I've known Keely for her whole life. She's my deceased best friend's little sister, now my best friend by default, and the closest thing I have left to anything resembling family.
Watching out for her should be easy. Second Nature. Something I've always done. Why, with Austin gone, does it suddenly feel so different?
I tell myself she's off limits on a daily basis- but there is one tiny problem.
Keely is all grown up, and she doesn't feel the same way.
She's smart, funny, smoking hot, and desperately trying to get into my pants-and my heart.

Sometimes known as "the mermaid author", when she's not writing in the hot tub or reading by the pool, Rayanna can be found bingeing Netflix on her kindle, while crocheting a blanket for someone she loves.
Romance genre: Daddy kink; brother's best friend Series: Daddy of the Month Club Length: 148 pages
Plot: Keely is grieving the loss of her brother, killed in action while at war. One day, her brother's best friend, Jasper, shows up suddenly at her apartment. She's really mad because he didn't make it home for the funeral and hasn't contacted her for the past 6 months, and he is the one person she thought she could rely on. Jasper is determined to be friends with her again, even though he has feelings for her, and Kelly would like something more (once she gets over her anger). But things are definitely not smooth sailing.
Commentary: Jasper is so stubborn! I've never understood the brother's best friend trope; if the best friend is a bad guy, then I would get it (but why would you be best friends with someone like that?). But an otherwise decent guy? Why would a brother not want that for his sister? And Keely's brother is dead, so it's doubly confusing. The letter at the end was a nice touch, but I would be a little peeved that he felt like he needed permission to date me.
Each month, a new addition to the Daddy of the Month Club series will feature a different ‘daddy’ and one of the ladies introduced in the series prequel. A group of ladies has formed a ‘book club,’ and they meet Lisa’s house. They are over lame pick-up lines at the bars and discovering they each have a passion for reading daddy dom romance stories, they have formed a friendship—over drinks, good food, and naughty romances.
Keely Whittle’s world would be shattered again on October 9, 2018, when she is informed that her last living relative, her older brother, was killed in action. The other trio to their three musketeers is Jasper O’Malley, who is also in the Army and deployed in Afghanistan. So for the last six months, Keely has barely been functioning, and what a shock when Jasper shows up at her door.
The plot will have so much angst, tension, and passion-held-in-check, between Keely and Jasper. She has always had a crush on him, and he has been the leading man in her fantasies—but she isn’t alone in her feelings or fantasies. There is a combination of relief and anger at his arrival. He wasn’t there for her when she had to bury Austin, and now that he is here, what does it mean? He took early retirement from the Army and is ready to camp out on her couch—and her life—but by his rules.
It has always been a standing joke about his Irish charm and luck, and when he wins her tickets to a concert with her favorite band, she is shocked. When he goes with her—their night will be loaded with angst and turn to passion—but what happens when he tells her it can’t happen again?
“Just call me Jasper ‘the Leprechaun’ O’Malley, your own personal good luck charm.”
“Okay, look.” I sighed. “You are Keely Whittle, Austin Whittle’s little sister. You are and always have been off-limits. The answer is no, Keely. We can not sully our relationship like that. You are the only person I have left in this world that gives a lick about me. Sex and relationships of any kind would just muddy the water and make things messy.”
“Jasper didn’t get to say we were friends and act like the picture-perfect version of my fantasy boyfriend. He didn’t get to have his Lucky Charms and eat them too.”
The chemistry between Jasper and Keely just oozes off the pages, and while she pushes his buttons, he does his best to try and hold her off. He does hold her to the fire and gives her an OTK spanking for driving after drinking, he takes her to the concert and gives in to their mutual attraction, and he tries to steer clear in honor of his best friend and her brother. If two people need and want each other, it is Jasper and Keely—will a message give them what they both want and need?
I love the book club ladies' sassiness and how they have Keely’s back and are ready to go after Jasper for how he is treating her—even if it is respectful and not giving in to their passion.
So I liked this book but I did have some ups and downs with jasper and keely.... I think he did go over the top with not wanting to go over the line... but at the same time it was understandable... for her part it just felt like she didn't want to see where he was coming from n when she tells her friends what's going on it paints him as a dick without explaining that he has having hang ups but did actually want her. On top of it all she comes off as really bratty even when she is trying to act all hard and like super woman. They both get their act together tho so I'm good
This should have been a knock out the park for me, brother's best friend, military, dd/lg, age gap troupes. And yet, I just could not get into the story. The dd/lg was barely there as was the maybe hint at bdsm.
I never connected with either Jasper and Keely. She was overly whiny and kinda useless, he was better, but I never felt strength or control from him. He played into her games in a kid way, not the way a dd/lg should, her book group was not very interesting and encouraged her bad ideas.
This is a good, well written romance. The character are well developed although a little unbelievable at times. Why did Lisa not help her more since she was the one called when got Keely got her world ending news? Could Jasper not have sent some letters, emails, texts to let her know he would be there? I enjoyed thread and hope you will also.
Allysa Hart and Rayanna Jamison created a Beautiful Love story of two people who lost the same person to the war in Afghanistan. Jasper is bound and determined to keep Keely at arms length but she is bound and determined that Jasper is who she is supposed to spend her life with! This is a beam DDLG love story
Jasper and Keeley were and explosion of passion just waiting to happen.... But you know can't schtup your best friend's little sister. This is a journey of healing from death and submitting to passion and love. Brilliant sorry
I knew when I read the prequel to this series that I was going to love it! Jasper and Keely were so fun and also aggravating. Their story is hot, bittersweet and hilarious. I also love the girls from the book club and cannot wait to read their stories!!
