I loved this book. I actually haven’t read the first 4 books in the series, but I totally got to enjoy this book without any confusion. It was also great that it did not ruin the previous books so I can go back and read the rest of the series without much spoilers.
Now this book had an awesome leading lady Billy Jean. She was kick ass but still had feelings that Ethan was able to pull out. Ethan was also great and protective, but definitely let the professional Billy take charge.
The romance was gradual and felt genuine. The suspense was really entertaining and had several plot twists thrown in. Definitely worth the read if you like your romance with some action, suspense, cute families, and danger. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series I missed out on!

While this is the fifth book in this series they are all total stand alone so you will have no problem picking up any of the books but do yourself a favour and read them all. Like all of the series this is a fast suspenseful read that will have you flipping pages as fast as you can.
When Ethan Storm a rock star receives threatening letters he quickly employs the Rider Team after all he is only wrapping up his business and then he will retire to the quitter life he is looking forward to This is how he meets Billy Jean Parrish she is the ex marine who is assigned as his bodyguard The attraction between them is instant but they both damaged by their past and guarding their hearts But when danger threatens the woman he is growing to love Ethan will do whatever he needs to keep her safe. Where are the threats coming from

Billy Jean Parrish is a Marine turned professional bodyguard. She has had several clients but this time she has one that she has to protect as well as be the head investigator on who is tying to kill Ethan Storm. (At his last concert he just missed a bullet to the head when he leaned down to pick up his dropped phone.) Ethan hires The Rider team to help protect him as well as to train his bodyguards. Billy Jean and Ethan have several clashes because she wants to keep him safe and he wants to do what he wants to do. After several concerts there have not been any more attempts on Ethan but Billy did get attacked one night while out and about but did this have anything to do with Ethan or was it just a simple mugging? Lots of twist and turns and who done it. This is a must read if you enjoy a good mystery.

I can't get enough of the Rider files. This is book 5 in the series, however this text totally works as a stand alone. I love Samet's writing style and have actually read some of the later books in the series, which also didn't interfer with my enjoyment of this one. Both Billy and Ethan are such likeable characters, both very different and unique but work together so well. I would definitly recommend reading if you enjoy a little suspense with your romance.

Not your typical rock star, not your average bodyguard
One of my favorite things about this book is the main characters are adults. Billy is 35, she was a marine then went to work for fellow soldier Maxine Rider. Ethan Storm is about to turn 40, he’s sown his wild oats, but he still writes good music. They’re settled in their lives, until hey meet each other. The instant attraction is just the beginning of the changes they will go through. Billy and Ethan grabbed my heart, just like this story did right at the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. Hang on for a fast paced sensual adventure with this suspenseful tale.

Billy is going through a series of changes in her life and although sometimes she does not know how to react she is letting them happen. She has support from her friends, and very unusually, she is being prompted to change by her client - the rock star. This story has so many plots, deceit, betrayal, and all written in a fast-paced action thriller. There´s also love and strong friendship ties that consolidate in what seems to be the final book in the series. Really entertaining.

I rarely read suspense book, but I completely loved reading this book. The mix of romance and suspense just hooked me, and once I started reading, I was unable to put it down. I was not confused even if I did not read the previous books of the series, everything you need to know about the characters are right in this book. The story was well-written and I fell in love with the characters from the beginning. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a bit different romance story. This is a mature couple in their thirties without lots of hidden secrets and angst. They are both highly professional individuals that know what they want and are frank about their attraction. There's a bit of a suspense involving a snake in their midst but the real story is the developing relationship between the two. An easy one-sitting read that had some enjoyable side characters that made a nice read.

The movie "the bodyguard" came to mind when I was reading the book, although the roles were swapped.
I just loved Billy and Ethan, they were both hurt by their past but they were still able to feel the love for each other. It was fun guessing the culprit and his motive. The book made a great romance novel but the author added the suspence to make it more exiting.

During the job, Billy learns that she is worthy of love and finally takes the chance with Ethan. Ethan helps her reconcile with her family after her father's death. C.B. Samet delivers another wonderful novel in the Rider Files series.

The Rider team is back and this time as bodyguards to a sexy rock star who someone is after. Thus starts an action filled story as Billy investigates Ethan's life and tries not to falling for him. But of course that is a lost cause as both are interested. Just an entertaining action adventure that made me laugh and giggle. Enjoyed characters from the Rider family (previous story characters) popping in as needed. A fun addition to the series. A fun story with action and a romance.

While they fight their attraction Billie must protect Ethan and her heart . This story is action packed and suspenseful definitely entertaining and interesting . A well written story . I highly recommend taking the time to read . Outstanding

In this story the riders are back as bodyguards for Ethan a rock star. Billy is searching and trying to do her job and not get to involved but it doesn’t work as she and Ethan are attracted to each other. This was a wonderful storyline and loved the characters from other books coming back to make an appearance. The characters were great s they pulled you into the story making you want more! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

A good character driven action suspense story with a strong competent woman protagonist. I liked that she had a credible character arc development and the relationship with the hero was key to her evolution. I will definitely check out more from this author since it is difficult to find someone who can realistically portray characters simultaneously skilled in martial arts, intelligent and emotionally aware.

I had a chance to snag a copy of this book before release and loved every minute. It’s not the usual rockstar bodyguard story—it’s so much more. Love, duty, honour, family and danger collide to create a book that is fast paced and enjoyable. Samet may have written about the music industry, but she hits this one out of the park. A wonderful addition to the Rider files series

I enjoyed this new ""Rider Files" story! This is such a great read and highly addictive!!! I love the characters and the plot! It has strong characters and a plot with suspense, action and amazing twists. Billy Jean and Ethan are great. I like how the relationship between them developed over the course of the story.

January 24, 2021This author was new to me, so I was not sure what to expect. The plot sounded interesting and even though this was number 5 in a series, the blurb assured me all the books could be read as standalone.
I enjoyed the characters, the challenges that they faced as well as the storyline. I would recommend for a read and will be looking to acquire the books in the series.

This was fun! A little action, and little adventure, throw in a strong woman and you’re set! I like that the author makes the romance believable, slow and realistic. The action and fight scenes are believable also, because even the most skilled fighters get a punch landed on them. I enjoyed it and recommend!

No surprises
No surprises in the ending, but the journey kept me reading. Billy's background made her more likeable, and the family man / rockstar was truly unbelievably a nice guy. (Not a realistic scenario in my experience., though his journey from vice to nice is described. )There is some sex scenes that i skimmed past, though thankfully not prolonged.

This is my first book in this series and by this author. We do get multiple perspectives here and can tell there are previous books in the series. This is a spicy romance between a female bodyguard and male rockstar. I enjoyed his attitude towards women and his employees. It was fun watching him as a father. This was a mystery that I enjoyed the suspense for and trying to figure out the culprit.

Love Bily Jean and how she is the bodyguard in this story making it so different and exciting that I couldn't put it down. There is suspense and danger and the romance and attraction just adds to the edge of the story.

I loved this book. I love how the story keeps you gripped all the way through. I love how the romance between the characters grow. I would definitely recommend this book to romance lovers.
