Definitely gritty, definitely some characters who are all about themselves and their desires and their lusts, Connie Lafortune’s LUCAS gives good cause for mothers to caution their daughters about falling for a rockstar! Lucas is the clichéd over-sexed, self-absorbed rock star trying to make it big and it looks like the Sinful Seven have what it takes to go big.

Abby is suddenly becoming his kryptonite, and definitely cramping his harem-loving style. Is she what he needs to finally grow up or will she knock him down a peg or two?

If you are looking for raw, looking for a character that almost makes you want to smack his narcissistic face, you are going to love the Lucas you meet in the beginning. I’m really not sure how I feel about him, even at the end, but Abby is a keeper, the band’s story is great and that is what made this story for me!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Connie Lafortune! This is my honest and voluntary review.

Connie Lafortune's The Sinful Seven is divided into novels, each featuring a different member of the band. The first one features Lucas, who is highly regarded by his band members for his ability to come-up with beautiful lyrics on love which are a stark contrast to his man-whore self.

Lucas is a self-proclaimed sex-addict. Glorified in the first half, Lucas is constantly engaged in sexual activities with all & sundry all throughout. He loves women making it no secret while pompously regarding himself as to be a gift to the women-kind.

- If you don't prefer to be made aware of your hero's past sexual conquests vividly in your romances, this one isn't for you.

Abby on the other hand has already done the deed with Lucas, and here she is pining for the guy who doesn't get back with the same woman more than once. Heck, he doesn't even remember her!

So it made zero sense to me when Lucas is absolutely besotted with the same Abby (he didn't remember boinking with!) when he sees her at the cafe she works. Shockingly, Abby doesn't even hold an ounce of furiousness at the asshole who come back wagging his tail at her.

I couldn't find it in me to like a book with such MCs.

This book was not for me. I understand that everyone has a past, and some men can be a manwhore, but I do not want to read about it for the first half of the book.

Lucas is an up and coming rock star. He self-describes himself with a sex addiction and needs some type sex everyday. The author went into great detail about a threesome that he has very early on in the book...great detail... Lucas and Abby have already hooked up before and Abby cannot get him out of her head. She doesn't care that he is a manwhore, she just wants him.

Abby is a barista at a local coffee shop that Lucas visits. After stopping in one day they hook up again, and that is when Lucas realizes that he has to have her. WTF?!?! He sleeps with different woman everyday, sometimes multiple women in one day and has already hooked up with Abby, but now all the sudden she is the one?!? Yeah no...

This book was just too much for me. I don't understand how Lucas just magically changed his ways or why Abby was all of the sudden the one. Abby was a bit of a push over, she did eventually stop being a booty call and date someone else, but the minute Lucas is back she goes back to him. I am okay with a man being a manwhore, but I don't want to read about him hooking up with all these chicks the day before he is with Abby.

Neither one of them were very likable characters. The last 10% of the book was okay and I enjoyed that part, even with the twist with his family?...Yeah okay...

I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. I am rating this book 3.5 stars. I never thought I would say this but I felt like every page of this book had sex in it. And I'm all for sex in a book the more the better. This one though it just took the spark away for me from Abby and Lucas in my honest opinion. It wasn't a book for me. But maybe it is for you.

I received an ARC, I voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.

Being a huge fan of Connie Lafortune's work, it was no hardship to settle down with her newest fictional hero who just so happens to be great at making tunes among other things, if you know what I mean. I couldn't wait to dive heart first into this naughty little rock band and find out what was so great about them. Connie starts her readers off in the Sinful Seven series with the man who holds the band together...Lucas. It wasn't long until Lucas and his sassy flavor of the month Abby, had me tied up in knots and oh so frustrated. While I could see it was evident that these two needed to be together, they were oblivious to anything but their desire for one another.

I would love to say that I sang praises for Lucas from the first moment I saw him but alas that is far from the truth. He is a womanizer to the tenth degree. Long after I thought he should have succumbed and willingly given his heart to Abby he was digging in his heels and showing his stubborn side. But let's be honest, if he was quick to fall for his lady of distraction, what would be the fun in that? He kept me as well as Abby hanging precariously from the edge and teetering between happiness and a hot mess of emotions for most of the book. But he did redeem himself by the end with his irresistible charm, rockin' bod, naughty moves, and the depth of kindness that he has in his armored heart for everyone around him. I admit that I might have taken awhile to warm up to him because my heart will forever belong to Ryker Steel but I soon found that I have some room left for a bad boy rocker, and judging by the first book in this series, I will be making room for some more in no time.

Abby was a different story. She won me over from the very beginning and she soon became like an old friend and had me wanting to sit down with a cup of coffee and hear all the sordid little details of her and Lucas's hot love affair. She is passionate, brilliant, and wears her heart on her sleeve. A heroine I will not soon forget. I wanted to be her shoulder to cry on when she was feeling low and there to give her a push in the right direction when she was being equally as stubborn as her sexy rock star.

Connie delivers a beginning to her newest fictional world that shows us that the cadence of love cannot be rushed and while it may start out quiet, the crescendo and passion can sweep you away and might be just what you were looking for. I highly recommend Lucas, the first book in the Sinful Seven series for the best seats in the house and a back stage pass to experience every heated push and pull from two headstrong hearts that were destined to be together. I cannot wait to see what Connie has in store for us with this band that melts hearts and raises temperatures wherever they go.

Lucas has a new woman each night, but there’s one that he can’t stop thinking about Abby. They are trying to get an album deal. Lucas has never wanted a relationship or commitment, but he keeps coming back to Abby. He starts to stop wanted to call anyone else, because Abby is the only one on his mind.
Abby has had a crush on Lucas since she can remember, she knows he doesn’t do commitment, but it feels like something more is going on with them. Abby knows the chances of Lucas wanting to have any sort of commitment with her is slim, but she lives in hope she can be the one that chances his ways.

This book was a great one to kick off the series. It’s written in a two person POV. Those are usually hard to follow but the story just flowed. Once you start reading you won’t be able to stop.

Lucas and Abby together is like a soothing balm for the heart and soul. He lives a fast paced life and was a love them and leave them guy. Abby is smart, educated and just trying to find her way. They hooked up and that’s all it was supposed to be. Then it became more and neither of them could let go.

This book is not at all what you think it will be when you start reading it. Lucas likes to sleep around. That much is clear. Until he meets Abby, a woman he cannot get out of his head. Their relationship was wonderful to watch develop as well as the way it changed Lucas. I loved his bandmates and cannot wait for more from this new rock star series!!

Finding love

Lucas is a sex addict while trying to get band recognized. All the girls were one-stands until he meets Abby. She is a coffee barista whom her brother owns. She has so much potential with a college degree she doesn't use.
Abby is madly in love with him, although he doesn't know it. His band finally get a break, which leads them to being famous. Both Lucas and Abby have had a hard time dealing with life and love until they find each other. A great read bringing about turmoil in one's life and working them out.

A bad boy rock star always in the tabloids meets his match with sweet barista Abby. Lucas has a reputation for loving and leaving, never sticking around for long. When he starts to develop feelings for a pretty girl who serves up his favorite coffee, sparks begin to fly, but it's the heartfelt notes that begin to play in his head and heart that really begin to change his perspective. The cocky, arrogant, playboy learns that losing his heart to one girl just might be the best thing that could ever happen.

This author has a way with words and I enjoy her style. Love the fact that the reader gets a dual point of view. There's plenty of angst, kindle burning scenes between the sheets, and a story that definitely has me looking forward to meeting the rest of the band. Hope the books release soon. Can't wait to get my hands on Jet!

In the acknowledgment in the book’s beginning, the author thanks her Lord and Savior for her writing skill. Then she goes on to write some of the filthiest of scenes. Lucas, rockstar hopeful, is a sex addict. His band is on the cusp of making it. He has so so many conquests, multiple partners in a day.
One partner is a barista, Abby. He uses her and turns to others also.
Midway in the book, he realizes he loves Abby. And she accepts him.
Tortured childhood. Great band mates. Their debut headlining concert.
I’ll try book two, not sure I’ll stick it out for the series.

I love a good Rockstar Romance. However, I must say the story of Lucas and Abby has completely floored me! I was prepared to read a typical tale of of a sex-crazed, Bad Boy, aspiring Rockstar that falls for the good-girl-next-door leading heroine. Instead, I encountered characters with unexpected complexities and plenty of depth, which made me fall deeply in love with them and left me with a constant smile.
Connie Lafortune cleverly spun this tale through 1st-person storytelling done by our main characters, making you feel as if you are right beside them as they shared their journeys in following and fulfilling their dreams, their desires, and, most importantly, their hearts. And, there is no doubt that the book is filled with steam-worthy sexiness.
The other characters in the book are wonderful, as well. The relationship between Lucas with his Sinful Seven band mates: Jet, Trevor, and Willow, is amazing. They share a history and belief in each other that left you awe-inspired. Abby's relationship with her friends, Cheryl and Beth, reflected a fun sisterhood, while also reflecting Abby's past misgivings.
Family secrets and drama, along with personal struggles, are also present, so be ready to experience all types of emotions.
Lucas is truly a wonderful start to this series. I can't wait to see what Book 2 (Jet's tale) and beyond will bring.

Lucas = 3.5/4 Stars

Lucas is an up & coming rock star.. the lead singer for his band the Sinful Seven. He's cocky, confident, uses women and addicted to sex... he admits it and tells us that he needs some type sex everyday. Abby, a barista at a local coffee shop, who has hooked up with Lucas... Abby cannot get him out of her head. She knows of his ways & how he is but she still wants him. After another hookup with his favorite barista, there's just something Abby that calms him down and mellows him out... he finds himself changing and wanting to see& share things with her. Your typical story of that man-whore who changes his ways and falls in love!

The first half of the story is about Lucas and his many hookups (and some in detail) and his plight in getting his band noticed & signed. And there's Abby who wants lucas and "watches" him leave with other women. But if he calls, she "runs" to him. *SIGH* Oh girl (as I shake my head). Yes, they get theyre HEA... but they both have some hurdles they must go through before they can be together. But as the story goes on, Abby becomes his rock, she helps bring him out of the darkness. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and undeniable.

This story is entertaining, steamy, witty, and is an all-consuming love story.

So I took a chance on a new author to me because I love Rock Stars and the blurb just called to me. I just love when the manwhore changes his ways and falls in love. Lucas can get girls anytime he wants and boy does he? Man it makes for the some sexy scenes but there's just something Abby that comes him down and mellows him out. She is exactly what he needs in his life. He doesn't realize it of course and just uses her for a booty call and his favorite coffee. He has his music and he's determined to make it on his own with his band and not have help with dear old dad. I had commend him for that. His band is good and they support each other no matter what. They stick together and watch their dreams come true. Abby, is a barista but she's more then that.. She went to college, got her degree but now is stuck. She's is ok with what her and Lucas do but it soon becomes more for them. This was such a great book but my one issue is when Abby gets her dream job, it's mostly about Lucas and doesn't really show what all Abby is doing for them. It was kinda disappointing but I still loved the book and the band!! Can't wait to read book 2 with Jet, I have this feeling it might be a tear jerker..

Can't believe I'm gonna say this since i love Rockstar books but this book just didn't do it for me. It's kinda hard to connect to the two main leads when the majority of the book is about hook ups and booty calls.

Lucas is a straight up man-hoe and he has no problem with that status, which is all well and good. It's to be expected from a rockstar but by the time he takes his head out of his a$$, I'm over it.

Abby was an o.k. character, a Barista with a business degree who lusted after Lucas and didn't really mind being the flavor of the day/week. She was bullied as a teen and i think that always bothered her. Wish we would of seen more of that back story.

For me, it didn't start to get good btwn these two till around 60%. The last 20% is when it got good (at least for me) with the auditions and record deals and the family twist with Lucas.

Although, this wasn't for me, I hope you give this author a try. It was well written, told thru both POV'S.

*Non Spoiler Review*

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Connie LaFortune. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I finally stepped away from some regency romance for a bit of a steamy modern day one. The main characters (MC’s) were interesting, being that the male MC was a sex addict and the female MC was a barista (and who loved what she did). I didn’t expect for the steamy scenes to start so early on in the book, I am of a slow build. Preferably by almost half through a book I am jumping up and down when the MC’s finally get down to business.

This was the complete opposite, lots of hot and heavy scenes and some conversation. Character building was needed, we get to know who each MC is but it felt a little rush. Also the main storyline needed a little more substance. Supporting characters are good, maybe a little more backstory for a couple.

Overall, a steamy read with some interesting interactions.

This series is based on a rock group Sinful Seven the lead singer is Lucas this is his story.Lucas life at a stage in life we’re is having plenty of meaningless sex. He looks on The other member of the band as his family more than. His own. Abby works in her family’s bakery Java Joe’s and the best coffee, she has had a massive crush on Lucas as time goes on his feelings are returned.Their story includes the success of the band and how their relationship develops with a few twist in the story. I have to saythe way the seven sins in included into the book so well written. So worth reading cannot wait for the next book.

This was my first read from this author and I absolutely loved it. I loved the first person point of view of the story. This is a huge deal breaker for me. I will definitely follow this series, giving how this was the first book.
Lucas was a type you would expect: sex, rock and roll God, all wrapped up in one male package. And I loved him. He made me laugh so hard I cried. This story was amazing, fast paced and I read it in one sitting. I cannot wait for the second book.

Lucas likes the ladies, and being the lead singer of the Sinful Seven, he has no problem getting one when he wants. Abby works in Lucas's favorite coffee shop and catches his eye, but what was to be a thing turned into something more. This book has characters who will change over time, the chemistry will cause you kindle to burn and an entertaining story that will have you wanting more with each turn of the page.

What happens when a playboy rocker and the local barista get together?
Lucas is the type of guy that has a different girl every night and or day. He does not want a relationship as he is busy with his band. All he needs is his band a a different flavour of the day. That is until Abby invades his thoughts and his bed.

Abby has wanted Lucas for years and she has hooked up with him a few times. She is the manage/barista at the coffee shop that Lucas loves. She knows he he is a player but she is still drawn to him. Abby is falling deeper and deeper in love with him every time they get together.

Lucas starts to have feelings for her and what happens he acts upon them? Will he change, will she help him change?
Connie has you sitting on the edge of your seat wondering if they will ever get together. The sexual tension is off the charts by way the author writes the dialogue and the story.

I was definitely hooked by the blurb and reeled in by new this new author to me with her book Lucas especially as I love rock star romances. Lucas is the supercharged bad boy, unbelievably hot and sexy he has women falling at his feet, though if he was truthful I am sure if he would say they bored him.

Suddenly he finds himself falling for his local barista Abby, she is the only woman who really interests him both in and out of bed and wow are those bed scenes hot!!! Abby has suffered in the past and consequently is left with little self confidence. Though qualified to be more she likes living in her little rut as a barista/manager at her brother's coffee shop. She is hot for Lucas but never thinks he will take her more seriously than to be his convenient bed warmer.

A wonderfully romantic but realistic story about two people perfectly suited and bringing out the best in each other. Lucas helps Abby to gain confidence, get out of her rut and live her life on her own terms. Abby helps Lucas to make peace with the accidentally revealed truth that totally rocks his world. I am so excited about finding another amazing rocker romance author and I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Fun Read

It kinda started out shaky for me with this one and I think what gets me that I’m not used to is how it reads like the characters are speaking directly to the reader. Once I got more into Lucas and Abby’s story however, I found I couldn’t put it down. Now I’m invested in finding out what happens with the other band members. Overall, pretty good.
