His Highland Bride is a romantic adventure novel by Willa Blair. This is book three of His Highland Heart Series. It’s a wonderful look at the continuing storyline and characters in this saga.
This is a continuation of author Willa Blair’s period type novel series, this one is also set in the Scottish Highlands in 1411. It’s a good look at the period’s customs and clans, which adds to the appeal.
We’re taken back to the home of Mary Elizabeth Rose, the eldest daughter of James Rose, Laird of the Rose clan.
Previously, her sisters had run off and married into the clan of Brodie, leaving her at home with their widowed father and caring for Cameron Sutherland. Cameron had helped escort her sister home last summer and was wounded by an Irish gallowglass mercenary while only two days out from delivering her sister safely.
This is story of Cameron and Mary. It’s a tender and yet frustrating tale of building love with both parties afraid to admit their feelings to each other. It’s also a story of a stubborn father that doesn’t want his last daughter to leave him.
Author Blair has added wonderful intrigue, treachery, and betrayal to Mary’s story.
I found myself falling in love with Cameron Sutherland. A past flirt and more, he’s finally grown up and his heart has given itself to Mary. Outstanding finish to an amazing series!
We know Mary from her sisters' stories, and we met Cameron in the last book, which left him clinging to life with only Mary and her clan's healer struggling to keep him alive. This book picks up right where we left off, and gives us Mary's viewpoint on her family and her situation that we've only touched on previously.
Mary is a steadfast, compassionate young woman who remains devoted to her father even when his actions are in direct opposition to her happiness. Cameron is so much more than a dashing hero; he's got a huge heart that more than sympathizes with Mary's plight. These two have to navigate the delicate family politics while never quite being sure they can pursue their growing affection and sizzling chemistry.
The writing in this book, and the entire series, is exquisitely vivid and enchanting. It was so easy to feel a part of medieval Scotland every time I opened the book. There's plenty of action and drama in this book, some sadness and grief, a fair dose of treachery, and enough heroic rescues to keep you on the edge of your seat. The HEA was beautifully done, encompassing all the Rose girls and their growing families. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

My Thoughts:
This is another engrossing and well written addition to this series. I have read only the novella and this one, but both are everything I have come to expect from a Willa Blair story.
I was entranced by our hero and heroine from the time that Cameron became sensible enough to recognize his feelings that were developing for Mary.
I wasn't fond of her father or his penchant for seeming to ignore all Mary had to say.
He seemingly ignores his daughter's feelings, but in the end maybe he was listening after all.
I gave this title 4.5 of 5.0 stars for storyline and character development and a sensual rating of 3.5 of 5.0 flames.
Mary and Cameron's intimacy was held off until after they hand fasted and these scenes were mildly intimate and rather sweet.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this title after promising to participate in a blog tour for this title.
This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

An exciting ending to the Rose sisters’ stories In this book it concentrates on Laird Rose's eldest daughter Mary. Mary's love interest is Cameron Sutherland. He was introduced in the prior book His Highland Love. He helped protect Mary's youngest sister Catherine and her suitor Kenneth. When Cameron, Catherine and Kenneth arrived at Rose's keep, Mary immediately tended to Cameron's wound. She and the Rose healer watched over him for many weeks. During that time Mary became attached to Cameron. He proved to be the friend she need now that her other two sisters were married to Brodie men. Laird James Rose, Mary's father, did not approve of any of his daughters’ suitors and had rejected them outright. Mary felt duty bound to Rose. She was chatelaine and ran the keep. Mary is intelligent, kind, respectful, loyal and wise. Her father depended heavily on her. This dependency caused Mary to feel obligated to her father and she had to put her own dreams of marriage aside. Now that Cameron was in her life she allowed herself yearn for a life she thought she would never have. When Mary saw that Cameron did not show any partiality towards her, she kept her feelings to herself. Laird Rose looked like he was not paying attention but he was. He knew they had a tendre for each other. Laird Rose arranged to visit the Grant Clan and insisted Mary go with him. When they arrived, Laird Rose's intentions for going were made clear. He became signed a betrothal agreement for the sister of Laird Grant. Laird Grant was just a boy and his mother was filling in his stead. Laird Rose was to marry Seona, Lady Grant's young daughter. Mary noticed she was no older than her youngest sister Catherine. The Laird wanted a male heir to continue his legacy. But Mary was suspicious of the arrangement. Little did she know what troubles were afoot. There is subterfuge, betrayal, secrets, attempted murder, greed and power awaiting Rose and her people. An excellent read and I highly recommend it. Cameron brought home Mary Rose’s sister and sustained a near fatal wound. Mary has been caring for him for weeks waiting for his recovery. Her father has lost two daughters to the Brodie clan, and he does not want to let go of his precious Mary for she cares for his castle and all in it. He marries a younger woman to beget a male heir. She wants nothing to do with the running of the castle so that leaves Mary duty bound to keep running it as before. The problem that arises is that she falls in love with Cameron and him her. He leaves to go back home and realizes he wants Mary for a bride. That in itself is a problem because she runs her father’s home and does not want to leave the castle or her father with no one to run it. She would also leave her clan behind and that makes her feel guilty. Mary’s life is threatened and Cameron has discovered that he will have to seduce Mary away from the castle. He feels he owes her everything since she nursed him back to health and saved his life. Come along for a heartwarming but frustrating journey as these two write their own romantic story. These are two stubborn individuals with a huge set of responsibilities to their clans. I received this book as a gift and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Finally Mary Elizabeth Rose gets her story! Cameron Sutherland is the perfect match for her. He is a strong man full of humor and sweetness in how he treats Mary Elizabeth. She has to become very close to him, after nursing him back to health when he is almost killed. Once he is feeling better they both realize there is something between them but Mary Elizabeth knows she has a responsibility to her clan and her father to help with keeping her father’s home running smoothly. Her father has just wed a very young woman who wants nothing to do with him or running his home. This brings a lot of problems for the pair. Cameron has his own duty to his clan and has to leave to go home.
Once again this writer has a great plot for the last Rose daughter, it moves along very quickly, and I fell in love with the H&H right away. They were a well-balanced pair, which I always like in a story. I did get irritated with the father because of his selfishness regarding the happiness of his daughters but that adds some meat to the story as well. I’ve followed this author’s writing since the beginning and with each book she gets better and better with her stories. I enjoyed this book very much.

His Highland Bride by Willa Blair is book Three in the "His Highland Heart" series. This is the story of Mary Elizabeth Rose and Cameron Sutherland . I haven't yet read the other books in this series, so for me this was a standalone book.
We learn that Mary's father is taking a younger wife which will leave her being possible married off to help further their clan. But Mary wishes to marry for love although she understands how clan marriage work. Her feelings for Cameron a man who she has been nursing back to health have grown but he will need to be leaving to return to his clan.
Cameron will do anything for Marry so when he returns to see what has been happening and that it looks like Mary's life is in danger he will do anything to protect her.
I really enjoyed their story and will look for other books by this author.

This is a dramatic, tragic, romantic and interesting story. Cameron is charming, bold, determined and protective. Mary is loyal, responsible, strong, stubborn, caring and generous. While recuperating at Rose from his injury, he and Mary spend a great deal of time together and fall in love. When it's time for him to return to his clan, he wants to take Mary, but she refuses to leave her clan in the hands of her very ill father and his untrustworthy new wife. The drama and the twists and the tragedy soon follow. I loved the storyline and the H and h, and I was very happy with the ending.

This is the 3rd book of the story and about the oldest daughter of the Rose Laird, Mary. Cameron Sutherland from the last book has been brought to Rose to heal from injuries from some Glassglow soldiers. Mary and the healer are taking care of him. Cameron and Mary grow close and love starts to grow between them. The old laird takes a new wife and the mayhem begins, betrayal, assassination attempts, and scheming clans trying to gain control of the Rose clan; including an old lover trying to get in on the action before the Rose laird breathes his last. This is a well-written story as well as the rest of the series with lots of heart stopping and breath stealing action.

Now that Mary’s father has gotten married to a much younger woman in hopes of gaining a son. Mary hopes that his new bride will step in and take over her duties and she is free to enjoy her own life. As she has been healing for the injured Cameron, they grow closer and sparks fly. Will he be her future or does her father have other plans in mind for her? This is a fun, sweet and entertaining read with plenty of drama and suspense. I really liked the characters and the story held my interest throughout. A good read.

Cameron Sutherland is healing from a very bad wound and being cared for by Mary Rose. Mary has developed feeling for Cameron and Cameron for her. This story ,like the the others in this series will captivate your heart while reading two people's struggles to find true love.

Beautiful love story. It's time for oldest Rose daughter, Mary Elizabeth, to find love. Beautifully written with a suspenseful and romantic plot. Well developed characters.

Interesting love story
I have enjoyed this book. Mary was so accustomed to be over her home it was hard to feel loved until Cameron came in her life.
