This book was a rollercoaster of every emotion imaginable! And Then There Was You 2 picks right up where we left off in book one. We knew Brittlyn had a few screws loose; we just didn't know how far her crazy went. This heffa was throwing a fit not because Nassir left her for Sevyn but, because she was in love with Sevyn! Jesus be a fence because, I was not ready for that revelation. After getting shot, Sevyn decides all of the drama is too much and she falls back from Nassir to consider whether their relationship is in her best interest. But, after some time apart, Sevyn realized, even with all the drama he comes with, she loved that man too much to give him up. After Linnea's petty azz daddy tells Brycen about the abortion, he breaks things off with her and goes back to Kendra. Really dude?!!! He not only continues to string this poor woman along but, he proposes to her out of spite. Where they do that at?!!! And, Kendra's clueless azz accepts the proposal knowing this man does not love her. Brycen is so hung up on the past that he just can't get over his anger and forgive Linnea. After he has a heart to heart conversation with Nassir's dad, he realizes he needs to grow up and start taking responsibility for his actions. While Brycen was wrong for how he treated Kendra, she was just as at fault as he was. Going into that relationship, Kendra knew Brycen couldn't love her like she wanted. As with most females, she thought she could change Brycen and he would miraculously fall in love with her. So, I appreciated her acknowledging she was just as much at fault as he was. What I didn't like was, Linnea and Brycen were apart for most of the book. They didn't finally get back together until damn near the end of the book. I was happy we got more of Deasia in book two. Honey, that Jaheem was...... whew chile! Y'all get the picture. When Deasia's ex didn't get the message the first time, Jaheem had no problem giving him a repeat azz whoopin'. I bet he won't put his hands on another female. And, Jermaine. Sigh...... How many times can a person rebuff you before you realize they're just not that into you?!!! This dude just could not catch a clue! He kept sniffin' behind Sevyn even after she got pregnant. Nassir finally had to cuss his azz out for him to go away. No one should be that clueless. And Then There Was You 2 was a phenomenal book. It had a ton of moving parts but, they were easy to follow. The author did a great job with the storyline and the character development. You could see the growth and change of each character from book one. This is a great series to emerge yourself in. I highly recommend you read it ASAP!
Also so did a few other couples in this story…I think that one of the things that keeps me returning to Tay’s stories….she gives you a multi cast with a multitude of things happening….and she always provides a resolution….HEA. This is a really good story
I thoroughly enjoyed this series! I loved the character development and I really enjoyed getting to know Deasia’s story more in depth. Jah definitely came through with BDE changing the game for her. I loved how the story wrapped up for everyone. Brycen and Linnea were a fav of mines and I would have liked to see more from them. It was enough but I wanted more. It was a lot of folks in this story that needed to buy a clue… Jason, Kendra, Brittlynn and Jermaine worked my nerves!!! How many ways can someone spell out something in black and white! Tay Mo’nae is definitely one of my favs and I’m really enjoying her catalog of books!
Whew lord, I survived! 🔥🙌🏾book two was so good!!! At the end of book one, I had so many questions and they were all answered. Nasir and Sevyn’s relationship wasn’t perfect but they worked hard. The situation with Brittlynn was taken care of; she was crazy for sure!! I think Brycen had the biggest glow-up. I loved how he took ownership of his mistakes and got the help he needed. Linnea’s parents were the worst.. like she seemed like a genuine soul and her dad still tried to run her life. Things with Linnea and Brycen happened the way that they should have. I’m glad we got to see more of Deasia’s story; her ex Jason was a horrible person and although she was young she knew her worth. I loved to see her relationship with Jaheem develop the way that it did. The author did a great job with the character and story development! Every main character dealt with their issues and grew from each situation. This book had a ton of moving parts but it was flawlessly executed and I’m a tad bit sad to see this crew go!!! Great job on this series!! ❤️
So many twist and turns but I was pretty sure the was going to play out how it seemed. Syven was just so mfn gullible and it pissed me off. Nasir Nasir Nasir!! The reason for this all!!!
Really good finale. This was a bomb series I loved all of the characters and how they grew and dealt with their issues. I loved that Jah’s BM was cool and they were able to be friendly and co-parent especially because you don’t see that too often. Would definitely recommend this series. Great book!
I really enjoyed this series from beginning to end! The way Sevyn & Nasir met was unconventional to say the least! I loved getting to see the way things played out with the two of them & Brittlyn! I was nottt expecting things to take a turn the way they did!
Lannea & Bryson…. These two dragged me by my edges from the first chapter to the last 😭 The games they played with each other & the back & forth between them had me ready to toss my kindle across the room 🤣 but the growth we got to see in both of them made it worth it!
Deasia had so much going on!! Touching on the subject of domestic violence & the way situations can escalate when you hide things from your friends & family is so important!!
Overall this was a really good series!! Be prepared to go on a wild ride!!
After the ending of book 1, I jumped into this immediately and I’m so happy that I did! We are thrown into the scene the previous book left us on and we are right back in it. This was less messy with an added element of suspense which I thought was a nice change of pace.
I enjoyed the multi POV format much like the first book where we got to know and understand each individual’s thoughts and actions. I really loved seeing the growth in here for many of the characters and it was so nice seeing how their stories played out with getting their HEA’s.
I definitely plan on reading more from this author because I was hooked from the start & couldn’t stop reading!
This finale was soo good. I loved everybody’s journey to love along with the lessons learned. The growth was it for me for every couple and once again this author wrote the hell outta this series!!
This was a reread and wow book 2 gives me the completion I was looking for all over again! Definitely here for book2 over book 1 but overall loved this series!
Whew! Book one left us on a cliffhanger, but book two wasted no time diving right into the action.😎
Sevyn and Nasir never expected to fall for each other—but sometimes, feelings have a mind of their own. Their connection deepened quickly, but not everyone was happy about it. Brittlyn’s (the ex girlfriend) reaction took a dark turn as she began stalking Sevyn, and the reason behind it caught me completely off guard. Still, that didn’t stop Sevyn and Nasir’s love from growing stronger.
Meanwhile, Linnea and Brycen were caught in a push-and-pull dynamic. Their shared past created tension, but the big question was: could they truly move forward together?
I really enjoyed how both couples took the time to figure out what they wanted from their relationships and worked toward mutual understanding. This series had me hooked from book one, and I couldn’t wait to see how everything would unfold. A great read with plenty of spice!🌶️
Whew! This series was just what I needed. Tay did her thing with this one, being focused on three couples kept the pace going. Just when I would get bored with one couple something new happened with another.
Because honestly after Brittlyn was handled- I was no longer interested in Nasir and Lil baby. But Brycen and Linnea and Deasia and Jah kept my interest.
The person with the most growth was Brycen, I was rooting for him. His history was more colored than the rest; although Linnea’s family was horrible. Their horribleness differed from him.
I was happy with how everything ended. And even happier that the author didn’t add unnecessary drama involving Jermaine. We didn’t need any other foolishness, but for a moment there. I thought she would turn his inability to catch a hint into some stalker mess. I was so glad she didn’t.
This was a really good read and I’m so glad I bypassed the audio.
In the second book, I found myself more invested in Linnea and Brycen and rooting for them. I loved everything about their story and their journey back to each other. It was so pure and you couldn’t help but be happy for them.
I like Nasir and Sevyn but good grief Sevyn worked my nerves so bad. She was stubborn and naive and that combination worked my nerves in ways I didn’t know it would. I liked watching Nasir’s growth and felt like Sevyn didn’t deserve him at times.
I made it to part 2 and about 68% and that is with me skipping pages and chapters. This was just too boring nothing really happened except once at least with the main characters. It was a cute love story I guess but it’s just a lot of dialogue and no action. I skipped through the first book and tried to with the second but I can’t really get through it.
It was a good ending but to me most of it drug on a bit too much. I was over the moon when Linnea took up for herself and loves when Keisha threw the wine. Enjoyed it but it was just okay. I still will be enjoying the author
I loved both of these books! Love Nasir as the MMC! He showed what a real man would do for the one he loves! His actions spoke bby! He didn’t play about Sevyn at all! Loved every bit of this book! Would recommend to anybody to read it
Sevyn was working my last nerve with her insecurities in book 2! But, I get it. She was young, sheltered, and a bit naive. Sevyn was not used to being with or attracting the type of man Nasir is. No matter how much Nasir tried to tell and show her that she was IT for him, it was difficult for her to turn those insecurities off; especially, considering how their relationship started. I loved how they both changed each other for the better and how they supported and encouraged one another; especially, Nasir’s support and encouragement of Sevyn. They had a beautiful relationship despite the outside forces that tried to tear them apart and I admired Sevyn’s independent nature and her strength not to give up on her plans/goals even though speed bumps were placed in front of her. Cheers to their HEA.
I was proud of Brycen finally recognizing how his childhood trauma influenced his behavior and sought help in order to heal those wounds. Therapy is such a taboo topic in the black community and especially with black men so I appreciated seeing him take the initiative to go seek therapy on his own. That healing shaped him to be a healthier and better version of himself, build emotional intelligence, and become the man that Linnea needed. It’s always difficult to see a couple that you know should be together have to separate, but sometimes it is necessary for true healing to take place. That healing and growth made Brycen and Linnea’s relationship healthier and stronger and I was happy for them. And I was so happy to see Linnea finally stand up for herself when it came to her father.
Deasia’s situation with her boyfriend, Jason was unfortunate, but all too common. I am glad she got out before it was too late and found what she needed in the end.
There was so much growth and development amongst all of the characters in this story and I was here for it. All in all, I enjoyed this read, but had to give it 4.5 stars across the board due to the many misspellings, incorrectly placed punctuations, incorrect word usage (this, especially, would interrupt the flow of reading for me because I was busy trying to figure out what word the author wanted to use), and other formatting issues peppered throughout the book.
Book two was a great conclusion to Nasir & Seyvn, Linnea & Brycen and Deasia’s story. I loved the character development in this series. Nasir way a totally different man from the Nasir in book one. He was so committed to Sevyn and it was so cute. Sevyn was still a bit naive but she was definitely a different woman in this book, I was happy she finally got the family she was missing. Her and Nasir relationship development was great as well. They couldn’t seem to let each other go even when Sevyn tried so hard to put her foot down and not be with him Nasir was not going.
Poor Brycen was hurting so much in this book and was making all the wrong decisions. I felt so bad for poor Kendra but when a man tells you something believe him. Sis pushed too hard when she knew he couldn’t love her like she needed and got her heart broke in the end. I love that he got reality checks and went to seek help to let go of his pain. Linnea and her daddy got on my nerves I was so glad when sis finally stood up to her parents. Brycen and Linnea had the perfect ending to their damaged relationship. Loved Deasia and Jaheem although I would have loved a little more on them they were cute though.
This was such an engaging read, book one left off with a cliffhanger so I was glad I was able to jump right into book two cause ya girl is very impatient. Tay Mo’nae is a new to me author that I am really loving and I will definitely be reading through her catalog sometime soon.
There was so much in this story as it gave us multiple perspectives. Some authors struggle in delivery but not this one. You were able to see character development and it felt genuine even though two problems disappeared at the hand of one character didn't necessarily feel believable. Yet the story continued and it gave us what we were hoping at the end. I will definitely read more from this author as this series was my first reads. Looking to see this author's other works.
.I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Book 1 was from the perspective of 4 people and Book 2 added on more one person, Nasir’s younger sister. I’ve read some books where things get confusing when too many characters are involved but Ms. Tay Mo’nae executed this flawlessly. I was so wrapped up in everyone’s stories. These women in the books were strong. I get tired of the same weak minded or damsels in distress. Linnea and Sevyn were strong female lead characters. They didn’t let anything interfere with their grind. Nasir was bae throughout . ❤️ Brycen got on my nerves at first but I forgave in him the end 😂😂 I really loved Deaisa and boxer Bae. You guys have to check this one out! Highly recommended!
