Interesting read, who knows what really happens and if anything mentioned in the book is real and we have no idea or comprehension of the truth

An entertaining read at best, but for people who are really into conspiracy theories, it's not much. It mostly goes into the classic theories about the government controlling us, or covering things up, rather than some more outlandish theories. While some of them are very amusing - The British Royal Family are Aliens is my absolute favourite one out of the bunch - most of these are just surface level conspiracies. If, like me, you love the weirdest conspiracy theories and the ones that make you really question why people thought them up in the first place, this isn't for you. But if you're new to the world of conspiracy, this is a great starting point.

This was extremely poor, no depth or discussion into the various conspiracies and half of them were written in a very condescending way.

Interesting but i would have preferred more information regarding each conspiracy. Some of them hardly had any info about them!

1.5*

Very interesting read however there was a huge lack of information and details on some of the conspiracy theories, I recognise this is more a list and you could look them up but if the font was smaller, the pages better formatted you could add more detail without adding tons of extra pages.

Its great to have a list but you could get a list off google, also some of the conspiracy theories do come across strangely written like the author believed some to me true and others not and that effected how they wrote them down.

overall interesting but too basic in information

Listened to this as an audiobook. I personally didn't enjoy it, but not because of the topics being discussed or the information given but predominantly due to the narrator's voice being so monotone and very boring. I found it hard to continue with this. I think reading this in e-book/paperback would have been far better.

There is only so many conspiracy theories a girl can handle. I thought this would be a lot more interesting than it actually was but really there’s only so many conspiracies that I can name, so an entire book is going to be filled with theories about events I’ve never even heard of about people I don’t know so I did eventually start skipping some theories. It was decent, but I am glad it is over.
My neck was getting sore from the size of my tin foil hat after this one

Is Hitler currently living in a secret Nazi base on the far side of the Moon? Is George Bush responsible for everything from Alien cover-ups, natural disasters, deaths of public figures and countless pandemics across the globe?

As long as you don't take it too seriously, this book can be a fun read. Introducing all different Conspiracy theories that have arisen over the years up to those surrounding the current Covid Pandemic. The book looks simply to introduce the reader to the various theories and mentions the reasons behind them but does not seek to delve too deeply into proving or disproving them either way.

Overall, an enjoyable book as long as you don't take it too seriously.

The tone of the book I thought was at first just being dismissive of conspiracy theories ''some say it was aliens '' etc..
until I got to the Donald Trump piece. The information about the Russian collusion hoax was through the absence of known facts a complete lie.

No Mention of the Steele dossier funded by the DNC , Fusion GPS or the FBI working with the MSM to push out known lies , not to mention how the FISA court was lied to , to gain permission to spy on Trumps associates

This book was a gift from a friend , they wasted their money

I think there were a lot of opportunities to dive deeper into some conspiracies, but the other tried to include as many conspiracy theories as possible into 2-3 page long descriptions of each and it proved to be forgetful very quickly. There could have been a lot more written about bigger conspiracy theories.

This book is utterly poo. Its basically a list of conspiracy theories that are loosely discussed in about as much detail as you'd get down the pub from your mate’s drunken dad. Rubbish.

This was a very interesting book, introducing us to conspiracy theories I have already come across previously, as well as some new ones which was good. Each chapter was on average around 2-3 pages long, and other reviewers have criticised this as being too short, and not providing any real depth. I can totally see their point and a little more depth would have been welcome, however I saw this book more as an introduction to the different theories, with a brief overview.

Some of the theories presented I automatically don't believe, whereas others have definitely piqued my interest and I would be looking into finding out more about them. I found that there were quite a lot of American/political theories in here, but it would be interesting (for me anyway) to see more British ones too. The shorter chapters were definitely a bonus for the theories I was not that interested in.

The standard of writing was a little inconsistent as some chapters were better written than others. Every now and then the tone would change and be a little condescending or biased.

Overall, a good introductory read that I would recommend to anyone wanting to broaden their scope of conspiracies.

The book was interesting, full of fascinating theories about vast things that will make you wonder if they were true. The facts that were provided were brief and lacking in specifics. Theories that were interesting were short, whereas those that were less interesting were long. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone looking for more information, but it is a decent way to gain a sense of the overall theory.

Jamie King guides the reader behind the thinking of some of the world's greatest conspiracy theories. From the very plausible, down to the absolutely ridiculous, theories included are amongst others:

9/11, Area 51, Bruce Lee, Coronavirus, Ebola, Elvis, Flat Earth, the Gunpowder Plot, John F. Kennedy, London 7/7, Man on the Moon, Microchip Implants, Pearl Harbour, Reptilian Elite, SARS, the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid, Swine Flu, Tupac Shakur, Vaccines and Autism and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Enjoyable as a non-conspiracy theorist. I'm not going to deny that governments/government agencies might be corrupt, but some of these theories are so mad that I genuinely worry that these people can cast votes. As for the British Royal family being "shape-shifting reptiles... because no one can be that ugly" is just mean.

2.5/5 Decent I guess but I low-key dnfed it for like 3 months so I forgot most of it and as I'm writing this I feel like I've lost 80% of what I read today. Entertaining as almost all of these are ridiculous but that's what I expected but forgettable

Pretty interesting - I used to be into conspiracy theories when I was younger and this is essentially a compilation of different theories, so if that's your thing, you would love this. Definitely some classics in there but also some others that I hadn't heard of before. A pretty cool read! Spooky 👀

With 108 conspiracies covered it is a quick overview. I would have preferred less conspiracies with some more detail. I did learn some new conspiracies which lined up with the TV show American Horror Story, interestingly!

This book wasn't great, it kind of just went into the more far fetched outlandish conspiracy theories without really going into depth about any of them. It was just ok to pass the time with but I definitely wouldn't read it again.

I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it went into detail about why and not just stating everything as facts. It did freak me out tho so good going I guess.
