Surviving reality TV fame, a deployment with the military and countless challenges throughout his life and career, Author, Speaker, Television Personality and Veteran Mike Johnson is making the love he wants and broadcasting big ideas on life, love and learning to overcome by discovering the power within. With his focus on self-love, the breakout star from ABC’s “The Bachelorette” is transforming audiences by showcasing his global influence through brave storytelling and big smiles.

When he was selected to join season 15 of ABC’s long-running, smash-hit reality dating series, “The Bachelorette,” Johnson was met with conflicting emotions: he welcomed the opportunity to possibly find true love, however, he knew it could push him to expose pieces of his broken past and painful experiences on a national stage. Johnson quickly emerged as a series frontrunner and fan-favorite, as audiences fell in love with his kind heart, joyous demeanor, charm and million-dollar smile. Once he left the franchise Johnson was compelled to take a deeper dive into his past and now writes and speaks on how the ability to overcome stems from the power within.

For nearly a decade Johnson has been an active mentor and spokesperson with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He is also an avid traveler and has been to more than 30 countries– his deep understanding of other cultures and compassion for all people is central to his work as a writer, speaker and entrepreneurial powerhouse.

Quick read and has a lot of great information about loving yourself first. Mike shares details of his life and how he has been able to fight through tough times to fully embrace how important self love is. I enjoyed Mike on the bachelorette so I wanted to give this a read and it didn’t disappoint.

I think that Mike is a talented writer and would probably make a great motivational speaker. I really enjoyed the few anecdotes about his life as well and if he wrote a true memoir I’d be into it. But I wanted more about his life and less generic self help advice. Which is my fault because it’s a self help book, but still. Heads up for Bachelor fans, he mentions the show briefly at the end of the book!

Goodreads, please note the author you have listed is not the correct Mike Johnson.

Loved this short, but poignant read on loving yourself. Knowing who wrote it made me enjoy it more since I could hear him reading it to me and I could feel his energy. Perfect book for the start of a better year!

Mike Johnson is a really nice guy and all but... his writing... is... kinda... intangible though simple. I spent the whole book being like what in the sam hell is this guy talking about. I do not feel more loving or self-accepting after reading. I hope he never reads this review.

Made some good points but very rambling and didn't tell a coherent narrative

I'm currently on a journey toward "self love" I have learned a lot about myself in the past 2 years. This book opened my eyes even more. It helped me evaluate my whole mind, heart, and soul. In this book Mike gives us pieces of him, pieces of his story. He helped me to restart my journaling, which some I become distant to. I urge anyone who is looking to get to know the person in the mirror just a little bit better and to love oneself without judgement or limits to read this book. I not only enjoyed it, It was exactly what I needed. Thanks Mike for letting us into your world and helping me to embrace mine.❤

I saw him on the bachelor snd thought I should read it.
As I am much older, some of this advice did not apply to me but definitely agree with most of it, and would have loved to read something similar when I was in my twenties.
We all need these mantras and reminders.
Relationships and Love can be challenging at any age.
