These Reckless Hearts

Rate this book
Stone Jacobs must…help me.

My life has always been defined by two interconnected things:

I’m a Wilder.

I’m a treasure hunter.

What happens when both of those things are threatened? When who I am gets pulled out from under me and my greatest enemy of all destroys me even further?

Lance and his mercenaries aren’t going to stop. They’re going to come at us until they take the treasure for themselves, and they don’t care who gets in their way. There’s no more family loyalty. No more bonds.

It’s just us versus them.

Through it all, I know one thing: We’re the only ones who deserve to find the Wilder legacy. Lance and his hired men will have to kill us if they want it for themselves—and trust me, they’re going to try.

These Reckless Hearts is the third and final book in the Saint Clary's University series, an enemies-to-lovers reverse harem.

The Action, Swoons, Revelations, Love, Fun & Dangers were an all time high in this story!
I Swooned with Every I love yous❤, Only Wyatt hadn't told Her it yet WHICH he does towards the end Now *Yay*! The 4's Character development is Tremendous. And, Cole is so much more than just a Gang leader & had such a big Role here! C's Like a Brother to Dakota, I loved him & Ninja!

The Truths may've broken her, if it wasn't for the guys' love & support.
Her Letting Stone back in was inevitable *Swoon*. I hate his dad- Lance hard (Our MAIN villain, who'll do anything for the Treasure) as the Hits increase (Poor Rich Stone..!). Our 4's Sexual Life is Fiery! And when we get the Foursome Sex scene..*Hell ya, So Hot!!* The 4 make a great team in all Ways *wink*. (FYI, No M/M)

I'm so glad everything worked out well, so grateful for Cole & Gang. Plus, Yay, they found the Treasure! The Epilogue's So Lovely+Gorgeous❤. I loved seeing their Dreams Come True & Lucas' Rehabilitation going Great😍. And our 4 had found the Real Infinite Treasure of Love through it all...Cue HEA!
"I gave them a family. And in the midst of doing that, I gave myself one, too."

It's Really Astounding how far The 4 have come <3
Dakota might just be my fav FMC ever! She's always been sassy but seeing her growing Confident throughout the series was beautiful❤. I love the guys for their Different Personalities but Same Strong Loyalty! Lucas My Sweet Emotional Boy, Stone With his Knight Tendencies & Intenseness (It's Swoony how Baby Talks get him horny!), Wyatt My Fun Joker who feels deeply, Slowly Opens up to D & no longer resist intimacy! Their Pasts had me emotional & I'm so happy for the Present they've made together! A Family.

I'll miss the 4 So much & they'll always be in my heart. I really hope that we get some bonus Scenes of their future milestones, even Some Extras From the Guys' POVs will be great! (Will there be Treasure Hunting babies?! Hopefully!)
And, I wonder if we'll get Cole or Ninja's book? *Hint, hint*

Well what an epic conclusion! My, how this series has bashed its way into my heart. Truth be told, the first book didn’t sell me- and Moore knocked me out so thoroughly with the Heights Crew, I was worried I’d never find anything with that magic. But Moore sure knows how to build a series and evolve a harem over time- and every book in this series got better and better. Of course, the Heights Crew I’m pretty sure will always take the top spot for me, but this series sure went out with a bang, and I have a softness for these characters that rivals it.

While I love the men, this series, like so many of Moore’s, is really about the destiny and power of our heroine, Dakota. She’s such a fierce heroine, one who has been - though I’ve loved as her relationship evolves with the guys that we get to see the softer aspects of her- the wounded parts of her start to unearth, and we see the nuances of this girl that for so long as just been trying to survive. I love that she gets to be strong, capable, smart- she gets to be the LEADER.

And Moore knows how to write a compelling, complicated, and nuanced harem- I love Wyatt, Stone, and Lucas each in their own way. This was the first reverse harem series where I became fiercely attached to one of the leading men early on, far more so than the others- but trust in EM. She sold me on them- in part because they let Dakota shine. They support and uplift her. They believe in and follow her- while still being delicious and alpha and protective. I love them all, and it was sweet and sexy to watch Dakota solidify her bonds with each and for them to figure out how to work as a unit (though, if I’m honest, my main guy still owns me a little bit more). And Cole’s role in this is just the icing on the cake- I LOVE LOVE that EM is exploring a deep platonic chemistry with these two- he’s part of her little harem family, but not in the way others are, and I found that dynamic so interesting and rewarding.

Of course, since this is our finale- we get all the suspense and action. I ended up getting more into the treasuring hunting component of this story a bit more than I expected (though its still not “My thing”), but the relationships evolving become more and more the focus as they all try to navigate elevated danger and more shocking revelations. Like all EM series ending books, the finale is dangerous and exciting, and a bit bittersweet. But the hardship along the way is all worth it in the end- and what a wonderful ending it was.

This series was recommended to my by my #cakeeater friend Si.

Another RH book by E. M. Moore. I did not expect it to have connection to the Heights Crew, but we meet Finn and Cole again.
The series was entertaining. And I enjoyed reading all three books one after the others and when I finished the series I got a great surprise: the series was free on Amazon, so on top of getting the books from KU I got them free from Amazon for my book collection. Thank you Mrs. Moore!

What an end for an amazing serie. This serie had me on the tip of chair every book. It was so wonderful. For Dakota her whole live has been a search, a search for the treasure, a search for herself, a search for who she really is, a search for what she wants. It all ends in this book. Be ready to get dragged back in one more time, to fins out all of the answers you have been guessing for. To find out how it all ends. But be aware, you will feel very deeply, you might cry, you wil scream and want to throw the book away. But in the end it is all worth it.

Take one last adventure with Dakota, Stone,Wyatt and Lucas. Find out what the real treasure is. Dive in.

EM Moore brings her readers to St.Clary University for the last time in her latest release, "These Reckless Hearts".

Dakota, Stone, Wyatt and Lucas continue their suspenseful story, searching for the Wilder treasure in this final book of the series. The suspense is HIGH with Lance now taking bigger chances as he has nothing to lose, where Dakota realizes she has the most to lose with her newly created family. And add in the Cole, the gang leader of the Dragons, and this book is explosive!

It is so sad to have Dakota and her RH, coming to an end, but EM Moore does not release her grasp on her readers until the final word...and then some because these characters and these hot boys will not be leaving my mind for some time. EM Moore creates such amazing characters and back stories that you want to hold each of these characters and cringe when they keep getting into terrifying situations. And with flash floods throwing our loved characters through the mountain valley or as bullets fly around a wedding or even on a hike, the suspense of who will be left standing will keep readers wanting to rush to see who survives, but at same time, wishing the book never ends.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND book 3 of the St Clary Univ. by EM Moore. This is a mature reader reverse harem, for its sexual tension as well as scenes. And if you love incredible characters and action packed stories, make sure to add ALL of EM Moore's books to your TBR.

This book was WILD! Gosh... I freakin' loved Dakota and her boys before, but this book definitely added onto that.
These Reckless Hearts is an overal crazy rollercoaster ride where the author goes all in to make her readers experience the pressure the characters are under. The pace is fast, the stakes are high...

I love the different characters in this series, but Dakota takes the lead in this one. She's fiercely protective over her boys and her family's legacy and her devotion to both is definitely put to the test in this book.

Overall, this series was quite different than what I've read by this author so far and I love seeing how versatile she is, while reaffirming her skills in developing an amazing series.
When Cole appeared in book 1, I was so excited. His role was unclear at first, but leave it to EM Moore to develop the story in such a way that you are okay with wherever she is taking it. And I am, I really am! This was an amazing conclusion to a crazy treasure hunt!

What an ending! I’ve loved every EM Moore book I’ve read, and this one was no exception. So much happens in the finale of the Saint Clary’s University series that I can’t tell you about because SPOILERS! But be prepared for a wild and painful ride. Keep in mind this is a series and you MUST read books 1 & 2 before you can read this one.

If you’ve read the other two books in the series, then you know what a cliffhanger This Fearless Girl ended in. You’ll be happy to hear that you don’t have to wait much longer to get ALL the details on the secret Cole had to share with Dakota. I was SHOCKED!

There were lots of highs and lots of lows in this book. And, if I’m being honest, a few EXTREMELY low moments. Wyatt, Stone, Lucas and Dakota had to fight tooth and nail for their happy ending, but it made me appreciate their ending even more because they deserved it. The friendship between the guys was awesome and it made some of the steamier scenes even steamier.

If you’re a fan of reverse harems, then this is a must read series! This book does get a bit darker than the others, but I wouldn’t classify it as a dark romance book. As I’ve said before, I loved the uniqueness of the treasure hunt aspect of this series that made it stand out in a sea of similar books. Definitely give this series a shot if you’re on the fence. You won’t regret it.

These Reckless Hearts is the final book in the Clary University series by E. M. Moore. After the explosive end of the last book the reveals are processed by the characters and everyone has to figure out where to go from there. I like how the relationships have developed but I was also impatient for certain things to happen.

The treasure hunt continues in this novel and Stone's dad tries to control it and reap the rewards. The hints and clues were really interesting and I was impressed with how the author put together a difficult but realistic puzzle. There was exciting danger and heat in this book and it was a satisfying ending. I recommend this series for something a little different in the RH scene and had a good time reading it.

These reckless hearts is the last book in this series and what a book it is. You will be taken on such an emotional, heart stopping ride up into the superstitions. But with so much love shown throughout the book and the great ending I would totally recommend reading.

Dakota is such a wicked strong character which we get to see so much more in this book as you go through all the twists. When Lucas, Stone and Wyatt hide a few things from her she soon put them in their place. We also get to see her learn more from Cole and know why he's so fiercely protective of her.

This book is also filled with many Steamy moments along with so much action between them and Lance. That you will not be able to put this down until your at the freaking awesome ending.
I could say so so so much more about this book but it would lead to spoilers, and this book deserves you picking it up to find out what happens yourself with nothing given away.

I really enjoyed this series and how different it was! I’ve never read any other book with a treasure hunting aspect and thought this was so unique!

These Reckless Hearts is the last book in the St. Clary’s University series and it was a good ending to a great series! EM Moore really knows how to make you hate the villain in her books. I wanted to bring Lance to the top of the mountain and push him off (oops, he tripped).

I love the character evolution throughout this whole series. This wasn’t the type where the guys were already suspicious of the villains intentions, but realized it during the series and you saw them change. And these guys could steal your heart. I also love how Dakota evolved from a timid girl with no one in her corner to a fierce, brave woman. It was great to read their growth.

Hands down, though.. I loved Cole. He could call me baby girl any day. I was still hoping to see him get some action but understood his role. I’m really hoping he gets a series (and maybe even include Magnum as a side character because i still love that guy).

What a ride!

I loved Lucas, Wyatt, Stone and Dakota. There was this particular sceene with Dakota that absolutely rocked my world.

Dakota and the three boys stole my heart. She is the female character which you happen to admire. And most of all, she protects the people that means something to her.

On the other side, boys are the perfect picture of bad boys. But we all know they are so much more than that. Their protective side towars Dakota show us just that.

The emotions it invoked! The danger and the threats!

Devilish!

This series was like a mixture of Indiana Jones and Lara Croft but with more guns, more wise cracks and way more sex. Dakota (FMC) has so many truths uncovered in this last book. The majority of which come from Cole who i had a hard time liking from the beginning but his gruff, rough manner kinda grew on me. Things go up a notch with Dakota and the guys - Stone, Lucas and Wyatt still trying to find the treasure. Which in turn helps them get a lot closer. It was a hell of a ending and i loved every minute reading it

So so good

This book was amazing. Steamy scenes, enough raw emotion to make your heart squeeze, some laughs and of course, seeing the way this great series wraps up.
The only complaint I have is that this was the end of Dakota and the guys' story and I, with my unhealthy attachment to fictional characters, am going to miss them.

Perfect ending!!!

This series was a roller coaster of emotions from the start. The way this author writes always pulls me in and this time was no different! There was so much tension, drama, twists you don't see coming and overall a string oove formed. It couldn't have ended any better. I can't wait to read more if this authors work!!!!

I’ve been waiting for the final installment of the Saint Clary’s University series and this definitely did not disappoint! I adore this harem and so desperately wanted to see them succeed and be happy together.

The cliffhanger at the end of This Fearless Girl was a killer and I found myself tearing through the beginning of the book to get the information we were promised. I have to say I was a little disappointed about the reveal. It helped Cole endear himself to me, but I felt like I could feel Dakota’s pain and loss through the page even though she tried to hide it well.

I really loved the personalities of Dakota, Stone, Wyatt and Lucas and how they developed over the course of the book. Dakota grew into a self-confident woman who wasn’t afraid of her feelings or using the skills Clark instilled in her her whole life to face every adversary in her way. And the guys did everything they could to not only show her what her life could be like with love and family in it, but also make her shine, supporting her and encouraging her to be the best version of herself. Stone’s “white knight” deal got a little old after a while, however everything else about him and his devotion to their formed family was so sweet. Lucas really got the short end of the stick in the previous book and this one, but his fierce dedication to Dakota and his family is absolutely charming. And Wyatt was the bright light through it all, lightening all the situations and still managing to be the support everyone needs throughout everything.

One of my favorite parts of this story was Dakota and Cole’s relationship. Seeing her interact with him in a platonic way was so interesting and was such a contrast to her guys. He really ends up rounding out their new family, acting as the big brother and protector that Dakota never knew she needed. I’d love to see Cole get his happy ending after his appearances here and in the Heights Crew series...I think he deserves it (maybe in the Heights Saga?!).

The action-packed last third of the book kept me on my toes the entire time. I never knew I would get so caught up in the treasure hunt, but I was here for it! I was maybe too invested in it and found myself wanting a lot more from the ultimate resolution. I felt like I missed out on a huge part of the story. But, seeing Lance get what he had coming to him in the end really made up for that disappointment.

I’m secretly hoping for an extended epilogue if this ever turns into a boxed set (fingers crossed!) but, even if that doesn’t happen, I’m happy with the ending and the family they all created for themselves.

What an amazing conclusion to a AMAZING series! So bittersweet to have finished this book. As much as I love a completed series, it also makes me sad, because these characters are leaving me. Dakota, Stone, Wyatt, Lucas and even Cole become so engrained into my heart and brain, I want to know more of what happens in their lives.

These Reckless Hearts picks up where it left off in the previous book, which is the aftermath of Stone's wedding. Except now, there is a even more of a threat because Stone's father, Lance, knows they are close to finding the treasure and that Dakota is more than a business arrangement for the guys. Thank goodness Dakota has Cole. From Cole, we are able to figure out a little more about Dakota as well as seeing more of Cole's agenda involving her. Stone, Wyatt and Lucas are all just amazing for Dakota. They keep lifting her up and keep her strong to believe that she is going to find the treasure and that she is the key to it all. Although, Stone does some major groveling to her to make up for previous situations. I love Wyatt's personality. He is always there to make Dakota smile in the darkest moments. Essentially, I feel like Wyatt is her light <3. Lucas is her constant. Having come from having no family before the guys, he understands how she feels and never expects anything of her. He is just always there. He was the first guy to really connect with her and I think that stayed throughout all 3 books.

Every body needs someone like Cole in their life lol. He is tough, can't be intimidated, and loves the hell out of Dakota because of their past (strictly platonic past lol). He also became someone she could now call family and depend on and for someone like Dakota, who never had family really, it means so much to her.

This book had a lot of action in it, in more ways than one ;) I really loved the treasure hunting aspect of the book (not too many books have that as the story line) and how Dakota was the smart one with all the clues. She was the lead in it, not some totally helpless female who needs a guy to always save her. She protects them like they protect her...equal partners.

I can only hope that maybe one day E.M. Moore will give us an update on these characters to know what happens to them. I want to know if they get their ranch and baby girls that look like her and boys that look like the guys. I need to know more of their future treasure hunting days lol.

These Reckless Hearts truly comes full circle, and Moore does a great job of bringing the trilogy to a close while tightening up all the loose ends and checking in on what we've been looking for:
✓ The fate of Stone's father
✓ Her future and status with the guys
✓ Her relationship with Cole
✓ Who she is and who she wants to be
✓ And... oh yeah! That pesky treasure

Dakota has some great moments to shine, and I truly appreciate that although her understanding of some parts of the world has been limited because of the way her father neglected her, the way he kind of tucked her away from experiences and resources she should've had, I never once felt like Dakota was so out of touch that she was a damsel. There's a really nice balance where even though she's lacking some things, Moore didn't use those to make her weak. Instead, we still get a leading lady who can withstand some tough stuff (no spoilers) and save the butts of the men around her too.

As for the men, I think that they all finish "equal" in the end. Now, I still have my favorites because I'm only human, but Moore successfully gives each man his own redemption/growth arc and moments where all the thirsty, swooning girls will be highlighting proclamations and wishing their men were that suave.

Even though this series was slower to grab me than most of Moore's published queue, I have to say that I'm happy with it and satisfied with the adventure that we've joined our Wild Girl and her men on. For anyone creeping ahead in reviews while you're considering the series, I do heartily encourage you to check it out! We've got gangs, corrupt businessmen, mercenaries, treasure hunting, and some s3xy times to pull you in and make you glad you came ;) I think the Saint Clary's series is one that really has some unique pieces to it, and as a whole, it stands up to the positive reputation that Moore has created for herself as an RH author and in the realm of contemporary fiction.

Wow, now this is how you conclude a fricken phenomenal series 👏🏻 The most unique, gripping, intelligent and vivid story line, developed perfectly over three unputdownable books.

E.M Moore really does write the most original stories that will stand the test of time, and I know this whole world she's created will forever hold a top spot in my heart!

And for the record, my heart is so happy with how everything turned out, but at the moment I'm really not ready to lose the part of me that has been so full and so consumed by my beloved Cole! 🥺

"I have a story to tell you baby girl" <-- This! We finally get the story that answers some of those big questions that I've been pondering since book 1, and seeing this whole new side to Cole?! My poor heart can't cope! As if I didn't already love him enough!

And speaking of things my emotional capacity doesn't cope well with... WYATT! FINALLY! 😍

"Wyatt is the one who could bring a smile to my face. The one to play with, make me feel normal for a little while."

I'm so glad these two finally got to the same place Dakota is with the others, I kinda love that theirs was a slow burn though, because seeing these two fall in love from scratch was so special. This big brute a cowboy with an even bigger sense of humor was so needed in the mix!

Lucas, Stone & Wyatt were the perfect guys for Dakota. She's a female lead who will capture your heart through her determination, selflessness and her capacity to love and heal. As much as she needed her men, her men needed her, and their relationship were so on point!

If you want to read something that is the perfect concoction of Reverse Harem, enemies to lovers, treasure hunting, interlinking and bringing back favourite characters, ALL 👏🏻 THE 👏🏻 STEAM 👏🏻, a cowboy who will make you cry with laughter, a nurturer who is going to make you weak and the knees, and an alpha who's going to make you swoon, then I IMPLORE you to add this to your tbr, hell even pick it up right now and enjoy this epic journey!

My heart is so full with love for Dakota and ALL her guys. As the final book in this series came to an end, well, I experienced emotions from both ends of the emotional spectrum. This book was everything you need it to be, but it didn't stop there, nope, it was so much more as well. The feelings during this book were running high, and very intense. The tension was a living breathing thing. You never knew what was coming from one second to another. There was no rest to be had for any of them. Dakota showed unimaginable strength and determination, I was incredibly proud of her. Stone I did not envy throughout this, he had so much weight on his shoulders, a lesser man would have crumbled. My love for him grew greatly. Wyatt was exactly what Dakota needed when she needed it. I love his humor, his new passion for life, he's come a long way from the first book. My Lucas, oh how I wish I could wrap him up and protect him from the world. He stole my heart first, with his charm, his caring, and his really hot alpha side. Out of all of them, Lucas seems to be E.M.'s favorite victim, the woman is evil I tell you. Ninja, Cole's guy assigned to protect Dakota, was a great addition. He was completely loyal, respectful of Dakota in every way, and just an all around enjoyable character. This brings me to Cole, the gangster that I'm ridiculously crazy about. Cole is fierce as the leader of the Dragons, but you mess with Dakota in any way, and he makes the devil look like a nice guy. He'll even put Dakota's guys in their place if he feels they say or do something wrong. He's extremely protective and I absolutely love it! Yep, I have a huge crush on Cole, I'm not embarrassed to admit it. He really played a major role in this too. My only complaint is that it had to end. I'm sad to have to let them go, but I am grateful for the time I had with them. And the ending, it was absolutely perfect.

~ Until next time, happy reading friends!

The 3rd and final book in the Saint Clary's University series and Erin has knocked it out of the park once again!
The rollercoaster of emotions I had whilst reading this is untrue, I went from panic, to laughing out loud, to having my jaw hitting the floor in shock thinking "Hang on. Wait, what?."
Oh and I cant forget having to fan myself off because I'm telling you, the steam in this book. Oh, lord. All I'm saying is that stream scene. Phwar, that was something!

Dakota has come so far in this series and no matter what is thrown at her she rises above it all and and comes out better than ever. I have loved watching her relationship with the guys flourish and grow. Especially with Cole, the heart to heart they had nearly had me in tears. Stone is still the same old Stone, taking on all responsibility and guilt and not accepting any help. Wyatt, my loveable cowboy. Oh, how you stole my heart! he always try's to make light of situations and make everyone smile no matter what is going on. And lets not forget poor Lucas. Everything just seems to go to shit for that boy and you cant help but love him and want to wrap him up in bubble wrap so he won't get hurt ever again.

When I got to about 80% of the book, all I could think was OMG how is the end so near, yet so much has to happen?! But, of course there was no need to threat. The end was the best possible ending for this series, although I am gutted to have to say goodbye to Dakota and her guys, I am so happy it ended how it did. There is so many twists and turns that I would have never guessed what would happen next. I hope one day we can see how the Wilder-Jacobs are getting on and whether or not they have any little curly haired children running around the place.

Favourite quote ~ "He's already jumped on the loot train. Chuga-chuga-choo-choo. All aboard!"

I really truly hate to say that the final book disappointed me.
Don’t get me wrong. The writing is really good and at times I laughed and I even shed a single tear maybe once or twice.
But there were a lot of things that didn’t go as I think they should’ve or how I wanted them to go.
There was just way too much emphasis on the treasure hunting storyline. And because of that not enough time was spent on the relationships or the romance or the smut even.
And then add the whole bizarre relationship that was Cole into the mix and that just really disappointed me.
The way Cole acted towards her really was like a lover, or the fourth of her harem to be honest. He did not act at all like a guy who was friends with her brother whom she never met.
This man protected her and did everything for her like a true lover would. It was so extremely confusing to me as a reader.
It was written so that I kept waiting for them to come together romantically. But then they kept saying that they only see each other as brother and sister. Which their actions did not reflect. It was just really weird to me. He got to be her hero and almost pretty much her everything. And because of that, it took everything away from her actual mates. It wasn’t fair to her three men, and it put them in the background in a way.
And then the worst part is, we didn’t even get the fucking treasure finding grand finale. Like are you kidding me?
The whole book is based on finding this amazing treasure, and then we don’t even get the moment of them actually finding it. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.
So I was hoping for an amazing romantic epilogue. And yet again we didn’t get that. The epilogue was lame and didn’t give us anything that we were still yearning for that we didn’t get in the last book.

This is the final book in the series, you need to read the previous ones before this one, but let me tell you how explosive Dakota, Stone, Lucas, and Wyatt story is because you haven't read anything like them. The whole series will keep you on your seat, but this ending was more. Dakota will be a character I will remember, she is strong and so resilient. You need to read this book and the entire series. Superb 5-stars!

I really enjoyed this series. Book 3 is written very well. There are numerous moments of intensity and emotion. I enjoyed how the plot was concluded over many chapters and complemented the entire storyline very well. The characters came full circle and realized what was most important after all....

Possible spoilers....
• Dakota learned that the treasure wasn’t everything. Her guys were more important to her than finding a treasure. She realized she wanted to live and make a life for herself and that felt so authentic to me.
• Stone killed me. He tries so hard to please everyone and be the hero. His relationship with his father was tragic. All he wanted was to please him and I’m so glad he realized that it would never happen unless he became someone he didn’t want to be. I was over the “self sacrificing” by the end of the book though
• Lucas....why does he always get hurt? Yes Wyatt got stabbed but come one, Lucas gets put through the ringer. He’s made to seem expendable because he has no family and nothing to his name. He’s such a softy a heart and he’s definitely my favorite.
• Wyatt....I’m glad we were able to get some vulnerability from him and he allowed Dakota into his heart. He completed the family and I enjoyed seeing him heal. I would have liked to have the epilogue end with them all actually at his ranch beginning their lives though.
• Cole warmed me over. I definitely was suspicious of his intentions in book 2 but once we got the explanation for why he came into the picture, I understood. I was guessing something similar to what his story was but I didnt get it quite right. I love how he always saved the day! Everyone needs their own gang leader for a friend right?
