MOIRA I’ve been to hell and back, And back again. It's a never-ending cycle for me. Every time I think the worst is over, I get knocked right back down again. I grew up on the streets. I've been traded in and out of men's beds, I thought that was my lowest moment, but I was wrong. I was taken from one hell and sold into another.
I'm calloused, hardened, and hopeless. But when Griff swoops in, More than once, To protect me, save me, rescue me, One thing is certain: He’ll never stop saving me. He’s my Guardian angel, One I can't live without.
GRIFF I'd go to Hell and back to save her, Knock anyone down who gets in my way. I did it once. I’ll do it again. I’ll do it as many times as it takes. She's strong, bold, and beautiful, Yet vulnerable, sensitive, and perfect. She deserves the best in life, Except for the hand she's been dealt. I need her, love her, crave her, And I'll do anything to keep Moira safe.
Ellie Masters is a USA Today Bestselling author and Amazon Top 15 Author.
In addition, she's a wife, military mom, doctor, and retired Colonel.
She writes romantic suspense filled with all your sexy, swoon-worthy alpha men. Her writing will tug at your heartstrings and leave your heart racing.
Born in the South, raised under the Hawaiian sun, Ellie has traveled the globe while in service to her country. The love of her life, her amazing husband, is her number one fan and biggest supporter. And yes! He's read every word she's written.
Moira has been through it – it is raw, gritty and emotional as we accompany her through her second kidnap as a slave. Griff is wounded a relegated to “support” in the search for Moira. The entire Alpha team is here including Forest and Skye.
We get just as frustrated as Moira when Griff plays the gentleman.
Emotional and harsh on one side; tender and impassioned on another.
“My heart swells with the love he holds for me. Heat and passion simmer in his eyes – last night was epic – but it’s more than that. We’ve lowered our walls, shown our vulnerabilities, and grow closer each and every day.”
Action-packed with incredible emotion. This story will keep you glued to your chair until the final page. What an amazing series from one of my favorite authors.

Griff & Moira’s Dark Thriller Is About Captivity, Rescue, & Recovery. Violent Action Scenes Contrast With A Deep Journey Of Discovery. The Pair Works To Make Their Own Sense Of Normal Despite The Depravity They Have Both Witnessed And Partaken Of. It Also Goes Deep Into Alpha Team’s Missions With Play By Play Action. The Suspense Mounts As The Guardians Work To Bring A Human Trafficking Ring Down.
Trigger warning: sensitive readers should take note. This book includes violence, abduction, issues of non-consent, and captivity.
This is book three of The Guardians: Hostage Rescue Specialists series. Each book is a standalone, following one couple’s happy for now ending, but the story of the Guardians is ongoing throughout. ABOUT THE GUARDIANS: HOSTAGE RESCUE SPECIALISTS
An organization formed for the purpose of rescuing hostages both domestic and worldwide, Guardian HRS is composed of primarily ex-military special forces – trained soldiers and experts in their fields. The best and the finest are recruited upon leaving the military in order to serve on these elite teams. Since most are former military, they slide into their roles with relative ease. They must perfect enhanced interrogation techniques, without which their missions would be doomed to fail. Unlike the military, they are not restricted by governmental standards. They have no qualms about taking out bad guys. Due to the nature of their work, staying in prime physical condition is a requirement. When not employed on missions, the Guardians do physical training and drills. They work one week a month to empower their rescued victims by teaching them self-defense. Tech and medical teams provide vital mission support to the Guardians.
Sam, who is a legend in the black ops community, heads the organization. He is well-connected in the government and recruits only the best to join the ranks of the Guardians. The company assists the FBI on a contract basis with domestic off-the-books hostage extractions, working mostly with wealthy clients. These government connections help to keep Guardians protected by people in high places even though their work doesn’t typically stay within the law.
The tech team is a brilliant but disorganized group. They are led by Mitzy, Lead Technical Engineer, who has a bit of OCD but is a veritable tech genius. Mitzy is quirky and brilliant with a computer, so Forest snatched her up for the Guardians. The tech team works in the background, digging up the information needed to ensure successful missions. Mitzy works with facts and leaves the assumptions to the Guardians.
The medical team stands on call at all times. They frequently travel on location to save lives and administer care to team members and rescued victims alike. Dr. Skye Summers, Lead Medical Physician, also happens to be one of the two co-founders of The Guardians. Ryker and Tia, a married couple, are on the medical team.
Guardian operations are overseen by Charles James Rowan (CJ), formerly of Delta team, who has become a famed member of the organization since bringing down a serial killer and his copy cat in book one. He still reports to Sam, but he has since been promoted to Mission Commander. He leads Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta teams. Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie teams travel worldwide to take down traffickers and rescue victims. Delta team’s focus remains domestic.
Alpha team includes Max (Alpha-One) as team leader. Knox is his second (Alpha-Two). Axel (Alpha-Three) is team medic. Griff (Alpha-Four) specializes in interrogation. Liam and Wolfe finish out the team (Alpha-Five and Alpha-Six).
Bravo team is led by Brady, Max’s best friend (Bravo-One). The team includes Booker.
Charlie team includes Tex as team leader (Charlie-One), Hank (Charlie-Two), Walt (Charlie-Three), Blake, Jeb, and Gabe.
Delta, CJ’s old team, is now led by Jenny (Delta-One). Delta team is the only Guardian team with female members. Others on the team include Mac, Jon Knutt, Brett Parmley, and Charlene Moudin (Delta-Six). Charlie/Charlene – every man’s wet dream – is the newest member of the team. Jenny is from Brazil and a former victim herself. She and Mac have an interesting dynamic.
Located along the California coast, The Facility is a residential rehabilitation center run by the organization. It is a secure facility that rescued victims can opt to stay at while learning to overcome the trauma they have faced. The huge complex serves as a safe place for trafficking survivors and rescued youth to live and learn how to recover their lives. Most of its residents are minors, many of which were rescued from the foster system. In addition to learning self-defense, they are provided counseling and education. While residents at The Facility, victims work to build self-confidence. They learn to empower themselves by not being victims, but by becoming survivors.
Forest Summers is a billionaire investor whose support funds many of the Guardians’ activities. He and his sister Skye co-founded The Guardians: HRS. Sam runs the show, but he reports to Forest. Forest’s troubled youth has inspired him to help those in need. He is committed to rescuing youth from bad foster homes as well as liberating those swept up into human trafficking. Taking down the networks behind the business is a priority. Forest’s interests don’t just stop there, though. He also founded The Facility and manages the rock band Angel Fire. He dabbles in many things. He has a brilliant but unusual mind. He doesn’t relate well to people yet dedicates his time and money to helping the most unfortunate.
Note that Forest Summers is a crossover character. An emotional prequel to his story gives readers insight into his early trauma and motivation. Read the novella Ashes to New to learn about him and his foster sister Skye. Read Changing Roles (books 4-6), a book by Jet Masters (and Ellie Masters) that crosses several series in one book. It is also book two in the Captive Hearts series. It shows the human trafficking side of the story, and Forest’s involvement from that angle. He is also in the Angel Fire rock star series as their manager, where he finally gets his own HEA. Forest’s Fall is book six of that series. It takes place after Changing Roles (and was previously book three of the Captive Hearts series).
That is not the only crossover. Three on the medical team also have crossover stories. Skye Summers gets her story with Ash Dean (a.k.a. Blaze) in book one of the Angel Fire rock band series, Heart’s Insanity. Major Tia Meyers (T) and Technical Sergeant Ryker Lyons get their story in Heart’s Desire, book two of the Angel Fire series. On the tech side, Mitzy gets her story with Noodles of Angel Fire in book five of that series, Hearts Entwined. It was through Forest that she met rock star Noodles. IN THIS BOOK:
This story revolves around Alpha team. In book two, Zoe and Moira are kidnapped while on an outing in Santa Monica – their first time leaving The Facility. Zoe is tracked down to a Columbian warehouse and rescued, but Moira couldn’t be found. They all returned home to wait for the tech team to track down her whereabouts.
Moira Stone, twenty-two, is a survivor. It is the only reason she is still alive today. Her father walked out at age five, her mother overdosed at age eleven, and the foster system failed her at age twelve. After her foster mom didn’t protect her from her foster father, she ran away at age. Four years on the streets taught her even more about survival. She watched and learned how to survive, selling herself to horrid men. At sixteen she thought she caught a break, but instead found herself tricked into being a sex slave. She was passed around. John Snowden, Forest’s biggest enemy, had been her cruel master.
She was rescued from the Philippines one year ago, in an operation that took Snowden down. Though she was the oldest at The Facility and an adult, her prolonged stay was a combination of her lack of education and lack of support. Without family and the skills requisite to transition to a normal and healthy life on her own, The Facility was working with her to earn her GED and get into a healthy head space. Moira longs to be a normal girl and lead a normal life. So when she is kidnapped a second time soon after leaving the secure environment of The Facility, Moira has to wonder if she will ever achieve that dream of something normal, or if she will merely survive to be sucked back into a life that isn’t much like living.
Griffen Morningstar was never comfortable with his privilege. He hated his parents when he was in high school. They worked hard to save for and build their dream home, but Griff knew so many of his friends weren’t as lucky. He left home at seventeen to enlist in the Navy, and his fellow Seamen made a meager living. After his parents died, leaving him with their coastal home near The Facility along with some money, Griff hardly knew how to handle his wealth. Now as a Guardian, his co-workers all make a good living. Griff has less to feel guilty about, but he still hasn’t’ come to grips with his circumstances. That might be because he is laser focused on work, spending little time on his personal life. He is cold as ice when focused on a mission; emotions have no place on the job. That skill helped him get recruited into Delta Force and later into the ranks of the Guardians.
Griff’s life revolves around work, so he only has short flings or an occasional hookup. He hasn’t had a girlfriend since high school. Since rescuing Moira from the Philippines, his outlook on dating has changed. He wants her, but Moira was a victim, and as tempting as she had been over the past year, it was a line he would never cross. He had professional standards. That wasn’t to say that he didn’t have plans for when she eventually left The Facility. Moira was different. She was strong and resilient. Feisty and flirty. She was perfect, and he would wait for the right time. He is an alpha male through and through, but he exercises complete control over himself. He wouldn’t be selfish and ruin things before they even started. Moira first has to heal first. Patience will win the day with her, even if she is too eager to know better.
When the Guardians fail to rescue Moira after she and Zoe are kidnapped from Santa Monica, Griff is desperate to get the team back in action. He doesn’t care about being professional anymore. He just wants to bring his girl home. Zoe’s rescue left him with a leg injury that could leave him disabled if he doesn’t take it easy, but being rational is hard for him when his girl’s life is on the line. The four days it takes to track her down are like an eternity – anything could be happening to her – but he never anticipates the horror that she would live through.
Griff might have Moira back, but she is back to ground one. This time, though, he is doing things differently. Moira belongs to him and he won’t deny it. But there are many outstanding questions – including why she had been targeted a second time around, and who was behind it. As Griff and Moira begin to explore their relationship, they must find a delicate balance. Moira has issues with control and trust, and Griff hopes she will open up and let him help talk her through her trauma. The Facility had been her home for a year, but they both worry that it will end up tearing them apart. Forest is rather unconventional, and his ideas have the potential to cause some real damage. They are taught to trust the system, but sometimes trust doesn’t come easily. The couple eventually earns a happy for now ending.
Griff and Moira’s story starts out full of shocking action as the team mobilizes for Moira’s second rescue. Her ordeal is horrific, and only a seasoned survivor like Moira could pull it off. Their chemistry sizzles despite all the trauma. Griff is a wonderful combination of hands-off patience and domineering alpha, a perfect combination for Moira. She is used to being dominated and controlled. It is something she never wants again. But Griff’s version has the benefits without the all the negatives. Moira finds herself comforted in his presence. Through her eyes, Griff begins to see his life a little differently, so they make a great match.
A few issues merit mention. *Spoilers* First, the story gets repetitious at several points, particularly when detailing the facts about the Guardians. Next, there are a few questions that arise, but most are eventually answered. Third, there are some contradictory statements. Fourth, there are two off the wall crazy ideas that are hard to believe. One comes from Moira and seems a little inauthentic, but it furthers the plot. The other is from Forest, and that too furthers the plot but seems absurdly dangerous and inappropriate. Fifth, Ryker’s exam of Moira doesn’t go into enough detail for someone that survived what she did. He failed to ask pertinent questions that could lead to a more thorough exam. Finally, Griff’s age is not given. His best friend Axel is twenty-five, and it is reasonable to assume that the Guardians aren’t terribly old given the strenuous physical requirements of the job. There is a single clue given – that Griff has decades of training – which doesn’t seem plausible. That would make him roughly forty or fifty. I presume he is likely between his mid-twenties and early thirties.
Fans will note that the last chapter points to the next book in the series, Rescuing Eve (book four). Eve Deverough had been kidnapped from Cancun along with Zoe in book two. After getting unloaded from the container ship, the girls were separated and put onto different flatbed trucks. There are hints that Max (Alpha-One) will be sent into a trafficking ring undercover, taking advantage of the information recovered by Moira.
Griff and Moira’s dark thriller is about captivity, rescue, and recovery. The story is plot-driven. The details are complex. Although the books in the series are standalone, much is gained by reading them all in order. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Griff and Moira, with the last chapter in Eve’s POV. I rate this book four stars.

I love the Guardians. Moira's story is raw and heartfelt. A story of one tough survivor. Ellie Masters weaves a story of hope in all her books while exposing the harsh realities of an evil world of sex trafficking and a sickness in the most evil of men. It is a tough subject to write about, but the characters she brings together to explore this topic are the best of best, the Guardians. My ultimate hero, Forrest, has made it his life's work, from managing the greatest band to putting together the best Trauma teams, the best intelligence teams and the best exp military special forces hostage rescuers, the Guardians, that money can buy. The family of unforgettable characters keeps on growing. I love her stories and will read anything she writes.
Moira's backstory was incredibly tragic and horrifying, yet I liked the way the author had her as a tough survivor. I'm not sure if someone could overcome all of the obstacles of abuse, abandonment, betrayal, and torture that she went through, but as a dark fiction romance it gave me some hope that maybe someone could be tough like Moira. I loved the way Moira actually saved herself from her kidnappers as she dug down deep to keep Four's instruction and faith in her alive. When Four finally got to her and truly showed her his true feelings, well, this story became a keeper for my library. Intense, passionate and graphic scenes that showed their chemistry and connection. Now looking forward to more of this author's creations.

Rescuing Moira (Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists #3) is another spellbounding, dark dangerous romantic story in this series about Griff and Moira as only Ellie Masters can tell.
Rescuing Moira takes place after Zoe's rescue and the after effects leading to Moira being captured once again. This story is full of dark elements of sex slavery, torture, abuse and self preservation. Griff is healing from his injury but is anxious to go out and find Moira. Moira is broken and battered by her kidnappers with no chance of escaping. Now she tries to pull her strength from the training she received from #4 (Griff). Moira is about to take matters into her own hands as she will play these men against each other with a plan that is brutal and cunning. Once she is able to alert the Guardians her life is still in danger as the other men on the ship found she is missing and are searching for her. We have a brillant heart pounding rescue by Griff and the Alpha Team as Moira and Griff will begin a relationship that is explosive and full of sensual moments as these two will no longer deny the passion that is between them. Moira is broken and tormented about what she did to the men that held her captive as her mental state is fragile, will the facility be able to help her? Griff with all the love and strength he has for her gives her the space she needs hoping she will confide in him but it may not be enough. Moira's love for Griff won't allow herself to tell him what happened as she is spiraling out of control. When Moira has a breakdown, she finally tells Griff everything and when he tells her he knew what she had to do, he now has to show and prove to her in order for her to heal that she isn't a murderer but a survivor. So much, drama, angst as well as a little humor thrown in with Griff and his men as the Guardian's have put a plan into action. They want to use Moira as bait to get the man who wants to buy her still and started all of this chaos. Will Griff be able to stop Moira from wanting to help? Will he understand she needs to do this in order to heal? Now Moira will be put to the test as Griff and the team train her to no longer be a victim but a hard edge warrior. When their plan to use her as bait go awry, once again Moira is in danger but Griff along with Alpha team are right on her trail to save the woman he loves at all cost as Moira's training will be put to the test. You will be on edge from beginning to end with all of the drama, violence, steamy moments and suspense leading up to a dramatic ending as the identify of the man who has Moira is revealed. The Guardians need to get as much information out of him about the sex trafficking ring as well as who is behind it all before he is dealt with. Finally Griff and Moira will look towards the future together with a love that is all consuming, one that will last forever for this dynamic powerful couple. This is a must read, one that will capture you! Can't wait for the next book about Eve.
Been there, done that, have the bags under my eyes from staying up late to finish this story!
Griff and Moira are first introduced in Rescuing Zoe which I highly recommend reading before this book because there are story elements that will make more sense if you have that background. Rescuing Moira is actually the 3rd installment of the Guardian series so really you should start at Saving Melissa which is book 1, but that's just me and I find enjoyment in reading a series from the beginning.
Griff is former military turned Guardian who is responsible for first saving Moira over a year ago from a sex slavery operation. Moira is a SURVIVOR in every sense of the word. Her parents failed her, her foster parents abused and abandoned her at age 12 and she began a life of just trying to exist before she was taken and sold as a slave. Now rescued in her early 20's she is living at the Facility learning how to return to the "real" world after the life she has known. Part of her education is learning to defend herself and Griff is her assigned teacher although his identity is shielded and he is known to her only as "Four." A bond between the two develops although neither act on it.
In her first night out from the Facility Moira and her friend Zoe (see Rescuing Zoe) are abducted and Griff will stop at nothing to get Moira back while finally acknowledging his feelings. Through her abduction discovers an even deeper well of strength that she didn't realize she had in order to survive and assist with her own recovery. What comes next is a testament to fighting back and never giving up.
I've said it again and again but Ellie Masters is truly the master of creating characters and stories that suck you in and keep you on the edge of your seat.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily and without compensation.
Ellie Masters' Guardian Series books are all intense stories surrounding women with an unstoppable inner strength and the Guardians who vow to protect mankind. Each book takes us on a whirlwind ride, to unthinkable places, while a team of very special men who will stop at nothing to accomplish their task, fight till the bitter end to save their rescuees.
Moira has endured things in her life no woman should ever have to face. It started when she was a young child, and she learned how to survive and read all the bad men. Leading a normal life is almost surreal for Moira, so when she is targeted again, she takes it all in stride, and pulls from her inner strength. She does what she can to survive the darkness again.
Griff has endured his own pain and loss in life and has kept it mostly to himself. He has never cared so deeply for a woman than he does for Moira, and he is not about to lose her before he even has a chance to call her his. Bureaucracy and an injury hold him back, but still Rescuing Moira becomes all Griff can think about until she is home safe in his arms.
You don't need to read this series in order, but it does help to keep the timelines in perspective. All the guardians are worth their weight in gold, so why not read about them all.
If you like special ops, muscle-cut men who will go to any lengths for the women they love, then the Guardian Series IS FOR YOU!
This is book three in The Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists Series and it is Griff and Moira's story and omg this book will brake you apart and then put you back together and it is so emotional and a must read. Moira has suffered all her life from physical and emotional abuse but she thought after being rescued and being at the facility that things would get better but on her first day out of the facility she is kidnapped yet again and she doesn't know how much longer she can survive the beatings and abuse and she wonders if anything else can happen to her and will she get out alive. Griff is a guardian hostage rescuer and he saved Moira once and he is determined that he will do it again regardless of the situation but things don't always go as planned and will he be able to make it in time to save her this time especially as he is injured and recovering from the last mission. Griff and Moira's connection and chemistry between them is so hot that you can feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next and it was so addictive that I couldn't put this book down. I absolutely love this book and series and I definitely recommend you read them and you will not be disappointed. Ellie Masters is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention as she takes you into the story right from the first page and keeps you so engrossed throughout the story. I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this Amazing Book.
This book was an emotional one and I felt so much for Moira. Her life has been rough, and the last year she felt as if she had really grown and learned all she needed to take care of herself. She wants so much to be "normal". Unfortunately the first time she's out on her own she's kidnapped. She believes this proves she learned nothing, but truly she is a strong woman and a survivor and she practically rescues herself, using the skills she was taught. The second half of the story is how she and Griff recover from this situation, how they communicate (which can I just say I love how they can fight and talk it out and it's not the end of the relationship), and how they learn to be together. Griff has to learn how to balance his need to control and protect while allowing Moira to spread her wings and fly. I loved the story and the teaser at the end has me looking forward to the next in the series.

The Guardian Hostage Rescue series gets more intense with every book. With the dangerous missions, heroic rescues, nail biting suspense and sizzling romance, it's an addictive adrenalin rush.
I've been a massive fan of Griff ( four ) since the beginning, the rough exterior and dangerous vibe he gave off definitely enticed me in. He's a true Battle hardened warrior and all male...GAH!! I love this guy even more now.
Moria is a super strong character, this girl has lived through hell and she's still standing. No matter what happens, Moria keeps getting up, she's a born survivor. I absolutely loved and admired her for that.
Moria and Griff's journey was very emotional. It was a dangerous, heart wrenching journey about surviving against the odds, learning to live and love. It was suspenseful, passionate and all consuming.
I really liked how Griff knew there was more to Moria than the vulnerable girl they first rescued. He stood back due to his job, but never doubted they'd get together when the time was right. And when it was right....boy he didn't hold back. The man is a force of nature.
Moria also knew Griff was the one for her, but he kept pushing her away, luckily she knew how to push his buttons and make him snap. I loved all the scorching chemistry between them, they were explosive in every way and perfect for each other.
I'm looking forward to Knox getting his story, but Wolfe has me very intrigued too.
OMG just when you think there's no way Ellie can better a book, she does exactly that !! Moira and Griff's story is the 3rd in this series and what an incredible story it is. Moira is an incredibly strong women, who has known only abuse since she was a child. Love is something she has never known, never felt and has no idea how it feels. Griff, is your hot hunk ex special forces military, he's strong, he's highly trained and he's a Guardian, who along with Alpha team rescue hostages, mainly women who have been kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery.
Without doubt the chemistry between Moira and Griff is so far off the charts it's insane and Ellie puts you right into both thier heads so you really feel what both Moira and Griff feel. I loved seeing the softer side of Griff, which goes against what you "think" you know about him. I'm in awe of Moira and just how she managed to survive everything she has been through. Safe to say, that you won't see everything coming up, theres a fair few twists and turns which will keep you looking over your shoulder as well as turning pages.
Will survive a second round of the same hell? Will he be able to rescue her in time?
Rescuing Moira is the third book in the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series and is another adrenaline fueled action romance story. This one is about Griff and Moira. He is part of the Guardian's and she is in need of rescuing, a second time around actually. Moira had been rescued a year ago and since then has been recovering and trying to get back to a normal life again. So when she and a friend decide to go to the beach she does not think anything about it. The only problem is that she are snatched again and thrust into the dark world of human sex trafficking for a second round of hell. She is strong but is she strong enough to live through this until she can be rescued? This story is filled with heart pounding action, adventure, suspense, danger and also some sweet and tender romance and a healthy dose of emotion sprinkled all over it.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
First chapter, I didn't quite know what to think. It was if Moira was speaking directly to me, instead of me reading the thoughts of her mind. But then the second chapter, it's Griff's POV and the rest of the story flowed. "Flowed". Sounds like a sweet story. But there's nothing sweet about Moira, surviving an abduction, a year of learning to get her life back, only to be abducted into human trafficking a second time. Moira is one of the strongest characters to ever be written into a story. The tragedies that she experienced and continue to experience throughout Rescuing Moira effect her mind, body and soul. Griff and his team are a force to be reckoned with. And with a team that can read the minds and actions of each other, they are unstoppable when their plans are set in motion. There's no secret, with a title "Rescuing Moira", that Alpha Team of the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists set out to rescue Moira, but my wildest imagination couldn't conger up what the "rescue" would involve. Be prepared to be knocked off your axis! This story will leave you on the edge of your seat with your heart pounding!
One of the best series ever!!!! Totally addictive. I wanted to speed read through so I could find out what happens but also at the same time, I wanted to stop so I could make it last longer. Oh and let me just tell you now that Griff will heat you up with such a sexy gruff exterior and melt you with his soft hidden heart. Hot alpha heroes for the win and Ellie does not disappoint with all these amazing characters throughout this whole series. Now let’s talk heroines shall we? My heart just about broke for all that Moira has endured in her life, but she will surprise you with her strength and spunk! This story had me practically on the edge of my seat the whole time! High heat, suspense, relatable emotions, and intense action combined to bring an amazing book in Rescuing Moira! If I could give it a higher rating I definitely would!!! I highly recommend you read this book! Thank you Ellie for sharing your wonderful talent with us readers.
The third installment of the Guardian hostage rescue series, and it just gets more intense. Moira is a wonderful character, life constantly deals her the worst cards ever. I love how her determination to survive, even when she wants to give up, is so strong it takes over. Griff is exactly the kind of man I would like to have in my corner. Strong and passionate, he knows what he wants and he wants Moira! The passion these two share is off the scale, I loved how they are both discovering together, how to be in a relationship, with lots of scorching hot heat! I totally love all of the linked stories Ellie Masters weaves together, her characters pull you in until you are completely invested. My one wish is for Moira to not be kidnapped ever again - she has survived now she needs to live her best life with Griff.
Book 3 in the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series.
Moira is one tough cookie who has been through a lot. She was rescued by the Guardian HRS a year ago and she is on her way to try to be "normal" again. When her and a friend go to the beach to hang out, only to be kidnapped, she doubts the progress she's made. Now she's forced to fight her way free again.
Griff is a member of the Guardian HRS Alpha team. He likes Moira, but she's been through a lot. He doesn't want to take advantage of her when he is her trainer at the Guardian Facility. But when she's kidnapped, he finds it hard to keep his feelings hidden from his teammates.
Moira and Griff are an intense couple who find their way to be together in this third installment of the Guardian HRS series by Ellie Masters.
The teaser for Rescuing Eve at the end of the book sounds promising as well.
I received a free copy of Rescuing Moira via BookFunnel in exchange for an honest review.
These books could be considered hard reading, they deal with such difficult subjects in quite a bit of detail...
But it’s so well done, and the overriding message is one of endurance, survival and redemption with a beautiful love story mixed in alongside an exciting underlying, continuing enemy threat.
I adore how Geoff supports Moira, seeks to understand and offer her strength and has such belief in her. I loved the HEA and am excited to see in the future books where Moira finds herself.
Another great story in this fantastic series that just keeps getting better and better. We learn more about the supporting characters as we go which builds excitement for the future books. I’m excited for the rest of Alpha team to fall but now Jenny and Mack are in my sights too....

Miss Masters writes an engaging and brutal read! This is Griff and Moira story. These two characters were very well developed, with a backstory that is brutal as it is vicious. Griff has suffered from a life threating injury and Moira is subjected to horrendous cruelty. Coming together with these two is a love story that will have you falling to your knees hoping and praying that can figure out in time what it is that each of them mean to each other. Written very well with visuals that your mind creates and hoping that you never see how those visuals leave you. You hope and pray for these characters from the beginning. It does have triggers that are not only implied but given to the reader straight away. I would recommend this series and this author.

I have read many books by Ellie Masters and every one has been awesome. The Guardian series ..... Each book, each heroine, each hero, each story has blown me away.. Now and then I have had to stop to absorb, to wrap my head around the subject, the moment, the scene I just read... These characters are so real... Moira and Griff are a perfect pair. Griff is an absolute great guy and Moira has the strength in her soul to never give up, not even when she wonders how to survive another kidnapping. Another set of monsters.. I highly recommend this story and all the books in the series.. I also highly recommend any story written by this talented author.

After having been rescued once from slavers, Moira thought her days of living in fear were over, except she was taken again when out for an evening at the beach with a friend...she knows how to survive as she's had to do that for most of her life, so abuse, degradation and using her body were second nature....but she still had hope in Griff and his team. Griff and Moira had an explosive chemistry which was revealed by both in their own thoughts...but he is sidelined because of a near fatal gunshot wound...however he is determined to be a member of the Guardian Alpha team to rescue the woman he can't get out of his head, even if he had to promise to just be mission support. There are many unforeseen twists and turns in this explosive story, so this reader had to keep reading well into the night to find out what happened...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
Such a fantastic story. I couldn't put it down. Moria has had so much happen to her and she's become a fighter and a survivor. She gets rescued from sex slavery, is getting an education at a facility run by the Guardians and finally getting her life on track, learning self defense and has plenty of access to doctors for her physical and mental health She decides to go outside trying to feel normal and gets taken again. She will stay strong because she knows that Griff is coming to get her. She get rescued by Guardian Four who's real name is Griff. This is a passionate, steamy, heartwarming and emotional story and Griff and Moria make it out as being stronger and soul mates. Can't wait to read the next story. It was a heartstopping moment in Rescuing Zoe when Moira wasn’t rescued – but she’s unbelievably strong and her survival instinct is phenomenal. This book leaves you reeling – at the courage and determination Moira has, and horror at the nightmares she has faced, endured, and overcome. Griff is her Four, the Guardian working with her who has more than fallen for her. I can’t pinpoint one part of this book as my favorite; that’s impossible. The glimpses of Forest, the kindness of Skye, the cameo of Ryker, the way the Guardians work together – the vanquishing of evil – wonderful book, thank you, Ellie Masters!
I loved this book and this series. Moira was rescued by the Guardians a year ago and has been going through training to cope with Griff. She and a friend go to the beach and she is kidnapped again. How will she survive this time? Does she have the strength to fight her way out again? Will Griff be able to handle not being able to actively search for her? Griff and Moora have become close and are both developing feelings but have not acted. Will they ever be able to find out what they mean to each other?

OMG!! What a book! Moira has had a horrific life. Father gone, mother overdosed, raped by foster father and turned out onto the streets go fend for herself at age 12, and kidnapped into sexual slavery at 16. Can it get any worse?! Finally rescued by the Guardians, she hoped her life had turned around only to be captured again. Then Griff steps in and breaks through Moira's walls. Heartbreaking story of human trafficking and sadistic characters bent on destroying other lives to suit their depraved desires. The Guardian series is full of beautiful poignant romances within a fast paced thriller. There are triggers for some readers. I heartedly recommend this series!
This book was incredible. I'm still dealing with the lack of sleep from last night as I read late to finish this book. And I'm still thinking about it!!
Wow. Just wow. This book was incredible. I'm still dealing with the lack of sleep from last night as I read late to finish this book. And I'm still thinking about it. Those books are always the best. And this is definitely one of those books. It’s also one of those books I would definitely be reading again. This was so good. Couldn't put it down. This was engaging, steamy, suspenseful, emotional, action packed and awesome characters with sizzling chemistry. Can't wait for the next book to come out. Happy reading everyone!!
Wow! This book is intense and so emotional. First I've read in this series and it's good! Moira has had such a hard life and after being rescued from the depths of hell, she's woken up to find herself in the same situation. The story line is gritty and intense but I love how strong Moira is and how she survival instincts are her saviour. I also love Four (Griff) who is intense, protective, Alpha and yet strong enough to let Moira be Moira. Honestly, my heart was racing, the adrenaline was pumping and I was with Moira and Griff all the way. Really glad I found this series.

Wow, Moira is one strong woman, with the background she had and what she learned help her get through the bad times. She is amazing. Griff is a complete alpha male, the great protector and his job is to protect her. Ellie always brings her top game to her words and creates the story you can't stop reading and continually want more. This series will grab your heartstrings and pull hard, the adventures are all different and come out with the characters stronger together. Love Moira and Griff and can't wait to see what's next.
I love this series! I wish the Guardians were around in real life to help rescue abducted people! Anyways, we met Moira in the last book. She was taken with Zoe and then they lost her. Griff, Alpha Four, cares for Moira and works hard to bring her back home. But, once she's home, will Griff be able to get through to her? This is a pretty intense series, so if you have triggers, you might not want to read this series. I also loved the sneak peek into the next book, Saving Eve.

Ellie Masters' ability to paint word pictures that put you right inside the action or into the mindset of her characters is really remarkable. The opening sequences in Rescuing Moira are stark and gritty and In between the incredibly intense and suspenseful moments Griff and Moira's love story plays out. He's a rescuer, a defender and a protector. She's street smart, resilient and a survivor. Together they are white hot lust and passion. She finally know what it's like to belong and to be loved. Now she just need to reclaim her life.
