The vampires aren’t the only ones out for blood.

I’m not just a vampire slayer. I’m a witch-shifter hybrid with a vengeance, and I’m crazy enough to crash the most feared vampire nest on my own.

But the vamps are already a step ahead of me. When they capture me, I’m forced to fight another shifter to the death for their sick entertainment.

No one holds me prisoner and gets away with it.

The vampires aren’t the only ones out for blood. I’ll do whatever it takes to free my sister and kill the vampires… even if it means losing everything I hold dear.

There were phases in the book where I didn’t really want to read on, but in the end it was a good story and I enjoyed it. The end was somewhat expected, but not. At least not in the way things played out. I’m looking forward to the last book in the series. 5 stars.

Thank God this series is almost done.

I don’t think that I can say it often enough or complain about it enough. Ray is not a badass. She doesn’t get the meaning of being a badass. Just because she wears leather and talks with a potty mouth does not make the character a badass.

A real badass can wear a frilly dress and Crocs and still be a force to be reckoned with.

Now, about this book. It was awful.

All the decisions the character makes are obvious to everyone wrong ones.

The way they describe what goes on on Gregor Island makes it sound more like a summer camp than a house of horrors. Yes they rip out someone’s heart but we know they are vampires and that we should expect them to be awful, but other than having to work and giving blood it sounds like it’s a pretty rad place to be. The slaves have all day to themselves and they are given all the food they could want and booze with no adults around to stop them.

Also, Valkis is the first vampire and he’s been around forever, yet he thinks like a teenager.

She can kill him. Keep that in mind because he doesn’t.

He doesn’t turn her right away (best option) he lets her hang out with her sister and gives her a chance to get allies to her cause. He doesn’t change her when he meets her again and offers her a partnership and then sends her back out to play with her friends. When she breaks his trust, again he doesn’t change her he puts her with her friends and family and everyone that has any chance of making her stronger.

How does someone that’s lived that long like that long when they are that dumb?

Also, how does she not know what will happen when she breaks the spell but others do?

The end of the story is just… I hate to use dumb again, but there is no other way to say it. It’s a cop-out.

I have one more book, a plot that should have been followed first mind you, left in the series then I can be done with this author forever. Can’t wait.

This is the third book in this series and it just keeps you on your toes. How Rae stays so brave and strong through it all is amazing. Though there a times she seems weak she really is one tough gal. She finally gets to the island she knows her sister is as well as the vampire that started it all. Will she be able to get close enough to Valkas to dagger him with the same dagger that created him? Will Matias stop all magic with his successor before Rae can even have a chance. There is a lot riding on whether or not Rae can stop what she started many life’s before. Anxious to read the next book in this series because I know it can’t be over yet!

I received an ARC of the whole series from the author

Rae finally visits Gregor Island. Her plan to rescue her sister doesn’t go as planned and her plan to kill Valkos also didn’t go as planned. Now Rae is faced with the difficult task of leaving the island with her sister, who is alive but a blood slave and trying to kill Valkos in the process. She finds aid with an unexpected guest, someone she is very familiar with and she makes new friends in this conquest

This book and series is full suspense. Rae is a strong character and her sister is stronger than her. You feel emerged in Rae’s world when you read it

This is a fantastic addition to this series. She is forced to fight against another shifter, for there enjoyment. This read grabs you like the rest of the series from the first page. There is lots of action. And Epic battles. If you are a Vampire Lover and of shifters. You will definitely love this read. Theres twists and turns that are just epic. The Author has done a fantastic job with all the characters and the scenery. You can see the scenes so vividly while reading. I totally love this series. This would make a fantastic movie series.

A mildly dark, paranormal werewolves & shifters romance. Rachel Collins is the Ravenite. She kills vampires who stray outside the law. A lot of bad things happen in this title. Nonetheless, quite a few good things happen as well. It ends tragically, but it seems a necessary step in the long-term plot.

Entertaining. Funny. Great world building. Romantic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

This series just keeps getting better and better!!
Rae finally finds herself on the island to seek and destroy Valkos.
Except that her plan goes awry and she is captured instead. Rae finds herself in a position where she is questioning herself. Will she dig deep and find herself?
We also meet a few new characters in this installment and we see a few of our old friends as well. Looking forward to reading the next installment.

Rachel finally gets a tip to where her sister is so she leaves the gang to attempt a rescue. Once there she looses the dagger she needs to end Valkas the head vampire. It’s a strange reunion with Jenna when they are pitted in a death match. Lots of action and scary moments. I can’t wait for the final saga.

Having learned that she was none other than Elizabeth Martin in her previous incarnation and therefore responsible for creating Valkas, Rae is more determined than ever to destroy him and rescue her sister. Having given the Artefact to Matias in exchange for the dagger that can kill Valkas, the gang realise it’s only a matter of time before Matias uses the Artefact that could render them all without magic leaving Rae vulnerable when she finally confronts Valkas. When Sondra discovers the whereabouts of Matias and the gang prepare to retrieve the Artefact, Rae sneaks out on her quest to kill Valkas alone.

Armed with the dagger, Rae’s confrontation with Valkas on Gregor Island doesn’t go as planned. Having underestimated Valkas’ power, she finds herself imprisoned, her magic rendered useless and the dagger now in the possession of her nemesis. With the odds stacked against her, how will she prevail?

Resilience is the third instalment in the Vengeance and Vampires series and picks up from the events of the previous book. The book was fast paced, gripping with lots of twists and suspense that made it really hard to put down. In fact I read it in a day.

By the third book, it’s easy to become invested in the characters we’ve come to know and love. Rae shows her mettle in this installment, and despite her good intentions, she really goes through the wringer. Valkas is every bit the nefarious egomaniac ruled by his delusions of grandeur. Several new characters were introduced, with Rae’s new family temporarily taking a back seat although they do appear later in the book. Jenna was a welcome addition.

Judging by the shocking reveal at the end, it appears that Rae’s confrontation with Valkas was manipulated before she ever set foot on Gregor Island and she’s played right into their hands. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next instalment. Recommended for fans of paranormal/urban fantasy.

I have a lot of admiration for this series and Alicia Rades has added yet another exceptional book. Resolute means:- Firmly resolved or determined; set in purpose or opinion. That description is exactly how Rae continues her quest to find her sister and kill Valkas the vampire king the root of all the heartbreak Rae has endured. She is stronger now, believing she needs nothing or nobody to support her in this next chapter. Alicia Rades gives us a fast, tight, constrained storyline. My emotions was all over the place. At times I felt like putting ear plugs in so I couldn’t hear the brutality some of these characters experienced. Realism flows throughout these words, making me feel every beat of Rae’s wings, every fist that hit her body and every tear that fell. Due to how the storyline continues I found Resolute harder to read then the others in this series owing to the intensity of the despair Rae goes through. This part in the series had to eventually happen as this was Rae’s goal all along, needing to find out if her sister was alive or dead. The new characters introduced in Resolute was just as easy to befriend enabling myself to shout for their success & feel sorrow If they failed. We don’t get to see much of Rae’s new family amongst the main Characters this time, but they do make appearances. Venn will follow Rae anywhere, but this time it may be to late for both of them. The energy Resolute delivers gives us powerful scenes & strong sensations, with an ability to obtain insufficient sleep until every chapter is finished. The cliffhanger leaves us with the realisation that every thing that was or not accomplished on Gregor Island was manipulated before Rae even step foot there. It’s hard when you don’t like leaving spoilers, because once you have commented so much previously on the successful ability’s I feel Alicia Rades has, I can only skirt around what happened. I hope this gives you enough information to realise that this 5* series definitely deserves to be read, and will certainly keep you on your toes.
