Her dream in life is to be a journalist,
but her eagerness for a story sends her straight into danger...

Isabella Wood is always on the lookout for the story that will launch her career. Answering a call for help, she comes to work with her grandmother to run a bed and breakfast over the Christmas season. When things start to go wrong around the inn, Bella is ecstatic with the idea of solving an honest to goodness crime, especially if she gets to do it with the handsome Detective Gordon at her side.

Henry Gordon has been content in his detective job. He helps victims and brings criminals to justice. What more could he ask for? When an over eager journalist with bright blue eyes begins to follow his every footstep, Henry thinks he just might be missing something and welcomes her desire to learn. But keeping the beautiful Bella safe proves to be more difficult than he imagined.

When their situation turns dangerous, Henry wants Bella to back off and let the professionals handle it. but Bella's stubborn desire for recognition means the two begin to butt heads.

Can these two solve the crime without losing their relationship? Or will the danger be enough to break them apart?

Her Christmas Detective is the third installment of The Gingerbread Inn holiday romance series. If you enjoy spunky heroines, strong heroes, and mistletoe kisses, then this series if for you!

While each story can stand alone, I recommend reading them in order for maximum enjoyment and to avoid spoilers:

This was a good conclusion to the end is this series of stand alone books. This was a sweet romance with a little mystery and a tiny bit suspense. Loved the characters. The banter between Henry and Bella was funny. Over all good book.

The love story is cute, though...

This is the least successful story in the series. Bella is a bit too much, the food thefts were solved in the previous story (and it still took too long to get to that point), and the vandal was obvious.

This was a light, fluffy read that was very quick. I was hoping for a bit more Christmas though!

Laura Ann writes such sweet characters in her stories that you just can’t help but love. Her heroines in this series all have their vulnerabilities along with determined and in this book, sassy, personalities. The hero’s have all been rather sweet and very caring, with each couple having great chemistry.
I really enjoyed the character development for this series. This is the last book in the series and this is where all the mysteries are solved. I definitely recommend reading the books in order for this reason and for the gradual nature of how the characters’ relationships develop throughout.

This is a clean and wholesome read which I am happy to recommend. I received an arc of from the author. This in no way influenced my opinion and I am under no obligation to leave this review.

Really?

I am sorry. I hate to write negative reviews, and usually follow the old rule, "if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything." I am not sure why I didn’t just close the book and return it to Kindle Unlimited. I guess I was hoping maybe it might redeem itself? It didn’t.
Besides being totally unrealistic, it was just a hard to read story. Yes, it was clean, though "wholesome" is stretching it. The 2 primary characters are always either picking at each other or making out. They call it friendly banter. That got old real fast. There is no way that her behavior and refusing to follow his legitimate orders as an officer of the law, would fly. And Bella sounds more like a fresh out of high school graduate, NOT a college degree.

I loved Bella’s spunkiness and sometimes foolish determination to jump into the midst of each mystery without thinking. It might not have been the smartest thing for her to do, but it made for a fun and enjoyable story.
It was even better when played against Henry, a handsome detective who is a little bit out of his element with a woman like her, but all in for the time of his life.
The chemistry between the characters was spot on and their antics made me smile.
This was a satisfying ending to the series and all mysteries solved.
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

A fast paced sweet romantic mystery read

Bella, the recently graduated journalist cousin, sees sparks when she meets Hank, a small-town detective, when he comes to her grandmother’s inn to help solve a string of crimes. As the story progresses things start off on the wrong foot, they seem to be late to the party when solving the mysteries of the missing ring and food, and the final mystery could injure more than the body if they can’t figure it out in time. Laura Ann’s Her Christmas Detective is a fast paced sweet romantic mystery read. Now that the three cousins have found love, I wonder where she will take the reader next.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

I was slightly disappointed with this one, to be frank. I found the first book of the trilogy interesting and the second delightful. This final installment wraps up the remaining mystery, but it lacked the same romantic relatability of the others. I was frequently upset with Bella's pushiness and foolish outbursts. Henry's interest in her also seemed to come out of nowhere and was missing a foundation.
Not my favorite, but I'll likely reread the other two.

I did receive a complimentary ARC; all opinions are my own.

This was a cute series, and I enjoyed the first two books but this one was painful. First of all, it was largely just a rehash of the first two books… not a bad thing if it had added dimensions. But this book was just a hop, skip, and jump through the first two and then it ended. And then secondly, after enjoying solid characters in Hope and Emory, in this book we had to contend with Bella, who thinks she is just so irresistibly (read annoyingly) cute, and jumps into trouble both high heels first. Sorry, the readers deserved way better on this one.

In this book, Ms. Ann tells the story of the Gingerbread Inn from Bella & Henry's perspective. Bella is definitely not one to back off in this man's world that she is trying to break into. Henry is just trying to protect her but that won't get her what she wants-recognition as a writer. We finally get to find out who is behind the destruction at the inn. I am sorry to see this series come to an end. Maybe it won't? I received an ARC. This is my unbiased opinion.

Bella is one sassy and feisty young lady and Henry loves it. She tends to put herself in situations that could harm her and Henry doesn't love that. I really liked their banter and they made great partners in trying to solve the mysteries at the Inn. Loved the ending. Sad to see the series end. Maybe a book about Grandma?

A great ending to the series!

What a fun ending to the series! I loved how all three mysteries of the Gingerbread Inn are solved, and all three of our heroines get their happily ever after. It can be read as a standalone novel, but it would be better enjoyed to read each book in order, to get a more well-rounded aspect to the whole story.

I liked this one the least only because so much of the story was redundant since it took place during the same timeframe as the previous two books. There were times Bella bugged me because she just wouldn’t listen to Henry when he was wanting to keep her safe.

I did figure out who was doing all the stuff around the Inn.

Overall these were cute Christmas romance books.

The conclusion of this series is very fun, exciting and satisfactory. Also loved the epilogue, but no spoilers. This is Bella and Henry’s story and she is feisty, a bit much but I still enjoyed the story.

A good clean witty mystery romance; Bella and Hank was a fun couple to watch fall in love. Each book in the series solves part of the mystery. I highly recommend the whole series.

The sweetest story

Bella is a handful! Good thing Henry knows how to handle her. They are very cute together. I hope she writes a great article to get her known.

This was my least favorite of the holiday series. Not a fan of either of the MC’s. Luckily it’s a quick easy read and finishes up the series.

Romance, mystery and a touch of danger. Great story!
Great book. Great series. Isabella or Bella has gone to her grandmother’s inn to help out with her cousins. There Bella, a budding journalist, is met with a series of mysterious occurrences that catch her interest. When a theft happens Henry (Hank) Gordon, a detective, arrives to help out the local sheriff. Slowly the mysteries are solved while Hank and Bella face danger and struggle to figure out if they can have any relationship, even a working one. A great book! It is the third and final in the series and although they would be better read in order as each one builds on the previous, Laura Ann does a fantastic job of giving enough background that it could be read as a standalone. I received an early copy and this is my review.
