When Sun Lin’s old school friend Mack Remington shows up unexpectedly, she’s both surprised and suspicious. But when she learns he was attacked by members of the North Korean Regime, and the possibility they are seeking revenge against her mother for defecting years ago, Sun can’t ignore Mack’s dire warning. Unfortunately, she’s in the middle of a case, searching for a suspected North Korean nuclear bomb that has allegedly been smuggled into the city. She also doesn’t know where her mother is, to warn her. Despite her secret childhood crush on Mack, she reluctantly accepts his help.
Macklin Remington has always considered Sun a friend, they’d bonded during the years of Mensa boarding school. Seeing and working with her now, brings his protective feelings to the surface, along with an intense longing for something more. Working together, they fight assailants around every corner, while trying to track a small nuclear bomb, targeted for the upcoming presidential inauguration. The clock is ticking. Can Mack keep Sun alive, find the bomb, and convince her how much he loves her, before it’s too late?
Audacious. The perfect word to describe this book. Ms Scott finishes her "Security Specialists, Inc." series with a book that would make Tom Clancy cheer. Two exceptionally brilliant children are brought together at a Mensa school in Geneva, Switzerland. They become best friends, and continually challenge each other mentally and physically. Separated after boarding school, Sun Lin as joined Security Specialists, Inc., and Mack is now working for the NSA. Being pulled in to work together to investigate a suspected nuclear suitcase bomb plot to destroy the incoming US presidential inauguration, they employ their brains, and martial arts expertise to fight off enemy operatives who are very determined to kill them. Now throw in Sun's mother, whom Sun hasn't seen in years, and the plot thickens. Excitement reigns, and the plot becomes even more extraordinary. The finale is very close to mind blowing. I loved the banter between Sun and Mack, and they were really cool in the way each had the other's back. Oh, did I mention there is a growing romance between them? Of course there is. While the book can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend that you read the first two books in the series. You'll want to anyway.
From the very start, this series has been everything you would want in political suspense romance! I didn't even think I really liked that genre until I read this series and now, I'm hooked! This author did a ton of research and it shows. A lot of intricate scenes in this book of martial arts. I can now envision how lethal it is! Supposedly there is a small nuclear bomb somewhere in Washington DC that will be set off during the presidential inauguration and it becomes the responsibility of Sun & Mack to find it. They don't even know if there IS a bomb, but they don't want to make a mistake! Add in Sun's mother who is a North Korean defector and spy, plus Jarek who is Sun's mother's former sweetheart and hasn't seen her for many years but he's suddenly being shot at and followed! The action in this book is non-stop and trying to figure out if it's the Russians or the North Koreans who have the bomb is going to take every skill Sun and Mack have as they race the clock before the inauguration begins!
In the final book of the Security Specialists series, we find Sun Yin-Li and old Mensa friend Mack tracking down a nuke that is set to demolish DC & kill the president on inauguration day. Gangs of Russians & also North Koreans continually attack them & try to derail them. Complications arise when Sun's parents show up & get attacked by the unhinged heir to the NK throne. I have been surprised by the author's use of actual current day foreign leaders, but it certainly lends authenticity to the stories. I've become a fan of Laura Scott and will be looking for other books by her.
Target For Revenge drew me in from the start when Sun encounters Mack, whom she had gone to boarding school with. Mack was attacked by members from the North Korean regimen who are looking for Sun's mother and Sun. Sun's mother has secrets of her own and does her best to protect her daughter. I recommend reading Target For Revenge as it's suspenseful and action packed.
It was a good storyline. It took me a bit to get into reading it consistently, but once I was able to really get into reading it, I truly enjoyed the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Christian action books. I have enjoyed reading the 3 books of Security Specialist, Inc. Tammy
Wow! This book just kept moving. I couldn't put it down. Ms. Scott really does know how to tell a story. This series just keeps getting better and better. The sexual tension between Sun and Max is done in such a tasteful manner. You will love this book, a fast dynamic read. Thank you, Ms. Scott!

Target for Revenge has so many twists and turns it’s impossible to determine who the villain is or what his motive is. Couple that excitement and suspense with the romantic relationship developing and a spiritual thread makes for very entertaining reading.
Great suspense, with a love story intertwined in it. I had a hard time putting the book down just like the others in this series. I can't wait to read book 4.
I enjoyed this book! I read most of it in one day! It was well written and had strong characters that you will definitely love. I definitely recommend this book!
