Writing is my bliss and I try to write every day. I started with two publishers who I learned a lot from. Now I self publish. I like the control it gives me over release dates and book covers.
Ms. Kathleen, I enjoyed all 10 of The Kavanagh brother's stories! However, Shea's was special! He fell in love with the most unlikely lady that was to wed another. She was left unable to walk after the bull ( leo) ran her down on the train platform. Shea Kavanagh had purchased the Bull and was readying him on the train for Fort Worth ( home), when something caused leo to break free and run into Phoebe was a mail order bride waiting on mr. Rank. After th accident Mr. Rank didn't appear or show up for her. Shea immediately took the matter into his hands, first feeling responsible, because Leo was his Bull, and then Phoebe's intended never showing up. He put her up in Ms. Carroll's boarding house where he was also staying, got doctors too take care of her. Phoebe, note she couldn't move her legs, and two doctors told her would probably not walk again! Shea, got help with caring for her and finally convinced her to come to Texas with him. Dee had been her caregiver in Abeliene, but couldn't take the trip to Texas. She suggested Adel and Jasper, who turned out to be all wrong and was only along for the ride and money! They also met Mrs. Burns and her daughter on the train. Another couple of money searching, especially, the mother. Then there was Mary who helped with Phoebe on train more than her paid caregivers Adel and Jasper. Mary was caring for an elderly lady in the train to see her children. The train was held up by train robbers. They made all passengers leave the train and Adel, left Phoebe behind on the floor of their birth. Shea, looked, asked until he found her on the floor, he told the robbers she couldn't walk and he had to carry her. By now he had had enough of Adel and Jasper and fired them both. One of the robbers( "Brown hat") had taken pity on Phoebe and allowed her to keep her cross around her neck and also, he did let the other robbers break her wheelchairAs they threw luggage from the train. The sheriff at the next stop Farming and deputy got on to question the passengers about the robbery, Adel anger about being fired and The Burns wanting to get closer to Shea lied and told the sheriff Phoebe knew the on in the "Brown hat"! Sheriff Farming was rude and nasty, Shea try hard and held his peace. Mary's passenger died the morning after the hold up! Shea then hired her to help with Phoebe. Shea told Mary he needed help and had to wire his brothers, so as soon as they reached Parsons he got off and sent his telegram and hired a lawyer! The sheriff in this town was Yardley and was just as rude and nasty. They even put Phoebe in a jail cell. I'm always telling too much. Teagan Kavanagh came to help his brother in Parsons. Shea, Phoebe and Mary all back in Texas and the story ends well!! Told too much in my review. All brothers story's were great! Thanks Ms.Kathleen, you have that way of bring me right in the story!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Well I'm just going to protest. The series is over!!!! NO, say it isn't so!!!!! I was hoping that Cookie, Mary, Dolly and Donald Dill would have books. I have adored the series of the Kavanagh brothers! I guess I will just have to re-read the books back-to-back now.
Shea went on a cattle drive with Rafferty (the book just prior to this one). He stayed behind to look at a bull. Unfortunately the bull was spooked when they were loading it onto the train for passage back to Texas. The bull gets away and tramples Phoebe Kagan. The resulting injury is a serious one. Phoebe is paralyzed now. Not only that but she was a mail-order bride and her intended runs from the train station when she is injured.
The author did a wonderful job of weaving an enchanting tale for Shea and Phoebe. I enjoyed every page. I loved the Christian theme as well. It just goes to show that even though bad things happen to good people, He is always there.
This story is written in a dual POV format. Getting that glimpse of the characters' thoughts really helps me to thoroughly understand the character so much better.
This is a story that anyone can read. While it is a part of a series, you don't have to read the prior ones to enjoy this. That being said though, why would you want to skip out on discovering the magical world of the Kavanagh's!
The last of the Kavanagh Brothers finds a wife, when Shea and Rafferty drive a herd to Abilene. Shea stays behind to buy a bull, but when he tries to load it on the rail car it gets away causing havoc around the train station. They finally get the bull caught and loaded with a woman still being on the ground. Shea demanded the Conductor go ahead and ship the bull without Shea on board, as he needed to see to the injured woman. He carried her to the local doctor's office, where it was discovered she had a broken spinal cord. Shea felt badly for Phoebe Kagan, especially when he learned that she was a mail order bride, and her groom had slipped out of town after the accident not claiming her. Shea took her to the local boarding house, found someone to help take care of her, and found another doctor for a second opinion. Her injuries turned out to be permanent, but the new doctor ordered her a wheelchair. After several weeks Phoebe was well enough to travel with Shea convinced her to finally return with him to the Kavanagh Ranch. The trip would take several weeks by train, that ended up being riddled with problem after problem. This was an exciting read holding your attention easily until the end.

Shea Kavanagh accepts responsibility for the serious injury suffered by Phoebe Kagan when a bull he was transporting trampled her. This was an interesting look at how things have changed around personal injury since those times : nowadays she would have been able to sue him for millions of dollars for her injuries, then she would likely have just been sent to a sanitarium where her treatment would have been very poor. Also other people's view of those with handicaps has changed significantly since those days, from being treated with distrust to a broader acceptance of their place in society. Shea also underwent a transformation from a young cowboy not interested in forming any long term relationships to gradually falling for Phoebe despite her handicap. Throw in a train robbery where Phoebe was a main suspect with the Kavanagh family required to throw their weight into proving her innocence to the romantic mix this story had brought the Kavanagh brother's series that I've enjoyed to a conclusion. I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however this did not influence my review of the book and I also purchased a copy on its release.
This was a perfect ending to the series about the Kavanaugh brothers. Shea, the youngest brother, finds himself caring for a woman who was crippled when she was trampled by a bull he had just bought. He is full of guilt when they realize she will never walk again and he vows to take care of her. They face many trials including a train robbery, but he brings her to his Texas ranch where his family accepts her and makes her a part of them. There is such wonderful emphasis on the love and support of family. It is interesting, though sad, to see how people at that time reacted to someone who is handicapped. We were able to get insight from her point of view as to what it meant to be crippled and have her choices taken away from her, but she is able to overcome because of her faith in God and His goodness, and the support of the Kavanaugh family. This is a must read if you have read the previous books, and if you haven't i would definitely recommend them.

Shea is assisting with the boarding of the train of the bull he's purchased for the family ranch when it runs amok, knocking over Phoebe, she's a mail order bride, but her groom doesn't wait around when she's injured. Shea, feeling guilty and concerned, carries her to the doctor. It's bad news, she's paralyzed from damage to her back. Shea takes her to the boarding house and organises care, but no one asks Phoebe , what she wants. It's arranged that she'll go to the family ranch. The train journey isn't easy or without problems. Does Shea have feelings for her? What does she feel for him? A good read from Kathleen. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Shae Kavanagh is the youngest brother in the Kavanagh family. Shae and Phoebe meet in an interesting and tragic way. Shae stays behind after the cattle drive to purchase a bull for the ranch. While loading the bull onto the train the bull accidentally runs over Phoebe who was an abandoned mail order bride. I love the way the author brought these two together and how even though Phoebe's life is changed forever Shae and her start out as friends then become so much more and she gains a wonderful family in the process. This is a heartbreakingly beautiful love story with likable characters and a story filled with tragedy, strength, danger, romance, and a perfect ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This one was beautifully written. The story and characters were so enigmatic! I loved how Shea took such care of Phoebe. He at first felt responsible, but grew to respect and love her as time went on. The tender love they shared was beautiful. Phoebe didn't feel she was worthy of love at first, but grew to realize everyone is worthy of love and happiness. Shea knew he could show her a happy and beautiful life. Now they just have to get together and realize all life has in store for them! This is a fitting ending for this series. I am going to be missing it, but know that Kathleen Ball will bring us another fantastic series.
Kathleen Ball has done it again and penned a beautiful, sweet and heartwarming story full of action and lots of human emotions. This is Shea Kavanagh and Phoebe Kagan's story, and the character development for each of them is outstanding. This is a story of a debilitating accident, learning to live with a disability, a train robbery, mistreatment, rejection, danger, faith and romance. After her injury, Shea invites Phoebe to the Kavanagh Ranch. Will their relationship development into a HEA even though Shea always vowed and declared he was never going to marry. Be sure to read this wonderful story to find out. It is a real page turner, one which may have you reaching for a tissue.
Shea Kavanagh ends up in Abeline Kansas buying a bull named Leo who does not want to load onto the train so he tramples Phoebe leaving her unable to walk. She is in Abeline as a mail order bride but when he sees she gets trampled he leaves her there so Shea takes over her care being that he owned the bull that caused her injury. She is having a hard time accepting her injury but she knows that God is with her and Shea is willing to take care of her. There are some twists along the way but when they arrive she is embraced by his loving family and soon she is falling for Shea but what can she offer him and could he fall for her. Lovely story with great characters.

This is the last of this wonderful series. I have read and enjoyed each and every one of them. Shae is the youngest brother in this clan. After Shae and his brother drove their cattle to market and purchasing a new bull to take back to their ranch the bull spooks and runs down and injures the beautiful Phoebe. She has just arrived by train as a mail order bride. After discovering her injury as crippled her legs creating her inability to stand and walk her groom abandons her. You will greatly enjoy discovering how Shae and Phoebe find their happily ever after. I’m sure going to miss this family!
Just as good as the other nine. Loved all these books with so much love and strength of family. You will not regret getting it. I already bought it but was happy to get an ARC. Shea is just as engaging as his brother. And all the wives have been such strong willed women. Pheobe is a wonderful character that survived a tragedy with optimism and grace. I cant recommend one of these books over the other. They are all a wonderful read. You need them all!

Shea- returning home with a bull from Ks Pheobe - came to ks as a m.o.b. after the accident the groom wanted nothing to do with her. I throughly enjoyed reading this captivating story that is fantastically written with unforgettable characters. I loved how the author made her heroine strong but also showed her doubts but her strength and belief in God out weighed her doubts/insecurities. Like most of this author's stories when it rain it pours! Their story has a loving HEA!
A wonderful end to the series but still wanting more.
An outstanding ending to the series. What a lovely book to finish this wonderful series. I loved each and every book. In this one, Phoebe has a terrible accident and Shea steps up and does everything he can for her. This is just the start of all the action and drama. The author has written such splendid characters and a powerful story about love in many different forms. This book in fact the whole series is really a must-read I highly recommend this faith-based jewel. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Shae Kavanagh is the last of the brothers to find his true love. He stays behind after the cattle drive to obtain a bull for the ranch. When the bull he bought gets loose whole trying to load on the train and runs into a young woman he feels responsible. He stays behind to tend to her needs. Will she wear on him? They enjoy each other's friendship will it develop into something more? This is a short, clean romance with a HEA.

Being injured by Sheas bull, she finds her mail order husband abandoned her. Shea feeling responsible does all the things a Kavanagh would do but he didn't realize his heart would get taken. Her faith constantly pulls her thru the conflicts. A story with drama, adventure and love. I truly loved this book and certainly tugged at my emotions all the way thru.

Kathleen Ball has given us a heroine that I’ve not seen before especially in a western historical. Her injury would have felled a weaker person but Phoebe refused to let a devastating back injury bring her down. Shae is truly the hero we all want to know and picture in our minds. Unfortunately, being paralyzed is not the only misfortune that Phoebe must face. Lot of action, humor, mistreatment and love in this latest Kavanagh family tale.
I really enjoyed this book. Shea was great in the way he took care of a woman who was trampled by his prized bull who was being loaded on a train car. Shea saw that all her needs were tended to before she boarded the train including taking her to the doctor for medical treatment and purchasing a wheel chair for her because of her injuries. There was lots of activity on the train trip, including an armed robbery. I will not give anything else away. I hate to ruin the plot for anyone.
Oh I hated to see this book end because I fell in love with both the main characters, Shea and Phoebe. A strong and different storyline, which kept me entertained throughout the book. I enjoyed catching up with the other 9 brothers and their families too. It's been a wonderful series to read and it has a satisfying ending with a HEA for all. JudyE
It warms my heart, as a mother of a handicapped child, to see handicapped people included in ordinary life stories. I'm glad to see Shea find his true love and have a family. These characters touched my heart and made me happy. I struggled with them and felt joy as they overcame. Te stress and trials that came there way were experienced by me as they went through them. A wonderful ending to a great series about worthy cowboys.
shea is trying to get a bull on the rail car, pheobe is standing on the walk and is run over by the bull and the man is was to be his mail order bride does nothing to help her. shea comes and has the doctor called then he takse her to the hotel/ she is told she will not walk again shea agrees to take her to texas with him and hirs some help for her. , but things happen this is a good story
Shea helped Phoebe laugh 🤣 and set an example of what a protector and godly man looks like; also, there was some ableism in the context of her injury and her wheelchair thing, but the MMC treated her with respect and didn’t act ableist at all. Also, Dolly, the kids, and the other girls in the town were cute 🥰, supportive friends.
Best quote: “See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.” Isaiah 40:10 NIV
Shea and Phoebe were sweet, They were perfect together, alot of people were out to get her, Shea stayed with her and protected her, its a great series, I hate to see it end. Thank you Kathleen Ball, I will miss the Kavanagh's, too. Maybe a Christmas Kavanagh story.
Great Series! This is not your typical frontier romance. There is physical hardship, love, and dedication with a train robbery thrown into the mix! I love how Phoebe finds the true love of family that was always missing from her life! Don’t miss this new short, sweet, inspirational romance from Kathleen Ball!
When true love finds you, some things don't matter
I really enjoyed this book so much. This started out on a sad note with a serious injury. When two people get to know each other ,many handicaps can be overlooked. A young lady professes her faith in God and her inner beauty shines through.
This is the first book I have read in this series. I know it's the last book in the series. I love Kathleen Ball and I follow her on Amazon. I got an email on her new book and I had to read it. I absolutely loved this book. Now I will start reading this series from the beginning.
An entertaining and action packed story. A wonderful ending to the series of Kavanagh Brothers. Finally Shea comes into his own, finding a bride in a most unlikely way. Loved the great story telling, along with the perfect amount of Bible verses.

I have loved this series so much, getting to know all the Kavanaugh Brothers and how they meet their wives. These books were so enjoyable to read during staying in and social distancing last year 2020. If you like historical romances this is a wonderful series. Kudos to the author👏👏👏👏
I have enjoyed what books I have read in this series so far. Shea has a bull he got and it was going back to the ranch on a train but then the bull went a little wild and he cause Phoebe to get hurt and she ends up paralyzed. Shea feels responsible he sees that she is took care of. Even takes her to the ranch with him plus the lady he hires to take care of her. I recommend the books.
