Get ready for a fascinating but unnerving journey inside the mind and administration of one of the most controversial presidents in United States history. These satirical stories begin right after Donald Trump’s victory in 2016, when he assembles a volatile team of cabinet members and other advisors, and action continues through the aftermath of Joe Biden’s victory over the president in late 2020. Key contemporary political and personal figures have bylines and offer imaginative takes about what’s happening in the world of Trump. Author George Thomas Clark also employs his signature creative style to suggest how various historical figures, such as Martin Luther King and Joseph Stalin, would have viewed the Trump administration. This unique work transcends traditional political analysis.
George Thomas Clark is the author of Hitler Here, an acclaimed biographical novel, Paint it Blue and They Make Movies, creative stories about artists and actors, Down Goes Trump, a political satire, short story collections The Bold Investor and Anne Frank on Tour and Other Stories, Basketball and Football, and other fusions of fact and fiction.
In addition to writing, Clark follows the news and sports, exercises daily (albeit delicately), collects contemporary art, enjoys independent movies, and travels to places (most recently Madrid, Mexico City, Quito, Guanajuato, and Aguascalientes) where he can socialize in Spanish.
I admire George Thomas Clark for publishing a book like this. Four years in the making and this book doesn't have an ending. If you're watching TV today then you'll understand that the ending may take a while, years maybe. Satire is the norm for this book. Martin Luther King and other historical figures that are long gone express their views on President Trump. Serious, funny, whimsical, are what makes Down Goes Trump a BLUE RIBBON book. When I received this book and asked for an HONEST review I thought that's a no-brainer because that's what I do -- review books.
