Official job working security? Check. Dragon sidekick along to keep her out of real danger? Check. Mythological monsters let loose on the town? Oh, crud.
It's been rough adapting to her new lifestyle, but Danni's gotten used to the fangs and venom, and found strength within to overpower her worst enemy: her own self-doubt. Now she's on her first official job as a member of Rider's security firm. Assigned as security at Gruff's Bar and Grille in Moonlight, West Virginia, Danni is bored to tears until a man stumbles in, missing a few important body parts. The overprotective Rider wants to take her off the case, but she's determined to prove she can handle the job and convince her stubborn sire she's tougher than he gives her credit for. She's taken on shifters and gangbangers, and earned the moniker of Danni the Teste Slayer. Surely she can take on whatever is preying on the people of Moonlight...
*What happened to the witch they captured near the end of the last book? Rider was supposed to interrogate her about Ryan.
Danni is so fucking selfish. It’s all, “me, me, me” and it almost seems like she goes out of her way to hurt Rider. I find it impossible to believe that she loves him. It seems like she wants him around when she’s horny and that’s about it. (Although it’s beginning to look like almost any male would suffice) It may be part of her succubus nature but it sucks (pun intended) She shows more consideration to almost everyone else around her. She was her “own person” for years so why not take some time off to adjust to being a vampire. Oh, and why is the mate bond so strong for Rider while Danni doesn’t seem to be effected at all? Shouldn’t the emotions run both ways?
Query: I know there are drugs that increase testosterone so why can’t Danni make do with one of them?
The scene with the dildo is hysterical.
I just got to the part of the book where once again Danni is suspicious that Rider is keeping secrets which pisses her off. Why is it okay for her not to reveal her attraction to Daniel and others to Rider? That’s her secret although it’s becoming pretty obvious to others. She’s so duplicitous, an unfortunate trait I see in a lot of female MCs.
Why is Danni so dense about other’s feelings? Ginger told her Daniel was in love with her and he’s kinda, sorta indicated it himself a few times. Yet when she discovers he left the cabin due to her and Rider’s vociferous lovemaking and looks like hell the next day she maintains they are “just friends.”
Okay, Danni finally redeems herself and uses her head to save the day. Have to wait and see if this bout of maturity will last.
2.5 stars. Two reasons why I read 4 of these books. One, they were bundled as one Kindle Unlimited. Two, I wanted to see if the FMC ever developed any redeeming qualities. Man, she was terrible. I'm over the "I know you ALL have been in the magical world and I should listen to you but NO ONE tells me what to do" BS from newly turned FMCs. "I have to keep my human job no matter how many people can get hurt" is another annoyance. Why don't they ask "How can I add value in my new situation?"
At the end of book 4, she appears to have become more bearable but I don't care to read further to confirm.
Gotta say I’m a huge supernatural fan which reading these books is making me think this amazing author is a huge fan and book 4 felt as close as you can get on a Winchester brothers journey. Loved the twists etc Think also with our leading lady Danni she needed this, it’s helped her understand and figure her demons out. I wanna say it’s been the best book out the series for me so far
I love these books and this one did not disappoint! I did feel as though I was missing a lot of information from Christian. They talked about a lot of things that I didn’t read in the previous books. I even went back to see if I missed a book but I hadn’t. I realized at the end where it describes other books by the author that the missing information was in a different series than Dani’s. Otherwise it was a fun read.
Danni starts off as a shallow insecure irritating character but now it all makes sense.
Danni needs a break so takes a job in a quiet town. Things start to go wrong. Great twists and turns. Really enjoyed this and looking forward to the next book
This is a well written paranormal romance packed with a lot of action. The characters are awesome. This ones storyline us quite different then the others. I also got my wish from my last review.
The novelty of the first book is long gone and the characters are not getting any deeper. It is still very much 2-dimensional... shame. It has now become not worth the time reading it. I won’t be continuing with this series.
OMG I love ❤️ 😍 this series. I was way wrong in my assumptions about the villain du jour, but that just leaves the author with options for a future storyline. Good 📚!!
This has all the makings of an action movie. I was enthralled by all the lores coming into play. Danni and her crew was kept on their toes and was not let go until the very end. The next book is bringing the promise of dealing with her mother. Ooooo can’t wait!
Not my normal cup of tea but I love it. I'm an Afterlife kinda girl but this is a brilliant series. I'm also severely ADD and through four books I haven't taken a break reading other than to sleep.
Its rare a book makes me laugh out loud. This book had me crying in laughter. The scenes are brilliantly written. Characters are relatable and relationships are grown.
Great series and one I looking forward to carrying on with.
Murder mayhem monsters zombies witches werewolves etc, fast story read it at one sitting, I love danni and rider and can't wait for the next installment
Wow, what another amazing book from this very amazing author!! Just like the others, I could not put it down and can't wait to start on the next book!!
Loved Every word from the beginning of this book till the end💓💓💓 Easy to follow through on everything happening in the story. It's just as fun as the previous 3 books. I'm loving it🤭✨💖🤗
This series truly has my whole heart. I'm so surprised it's not more popular, it definitely should be! Action, romance, comedy. It's so so good. I'm begging more people to read it. ❤️❤️
Was good, took a little longer to read as I was distracted with health issues. Interesting story but the villain I thought was a little predictable. Kinda guessed it about 1/3 of the way in.
