Dr. David Jeremiah, founder of Turning Point Radio and Television Ministries and senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church, felt God’s calling on his life at a very early age. Born February 13, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio, Dr. Jeremiah was raised in a family deeply committed to ministry. At the age of eleven, Dr. Jeremiah and his family moved to Dayton, Ohio where his father, Dr. James T. Jeremiah, was the Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and in 1953 became the President of Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio.

As Dr. Jeremiah was sensitive to God’s leading in his life, he followed in his father’s footsteps. In 1963, Dr. Jeremiah received a Bachelor of Arts from Cedarville College. In that same year, Dr. Jeremiah married his college sweetheart, Donna Thompson who also was attending Cedarville College as a business major. He went on to earn a Masters degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1967. He completed additional graduate work at Grace University and was granted the Doctor of Divinity degree from Cedarville College in 1981.

In 1969, Dr. Jeremiah began Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and developed a Christian school grades K through 12. In the 12 years he served as pastor, Blackhawk Baptist Church grew from 7 families to 1300 members. He also launched The Bible Hour television program.

Dr. Jeremiah heeded God’s call, and in 1981 he and his family moved to California where he became the senior pastor of Scott Memorial Baptist Church, now Shadow Mountain Community Church.

Shadow Mountain Community Church is one of the largest churches in San Diego County. It is also the home of Southern California Seminary and Christian Unified Schools.

As Dr. Jeremiah began his ministry at Shadow Mountain, he felt God’s calling to continue the broadcast ministry he started in Fort Wayne. In 1982, Turning Point Ministries became a reality.

Today, Turning Point's 30-minute radio program is heard nationally and internationally on over 1800 stations and translator/satellators. In recognition of Dr. Jeremiah’s commitment to teaching the Word of God, he received the Broadcaster of the Year Award in 1999 from the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), in August 2002, received the Award of Merit from the Western Chapter of National Religious Broadcasters for Excellence in Broadcasting and Faithfulness in Service, and in 2006 Turning Point received the Best Radio Teaching Program Award. Dr. Jeremiah has served on the Board of Directors for the NRB since 1996.

Turning Point launched a television program in 1982 in San Diego and went nationwide in 2000. Now seen around the world through cable and satellite technology, as well as on terrestrial stations all across the United States, conservative estimates suggest that close to 200 million homes around the world have access to Dr. Jeremiah's Bible teaching each week. Turning Point Television offers a half-hour Bible study message and a full hour worship service with the same great preaching. Carried on several national and international networks such as TBN, ION, and INSP, Turning Point Television has most recently been added to Middle East TV Network and BET, the Black Entertainment Network.

Dr. Jeremiah is a sought-after conference speaker for organizations around the country. He frequently speaks at Cedarville College, Dallas Theological Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, Billy Graham Training Center, Phil Waldrep’s Senior Adult Celebrations and numerous NFL, NBA and Baseball chapels.

Along with his speaking schedule around the country, Dr. Jeremiah also finds time to fulfill another passion in his life, writing. His books are always gripping and right to the point. Some of his books include Escape the Coming Night, The Power of Encouragement, What the Bible Says About Angels, Prayer The Great Adventure, which brought him The Gold Medallion Award in 1998, God In You, Gifts from God

Dr. Jeremiah offers encouragement to Christians in the midst of suffering. Referencing the current pandemic as well as other incidents in believer's lives, he reminds us of God's omnipresence and of His omnipotence. Some graphics display a little strangely in the Kindle version, but I'm certain they make more sense in the print edition. As a young child, I learned the verse, "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you." This is Dr. Jeremiah's point. Those familiar with his writing know he engages his audience as he shares Scripture and applications from Scripture. Christians living in an age of or going through a circumstance creating uncertainty will appreciate the author's words of encouragement. (3.5 stars)

I always enjoy Dr. Jeremiah’s books and teachings. We all experience times in life when we feel God has forgotten us. We aren’t alone, here are a few biblical characters that felt the same way. Hannah, Moses, Job and David. The good news is God never forgets us! I will read this book again, and recommend it to others.

A short but encouraging book about God's faithfulness when you feel like God has forgotten you. The author provided some practical advice in the later chapters about how to use scripture and prayer journals to help one remember God's promises and those moments in one's past where God had not forgotten you. The book is a quick read and likely helpful to help comfort those grieving, alone or facing some of life's challenges.

An excellent read that is organized into short, accessible chapters. One does not need to be actively involved in wondering where God is at present to benefit from this book by Dr David Jeremiah, one of the only TV Bible teachers I will watch. I found my own concerns from both the past and the present in these pages.

I bought this for someone who needs to be encouraged in a time of perceived silence and darkness. I must confess that I carefully read it before I gifted it! Now I need to put a copy on my own keepers shelves. I like it in hardcover because it is easier for me to look up specific concerns with a Table of Contents and real pages that turn more quickly.

There are nice artistic renderings that make the pages seem more open, too, but the deep content is what makes this book a top read for me.

Definitely Christian, with references to both Old & New Testament texts.

Some good points but.....

There are good points to learn, know and recall . There are those areas that would cause a new believer to close the book forever. The title says God has not forsaken you, but then write that God forsook Jesus without one ounce of explanation. That s a contradiction and God doesn't do that. If it isn't understood it becomes lost and its pointless . Leaders may forget or not know the affect that wrong or omitted nfo can have on a hurting lost individual searching for help and relationship with God.

A really beautifully put together book. Lovely art and quotes. Nicely designed. The book was also encouraging and did help me through my hard lonely and anxious season. I only took one star away because I felt the author couldn’t personally relate to the struggles and pain. It felt less personable as they cited a lot of others examples or stories. Which nothing wrong with that, but I think I would enjoy it more if I knew the author experienced what I did. Otherwise well done! And I enjoyed the read.

A wonderful reminder to all of us of something we may forget from time to time

Dr Jeremiah has written a wonderful book reminding us of a very important truth, God has not forgotten us. No matter where we are in life's journey, or who we are, sometimes we need to be reminded of that truth.

This is a wonderful, easy to read book. It's filled with poignant stories and relevant but timeless scriptures. I loved it.

Encouragement for difficult times

I enjoyed the practical examples of people who walked through uncertainty with God. The Scripture references also gave me verses to come back to again and again as needed. The practical application steps also challenged me to apply what I learned in my I've as I am walking through some uncertainty.

This was an encouraging book - reminding me that life is full of brokeness and uncertainty, but there is one thing for certain God knows exactly where I am and the number of hairs on my head and Christ is my only source of joy, strength, peace, comfort, and forgiveness. He never forgets and He knows our greatest needs.

Good encouragement!

This book is such a good reminder to the believing reader to go back to the source of our comfort, the Word of God. God has not left us but many times our circumstances will make us feel as if we are all alone.
This is a book to pass along to others and could definitely be used to help new believers grow in their walk!

Thank you God for never forgetting us

I love this book. An excellent reminder to us all that no matter how dark it seems. Even when we feel forgotten, our God is always there. I have lost so many loved ones, and feel so isolated and alone. Thank you for this reminder of my God, who never forgets me and is here for me always!! God bless you, David Jeremiah!!

This was displayed in our city's library. It's rare that a Christian book is displayed there, and it looked new. For those reasons I picked it up. It was new - published this year. The messages are good not only for if you're feeling alone but for everyone.

This book has some solid, real life, practical advice. Had it not been for the “disease is caused by sin” diatribe in Chapter 7, I would have given it five stars. That sort of doctrine so easily blurs into d’anergies political agenda-driven dogma.

Very encouraging and uplifting book that reminded me no matter what I'm going through, God sees it all and is at work in my life, even if I am unaware of everything He is doing. This encourages me to trust Him more, even if He seems silent.

We lost our son unexpectedly last January and although I definitely felt God’s peace and comfort, at times I just felt forgotten by God. This nook came at a good time in my walk. It’s an easy read, and offers some things I was already doing and other suggestions to help me cope with our loss.
