I’ve spent my whole life seeing monsters, but they could never see me back...until now. Turns out, I’m not crazy like I’ve spent my whole life believing. Too bad it took being locked in a cage and tortured almost to the point of insanity to realize that. But I’m not alone. In a cage to my left, there’s a monster who’s given up hope. He stays in the shadows and moves with chains wrapped around him, but his golden eyes watch. To my right, there’s a girl with purple wings and familiar gray eyes. She says she’s my sister, and not just that, but apparently I’m half demon, half angel, and to make it out of here, I have to embrace the new wings on my back and the scythe in my hand. Now I have to choose to either submit to my captor, or fight. I’m about to learn that sometimes you have to become a monster to beat the monster.

Ivy Asher is addicted to chai, swearing, and laughing a lot (but not in a creepy, laughing alone kind of way). She loves the snow, books, and her family of two humans, and three fur-babies. She has worlds and characters just floating around in her head, and she's lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing people who support that kind of crazy.

2.5 Still a bit disappointing...

I would have preferred this story a bit different, a bit more. It had a lot of potential, I was really excited at first, but then it all just went, POOF.

Is it worth starting?

Well, yeah. But if you don't like where it's going, don't insist, don't try too much.

I loved this story but...
1. I wish it was not told the way it was. I think I would have appreciated it more if it was one or two books told from multiple povs, especially of the sisters. The way the story is delivered, with separate books per sister, didn't work very well for the plot.
2. Again, I felt like this last book also needed the multiple povs to cover the other events where Sable was not there. With such a rich multi-dimensional plot, the delivery felt a bit one sided. It was a bit frustrating wondering what everyone else was up to.
3. I hated that after the epic battle with Morax, I had to go back to the mundane life of Sable. Not that I didn't want to know about it, it just felt meh and kind of a very long extended epilogue. I wish the story ended shortly after the high of the battle.

This is a very good story but the flow and the delivery could have been better.

This final book was a good one and started strong. It jumped straight into the narrative right off the bat and out of the three sisters Sable Pierce has had it hardest. Abandoned by her adoptive parents at the age of three she was thrown into the system. Her failing wards made her believe she was crazy and delusional. She has spent the majority of her life incarcerated in facilities and her latest jaunt of the last four years sees her residing at Serenity Peaks Asylum New York. With the Asylum closing and her relocation imminent Sable expects more of the same instead, she finds herself in the hands of Morax and incarcerated in a dungeon in hell. She now finally learns that the monsters she's been seeing her whole life are real and soon realises her current situation at the hands of her captor is dire.

Sable is a bit more ruthless and bloody thirsty than Medley and Delta, which I was so there for. It's for sure because her life is such a constant uphill battle. It's contributed to her resilience and strength and she is now focusing all of that on ending Morax once and for all. Sable wants him to pay in blood and pain for all of his many crimes against her and her sisters.

So we have three mates here, there's Toreon, another reluctant guest in Morax's dungeon, his protector Vudu and the two kinda come as a buy one get one free as they are both connected. We also have Ire who is the progeny of Wrath, initially he's a bit of an ass but he does make up for it later down the line. The chemistry was hot hot hot. A small observation though, I don't think this mate circle were quite as well developed as some of the prior ones and I think this may have been because the story was just so fast-paced in its momentum and direction that this aspect felt a tad rushed. It kinda took a back seat to all of the resolutions. Still, I do like them and they certainly made an adorable quid.

This was such an easy read and all of Sable's newly discovered sisters and their mates play their part in this final book. This manages to round out the series bringing the necessary closure and I was satisfied with how it all was concluded. I've enjoyed this series the humour appealed to me, it's the British for sure. My favourite was definitely book one, but each book was a definite good time and this final one was an easy read. They do need to be read in order as there is an ongoing story throughout but yes I liked this series and would recommend it.

I enjoyed this one so much. it was so much more than the previous three, I think because Sable was a survivor from day one. She didn't have a "gimmick" she just was someone who had been told she was crazy her whole life. Now she finds out she isn't and not only that she is something very special. I really enjoyed seeing all the pieces finally come together from the other books. All in all i've enjoyed this series a great deal.

Not my favorite series from either of these authors but it was good and definitely got better as it went on. I think this book in particular was my favorite. Sable has suffered the most out of the three triplets. When the wards put on her as a baby fail, the poor thing lives life seeing the world for what it is and sees demons everywhere. This ends with her adoptive family dropping her off at an asylum at 3 years old where she essentially lives out her life. When we first meet Sable she's being tortured by the big baddie who for reasons still unknown wants the girls in his takeover of hell and destruction of the devil. On that note, I loved the devil and I find it so fun that more often than not in fiction he's made out to be a fun and likable guy. I was worried as the big showdown and take-down of Morax happened at 70%. This helped give Sable time to actually get to know her men-between being kidnapped and tortured, they just haven't' had the time lol. Sable and her sisters get to know their birth parents, one the Sin of Pride and the other a formidable angel who's also part of the Legion. It took time but the two eventually grew on me and I'm glad they all got time to bond and know one another. Even better was when Melody's parents showed up, Todd in tow and immediately took all the girls under their wing. This was a really fun and interesting series and I really enjoyed the journey!

A wonderful ending!

Damn I enjoyed this book. Like book 3, we have a new protagonist and we get a quick catch up to get her up to speed with Delta and Medley. Then the action really gets going.

Oh sweet Morningstar, the amount of twists in this book! I swear I'm going to need a regular re-read of this series, because even when I thought I knew what was about to happen I was still taken by surprise. Morax was an incredible villain, he was legitimately scary and actually carried out his threats. And that final battle was BADASS. No spoilers, just bring popcorn.

I do want to point out that this book has a longer ending than Return Of The King, but it is 100% necessary. We needed to see Sable get into a routine with her mates, life has been chaos up to this point. And every loose end was tied up, EVEN TODD! Seriously, that alligator had me in a fit of laughter right after I finished my happy tears.

I loved this series for the amount of risks it took and I'm so glad it was a rapid-release from the authors. I don't think they could have got away with 3 protagonists within 4 books and 1 epic, overarching story if there had been significant periods of time between books. But the risks paid off, and I was thoroughly entertained the whole time.

The darkest out of the three but not too dark. Out of the three sisters Sable is my favourite. She should be the weakest but instead her strength is untouchable where it counts. I also liked how unsure she is dealing with relationships. The story was good, I liked how everything wrapped up. It was a shame Sable had less time with her mates. It’s been an enjoyable series.

Happiest of Endings

This series of the triplets was quite cute. It’s an Angel and demon series with reverse harems. Some smut. Lots of story to suck you in. I’m glad this popped up as a suggestion for me. I truly enjoyed it.

Grave Signs is the fourth and last installment within the Hellgate Guardians series. If you read the previous books in this series, then you know about the main characters being sisters. Since we met the first two already, we were bound to meet the last one.

Enter Sable. Now she has been through so much. Way more than her sisters. She knows the worst about the world, and it just made me feel so bad for her. Imagine being her age and seeing demons and everything else. I have no idea how I would feel other than being miserable, ya know?

Just like the other books, there were things that I liked and didn't like in this one. The one thing I can be happy about is finally knowing more about their family. Seriously, it was bugging me that we didn't have all the information still.

In the end, this was an interesting series to dive into. It definitely won't be the last of these two authors because they can be somewhat addicting.

This final book was disappointing because I felt, for a romance story, very little time was spent in the development of the relationship between all the main characters. I thought the overall storyline that was told over the four books finished fairly well, but I think a lot more was needed to show that the main characters were developing a closeness other than the “fate-destined mates” idea. I also thought the character development, other than for the fmc, was extremely lacking.

Book 2 ends with the cliffhanger and Melody finding her sister, and they are both trapped.

Book 3 Sable POV. I expected...I don't know, Sable to be angry dark or something, and I'm not saying shes not, but she's so much more, and when Sable story begins, giving us the story of how she found her wings. it's sad, but I see how loving she can be just with how those who knew her say goodbye. Unlike Delta and Melody, she didn't have a loving family for her teen years, and her wards have not been working correctly, making herself doubt what she sees and knows. it's heartbreaking seeing how her mind tries to make sense of it all while having nothing to trust...must be like a underwater tornado, throwing her all over the place and every now and them throwing her enough to break water and gulp air.

Sorry rambling, so the villain is still not much of a villain to me. but he has added hate points for how delusional and abusive he is.

The MMCs, well they appear slowly, and it's so different from the way her sisters met her mates that it's an added depth to the world.

There is spice even in the chaos and darkness, and yes, we get smut and smex. Again, it's different from how her sisters got their rocks off. There's added doubt and more intense bonds through what Stable has lived and been through as well as one of her mates.

Okay, I'm not saying much more than to say. Lucifer is a badass. The triples are hilarious together and adorable. Oh, I laughed so much at the end of the book. Toilet brush, Todd, fetch, squirrel, dust 🤣🤣🤣🤣

4.0/4.5 🌟for over reading enjoyment but I had to round up because the moments that were amazing were WAY AMAZING and that end.... I cried 😭 and laughed out loud 😂🤣 more than once. It was such a perfect ending.

*spoilers below if you have not read the first three books*

Grave Signs is told from Sable's POV and has timeline overlap with the preceding books. We know a bit about Sable's background from book 3, we know who all is looking for her, and how she's found isn't the rescue mission they had in mind.

Sable is a much different heroine than Delta or Medley. She shares the same inner fire and takes to her inner demon badassness with a open arms to make a new friend and life for herself - - something she never thought she'd have. She finds more love and acceptance in her sisters, new family, and mates than she ever dared to dream of for herself. When her sassy attitude pops up, it's her own, not just a copy of one of her sisters.

I really enjoyed watching her relationship building with her mates. It didn't feel rushed even though they hadn't spent a lot of time together. I loved of they each checked in with each other and even through awkward moments (which felt so relatable), she would put her mates first and they did the same for her. And I loved seeing them quickly come together as a unit, both in battle and for the HEA.

PERFECTION

This was an amazing ending to such an incredible series. I was worried that Sable was going to get cheated out of her falling in love with her mates story but it turns out the big bad had to be dealt with first. Wow! This book really was top notch. I was trying to figure out which book was my favorite and then I figured out I love them all equally. My favorite characters though are mama and daddy Bell. Maybe even Todd too but I am feeling a little like Delta with that one. When these two ladies write a book on their own, I automatically get it because I know it will always be good. Now when they come together, true magic happens and I find that those are the books I could read over and over again and never get bored. Thank you ladies for giving me something that has me laughing so hard I almost pee my pants, that brings tears to my eyes with all those amazing feels and something that always leaves me feeling better when I get to that last page. You guys rock!

Well this was mainly Sable's story but it did round up the whole story line at the same time. This isn't my favorite series by Raven but it's not the worst I have read either. I got a bit lose half way through this one. there were too many people to keep track off and I lost interest but I got it back towards the end. I like the fact that Sable got to chance to have everything she should have gotten as a child like a family, home and she found her bonded (okay not that a child should have that). I liked that they healed the hell gate and they all have the chance to get to know one another and even had thier biological parents start forming relationships with them all.

Get book of the whole series

I LOVED Sable. She's my favorite sister by far, tortured past but stronger for it, dealt with life alone but isn't afraid to make herself
L vulnerable to her sisters, her mates or her parents.
So much action and suspense in this book too. Obviously as the final book we got the huge fight against evil but I liked that the book went on well after the battle and showed relationships building with all the characters and world building even up to the end.
Outstanding series, highly recommend it.

I didn’t love the first two books in this series. Delta as a character was a bit annoying to me. I was glad we got a book for each of her sisters, Meredith and Sade, even if I felt like Delta’s story ark felt like it ended too soon. I enjoyed this world and the demonic politics surrounding it. I’m grateful I stuck with this for the ending because it was perfect. The second half of book 4 felt like they left an opening for another series, which I will read.

I’m glad it’s over! Delta’s was fun! Medley’s was horrid. Sable’s is lacking.

The low country style (perhaps accent is a better word?) interspersed throughout just isn’t to my liking. Admittedly, there isn’t as much as in the 2nd book (thank goodness - that was a painful read), but it still detracts. Far too lowbrow for me.

This book is ok. The overall tone seemed defensive throughout, as though the author’s were trying to justify things from previous novels (*insert shrug*).

Everything does get tied off and there is a HEA, but it’s just not as strong as Delta’s and not as awful as Medley’s. Character development for Vudu (also, really…vudu *insert very judge-y eye roll*) Torean and Ire were severely lacking.

I often wanted it to be over.

While I liked the idea of a rapid release series, some of these books just didn’t work for me. I should have stopped with Delta’s books.

This is a one and done for me. Now I’m cautious about these writers.

Omg I'm dead.

Alright, so most of this book was just full of emotion and heavy stuff, that I'm not much used to from this pair of writers. However they FULLY made up for it in the end. OMG I haven't laughed that hard in so long! I do believe that Todd stole the show. Like, I kinda want him. Seriously he is a pet worthy of having.
Okay, now to talk about the rest. This book was intense to say the least. How in the world Sable is actually sound of mind is beyond me. I would have broken completely with that life growing up. She endures a LOT in this book and still manages to be so fierce. Luce cracks me up. So do the girls bio parents. Even though everything was tense, there were still moments of laughter and the end just about killed me. I honestly have no idea how my husband slept through that.
Ivy and Raven are excellent authors and they each kick butt in their own books, but when they come together, man, it's magic!

This book is way darker than the previous 3 and has me cringing and depressed for the first few chapters. There is nothing funny or thrilling or wonderful. Only dark, dreary, and painful. But I do have hope as I read on and get to know Sable, the third sister. Slowly and painfully, some dialog between Sable and the others in the dungeon elicits a grin from me which feeds my hope even more. “I wish I wasn’t locked in the dungeon and at the mercy of some evil creature’s plans, but I discovered that I’m not crazy, that I have family, and that I have purpose. And those are lifelines that I will never let go of for anything.” But then, it just gets worse and I can’t see any hope. I don’t even want to read any further but it just seems that everything is lost and the bad guy has won. Isn’t that the stuff that makes for heroes and miracles though? I’m so glad I kept reading because I really hated that bad guy. HATED. HIM. We are 75% into the book before I get any chuckles or grins in. OR before there is any kind of hanky panky. It was a long time coming and very hard earned. I am exhausted emotionally by the time we get to the intimacy but then I realize as I savor it that the way Raven writes the spice is both emotionally and physically intimate, that the lovers bare their souls to each other and are bound to each other forsaking all others. Once I realized that, I also realized that this is what is so satisfying to me. Its not wanton or random or detached sex, its soul connection stuff.

“You’re just perfection, aren’t you?” he asks as one hand comes up to thread through my hair. “I was intrigued by you before when you were all ragged and lost, angry at the world and promising retribution,” he says, “And then I sensed you in the ballroom, sensed your anger, your desire,” he goes on, “Then I didn’t think I could ever be as impressed as I was when I saw you cutting down demons with a bloodlust that rivals my own,” he says, “But this right here? You wet. Hot. Bent over with my c*&^ deep inside of you? This is the f*&^% best thing I’ve ever experienced in my whole damn life, and I am the luckiest bastard who was ever beaconed (mated).” The dirty words he’s speaking to me and the uninhibited captivation makes me feel treasured, cherished, special. Emotions whirl with my desire as he claims me in every possible way.”

I finished this book with a satisfied grin on my face.

I read this whole series back to back so I’m just going to review it as one big story..

I really enjoyed this! I was happily surprised, I feel like I’ve been reading some lackluster RH books lately and I’m glad this was not in that company.

The first two books are about Delta, the third book is about her sister Medley and the last book is about Sable. The whole series is about the unique abilities of those that protect the hellgate. All the sisters have no idea that they are actually not human and as the series unfolds we learn more information about them, their abilities and their families.

I loved the world building. It didn’t feel overwhelming but was given at the correct moments. I liked watching each relationship build and develop, it didn’t feel rushed like in some books. I also enjoyed the slower process of being a full RH. Each relationship was started and then you eventually get there, rather than the first chapter suddenly there’s a very full bedroom.

The plot was intriguing and kept me turning the pages. The ophidian was a jerk and I really despised him. Medley’s parents were a hoot and I loved any scene with them in it. It especially made me cry in the last book. They are just too sweet.

Sable was my favorite sister and I loved her book the most. She had a seriously terrible life and yet she was still pretty positive and hopeful. I wanted to reach in the book and grab the stupid ohpidian during the first half of her book because seriously, he was a dick.

All in all, this was really enjoyable! If you like RH books that actually have a good plot with a nice buildup, give it a try!

The first two books were pretty great, but these last two were meh. After spending two books with Delta, we suddenly only have one book to get to know her sisters and their boyfriends and it just didn't work for me. Sable I liked better than Medley, at least, though I can't really put my finger on why. I think I just empathized with her more, especially after Medley's blase attitude toward everything. Medley felt like a rehash of Delta but with parents that were alive, with the shitty job and even shittier boss.

Which, in both of their cases, they should have been going straight to the labor board with all those violations. Know your rights, employees.

Anyway, I don't know a whole lot about Ivy Asher but I read a lot of Raven Kennedy's books and I'm a fan of the other series that Raven has written. Overall this series was a good read, and the concept was interesting for sure. Some of the comedy landed, some of it didn't, but the emotional beats always landed. I'm a big weepy sucker so literally, anything even remotely emotional hits me right in the chest so take that how you will.

My biggest gripe is that alligator. What was that even about? Took me right out of the story every time it showed up. People keep gators as pets, sure, but they don't act like cartoon characters!

The sex scenes were pretty genre-typical, which is a neutral point for me. I personally don't like dirty talk because it's too distracting, but I get why it's written into erotic novels so it's something I've come to deal with.

Overall, glad I read the whole thing and the first two books were the better of the series.

Good

Picking up from where Medley’s book, book three, left off with a cliffhanger, we begin Sable’s story.
Incarcerated in an insane asylum from a young age, Sable doesn’t realize that the monsters she sees are real.
When she is taken by one of the monsters, she finds herself in Hell, beside a woman who claims to be her sister, and a man who has been in captivity for a very long time.
With the Ophidian, Morax, working to take over all three realms, Sable must work with her two sisters to prevent him from doing so…

The last of the triplets has had the roughest life, since her wards were breached when she was very young, and it lead to people thinking she was insane- including her adoptive family.
Finding she is a triplet, and that she and her siblings are not only half angel half demon, but vital for the insane plans of megalomaniacal demon is not something she has even considered, but none of them want him to succeed.
This leads to battles, adventure, a little humour, and a slice of romance when she discovers her mates along the way.
The story has its final ending, the final showdown, and a happily ever after for all. And once again, Medley Bell’s parent and their pet Todd steal the show!
With laugh out loud moments, a heroine determined to succeed despite everything looking grim, and some hot RH romance, this is one that RH fantasy lovers will enjoy!

First time I’ve wanted an epilogue.

I loved this series. I loved Raven’s Cupid series, and I find I actually enjoyed this one even more. It was the small details that hooked me. The alligator, the mean butler, the leather outfit. I actually even found myself hoping that just one of the triplets would hug Tazreel at the end, because for who he was and the eons he existed being one way, he was seriously making an effort to be better for them.

I’ve never wanted it before, and I don’t follow authors outside of the worlds they create, so perhaps it’s in the works...but I would love to read a follow up on them a few years later; maybe for the first new child to be born. I’d love to see the Bell’s joy and warmth, and see how far Taz and Nefta have come in their relationship with their children and each other. I’d love to learn more about discovering how inheriting special gifts works when multiple mates are involved, or if the child will always be an Annulus or a Gatekeeper. There is so much potential for epic fantasy in this world that I’m sorry to see it end—but if it had to end, it was the perfect ending (except I still think Tazreel just needs a hug). :)

This was another enjoyable read, though for different reasons from the others in the series. I really liked how plot-centred this book was, it was satisfying seeing how the overarching conflict of the series was resolved. I appreciated that the authors didn't try to shove too much romance in the first 75% of the book given the situation the MC was in, any more would have felt forced and messed with the pacing of the plot, I think.

However, that did leave most of the romance and sex scenes getting shoved to the end which still felt a bit awkward. The main conflict was resolved and it felt like the book should be wrapping up, but I was only 75% of the way through. The last 25% was basically just fluff plot so the romance could happen, which ended up making the relationships feel a bit forced. I understand this series is a romance at it's foundation so it would have been strange to not have any, but I just don't know if the plot of this book really supported the romance genre very well.

I really, really loved Sable and the relationship between the 3 sisters in this book. I thought it was a bit convenient that Sable felt no jealousy for her sisters growing up in much better conditions than her, I would have liked to see her deal with those emotions (not necessarily causing resentment between the sisters, just having Sable experience them and handle them in a healthy way would have been more realistic). But the sisters were so great and the dynamics between all of their mates were too, I'm glad they got their happily ever afters 🥰
