book, but it was cut off (mostly) by Lirio not being able to "perform" we can say, because he isnt used to the "vanilla" stuff. It was entertaining seeing his ego shot like that im not gonna lie. And im looking forward to seeing how this affects them in the next book. Dakota is very lovable from the get. And seeing Lirio slowly lose his nerve to him–i have a feeling hes gonna be so down bad for Dakota and that will lead to more vulnerable scenes between the two. I seriously cant wait.

This book's premise was so gud but the implementation was so so so bad that I dont have words to describe how bad it is. There is so much of descriptions, monologues; literally pages and pages of it. I skimmed thro atleast 1/3rd to 1/2 of the book and still felt like I didnt miss anything.

Also, whats up with so much content on other characters? It does get repetitive at times.

TW: Do note there are references on multiple occasions about one of the MCs having sex with his best friend for many years even though the said friend is suffering from internal homophobia. And the other MC kisses someone one else (although the other person does it catching this MC off guard)

I liked it, I'm not one for third person books but this one isn't bad. I think its too much thinking and I find myself skipping through parts just to get to the point of the chapter. Book 1 is like 400 some pages and now just started book 2 and its like 500 some pages so a lot to read through. Good spice, good sub/dom relationship so far. I like it.
