Harmon and Huck's story

description

I am a proud fan of JG’S books & I absolutely love her Sexy alpha biker male stories. What a Phenomenal start to her spin off series… I already knew that I liked Huck’s style & personality from glimpse of him we seen in the last few Henchmen’s books … in this book I completely fell hard for this man

ღ Harmon-

You know how that old money goes if they don't feel like you're worthy to be in the Inner Circle you will always be on the outside… Did I mention that her step father comes from of one of the wealthiest families on the East coast.

And that's exactly how Harmon lived in the shadows of her step brother, only thing is after that fateful accident so many years ago things only got worse within the family towards her so that's where her decision came in to move Out to The Golden Glades in middle of nowhere
Only downfall to that decision is she moved to a house next to a biker clubhouse

This blue hair bombshell gamer had to make a living, & she couldn’t do that with those damn bikers blaring their music nonstop … So enough is enough

than walks in Ramona to save the day…. In the beginning Harmony didn’t know what to think of her, but by the end of this book Harmony will be thanking Ramona for all that she has done

In one night, she had more excitement than she’d had in over a decade.

As for Huck, at first all I could think of is that Huck is just sex on stick in my eyes… with every turn of the page he made me fall in L💕ve ツ with him more & more. For a sexy alpha biker, this man has heart of gold & I believe you’ll fall hard for him as well as I did! The things this man did for Harmon will leave you panting

Overall, you know that JG will give us complex characters, fantastic back stories & she’ll give a exciting & truly satisfying story
💖 Hope you enjoy this read 💖

⬇Always remember⬇

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.

This was a good beginning for a new MC series but didn't really hit the mark for me.
I guess I would describe this as a mild MC type story (which is always a possibility with a JG book), but that's not the reason I gave it 3 stars.
I just felt like it didn't reach the potential it had. The stakes weren't high enough, the love/lust was very insta - which again, I didn't mind - but I just felt like it wasn't consolidated throughout the story. Overall it was a good pass time but nothing more.

I'm still gonna try the next book in the series (depending which member it's gonna be about).

Doesn’t matter where Jessica Gadziala calls home base for her motorcycle clubs, she still nails the bad boys with good hearts and the amazing heroines who know suffering, but are stronger for it.

This time out, her lead off book for the Florida-based Golden Glades Henchmen series, HUCK brings two souls together with the perfect amount of mayhem and a sizzling dash of romance!

Well-defined characters are a trademark of Ms. Gadziala and one cannot help but become attached to each and every one. Lots of humor, danger and turmoil bring this series alive with fresh characters, new surroundings and “made for each other” pairings!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Jessica Gadziala! This is my honest and voluntary review.

Huck by Jessica Gadziala

"It's amazing that the human species hasn't died out," he said, shaking his head at me. "When the women are this obvious, and the men are this clueless." 🤭
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's no a secret that I love Jessica's books.
She writes these kinds of books that touch your heart and soul.
Her characters are always alpha men and badass women, that force the men to their knees before giving them free rein to their feelings.

This book is the first book in the Golden Glades Henchmen MC.
An amazing love story between a MC president Huck and his beautiful, nerdy professional online game played neighbour, Harmon.
This is a action-packed, gripping, funny and emotional story packed with a lot of drama and complications.
I love every second of this book.

Huck who has more problems in establishing his new club in the area and has enough trouble with his competitors than he would like, meets Harmon who is struggling with her health conditions and terrible family, who rarely leaves her home.

This mismatched couple shouldn't work together, but they are so amazing together that I didn't want this book to end.

I recommend this beautiful love story to... yeah everyone 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am truly amazed at the female heroines this author creates. She creates women who suffer from some type of emotional/physical/mental issue and in spite of those issues show they are still strong women. Harmon not only had a unique name, she also had a unique job along with suffering PTSD from a car accident as a child that prevented her from ever riding in a car again and she suffered from seizures from the TBI. But never once did you see her as a weak woman. I think its a true testament to the author that can accomplish that.

This was the first book in her new MC series which is a spin off of her very popular Henchmen MC series. Golden Glades Henchmen moves the story and action to Florida where Huck is the president of that chapters MC. We'd met him before in West's book along with Colson's book so we (as readers) were more than ready for his story and it did not disappoint.

Very strong start to a new series. I really love Huck and Harmon individually, as well as together as a couple. This story has great action, storytelling and characters. I love how their relationship developes and feels genuine. Great addition to the MC worlds that JG creates.

Spoilers ahead 2.5*

We begin the new group of Henchmen with Huck, former car chopper, brother to Gus and now President of this new charter of arms dealers. Huck and his crew have been playing loud music and hosting parties as a cover for their activities. All's well until he accidentally meets his new neighbor for the first time and realizes she needs some quiet time. Pretty soon a drive by leads to Harmon getting caught up in Huck's world opening the door to something he swore he didn't want...... Settling down with someone.
Harmon is a gamer who makes money from filming, she's recently uprooted her life to live next door to the mc. Because of childhood incidents Harmon suffers from seizures and car phobia. She is content with her very quiet life.....until a chance encounter with a rough biker changed her life forever.

*********
Ok the bits of actual convos and interactions as well as the lovely epilogues were my favorite. I've wanted Huck's story since I first met him and I mostly enjoyed it.

I did however unfortunately have some issues-
So much time spent in the mcs heads!!this is one of the most frustrating and annoying things about this author's books
Please stop having supposedly intelligent men act as incompetents. Huck and the guys were basically headless chickens trying to find the shooter and rushed recklessly out without getting the correct info about Harmon's kidnapping! Why is it badass and intelligence never coexist in the mcs??? I'm tired of this, I'm hopeful this doesn't turn into another Reign and his men situation where the were basically up against the same enemy for almost the entire series! Switch things up!
Kill the phrase - "with that being said"- it's in every book!

I'll always say that this author is talented, there are moments in her stories that are solid gold but it's also becoming unfortunately formulaic.

No cheating
Couple mentions of bpth their pasts with the H having been with a couple bunnies and the h having horrible taste in men
I'm not sure if while the parties were going on he was sleeping with anyone, she was next door but they hadn't" met" yet
h was kidnapped and assaulted

I’ve read all the Henchmen books plus the next generation. So Golden Glades seems the obvious choice. I liked Huck already so this seemed like a win win.

Harmon was an interesting character and it was looking good.

Now I enjoyed this one, the problem was I didn’t love it and I really wanted to. It’s a nice read with great characters and honestly I’m not sure why it didn’t really win me over.

I needed this book. This review is up later than I'd of like because I'm neck deep working in this pandemic in the middle of a covid outbreak and its fucking hard. But this book had been a godsend in the moments I've had time to read. Huck is the first book in the new charter of henchmen in Florida and I am living for this new bunch of rouges. For this new world within the OG world with new faces and a different view. It's fresh and exciting and whilst the OG's will be forever be my ride or dies.. I've still got room for anything else Jessica wants to throw our way.

The thing I love the absolute most about Jessica is how she writes real relatable character. Characters that as a reader are like me or people I know and love with real life shit that can't be made to look pretty but instead are perfectly imperfect, flaws, baggage and all. I connect to that. It's tangible for me.

Huck and Harmon are opposites in a lot of ways. Neither have lived a easy life but they both dealt with it very differently. Harmons quiet and keeps herself to herself with her only outlet also being her job. Playing video games for the world to see may seem nerdy to some but for Harmon it's more than a games, it's her coping mechanism when dealing with life and it's harsh realities. It's also her income. Huck went from jacking cars to being the president of a MC and in any world that's a step up but with it came a lot of responsibility. Lucky for the guys Huck isn't just a pretty face. He's layed back and confident but make no mistake the man can get serious real quick when needed.

Their journey is all kinds of sweet and perfect timing but it's not all shits and giggles. They happened real quick but it fit them and the situation they found themselves in. The chemistry they have from the first moment they meet is palpable despite the unfortunate circumstances in which they met and that really set the pace for what turned out to be a crazy ride for them both. The connection between them really blossomed into something so fucking special as their journey progressed and they showed a more vulnerable side towards each other. Huck treated Harmon with so much care and support I was swooning at the absolute sweetness of the man. Harmon really wasn't afraid to give Huck the kind of honesty a badass like him needed and I respected the hell out of her for being that person for him. They balanced eachother perfectly and didn't really fight themselves on their feelings which I freaking love.

Their story is action packed, it's suspenseful, its climactic and gripping and it's emotionally driven in the best ways. I found myself completely consumed in their story totally connected to these characters and believing in them and their HEA. The turmoil and personal struggles made it easy to really relate to them. The sweet and the sexy had me swooning like a crazy lady. The hilarious and outrageous shenanigans had me creased in laughter. Everything about this story just ticked all my boxes. The characters are the gifts that keep giving. From the banter and bickering to the endless support and a genuine love they have for eachother... every one fits seamlessly into this story and into Huck and Harmons journey giving us more depth and personality but also teasing us with what's to come in the future.

As a whole this is the perfect foundation for a new start to a shiny new series branching off a mammoth OG series. Jess just got it perfect. It doesn't feel like something completely different otherwise it wouldn't be her writing but it's also not the same as The Henchmen MC either. It's a fun fresh twist with a whole bunch of new characters and endless possibilities for their future that I am beyond excited for.

I can't wait to see who's next!!!!!!.

In the mood for something a bit different? How about a heroine who plays video games online for a living? And a decent living, too? Always satisfying, Jessica Gadziala weaves another tale of intrigue, family, violence and love with the most interesting characters and some fantastic plot lines.

Harmon is a blue-haired beauty with sometimes crippling PTSD. She spends her days holed up in the house she rented trying to work. But the partying from the biker compound next door has made it hard to record. Or sleep. Or pretty much do anything. But what can you do when you move in next to a bunch of 1%ers?

Huck is in charge of the Florida chapter of the Henchmen MC, and they’re having a bit of trouble from their competition in the gun-running business. So basically, business as usual. When Harmon returns one of his brothers’ dog to the compound, he’s more than interested in just her fantastic ass – she’s got sass and class and something else that draws him to her.

Get ready for a whole lot of excitement, laughs and a laundry list of felonies. Awesome.

The boys from the Glades!!! I am so excited to start a brand new Henchmen series. We have Huck, Che, McCoy, and Seely. These boys definitely remind me of the early days for The Navesink boys when they were still up and coming taking control of their territory. Having others question them or even challenge them.

Harmon has such vulnerability and strength all wrapped up in one. She moves next door to the MC which is very brave. She has amazing Blue hair and is a online gamer. She has suffered something traumatic in her past which has left her with crippling car phobia, PTSD and seizures. When the MC first meets her they are suspicious of her motives. Huck comes around and really starts to see how amazing she really is.

I love the build up for Harmon and Huck. Huck is this bad boy with a heart of gold. He will definitely make you swoon. I cannot wait for more from this series! Especially Che!!!!

What happens when you mix a woman who tends to keep to herself and suffers from anxiety/ptsd with a rough and tough 1%er biker? A kickass entertaining read. I very much enjoyed this. First, getting a glimpse of what it might be like to be a female gamer who does this professionally was awesome. I actually have a friend who works in this world, and it's really not an easy profession for women to work in. I also loved the huge dichotomy between the two of them - they were incredibly different people but really got/understood each other almost right from the start. Yes, the things that happen are definitely out of fantasy, but the author is so talented that it's written in such a way that it almost feels real and as though you are reading of someone's actual life. I VERY much enjoyed this installment into the series and can't wait for the next one!

As a huge JG fan I was a bit worried with a whole new MC chapter not in Navesink Bank. Guess what?? I had NOTHING to be worried about. This group can hold their own and is flat out great!

Huck is the Hero if the book and the leader of the MC. He is of course strong, yet different. He can hold his own with rich "old money" or a with rough crowd. You fall in love no matter what!

Harmon is the heroine, she has a unique look, a unique job and a great background story. JG really knows how to bring all these different characters alive.

I can't wait for more from this group and I need to know more about Teddy's story!!!

The new MC is awesome! The new guys and lifestyle are fun and exciting! I can’t wait to read more. Huck and Harmon are a great couple. I love how he is so protective with her, and that she isn’t your average girl. This story is a great read! It has enough action to keep you on your toes, but is also funny. The new MC should definitely be on your read list!

If this book is any indication of what’s to come these henchmen are going to be hot and steamy. You don’t have to read the OG Henchmen to enjoy this book.

Harmon is a gamer with lots of-challenges. She moves in next door to a MC and her life changes forever.

Huck is the head of the Golden Glades Henchman. Alpha male, sex on a stick. When trouble comes to his club he’s ready to take care of it. That includes Harmon.

"It's amazing that the human species hasn't died out," he said, shaking his head at me. "When the women are this obvious, and the men are this clueless."

This is a great start to a new chapter in the Henchmen. Lots of new blood but I have to say Remy is my favorite with his menagerie of animals.

I’m ready for the next book now.

4.5 stars for the craziness that IS watching the New Henchmen in Florida getting their feet wet!!

"That it is all about the journey. That nothing else really matters, nothing else is promised."

Huck is exactly what the doctor ordered as President in any brand new MC story from Jessica Gadziala, especially if that brand new MC is the daughter chapter of The Henchmen. He has it all, a calm, rational thought process, takes good care of his men, and doesn't mind getting a little bloody on occasion if the need arises. He has all this, until at least, he meets Harmon, who quietly sets about rocking his whole world!

Harmon is just quietly minding her own business in the house next door, trying to get down to work each day (well, she would be, if not for the 24/7 music!) until her brother comes to take her to lunch one day, and in the process of her flipping out in a pretty hard corps way, Huck thinks he needs to rescue her.

What ensues is a raucous and wild ride as Harmon is dragged into a drive by shooting, and some interesting battlefield medicine, and then we learn exactly how off the rails Huck can get when things get a little sticky in the hot Miami sun!!

A wild, HOT ride through Miami and the suburbs, getting to know the new Florida Henchmen and their hangers on in a way we didn't have time for in Gus's story. It was nice to learn who's who, and what's going on with more than just one person, and really getting a good look on the ground floor of the new Henchmen 2.0.

2-2.5 stars

Let me preface that you do NOT have to read her original Henchman series. This one is a start of a new series and it does hint at the other MC, but the characters aren’t in the book. So you can read this all on its own.

Honestly I really liked the beginning of this book, Harmon was a unique MC being a gamer, who streams for money, and she also had PTSD and suffers from seizures. Those were things I haven’t read about before. I think that the reason i liked the beginning over the rest of the book was because the pacing. The beginning it was well done but once things started to hit the fan it just was wayyy too rushed and I lost interest.

I also couldn’t feel the connection with the main characters, it felt too forced and I didn’t feel the build up that I normally do with some of this authors other books.

Overall I would give the beginning a solid 3.5-4 stars and then the ending around 2... and it kinda made it hard to recover..

Huck & Harmon have me screaming from the rooftops with excitement for this story/their story and what's to come from the Golden Glades Henchmen!!!! I LOVE them! Seriously, Jessica Gadziala never fails to write these super strong, fierce & unique females... the kind that have life happening but they are still handling their business & living as best they can and of course the Henchmen that fall for them. (whether they realize its happening or not lol)

I honestly couldn't get enough of these two... like ignoring ALL adult responsibilities and binge read Huck in one sitting! There are so many twists that I just didn't see coming, family drama & so so much more! SO GOOD!!

3.4 stars.
This was sort of too realistic for me in some places and then perfectly ridiculous in others.

I did like the characters and the build up we got to the relationship.

The plot was sort of on the back burner for a lot of the book. They spent most of their time just hanging out and doing random things that one of the brothers had to remind Huck was dangerous while they still had no clue who had shot at them.

Then their relationship.
I don’t know. It was super quick.
They hung out. The had sex. Then something dangerous happens and Huck decides she’s ‘his’ because he’s never felt like that before, and if she wasn’t his ‘he’d feel different’.
I don’t know. I was just a little iffy about that decision being made in the heat of danger and anxiety.

And the sex. It was just ok.
I was hoping for a bit more honestly.

Still.
I don’t think it was a bad book. I had a decent time while reading it. The end was a bit unsatisfying in that they once again it seemed like they were making big decisions in the heat of the moment. But I did think it was hilarious watching them all freak the hell out.
I think I’m gonna read another book in the series, but I also think I’ll skip ahead to Remy’s book because he’s really the one I’m most interested in with all of his animals.

Though I'm nowhere near finished with The NBH MC series, I couldn't help myself and had to read this one. While these books are interconnected in a way, it was a complete standalone.

Harmon is a gamer girl with lots of trauma that she's pretty good at hiding. She needs her solitude and to be as far away from her family as possible, so she moves to Golden Glades and rents a house right next to a biker compound. She doesn't mind keeping her distance at all. But first an accident one of the bikers witness then a lost dog who wanders to her porch change that pretty quickly.
By spending time with the MC she quickly seems to find herself in the middle of chaos and serious danger. So she actually moves in with them to be safe while things cool down around them, but that definitely doesn't help with the undeniable attraction she feels towards their president, Huck.
Huck is your typical bad boy with the softest heart, the kind of man who never felt the need for a relationship but doesn't even try to fight it once he realizes he feels things for Harmon that he never felt before.

It was a great introduction to the new club and I can't wait to learn more about these guys, especially Remy!
