This novel is part of the Arcos Series of Gaelic folk tales for beginning and intermediate language learners. With a limited vocabulary and a strong focus on high frequency verbs and language structures, these short novels make the Scottish Gaelic language and folk tale culture easily accessible to learners. Enjoy reading!
Contains an extended and optimized Gaelic-English glossary. This glossary helps you to understand the story more easily and spend less time looking up words.
Gaelic beginner novella; I think this is a big, and welcome, step-up from Rona agus MacCodruim both in terms of ambition and in terms of language level but it really does very well at coaxing you up the path to being able to enjoy the end of the story pretty much independently. I don't think the glossary at the back is 100% complete, though Gaelic is very tricky to do that for. My favourite way of learning and I'd recommend it.
Excellent for learners of Gaelic, good practice of high frequency words and grammar. Nice short chapters and yet also a really enjoyable retelling of a well known story
Deirdre agus an Rìgh is a novella for the intermediate Gaelic learner. The book includes a complete glossary of words and terms including verbs and other vocabulary geared to this level. I would recommend this novella for anyone wishing to improve their written understanding of the language.
