Thirty-one years have passed. Leira and Correk have made a sudden return to Austin at the behest of Estelle.

No one turns down a request from Estelle.

Magicals have been found unconscious all over town. Their souls ripped from their bodies.

Is it a virus? Or is it a new foe with a gruesome scheme? Leira Berens is left with no magical trails to follow and the bodies keep piling up.

Felix Hagan has come back to help solve this case before it’s too late. Can Izzie be far behind?

An old menace has reappeared. This time with a few new tricks. Will Leira be able to put the pieces of this puzzle together in time?

Will the cure turn out to be worse than the problem?

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

Where do I start???

Set 31 years after the last book, Leira, Correk and YTT are back in Austin after Estelle puts out a distress signal.

After arriving, they find out that magicals are having their souls removed so all is left is an empty shell of a person who is still breathing, just unable to wake.

Leira and co have to dig around to find out what is happening and why, and also to put a stop to it.

Plenty of old faces and a few new ones.

There are past events referred to in this book called the Rome Wars and if you think you have missed some books, don't worry, you haven't as they haven't been written yet.

Great book, loved it and can't wait for the next one!!!

Leira, Yumfuck and Correk are back in Austin after a 30 year absence. Estelle has called for their help. Magicals are falling into a coma-like state from something stealing their life essence.
Leira and Yumfuck are up to their old hijinks while searching for a way to help the magicals. Estelle is her old ornery self.
The same sort of fun that I have come to expect from any Leira Berens book

A little stutter in time

Thirty years ago, Leira and Correck were just starting out. She was the first Bounty Hunter, and he was starting out to be the Fixer. Then BAM, jump to the future where they have survived many trials, and have a grown daughter. And still the dark mist and evil creatures of the world in between are causing havoc. A good read

Even with the 31year gap this great!

So enjoyed this book. So much happens: old friends are reunited to battle old evils with great twists and turns. I understand why author Carr had to write this one before what should have come next and I look forward to when she can fill in the gap.

I love the Berens women!!!

It's been just a little while since we had all the Berens women together even a little. I'd love more of that but maybe one day! This was a great addition to Correck and Leira's story. This one saw many old friends coming back and other new ones in mortal danger. A great story and I can't wait for the next one!!

Loved it!

This was just too short! Loved it completely and can’t wait until number 14 comes out. I read all of them 1-13. Anxiously waiting for more! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Exciting

Wow! 31 years have past. This book was as exciting as all the rest. I looked forward to book 14 coming out in just a few weeks. Can't wait to see what happens with Leira and her sister! Didn't even know she had a half sister!

So Good!

This story is SO good, but aargh! It ended too soon. I can't wait for the next one. If you haven't read any of the Laura chronicles then start at the beginning. These stories are definitely worth the time: drama, humor, adventure and above all, family.

Good read

Even this far in series I still enjoy the fast paced fun read. Would love to see some longer detail on certain relationships characters have since I forget as time goes by to job my memory. Please keep writing though!

Binge worthy!

Have had myself firmly entrenched in the world of Leira, Correk and Yumfuck. Such a great series! Strong characters with a deep sense of right and wrong. Love being at the core, love of family, friends and junk food! Looking forward to their further adventures!

Lost

The problem with this book, was that I was lost and confused. I kept looking to see if I missed a book in the series because it kept referencing events that I do not remember in book 12. Other than that, the book was enjoyable and the troll was still a hit.

Another enjoyable read

While this story skips a rather large amount of time from the last installment , it picks right back up with the cast of characters. Now I'm looking forward to finding out who or where Estelle really is. Looking forward to the next installment.

Revisiting old favourites

Another great story of the original bounty hunter - and a non-ending that leaves you demanding more to come, SOON!

Wow!

It's been so long sinc - e I read book 12 of the Liera Chronicles, but as soon as I started reading this book - thirteen - it all came back to me, and I was off!

I absolutely loved this book, especially the deep love that Liera and Correk hold for each other, and the way in which Yumfuck Tiberius Troll holds Liera so close in his life.

I really love that adorably roguishTroll! Lol

As usual, the Dark Families are plotting away, after the death of Wolfgang, their Leader, but everyone, that's the Dark Families, and everyone else, know that 'something extremely wicked this way comes'!

When Liera finds out exactly what it is, it takes all the persuasion that Tess, the ancient Seer that all but a few thought dead, can give, to show Liera that she CAN do something to prevent the Dark taking over everything, and without giving her life in repayment!

Well, I'm really excited to take on reading Book Fourteen; ':Power of Magic', in order to continue to find out just how Leira will beat what''s coming for her.

So, I'm going on to start reading it, and I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!

About time for a great continuation.

After so long, it is lovely to rejoin favourite characters and slip into well loved situations. Then, I found an extremely enjoyable story that has gripped me so much that I have read it in basically a single session (yes, I started it before bed, but I jumped back in first thing and haven't had my lunch yet!). This deserves the five stars. Enjoy.

Oh Leira, I’ve missed you.

I was very excited to see Leira was coming back. I’ve missed her Correk and YTT. After the last book, I wondered what could come next. They’re back with a bang and will be fighting the most dangerous foe of all. Desperately waiting for the next book.

Okay but

Not as good as books 1 through 12. Major change in feel from earlier books. Kind of loose feeling. Unconnected and too many irons in the fire.
