Naughty girls don’t get Christmas wishes. They get Krampus and his switches.

All I wanted was an escape from the unrelenting Christmas cheer. Instead, I ended up in the North Freaking Pole at the mercy of Krampus. He says I’m on the naughty list and the only way back home is to submit to a week of painful, humiliating punishments.

But with each passing day, I find myself wondering more and more - what happens if I don’t want to leave?

Vivian is a sassy romance writer that likes to brat just as much as she writes. As a fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants author, she's usually working furiously into the night when her creative juices hit her the hardest. Her books like to take you to the dark side and force you to dip your toes in, but don't drown you. She loves writing alphaholes, anti-heroes, and heroes you just love to hate. She likes to try out everything she's putting her heroines through, so the phrase “for science” is used in her house a lot! When she's not writing, you can probably find her playing Animal Crossing or tormenting her cats and Husdom.

Title: ➳ ❤- Nice
Series ➳ A Dark Christmas Duet 1#
Author: ➳ Vivian Murdoch
Publication:, December 5, 2020
💖💖💖 💖

ღ A friend of mine recommended this book to me. Lord have mercy I had no idea what I was signing up for when I got this book

I was looking for something sexy for Christmas and I got myself something naughty and dirty… but I got some dark as well

This is a new author for me, so I had no idea what I was going to get! So, of course I walked in with a open mind

This is a great Syfy read & great world builder ! All I’ll say is I never heard of Krampus, so of course I googled it

Krampus, in central European popular legend, a half-goat, half-demon monster that punishes misbehaving children at Christmastime. He is the devilish companion of St. Nicholas. Krampus is believed to have originated in Germany, and his name derives from the German word Krampen, which means “claw

But like any good author they turn a mythical creature into something so different
And just , Maybe Santa isn't the good guy as we were raised to believe? Or maybe he is

Holy smokes can’t wait to get my hands on the conclusion to this Duet on xmas eve with -Naughty: A Dark Christmas Duet 2

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my

----------- Happy Reading -----------

I'm fairly new to this author but since I love "Christmas" stories, I gave this a try. Yes, I realize it's a darker Christmas story but hey, it's good to try something new. In short, I really loved this story and was surprised at how much I loved it. Asmon and Caitlin were so easy to connect with and it was fun to watch their journey together. I didn't like "Kris" at first but as the story progressed, my feelings changed. Ms. Murdoch certainly knows how to capture her readers attention and keep it focused. I literally couldn't put the book down! I'll be eagerly waiting for the next book!!!!

I've discovered that these Krampus stories -- with their endless punishment scenes, and no plot or connection between the characters; their deeply unpleasant H's who only by the magic of fiction don't send their captives to the hospital; their lobotomized sex-doll h's who only by the magic of fiction are turned on by a*holes who don't care if they're cold, hungry, exhausted, unconscious, or terrified; and their ideologically classist storylines where rich, powerful "men" decide that women experiencing real-world problems need to be punished even though they've just committed felony kidnapping and even though they've never walked a mile in their shoes -- are not for me. Between this author and Kessily Lewel, I've had enough.

DNF and YMMV if you're just here for pure erotica.

A/O 12/06: Interesting that many of these 5-star reviews are written by ARCies (they don't identify as such, but how else to explain those reviews released before publication date?) or by fellow authors in this genre (again, they don't self-identify). If you want to read this, go for it, just be aware of the source of many of these accolades.

Loved this book, and can’t wait for part 2!

Even though this is part of a duet, the cliff isn’t steep on this one. You do get a HEA and there are just enough questions left that make you crave part 2.

This is one steamy book! It is well written and you definitely get to know the characters very well. There is the right amount of detailing throughout the book without going over the top. Beware, the bad guy isn’t always who you think it is, and your heart will break!

I loved the authors use of humor and actually found myself laughing even during intense parts of the story because of it. I don’t typically read books centered around holidays, but am so glad I read this one!

I'm not exactly sure what I read. A modern day spin on Christmas. Asmon and Caitlin are wonderful characters. I found myself wanting to be her. A tale of the darker side of Christmas. Beautifully written with a lot of heat and love. Just beware of the hot cocoa.

Nice by Vivian Murdoch

Vivian Murdoch's 'Nice' is a sackful of wickedly naughty festive fun.

What do you get if you combine a mythological manifestation of punishment with a tragic past, the seediest Santa you've ever met, shapeshifting reindeer and some kind of nefarious plot sabotaging the checked-twice Nice and Naughty list system?

Well, you get this book, obviously. Listing all those things would have been quite an odd thing for me to do otherwise.

Caitlin, a thoroughly nice woman, has ended up on the North Pole Naughty list which results in her being kidnapped by Krampus in order to atone for her sins and provide a convenient vessel for Krampus to slake his beastly urges.

Luckily, it turns out that she's quite the kinky little thing, so while she might not deserve the whippings and torments meted out by her otherworldly abductor, she does rather enjoy them.

Krampus himself is something of a tragic hero. Shunned by the other jollier, more festive inhabitants of Christmastown, he leads a rather solitary life in which the highlight of his year is having a sexy young sinner to tie up and punish for a couple of weeks a year.

It's not too much to ask, is it? Sadly, when he discovers that Caitlin shouldn't have even been on his list in the first place, he takes it rather badly. Trying to set things right unleashes a whole sleigh-load of weird underhanded magic shenanigans that neither of our heroes were prepared for. Although it does give Caitlin and Krampus the opportunity to discover their true feelings for one another.

Annoyingly, this book finishes on a cliff-hanger, which means the reader doesn't discover who's dicking around with the list system by the end of the book. (My money's on Rudolph, the shapeshifting weredeer.) We don't have long to wait though. The second part of this festive two-parter, 'Naughty' will hit the virtual bookshelves on Christmas Eve.

I enjoyed every part of this book. The thoroughly wicked dungeon punishments were as hot as hell and everything that takes place in Santa's Citadel in North Pole Proper had me gripped and unable to put the book down for a second.

I think Vivian Murdoch needs a fairly hefty disclaimer at the start given that there is no way that Father Christmas is actually a lusty, six-packed fratboy type. Something like "This is a work of fiction and does not reflect real life in Santa's workshop" ought to do it.

Have you ever wondered what happens to adults who make the naughty list? If so, this is the book for you... and you might just want to make it every year.

Vivian Murdoch paints the most wonderful imagery of both Asmon, and the North Pole, and the sadness that surrounds Asmon's existence - though his passion, and desire, is very real. One can almost taste it. We're drawn in immediately to his world, and the heart-wrenching ostracism, and loneliness he endures on every level. The North Pole isn't as warm, and cheery, as we think... and Santa, well... you can find out whether he's naughty or nice... Beware the hot chocolate...

Make sure you also have a change of underwear, or perhaps a partner nearby, as the eroticism is superb! It's so well written that the downside to wanting/needing to close your eyes to lose yourself in the writing, is that you can't keep reading... Hmmm, an audiobook release, maybe..?

If you've never delved into the world of Doms and Subs, be prepared, as it's in your face, and incredibly well written... even if you're not into that scene, it's written in such a way as to better understand how the sensuality, desire, and arousal, is evoked. It will certainly stoke curiosity in some, perhaps discomfort for others... enter if you dare...

If I have one criticism, it's a small one, which may or may not be picked up by some, so I won't mention it, but regardless, I loved this book, and eagerly look forward to the next instalment! An absolute page-turner, and one I would have binge-read had I had time. Loved it!

With a new Claus in power, all is not right at the North Pole and Krampus’s beast is vying to get to the surface with just the thought of their next sinner. Caitlin is having a rough day getting fired with the company Christmas party going on around her but even the peppermint vodka isn’t going to save her when Krampus gets her in his clutches. Caitlin’s responsiveness is pushing Krampus to do things he has never done and even through the fear, Caitlin can’t control how hot Krampus’s punishments are making her. Though he knows something feels off, its Caitlin’s confession that triggers the catalyst and sets off a chain of events that will push Krampus to his limits as Caitlin is tricked into the arms of his arch nemesis, Kris Claus. As the sinister perpetrator hides in plain sight, Caitlin’s life is not the only one in danger at the North Pole. As Krampus’s races to find Caitlin before it’s too late, will he get to her in time or is he doomed to lose the only woman whose has captured his heart?

Asmon, the centuries old Krampus finds Caitlin on the naughty list and he knows this is the one he has to punish this year. Poor Caitlyn has just been fired and takes off from the office holiday party downing a whole bottle of peppermint alcohol not exactly giving off the best first impression when she meets dutiful Krampus. Is her remarkable resemblance to a past love he once lost to rival Kris what fuels his desire to keep her? The rivalry seems at the root of this story and maybe I mindlessly read some passages because I'm not sure why. I found myself pretty confused throughout the book. The fine line between intriguing mystery and cryptic vagueness was really thin. Honestly I didnt enjoy that. This was a dark read I didn't fully connect with but I'm still going to read the next book because I'm hoping it will satisfy the curiously this book piqued for me.

Woooooooow!!!!!!

Ok, I would like to say thank you to the person that left a 1 star review!!! You made my day....so thank you!!!!

With that out of the way, this book is an absolute treasure to me!!!!!! It’s as if I could actually feel the pain myself for the doling out of the punishment. It’s.....BDSM....if you couldn’t tell by the back cover!

Oh, and the twist at the end made me sooooo happy the adventure would continue on Christmas Eve of all days! (Rubbing hands with glee)

With no spoilers, I love Krampus(in a book that is). How can you not adore Caitlyn. How could you not actually see NPP? Man, where’s the map!

Vivian Murdoch was the first BDSM writer that I’ve read. I usually only read 3rd POV, but I’m not sure if that would have delivered the full effect of 1st POV. All I can say is Vivian is one of the most talented pen smiths I’ve read.

Huzzah!!!!!!!

Pick this book up. If I could give it 100 stars, I would!

Caitlin ends up on the naughty list and Krampus aka Asmon chooses her as the one he must discipline this year. His "brother" Klaus and he don't exactly see eye to eye, there seems to be a rivalry between the two. There is also the question about how Caitlin got on the naughty list, was there a glitch or sabotage? Asmon's choice of disapline is sexy and seductive although it does hurt a little, Caitlin does seem to take well to it. The other characters in this story are all fantasy, reindeer that shift, a Santa that's not always very nice not to mention so many others that add to the wonders of tradition and skewed beliefs. I enjoyed this first story of the duet and am looking forward to much more with the next book "Naughty"

If you're looking for a quick engrossing read, this is it.
If you're looking for some crazy characters, this is it.
If you're looking for something nice and steamy, this is it.
If you're looking for some SMART and quick writing, this is it.

This book is NICE in all ways. It's the book you didn't know you needed when the snow is past our eyeballs and the kids are screaming.

I sucked this book down from tinsel to toes in an afternoon. I can't tell you honestly what was more fun, the hot book, the quick thinking story or the total perfect and clever use of "colorful" holiday language.

I am so excited for more and I don't know now after reading both books so far who's list I want to be on.... Maybe a lonely reindeer will come keep me company.

This book is steamy! Asmon is "All I Want For Christmas" this year! Very well written, introduction and the development of characters was great. I love the dark, steamy take on Santa, The NorthPole and the Reindeer. HEA, but a cliffhanger that leads you on...wanting for Naughty(Book2). Story might be dark and steamy, but the humor had me laughing at even some of the more intense moments.

Vivian Murdoch always delivers an involuntary blackhole, that sucks you in fast, her characters and writing style keep you locked in place until you can devour her new book in one sitting.

I never read anything like this. This was sooooo entertaining. I loved the characters and the mythology. The punishments, the legend, the Krampus. Is there some rivalry. I thought this book played out nicley not too long not too short but it was packed with action. I absolutly loved Asmon and Caitlin. Why was Catilin on the naughty list? I cannot wait for the next book. This book had it all and was simply wonderful. It is a Christmas classic for me. I loved it.

I'm not sure what I was really expecting from this one, but it exceeded my expectations and I couldn't put it down. It' was different than anything I've read, I'm not usually one for holiday themed stories, and I'm surprised by how much it sucked me in. The story isn't a very long one so it was easy to read in one day. It was more of a gray read than a dark one, in my opinion, but the steam level is high and it was very enjoyable. I loved the characters and the twists really surprised me. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

This review is for the duet but better to post the review on all the book options. Read these as individual books, both are amazing reads.
You have the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’, both of which are deliciously masterful with their tools 😜. In more ways than one. There will be no spoilers here, but if you love Santa/Krampus books then you need to read this. Loved both stories so much, and can’t wait for the next instalment.

"I would blow you for 5 candy canes right now" that sums up Asmon right there. Secy, dangerous, tortured, and yet or so sweet. I binged this book in a day and I am so stoked for the second book! This world is dark and magical and oh so hot, you owe it to yourself to read this novel. You will be caught up and transported before you know it and craving creme brulee!

A Krampus retelling with a twist.

There’s a nice list, and a naughty list.. can you guess which one our Krampus gets to be in charge of?

One lucky lady from the naughty list gets chosen for a week of “punishment” by our Krampus here.
But what happens when someone who is supposed to be on the nice list gets picked instead?

I’m not entirely sure of what I just read because it didn’t hold my attention well enough. The way it was written just didn’t inspire me to care too much about the characters and overall, it simply wasn’t my cup of tea.

Check your triggers. Girl is kidnapped by Krampas and sexually tortured. Non consent isn't high on my list, but something about it being Krampas, who's sole purpose is punishing the naughty, made it ok for me. Fun little Christmasy book. Bonus, Santa is a pompous, spoiled brat! Lol
