Rosetta, an 18-year-old girl, has recently moved to the small town of Winchester in an attempt to hide from her troubled past. Lost and feeling directionless, she struggles with the desire to study while also working to secure her future. Life feels like a rollercoaster for her, full of uncertainty—until she meets a boy who changes everything. He’s a mysterious, attractive weirdo, with deep secrets, who falls madly in love with her. His soft, innocent hazel eyes hide the truth of his nature: he’s not just any boy.
He’s a devil—a true devil by blood. And despite the rules of his “Devil Community,” he breaks every one of them to protect her, even going as far as to marry her—a human girl. But what happens when a well-mannered, sweet girl falls in love with fire? What happens when she uncovers his dark secrets? Will she continue to love him, or will she leave, turning him to dust? Will their love stand the test, or will betrayal tear them apart? Humans and devils have always been enemies.
But what if love breaks through the divide? A love between a devil and a human is unnatural, forbidden even—but what if it becomes real? What if they truly fall for each other, defying every boundary, every clash, and every conflict? "The Cambions Series" is a supernatural adventure, full of passion and danger. Rose, desperate to escape her deadly past, wants to start fresh. But after meeting the mysterious Snow family, dark secrets and chaotic rage lurk around every corner. Rose must stay strong—because if she doesn’t, death may be her only destiny.
SO GOOOOOD!! I finished this book in one sitting last night and I can't tell you enough how I enjoyed and liked everything about it! What a surprisingly great start to a Devils love series. Winchester is the first book in the Cambion series that will take you to a world where Cambion's life forms exist. This is probably my first devils/cambions-related book and I'm really surprised it met my expectation of the book. I really like the world the author was trying to introduced. The story was action-packed, the characters were fun and hilarious and the romance was just right. Maira Imran's writing was really engaging I didn't want to put my Kindle down.
The only thing that sets me off was Drake. Don't get me wrong, I like him and his witty banters but his hot and cold attitude were very annoying sometimes. The bully and confusing side of him would sometimes came out of nowhere it pisses me off. Rosetta seemed to be a strong character so I didn't really had a problem with her. In fact, I like her. Rose and Drake's blooming romance was interesting and sweet, I actually like them together.
Ending was... Very emotional and heartaching but the way she wrapped it up is amazing and not disappointing. She wrote that big book in such a youngest age and it's really appreciating and impressive. Overall, I'm liking where the story is going and I really believe that I'm going to love this series!
Characters and Story: As far as YA goes, this was great. For comparison, the formula was a bit similar to other high school age paranormal dramas, but I liked the protagonist and the hero more than Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, for starters. Second, which I kinda geeked out over, was the Cambions. Even though they *did* remind me of Teen Wolf and Vampire Diaries but they were way cooler. I also loved that the story (that I couldn't put down) was neatly wrapped up by the end of the book. The only questions left to answer is what will happen in the next part? How will their lives change after all of this? I'll be getting the next in series.
She's the best author. Totally love this book. I am currently re-reading this book with my friends and they can't wait for the next one just like me✨👀♥️
