If you're lucky enough to have fallen in love, then you know it happens with virtually no effort at all. The "bad" news...after the adrenaline calms down, even the most loving relationships require effort. The good news is that you do NOT need to break your back making the effort. A seemingly little action can definitely make as much (or more) of an impact than a major one. The great news is that for a tiny investment, this book is CRAMMED with little ideas. 10,000? No way...there is a lot of weeding out to do because of repetition, one action being stretched out over several entries, and some just plain silly suggestions (go over your finances??? really???). But, overall, this book is worth it's weight in couples therapy appointments.
I got this book at Barnes & Noble one night when Matt and I first started dating. I remember Matt, Malochi & I all went there. But totally forget why. LOL!
I really enjoyed the many, multiples of suggestions that were in this book. I was disappointed by the amount of songs, movies, and other non-activities that were suggested; however, the lists were probably the most interesting pieces in this book. I took it upon myself to personalize it by adding my own suggestions and notes in the margins as someone might annotate a textbook. This is the second time I have done this with a relationship guidebook before sharing it with my boyfriend. In this case, I want to have him do the same thing, so that we might compare answers and ideas.
Apparently sharing your religious beliefs is a way to say "I love you". This is advice only if you have never met someone who has a different religion than you. Oh, yeah, the author trots out the same pizza garbage he puts in every book again. Pepperoni in a heart shape? Check. Let HER pick the toppings? You know it's there.
Most of this book is not aimed at me, but with 10,000 options, I think I gleaned about 100 excellent suggestions....which is worthwhile. A very useful book on romancing your partner - and a lot of crazy/ridiculous suggestions too - there really is something here for everyone.
