I tried to keep going because I wanted to see how the sex was, but couldn’t make myself. I didn’t care much for the writing. I also wasn’t a big fan of the kinks here, but that’s totally personal preference, so everyone else may like it. But yeah I didn’t like the yes sir thing or the crawling or stuff like that. Oh fuuuuuuuck yes. I started this series just to read this book (I’m obsessive and have to go in order) and the author definitely saved the best for last.
I wanted to read this because one of the MCs, Archer, has a small dick. Weird kink, I know, but I just neeeeeded to read about it. Turns out there’s not too many out there and some of them are geared toward the meaner side of humiliation and that’s not really for me. This series is all about the sweet humiliation and I am so here for it.
Archer gets a roommate, Declan, who just got out of a relationship when he found his ex cheating on him. Both of them aren’t looking for a relationship but Declan notices Archer checking out his package like right off the bat when he’s “interviewing” him for the room. But I mean - he’s wearing grey sweatpants with no underwear and has a huge dick... how can you not look?!? 👀
Anyway, Declan is always making sexual innuendos toward Archer and started from day 1. He noticed how Archer got all flustered and turned on and he just kept doing it to get a reaction out of him.
Eventually when Declan learns that Archer likes to be humiliated - more specifically he really likes to be humiliated about his small cock but not in a mean way where the other person really has an issue with it... but just to do it for the purpose of embarrassing Archer... if that makes sense?

It wasn’t just the general limits talk before/during their first scene together and that was it. I really appreciated that and it made me even more comfortable when Declan would constantly make fun of Archer’s small dick, call him slut, and use him for his own needs. We know that Archer enjoys the fuck out of it so it made me love reading it even more.
The only thing I wished there was more of was the relationship side. They agreed they weren’t seeing other people at the beginning of the book but also didn’t say they were actually in a “relationship/dating” toward the end either. At the end of the book during a photo shoot they were doing, Declan decided to say the I Love You then and there and it felt a bit out of the blue. It was at literally 99% and the last page in the book. I think I needed a few extra chapters to feel that their relationship progressed to that stage. I wanted to feel the more permanent side to their relationship. Meh.
Oh and one more thing. Archer mentioned he wanted Declan to use him when he was out of it in subspace or even when he was asleep. To possibly wake up in the middle of getting fucked. I needed more of this. Omg it would’ve been so hot to read that. 😰
So yes, this book is my fave in the series even with all of the potential scenes missing. It was still so hot that my panties are now melted and are a puddle on the floor. Maybe it’s just me and the mood I’m in now but I haven’t read something that hot in awhile.

These guys were so entertaining and fun. I loved the way Declan pushed Archers button right from their first meeting where they become roommates.
Their interactions had a naughty deliciousness about them. It was so fun watching Archer blush and squirm at the way Declan spoke to him.
Bishop was chatty and helpful. Helping Declan when Archer was too shy. Their first phone call was hilarious.
I loved that Archer worked for Grant from the Bound and Controlled series. It was great to see him again as well as the cameos from Leashes and Lace crew.

The first time I tried to read this I just could not get into it for some reason. Because I loved the first 2 and liked the 3rd I decided to put it aside and try coming back to it later on. I'm glad I did.

I really really REALLY wanted to finish this one, but I just couldn't take it anymore. I'm not sure if it's the subject matter or the way the story was written, but, I was never able to get into this. The main characters hit it off immediately, were completely compatible in terms of personalities and fetishes, and didn't face any conflicts whatsoever. The plot basically consisted of nothing but (admittedly very sexy and sometimes outright hilarious) teasing, humiliating dirty talk, and sex. After a while I was just bored. I already know they're going to end up together so I'm happy ending the story where I did.
☆ I really liked Declan's personality. Even though he liked to be in control he was still very considerate. It was important for him to make sure that he didn't cross the line and that Archer was enjoying everything happening to him.
☆ I seriously wish I could've seen him in those gray sweatpants, omg... 😫

A fabulously hot book with both plot and sexual chemistry
This was hot and wonderful. It links in with the stories about the guys who work at Leashes and Lace as the guys live in the same town. The chemistry was incredible and I love the descriptions and the conversations between the characters. They are just perfect. A fab book and I hope we get a cameo or two of these guys another time.

WOW I’m blown away!!!
Okay yes I’m a BIG fan of this author. And I’m going to like whatever she writes but I wasn’t expecting to really love this one. Humiliation kink is a hard one for me. Adding in the body issue I was sure I would of struggled with it. The way Declan and Archer are together and how Declan gives him what he needs do sweetly changed my mind. It’s proven yet again, it’s all in the author’s connection to their characters and how they master their craft. The ending... so hot snd tender. Gave me happy tears. A huge thank you to M. A. Innes for showing me a new way to look at things.

Sweet humiliation
This book was an amazing addition to the series! Declan and Archer’s dynamic isn’t for everyone and may be triggering for some, but I really liked how M.A. Innes made humiliating seem sweet. It was fun to catch up with the L&L gang (especially Spencer) and get to learn more about Bishop. Looking forward to reading more about Declan and Archer in the future.

Lots of dirty, super steamy times in this one! The beginning was flirty and fun, lots of steam in the middle, and the end saw the characters expanding their relationship beyond their own little sphere. I adore the low-angst nature of the writing, but enough goes on that it doesn’t get boring.
This was a stand-alone, but if you’ve read other books by the author you’ll love the cameos. I have to say that my favorite part was the visit at the end of the book. It was fabulously perfect, and it left me wanting more. I hope we get to meet up with the whole crew again in the next book!

Archer looks innocent and very vanilla which has meant that Archer has kept his personal life private from his well-meaning coworkers. Conflicted
Archer and Declan were smoking hot. Like, blazing inferno hot. Right from the start these two burned up the pages. The way that Declan talks to Archer is absolutely everything I love in dirty talk. It was filthy, sexy and at times, even sweet. The size kink was everything I never knew I needed. I’d read this book again just for the sexy factor.
The plot, however, was a little light. I don’t even care that there wasn’t a ton of character development between Archer and Declan. I’m fine with a book being a down and dirty read with little to no plot, I’m all about it. There were parts here that seemed a little out of place. The photo shoot near the end seemed to come out of nowhere. I didn’t really see how it all fit in, other than as a vehicle for character cameos from other series. The ending of the book and a declaration of feelings seemed so abrupt that I turned a few pages to see if I was missing something. I just wish this had been wrapped up a little better.
Still, even with that, this book was so blazing hot that I’m willing to overlook that. If you’re looking for a sexy kink and some yummy dirty talk, read this book right now.

This started off really well, super super hot and filthy. Then, it got kind of repetitive and I pretty quickly lost interest because there was next to no development in the relationship between the characters but I decided to keep going. The last 50 pages are a total confusing cluster fuck mess that I don't understand how anyone allowed that to end up in a published book. Why on earth would you think it's a good idea to randomly bring up a dozen new characters from other books that presumably the reader doesn't know about because they aren't part of this series. But also, I just seemed so disjointed, like five chapters were cut off and we were dumped in the middle when all of a sudden we're going to a photoshoot with these random ass characters and it's a big deal, but we literally don't know what it's even for because it wasn't mentioned at all, until it was, but we were meant to know what was happening???

This book was the wonderful combination of BDSM kink, humor, and sweetness this author consistently provides. Insurance agent Archer rented a room to college student Declan, and it didn't take long for the men to find out just how perfectly matched they were. I appreciated how Declan recognized Archer's need to be humiliated and gave him just what he needed, without crossing the line or abusing his trust. They were sexy and adorable.
I loved the secondary characters, including several leading characters from other books by the author. They provided support and understanding to Archer and Declan, while. also adding humor to the story. And I adored seeing Declan and Archer start realizing that they were more than just roomies with benefits. These two were truly made for each other.

Archer and Declan meet when Declan shows up to rent a room in Archer's house. After overhearing a phone call, Declan quickly learns that Archer is attracted to him, is submissive, and into SPH. Fortunately, Declan is a dominant who is into the same kinks and a perfect match for Archer's needs. While there is a lot of humiliation and light impact play in this book, there are lots of laughs and also a growing and serious romance. While each book in the Beautiful Shame series stands alone, Archer and Declan's story is a solid end to the four-book humiliation/romance series.

While I did enjoy the couple, their relationship was incredibly rushed and their initial meeting was borderline creepy ... if one of them had been a woman, it would have been a setup for a "get out of there girl, he may or may not be a serial killer" story... but if you accept that premise and go with it, the two are cute and hot together.
The ending and addition of all the leather & lace characters felt forced to me and didn't really work, especially with how short a time our couple had been together. But I know Innes, like to let her book universes mesh, so...

No.... where's the rest...lol. I could have read so much more of these two. Those last chapters were highly entertaining, and I need to know all the things that happened so for me it was an abrupt ending and left me dying to know everyone's reactions. Believe me I'll be reading the short that is available. I definitely loved the dynamics between these two. Great book!

I really liked the first half of this book.
I love humiliation and praise kinks in books. I was really getting into Archer and Declan's dynamic. It just kind of fell flat for me. The relationship building was lacking. The MCs didn't spend enough time outside of kink in my opinion.
Unless I'm in the mood for erotica, I'm going to give up this author.

Dang!
This book was a sweet as it was hot. Archer and Declan had my kindle steaming from the start but watching their relationship unfold was pure feels. I loved the way the other two series' were woven in. Love a crossover!

As always for Innes, the smut is engaging and well-written with the expected plot. However, the last 10% is extremely confusing if you have not read any of their works as Shaw Montgomery. That name-dropping ending was kind of a let down for an otherwise great bdsm book.
