Do you enjoy sitting out on your back porch, sipping on tea, and watching afternoon storms roll in? Yes? Then we're kindred spirits and you'll love the unruly weather in my Southern Storms series that complicates things considerably for the main characters in my novels.
I live with my hubby smack-dab in the middle of the beautiful state of Alabama. Although it gets hot and muggy in the summer where we live, the beach and inspiration for my next novels are only a weekend trip away.

Beth is very insecure about her worth... or rather she's sure about her lack of it. She comes off as a weak character, but I think she's really just resigned to be unmatched.
Kevin is a stronger personality, but he believes he doesn't deserve to be paired up with someone. Hasn't he let enough people down already?
Like it or not, they ae pulled together and so they let go of their doubts and insecurity. Although the story ends happily, I do believe they will have to work for their HEA.
This was a good short story about two hurting people who come together. Beth is barely holding on and her pay just makes her bills. Kevin, a Vet, is recovering from both physical and emotional scars from his last tour. Things change on the day that Kevin comes into the Magnolia Hills restaurant to drop a delivery. He meets Beth and has a hard time getting her off his mind. He returns and asks her out. Meanwhile a Hurricane is bearing down on their area. Due to a misunderstanding and both getting scared, they call off their dating. Then Kevin realizes it was a mistake, so he heads out into the Hurricane to make things right with Beth. Will he find Beth? Can they get past their hurt and make a new life?
Beth is a hard working gal, down on her luck. Living in a rickety old trailer outside of town, driving a broken down car that doesn't start half the time, behind on all her bills and working double shifts for the Wicked-witch Roberta, to try to catch up. Kevin is the towns new delivery driver, back from the war and suffering with PTSD.
This was a small book with a lot in it! The Author was able to do this by writing as you & I do! You can see the area, feel the weather and the dangers that wait around the corner! But, you also will get a bit of flirting & teasing! I loved Beth & Kevin and all her waitress friends! And, the Sheriff & the bossie owner of the cafe! I received this book for free but, that hasn’t changed my review! Grab one to put on your tbr stack! It is definetly a keeper
This was a nice quick read that I wished was longer. I feel that there was a few missing pieces that would have made the story better, such as what caused Beth to be so insecure and feel that no guy would be in it for the long haul with her. I liked the main characters and the story was realistic.
