I was a normal girl, until one day I wasn’t. The very same day, men stole me away and held me captive. They imprisoned me with four guys, all with powers of their own: Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus and Hermes. They keep me sane while we plot our escape. But will we make it out alive?
*This is a medium burn, paranormal prison fantasy, reverse harem. The story changes POVs between the main character and her men. The steaminess factor will go up as the series goes on and is intended for 17+. This book is 30,000 words and ends on a cliff hanger*
I was very surprised when I reached the end of this book because it's very short! It's indeed the first book in this serie but I'm quite sure that it will be the same with the next books🤔
Well, the story talks about Aphrodite who's been kidnapped and emprisoned in a mysterious compound with four hot guys. Guess the name of the guys? Apollo, Ares (the assh*le one of course), Hermes, and Hephaistus. That's the first thing I really dislike in this book...so obvious🙄🙄🤦🏻♀️ So, the guys have been detained for many months and tortured in order to unveiled their supernatural powers (see, obvious...). Aphrodite discovered at that time that she has power as well. The continuation is common: plotting, escape, etc. Expect a welcome cliffhanger (it made up for the unoriginal plot😅).
Things are too obvious in this book and it lacks of details but thanks to the cliffhanger I will read the next book...just to know...you know? 😅😂
I enjoyed this book a good bit. I love anything mythology based, and getting to see such a unique tale on Greek mythos definitely drew me in.
At the end of this part of the trilogy, I was confused. The plot building for the overall storyline wasn’t played out very well in the beginning and it kind of just focused on the FMC and her men meeting. As well as the discovery of her powers. I just needed more questions presented in this book to really build things up for the rest of the series.
I like the FMC. She’s very sweet but also strong and assertive when she needs to be. The men are all equally as interesting. I really adore Mes and Tus and their dynamic both as twins and with Aphrodite. I look forward to seeing where their journey takes them!
For a novella, it’s alright. You only have a short amount of time to build a whole world, and I find that the satisfaction of starting and ending a book within a few hours outweighs the frustration of a juvenile writing style. It reminds me of the days of reading wattpad in class. Don’t get me wrong, this is the 5th book by the author I’ve read. It’s not awful, it’s just not great.
I just absolutely love every story this woman writes! It’s captivating from the beginning all the way through to the end! I love that this story is about gods that didn’t know they were gods until their powers were awakened. The instant love/care the four men have in their own ways for the only female locked up with them is beautiful. Not at all surprised that the books leaves you on a cliffhanger!
I feel like I just read a poorly written fanfiction. This has the typical girl that needs to be protected, but it was a little bit better because she had powers. They were all talking about how they didn’t know they had powers before they were kidnapped, but they didn’t question that they were all named after Greek gods. I might read some of the next one just because I want to see if Ares gets over his crap and will be with Aphrodite.
Loved it, I was completely captivated from the very start, it’s so full of action and suspense. Loved that you never knew what would happen next. The gods are interesting, their unique powers were really great. Cliffhanger ending, looking forward to diving into book 2
I love reverse harems novels, and lately it feels like there are no new and refreshing series in this genre. Then I read this novel and I am finally excited for this genre again. I am sold on D.M. Page! I’m going to read the next book in this series now.
This is an interesting story that is very original. I had it read before I realized it was over! It keeps your interest and makes you anxious to read the next!
