3.5 May Dante burn in hell. Loved the return to a familiar setting and we got to meet some new characters. I don't really like Tomio as a romantic option for Saxony but oh well. Learning about a whole subterranean city right under Naples was such a cool aspect of the book.
The events of Book 3 are barely mentioned, just like Ryan was barely mentioned in Book 3. I expected Saxony to be keeping in contact with Eira, proving that book 3 serves little purpose for the series except to introduce a new love interest.
I feel like so much happened in this book while nothing was resolved. The ending left me aching for all those involved. Saxony's story had been so engrossing and entertaining thus far. I need the next book so that I can read the conclusion!
This rollercoaster ride is simply awesome and i for one do not wanna get off! Schools out for the summer but no rest for Saxony our kick ass female mc! Full of action there are twists and turns, mystery, romance, mythology and magic all set in an incredible world designed by this author, a world that will suck you in and you will not want to leave and I can’t believe there’s only one book left!
gifted audio for a review in audio format given. i like this narrator, she narrates solo and fits the storyline of this series well. 3.5/4 star listen YA series with a very small amount of pda in this one. this book finds our heroine in a tricky situation caused by her past aand the fire that made her a mage in the first place.
love interest has changed, live isnt going easy. All three main boys have their part in the story. Cant wait to hear how the story concludes in the next installment.
Legends of Fire (Arcturus Academy #4), my thirty-first read from author A.L. Knorr. Extremely well written, the characters, even the minor ones, are well developed with an attention-grabbing storyline. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make the reader get invested in the characters and thereby the story. Over the course of the author's thirty-plus books I've read Knorr has mastered this craft. I’ll be reading more from this author and can't wait for Source Fire (Arcturus Academy #5)! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Such a fun series! Can't wait to start the finale! Parents: Based on pervious books this is acceptable for 16+, however the sexual content in this book was clean enough to be PG Language: pg-13 Violence: PG - kidnapping and some mage fights but not overly graphic Sexual content: PG - Mostly the kissing verity in this book, cleaner then pervious books
The story continues to be really fast paced, and is still keeping me on the edge of my seat! This one has more on the line with mages losing their fire and the Don making Saxony fulfill her debt to him. There's a different and more exciting tension that builds up in this one and I don't want to spoil anything so I will keep this brief. This is one of my favorite series and I can't wait to see what happens in the final book! These should be read in order but the author does recap just enough that I in this book at least I don't think the reader will be too lost if they haven't the previous books.... but then you would miss out on all the fun so I wouldn't recommend it.
Narrator: (4.5 stars) well executed differentiations, accents and overall acting was great
—I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
"Legends of Fire" is laid out in 3 sections, as well as chapters. All fantastic. Section i had me sick with worry for the fate of fire mages worldwide, and the fulfilment of Saxony's debt.
I loved section ii - Subterranean Subterfuge" - learning about a whole subterranean city right under Naples. It had me rushing to my search engine to see photos of this incredible place I knew nothing about (Ms Knorr educates as well as entertains). And then there's Janet... .
"The Sting" (section iii) had my heart racing with anticipation and dread for what was to befall Saxony, Tomio, and the other protagonists. And I have to admit that I was hoping for different outcomes for Nero and Janet. But hey, that's what the next book "Source Fire" will address, so all is brilliant. Wonderful descriptive prose of the interior of volcanos, and the lava tube air vents.
Loving the Arcturus Academy series. It's going to be a sad day when I close the cover on the final installment.
This was an amazing exciting action packed book that I have loved hearing on audiobook. The narrator brings the crew of characters to life and makes them all special and rememberable. The main character Saxony is so well done in this series but I loved her in this book and you really see her struggle with all that life can throw at a person and her come through it. This book has such a wonderful world building with strong written characters it makes the book enjoyable. The story flows well and is so enjoyable. Nice pace to the action to keep you interested. I can’t wait to see how this finishes up in the next book. Great series and I highly recommend this book and the series. Make sure you read/listen in order. I received this as a promotional credit and this is my honest review.
Another A.L. Knorr book, another chance of falling in love with her fantasy elemental universe. I loved finding out where Saxony's adventures take her. I have no idea how to mention any details of said adventures without giving spoilers, so I'll stick to a bear minimum: as beautiful as Italy is, I'm pretty sure no visit there will go smoothly for our heroine. There are twists after twists in this story and by the end you can't believe everything that's happened. There isn't a cliffhanger at the end, in the sense that the twists are resolved, but the big arc of the story (which spans all 5 books) will only be solved in the next volume. Which I can't wait for!
What an awesome fourth book in an awe-inspiring series. I've read every one of A.L. Knorr's books and she is one of the best authors I've ever read. This book is filled with action and suspense and, of course, MAGIC. Do not miss this series and if the author is reading this, I would LOVE to see this series be extended. After all, Saxony still has more left to learn and what will happen to Dante now? Will he attend Arcturus Academy? What happens to Gage now? It just doesn't seem like you can wrap it all up in just one book. Just my two cents. Keep churning out the awesome stories, A.L.!
This book was definitely better and faster paced than the previous books. Gage and Saxony make it to Italy and are searching for Dante to fulfill the debt Saxony has with Enzo. When Saxony meets up with Dante, things go sideways when Gage steps in. Dante obviously thinks that Gage is Ryan. Gage ends up kidnapped and it's a race against time to find him and Nero. Meanwhile, more fires are going out all over the world. Tomio comes to Italy to help Saxony. Their relationship grows but still doesn't feel right to me. 🤷♀️ Looking forward to the conclusion of Saxony's story in the next book.

Abby is a great story teller. She infuses her books with such great details. I love the adventures and hints of romance in her books. Saxony is still feeling loss with her breakup with Gage. Yet Antonio and her obviously have chemistry. But all of that really doesn’t mean much when Saxony debt to Enzo has been called in. Not only that but Mage’s are losing their fires in astounding numbers. So much is going on in this book. Book five is already out just not yet in audio. I’m not sure I can wait for the audio version. I may have to find time to sit and read it. I do really like the narrator for this weird. She does a fabulous job.
What a story. Gage sweet Gage, my heart broke for him. He is so willing to help, regardless of the situation. Tomio learns what is happening and helps Saxony again in this book. How Ryan plays into the story is interesting. There was definitely a lot going on in this book, but so much still left unresolved. My favorite part was the subterranean city right under Naples. The book twists and turns, mystery, and romance, to keep you engaged in the plot. The character development in this book drew me in, so much more to still learn about everyone. I am loving this series and can not wait for the ending.
Ms Knorr turns up the heat! Have you ever wondered what it would be like ‘inside’ a volcano? Well, Ms Knorr spells it out for you in vivid detail. Inside Mt. Vesuvius no less. Ya gotta see it ta believe it. Ms Knorr has quite an imagination as evidenced here. Saxony and Tomio partner up in an effort to save Gage from losing his fire. Many magi have already lost their fire and their lights are being snuffed out besides. There are some pretty intense moments and some sad moments but no matter how you read it you will definitely be turning those pages nonstop until the end.
Action, adventure, magic, romance, thrills, twists and turns. Theses (along with excellent writing, addictive plots and perfectly crafted characters) have been the hallmarks of A.L. Knorr’s Arcturus Academy series to date, and the latest installment of this superb Young Adult fantasy, Legends of Fire (Book 4), keeps the fire going perfectly. I love Saxony, the kick-a** heroine lead of this series, and love this book as I do the earlier ones in the series. Both that book and the series are highly recommended.
What I liked the most was Saxony found out from her friends who she could count on. Gage stopped everything and flew to Naples to help her. When Gage was kidnapped, Tomio stopped✋️everything and flew to Naples to help Saxony out. Also she got ahold of Ryan and let him know that his twin brother was kidnapped and would be used as a way for Dante to steal Gage's fire🔥. Also Dante didn't care if Gage died. It also came into the light alot of the magis were loosing their flame that made them magis.
I think out of all the trilogies from the elemental origins universe, this has to be the best one! I loved the main character and I just could not put this book down because of all the suspense. A.L Knorr's realistic writing never fails to amaze me. I recommend this book with all my heart, especially for those who love puzzling mysteries and a slice of action! <3 Good job to my favourite author, I can't wait for the 5th book to come out!
The saga continues with a whirlwind trip to Italy, the action starting before we even settle in and continues right through; leaving us hanging and anxiously awaiting the final instalment. Be prepared to be whisked off and dropped right into the heart of Napoli; as Knorr’s knack for painting with words, leaves each sentence dripping in description, deliciously revealing the images from her mind with perfect clarity.
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box. (Audible)
With supernaturals Loosing their fire abilities, the world for these people is vastly changed. However, .. is having to fulfil a contract that she had made earlier in her life, and now it has fallen due for fulfilment. This takes her to Naples, which seems to be where the mischief makers are living. What happens there is mind boggling!
This story's sizzling hot! Saxony, Tomio, Gage, and even Ryan are burning up Naples in this fourth installment of this series. Twists. Turns. New love. Old love. And then there is the oath made to a mob boss! Can Saxony deliver Dante back to his father in one piece? You must read this for yourself, because refuse to give away. An epic penultimate in this series!
There are series that makes you believe that nothing can surprise you, but suddenly a whirlwind occurs and there you are in the middle of events you weren’t expecting. This is a welcomed knockout, this is what all reader expects. Definetely, this is the feeling at the end of this volume and this is so rewarding and can only thank A.L. Knorr for gifting us with that.
I Love Saxony and admire her fortitude in all the trials and challenges, she has a good heart. Her story is well written and takes you off the couch to be by her side. This writers Paranormal girls in this and sister series are my favorites and can easily be reread. Recommended to all fantasy readers.
Quick review as moving straight to the next book!!! Loving this entire series.... And this tale is just heating up (if you'll pardon the pun lol) A. L. KNORR is one of my favourites atm and I'm not a YA more a MAW 😉 I read this book as part of my Kindle Unlimited subscription (free book but I pay £7.99 a month for the subscription)
The elemental series is one of my favorite series of all times. Saxony is my favorite of the girls and I can't wait to see how this series plays out in the final book. I am eager to see the relationships and where they end and what happens with the fire magi in general. As always with Marni the narraration is wonderful.
This one is a bit more fast-paced than the previous three, at least at the start, though ultimately it felt a bit longer than it needed to be. Overall though, it packs plenty of action and excitement.
Well done. 3.5 stars. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Audio: 5 stars on all fronts: performance, production, sound-quality, voice, etc. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Thus was a great continuation fir this series. It deals strongly with how there are consequences for a person’s decisions. Plus I got to read about a side of Italy I’d never heard of before. Highly recommend it
This book has a lot of twists and turns in it. I thought it was fairly predictable once the situation became obvious. The author takes the time to remind us that they are teens facing adults problems. All in all, a good action filled book.
Sax is forced to honor a debt. She conquers her fears and doubts to save Gage. She is also trying to see if she loves Gage or Tommio. Will the mage mark win, or does the ordinary?
Legends of Fire: A Young Adult Fantasy (Arcturus Academy Book 4)
OMG 😱!!! This book is full of so many twists and turns as Saxony and Tomio race to find Gage and and fulfill Saxony’s debt to Enzo. I can’t wait for the next book.. definitely recommend this book
